Steps to Install Linux / CentOS on VMware Server

•  Click on file –> New –> Virtual Machine

• Then Click on the Next Button

• Choose Custom Installation and click next

• Choose Linux and select Red Hat Linux under version

• Give a name for the virtual machine and also choose a location for the same and click  next

• If you wish to make the Virtual Machine Private you can put a tick or else leave it unticked. If you leave it unticked, you can easily copy the Virtual Machine on any computer and start Linux using VMware

• Hit the next button again

• You can select the number of processors as per your choice

• Specify how much memory you would like to allocate. Again it depends on you and ofcourse the amount of RAM installed on the computer

• Choose a Network Connection type as per your requirement

• Use LSI Logic  under SCSI Adapters option

• Select the option -> Create a new virtual disk

• Select the Virtual disk type as IDE and then click next

• Enter a size for the virtual disk but don’t tick allocate disk space now and click Next

• Click on the Finish button

• You need to click on Edit Virtual Machine Settings. Select CD ROM and use the ISO image ( use the browse button to specify the location where the image file is saved) 

• Its time to play the game  Start the virtual machine

• Press the Enter key on the keyboard to begin installation of CentOS

• Highlight SKIP and press Enter

• Hit the next button to proceed

• Choose the language of your choice and click Next

• Hit Yes and proceed further

• Click Next again – Make sure no changes are made on this screen

• A message would pop up asking if you want to remove linux partitions on the following drives. Just say yes

• For IP configuration –> Select automatically via  DHCP
• Choose your location from the map and hit next

• Type in the username and password ( a new username and password)

• Click on the next button again

• It will start the installation. Once its complete press the reboot button
• Once rebooted , Hit the forward button

• Enable or Disable Firewall – Its up to you

• Enable or Disable SELinux  and click forward

• Keep the Kdump disabled  and click next
• Set the date and time and proceed
• Now you can create a new user .

• Click the Finish button and press OK to reboot

• After its restarts you will have to enter the username and password

• After you login you will see a similar screen like the one displayed below

Scroll down to SPRINT/PARKOUR (VAULT) and change the space key to Right Mouse and then save changes.

So which five applications development environments are offering cloud technology platforms that are gaining in strength at the moment?

1. CloudFoundry

Cloud Foundry is an open platform as a service, providing a choice of clouds, developer frameworks and application services. Initiated by VMware, with broad industry support, Cloud Foundry makes it faster and easier to build, test, deploy and scale applications. It is an open source project and is available through a variety of private cloud distributions and public cloud instances, including CloudFoundry.com.
