That means in January 2002. Because of the separate groups which are appointed to develop different different operating systems by Microsoft, things has been very easy. Normally, Microsoft has followed a culture of releasing an operating system after three years of releasing the last OS. So the next Windows OS (8th version of windows) is to be released in 2012.

A roadmap slide of Microsoft Corporation was unofficially released by Italian Microsoft Corporation. It states that there is a major release in 2012. It is a server operating system, code name Windows 8. At the same time the Desktop Operating System also is the 8th version of Windows.

After Windows 1.0 was released in 1985, 12 versions of Windows has been released up to now. But technically, they belongs to seven basic versions. Normally Microsoft gives three names for their operating systems. They are Code Name, Product Number and the Official Brand. Up to now Microsoft has followed many ways of giving names. At first they gave names by the version number like Windows 3.1, 3.5, etc. Then they were named according to their released years like Windows 95, 98, 2000. Then they started to name the OSs which are easily pronounceable like, Windows XP, Windows Vista. But after that they changed the system of naming. In 2008, when the product name of Windows 7 was released, they said that their next OS is going to be Windows 8.

Still there is no news about how advanced is Windows 8 is from Windows 7. Still the news is coming from unofficial blogs and some involved people only. From these, the most informative news came from a not from LinkedIn Profile of a worker of Microsoft called Robert Merdon. It stated that Windows 8 will be launched 64 and 128 bit releases without 32 bit release. The first OS which will be having 128 bit will be Windows 8.

According to the interface, Windows 7 was exactly same as Windows Vista. But Windows 8 will contain a totally different interface from Windows 7. The loading of Windows Vista was slow. But Windows 7 has reduced that time of loading. But Windows 8 has even more reduced the loading time. Because Windows 7 has reduced many problems in Windows Vista, it is considered as the best Operating System. It is a OS which has the touch screen facility. This feature is more developed in Windows 8.

Unofficial sources say that Windows 8 will be called 'The Operating System which touches the future'. That means, Windows 8 will be released not only suitable for the technical advancements in the next two years, but for the technical advancements in next five years too.

The main reason why people does not leave Windows XP is that they can run new things on their old computers with Windows XP. That is because Windows XP is a suitable operating system for nowadays even. But now there are reasons to change this situation. The reason is that the present Hard Disk technology is going to be changed very soon by the manufacturers.

The IDEMA (International Disk drive Equipment and Materials Association) has already decided to introduce a new hard disk technology replacing the present technology in 2011. But Windows XP cannot run in hard disks which has the new hard disk technology.

From the time of DOS operating system, the hard disks had a 512 bytes format block. Floppy disks had the same too. In 512 bytes standard, the start and end of the format was stated. There is a small gap between those two. When we take together all these gaps in a bigger hard disk, it is a huge unusable space. To avoid this and store more data in a small hard disk, the new technology called '4K format' has been introduced.

Today's data exchanging is not in hundreds of bytes but in millions of bytes. That means hard disk must be measured in Tera Byte which is equal to 1024 Giga Bytes. For this, the decision of changing the hard disk technology was first came in 2009. So the operating systems of Windows, Linux and Apple were all compatible with 4K format.

From 2011 January, all the hard disks that come to the market will have the 4K format. If that type of hard disk is installed in to an old computer, with a suitable capacity for that computer, and if Windows XP is installed on that hard disk, it will reduce the speed of the operating system from 10%. Sometimes you will not be able to install that operating system even. All this will lead to an omission of Windows XP.

A new programming language.

Computer is always solving problems. A computer is instructed how to solve each and every problem at the beginning. A software means those instructions. We are giving instructions to the computer in a language that the computer understands. It is called Programming Language.

There are many programming languages nowadays. The newest of them is Google's 'GO' Programming Language. Why do we need another programming language, when we have more than enough programming languages. Google answered this question.

All the good qualities of the present programming languages are not in the same place. When we take Python and Javascript, it is more easy to be designed than C++ or Java. But Java takes the first place in coding. Python is the best in flexibility. 'GO' means a combination of all these good conditions.

The comments about 'GO' is also useful than what Google says. One of the researchers in Gartner Company, Ray Waldas, said that 'GO' is a high level programming language. Some says that 'GO' is a combination of Python and C++. 'GO' consists of many features of Perl, PHP, Ruby open source programming languages. 'GO' is also released as an open source programming language.

The designing of 'GO' was started 12 years ago. On 21st September 2007, Robert Greesomer, Rob Pyke and Ken Thomson came to an decision about its architecture. From that day onwards, they designed it whenever they had free time in different pathways.

The combining of this unfinished work, started in full time in January 2008. After one year, 13th November 2009, this was released as a production by Google. Now anyone in the world can free download 'GO' programming language by logging in to http://golang.org with all the tutorials which explains clearly how to work with it.

And also it says, to remove these viruses from the computer, install a new anti-virus software. And it has to be purchased online by using a credit or debit card.

This is a complete forgery. All the messages that said the computer has viruses, are fake. Even is we purchase and download a anti-virus software and install it, nothing happens.

Put the person who sends these messages, gets a huge amount of money by using the credit/debit card details provided by the user. And also there are possibilities that, the person might send programs to our computer to take its control. And after that that person locks our computer and asks money from us to unlock our computer.

These kind of programs which scares the user and make the user to do something are called "Scareware".

Symantec Corporation, which does various researches about computer security, researched about scarewares' processes from 2008 July to 2009 June. And they found that there are 250 models of these scareware. And also in the second week of October 2009 they found that over 400,000,0 users have given money in vain for these kind of things.

APWG (Anti-Phishing Working Group) counted the no. of scareware programs and found that it was 2850 by the mid of 2008 and it has rised up to 9287 by the mid of 2009. As a percentage it is 583%!

It is a difficult task to identify the people who are sending these scareware to to the internet. So, the corporations which are researching about computer security says that, if computer users are well aware of these kind of fake programs, they can be safe. It is a very simple task to get rid of these scareware. Now they say that they will release their artificial brain of this project before 10 years. In the past 15 years, there was a professor who was engaged in this project named Henry Mackram. He is controlling the Blue Brain Project.

At present, the Blue Brain Project is making a digital model of the special area of the brain called the neocortex in the cortex of the brain. The neocortex is more important because it is always developing gradually in the brain. But when we get old, when we have more experience the neocortex changes according to that sense and cause the person to act accordingly. The Blue Brain's idea is to develop a digital system of the communication of information in the nerves too.

Under this, they have made thousands of software models as the neurons of the neocortex. So each of those are a computer program. If we take one of these computer programs, each one does the job of one nerve cell. They have re-created all the processes done by the cell and designed computer programs to do those processes.

When we re-create this the processes in a different form of some equipment or a living being it is called reverse engineering. To operate one of the above mentioned computer program, which were designed using reverse engineering, we need one laptop computer per each program! So to in order to create the model of the neocortex of the brain we need thousands of laptops. That means using a supercomputer is more practical than using many laptops. So that is why they have used, BlueGene, an IBM supercomputer that has ten thousand processors, to the Blue Brain Project.

In one of the lectures of Professor Henry Mackram, he asks they listeners "How many people are there in the world who are mentally ill?" and he himself answered "200,000,00 people" "Do you like them to be cured?'' every body answered "Yes" then he said "Then when we finished making the model of the human brain of the Blue Brain Project, we can do that."

The real aim of the Blue Brain Project is to make medical researches more easier by designing an artificial brain.

It's controlled by America. America's National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) which is directly connected with the ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) controls the most important things of the Internet.

Since it started to exchange information with two computers on 1969 October 29th, before 40 years, the internet was controlled by America. But America loosed it's authority of the internet on last October 1st. It was because the contract between ICANN and the American Government was ended on that day.

This was not happened suddenly. It was because many countries asked this a long time ago. Internet ; originated because of American Government but the last 40 years it was developed to the present situation not only by the Americans. It was because of the hard work of creative and effective people around the world. Due to this the European Council was asking to release the American hand over the Internet from a long time.

The European Union played an important role in this. They suggested and confirmed to loosen the control of America of the Internet in the WSIS (World Summit on the Information Society) in 2003. From that day until now, different countries have supported this. Because of these, America has now loosened the rules and regulations for Top Level Domains (TLD) and to not to come to an agreement with the ICANN.

The ending word of any web address is called Top Level Domain. For different countries (.lk .cn .sg), organizations (.com, .org), subjects (.biz, .edu) different domain names are chosen. These domain names are chosen by the ICANN.

Netcraft, an organization which does researches of the internet, showed that there were 233 million (233636281) websites on the internet as at November 2009. ICANN cannot control all these websites individually. So it has loosened it's control.

Because of this anyone can choose any word as a Top Level Domain, and also it can be in any language too.

This project is called Microsoft DreamSpark. The talk about DreamSpark has begun to rise because more new software has been added to it.

On 19th February 2008, Bill Gates, the chairman of the Microsoft Corporation, gave a lecture in Stanford University in America. There he said that Microsoft has launched a new project for the next generation of our world. At that time it was limited for only a small number of countries, but now there are many people who take software packages from DreamSpark.

Microsoft DreamSpark provides the latest software developing and designing tools. They can be downloaded by high school students and university students. For that they must visit DreamSpark website and provide their details.

Like this, those students who come to DreamSpark can download Microsoft Expression Studio, GamesStudio, RoboticsStudio for free. And also Visual Studio, SQL Server and Virtual PC can be downloaded.

Microsoft has described their objectives of giving these selected software free of charge. They said that its main objective is to adjust the next generation according to the developing world. There are billions of students all over the world who download software from Microsoft DreamSpark. But there are some people who says that DreamSpark is not for the benefit of students, it is to compete with Linux model operating systems and other open source software.

This is an open source operating system given to the public freely, and this is named as 'Chrome OS'.

Now Google has provided a new web browser named Google Chrome, which has many different features than Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. Chrome OS is a combination of Google Chrome and Linux Operating System Kernel.

At present, most of the people in the world uses Windows Operating System. Due to that all most all the software are designed based on Windows Operating Systems. And also many of the harmful software and viruses are designed targeting Windows OSs.

The official blog of Google says that "People like to open their e-mails quickly. When the computer gets more time to boot, when the browser gets more time to load, people gets bored. People like to speed up the computer. They don't like their files getting infected with viruses." This means that Chrome OS is more faster than Windows OSs. It has a whole new security architecture which protects the computer from harmful programs.

Chrome OS is a Linux based OS, so an open source software named 'WINE' is provided with it, which allows the user to run any software designed for Windows OSs without even a license. Google is still proceeding with designing hardware for the new OS. Google hopes to launch this new OS to the public in the middle of the next year

It is still available only for countries like America, China, Brazil and Israel, but it will soon be available for other countries too. It's codename is Morro. It can be downloaded from it's official website www.microsoft.com/security_essentials

Basically this software guards the PC from trojans, viruses, spywares & rootkits. Once installed this software automatically updates for latest virus definitions. Microsoft has launched 'Morro' because, the previous security program (Windows Live One Care) was not very much successful. When the 'Morro' project is finished, Microsoft will close down Windows Live One Care.

There are many anti-virus programs available for free download like McAfee, AVG, Kaspersky, etc. So Microsoft Security Essentials must be an more improved and advanced program than the other security programs.
