Torrents are great, they are the best way to share large files with your friends, or even with people you don’t know at all. But surprisingly enough, not many people create torrents when they need to share something. I have “a lot of” friends who know how to download torrents, but when they need to send me their latest 200MB vacation picture collection, they ask me to “get on msn”

It’s not that I have anything against msn (although the file transfer sucks), but why don’t just use BitTorrent? Especially if you want to send something to more than one person, or if you want to share high quality HDTV files, because then you can share the bandwidth.

So how do you do this? Well it’s very simple. Open your favorite BitTorrent client and do the magic trick:

file > create torrent

That’s all? Well almost. All you need to do now is put in the tracker info and tick some boxes. This can differ somewhat from client to client but it all comes down to the same thing.

3. Trackers: This is probably the hard part for most people. But it’s pretty easy, just put in one of the popular public trackers. You can use one or more trackers, but in general one is enough.

For people who don’t understand anything about computers and peripherals this term might be unknown however this software is very useful and essential utility if you want to run a printer off your PC. Usually for a layman the relationship between drives and themselves are restricted with this sort of conversation:

Hey, Fella, my printer is not working after I’ve restored my computers hard drive, can you fix it?

And in couple of minutes:

Hey, that was quick! What have you done?
I installed a driver for your printer.
Wha… Wha… What are you talking about?
In other words, I helped your Operating system to find your printer.
Ah right, thanks dude!

If you find this example a little bit exaggerated, good for you, you are not one of those people.

So let’s make it clear what a driver is.

Basically a driver is kind of a software which helps your Operating System (like Windows) to find hardware which you have connected to your PC or Laptop. Without this tiny utility you can’t use your printer, scanner, web camera or any other peripheral.

The driver disc is always a part of the printer packaging (or any device, not only printers). All you have to do is to run the disc and follow the step-by-step instructions which will give you all information you need.

Quite often though it happens that you don’t have a driver, it might be due to different reasons, you may have lost the original disc or you could have bought the printer secondhand and the driver disc was missing. It’s easy to understand, the disc is small and you don’t use is every day, not even every week. After all you have lots of discs which almost live their own life when they appear and disappear from your desk randomly (with help of other people of course).

May be it’s just me being over cautious but I really don’t like to use many different web sites for downloading because you never know if you accidentally download a virus with your driver. The one I mentioned is clear and trustworthy and besides it contains a huge source of drivers. I would recommend it. But it’s your choice, you can Google for other web sites. Hack A website using SQL INJECTIONS

I want to show you just one way that hackers can get in to your website and mess it up, using a technique called SQL Injection. And then I'll show you how to fix it. This article touches on some technical topics, but I'll try to keep things as simple as possible. There are a few very short code examples written in PHP and SQL. These are for the techies, but you don't have to fully understand the examples to be able to follow what is going on. Please also note that the examples used are extremely simple, and Real Hackers™ will use many variations on the examples listed.

If your website doesn't use a database, you can relax a bit; this article doesn't apply to your site — although you might find it interesting anyway. If your site does use a database, and has an administrator login who has rights to update the site, or indeed any forms which can be used to submit content to the site — even a comment form — read on.

Warning

This article will show you how you can hack in to vulnerable websites, and to check your own website for one specific vulnerability. It's OK to play around with this on your own site (but be careful!) but do not be tempted to try it out on a site you do not own. If the site is properly managed, an attempt to log in using this or similar methods will be detected and you might find yourself facing charges under the Computer Misuse Act. Penalties under this act are severe, including heavy fines or even imprisonment.

What is SQL Injection?

SQL stands for Structured Query Language, and it is the language used by most website databases. SQL Injection is a technique used by hackers to add their own SQL to your site's SQL to gain access to confidential information or to change or delete the data that keeps your website running. I'm going to talk about just one form of SQL Injection attack that allows a hacker to log in as an administrator - even if he doesn't know the password.

Is your site vulnerable?

If your website has a login form for an administrator to log in, go to your site now, in the username field type the administrator user name.

In the password field, type or paste this:

x' or 'a' = 'a

If the website didn't let you log in using this string you can relax a bit; this article probably doesn't apply to you. However you might like to try this alternative:

x' or 1=1--

Or you could try pasting either or both of the above strings into both the login and password field. Or if you are familiar with SQL you could try a few other variations. A hacker who really wants to get access to your site will try many variations before he gives up.

If you were able to log in using any of these methods then get your web tech to read this article, and to read up all the other methods of SQL Injection. The hackers and "skript kiddies" know all this stuff; your web techs need to know it too.

The technical stuff

If you were able to log in, then the code which generates the SQL for the login looks something like this:

When you log in normally, let's say using userid admin and password secret, what happens is the admin is put in place of

$username

and secret is put in place of

$password

. The SQL that is generated then looks like this:

SELECT * FROM users WHERE username = 'admin' and PASSWORD = 'secret'

But when you enter

x' or 'a' = 'a

as the password, the SQL which is generated looks like this:

SELECT * FROM users WHERE username = 'admin' and PASSWORD = 'x' or 'a' = 'a'

Notice that the string:

x' or 'a' = 'a

has injected an extra phrase into the WHERE clause:

or 'a' = 'a'

. This means that the WHERE is always true, and so this query will return a row contain the user's details.

If there is only a single user defined in the database, then that user's details will always be returned and the system will allow you to log in. If you have multiple users, then one of those users will be returned at random. If you are lucky, it will be a user without administration rights (although it might be a user who has paid to access the site). Do you feel lucky?

How to defend against this type of attack

Fixing this security hole isn't difficult. There are several ways to do it. If you are using MySQL, for example, the simplest method is to escape the username and password, using the mysql_escape_string() or mysql_real_escape_string() functions, e.g.:

$userid = mysql_real_escape_string($userid);
$password = mysql_real_escape_string($password);

Now when the SQL is built, it will come out as:

SELECT * FROM users WHERE username = 'admin' and PASSWORD = 'x\' or \'a\' = \'a'

Those backslashes ( \ ) make the database treat the quote as a normal character rather than as a delimiter, so the database no longer interprets the SQL as having an OR in the WHERE clause.

This is just a simplistic example. In practice you will do a bit more than this as there are many variations on this attack. For example, you might structure the SQL differently, fetch the user using the user name only and then check manually that the password matches or make sure you always use bind variables (the best defence against SQL injection and strongly recommended!). And you should always escape all incoming data using the appropriate functions from whatever language your website is written in - not just data that is being used for login.

Go project IGI installed folder then goto commen\ai backup the folder ai, 
There will some files like "civlian.qvm", "guard.qvm" like that names of 
enemy's copy the file "civlian.qvm"[ctrl + c] and paste it [ctrl + v] in 
that same folder, if willbe like copy of

civlian.qvm then rename enemy's 
files into  some other names then then rename copy of civlian.qvm into 
name of enemy's files like guard etc. then start the game then enemy's 
willnot shout you or kill you, If thay see you than thay will run away 
like civlian.

Convert AK47 into Colt Anaconda!!!:

Let's go! First go into the installation folder of Project IGI and make a
backup copy of WEAPONS folder. Now open the weapons folder and you will see
several folders with the names of the guns like ak47 etc. Open the AK47 folder
and you will see a file named weapon.qvm. Open this file in your favorite Hex Editor(I like neo) and search for a string named:
"WEAPON_ID_AK47", Change this to: "WEAPON_ID_COLT" and Save the file.

Now open the "COLTANACONDA" folder and here also you will have a file weapon.qvm.
Open this in hex editor and search for a sting named: "WEAPON_ID_COLT" Change
this to: "WEAPON_ID_AK47"

As you can imagine what I have done is nothing but interchanged the weapon id
of both the guns. Now run the game and you will see that the guards which were
previously holding ak47 will now have colt anaconda. Just kill one guard and
get his colt and enjoy this secret gun in the very first level!!!

NOTE : remember that the weapon id is all in UPPER CASE. And also do not change
anything else in the weapon.qvm files and take care not to change the size of
the file when you are hex editing.
If after taken all the above care in hex editing the files your game give an
error during startup then do this:

Extra Steps in case of error: (use these only if you are sure that you have
correctly edited the files and still getting error at startup)

1. Interchange the folders names of AK47 and COLTANACONDA

OR/AND

2. There is a file named weaponconfig.qvm in the weapons folder, open it
in hex editor and search for string "WEAPON_ID_AK47", Change this to: "WEAPON_ID_COLT"
And in the same file search again for "WEAPON_ID_COLT", Change this to "WEAPON_ID_AK47"

My game ran perfectly without using these extra steps and I think you too
wont need these. I have only written this because my commonsense says that
this should what be happening. But these stupid game developers are so bad
programmers that we don't need the extra steps.

Ok done with the colt?? Now let's get some bigger things in our hands! If
you take a look at all the weapon.qvm files in all the guns folders you will find that:

Weapon ID of AK47 = AK47
Weapon ID of Colt Anaconda = COLT
Weapon ID of UZI = UZI
Etc etc.

I am listing the entire weapon IDs of all the guns in order of their word length:

APC AK47 M16A2 SPAS12 MEDIPACK BINOCULARS
MIL COLT KNIFE MINIMI DRAGUNOV JACKHAMMER
UZI M2HB MP5SD SENTRY
T80 RPG18
GLOCK
UZIX2

Now if you want an APC or T80 (both are tanks!!) Instead of UZI then just
use the method I described for ak47 above. Just interchange the IDs of APC and UZI.

You must have guessed why we can't interchange an AK47 with APC. Because ak47
is 4 letters and APC is only 3. So the golden rule is: - we can only interchange
those weapons which have the same ID length so that we won't change the length
of weapon.qvm file. And always remember that we can only interchange IDs and not
replace them and every ID should be present at least once and no two guns can
have the same ID.

AMMO: This same cheat can be applied to the files located in the ammo folder.
For example i change the medipack ammo id to dragunov ammo id. So now i have
50 bullets(or 100 etc depending upon the amount of medipack u get in that
perticular level) of dragunov when i should have only 10.

MY SETTINGS:

This is what I do to make the game easier using this cheat. The only problem
with this cheat is that the enemy also gets whatever you change. We can use
this thing to our advantage. Colt is a small gun with only six bullets so it
needs reloading very frequently and also it takes lot of time to reload and
to fire. So change ak47 into colt and you can easily run away from a shootout
without much injury. And those stupid snipers hanging at the watch towers is
a pain in ass, just change the DRAGUNOV to MEDIPACK. Now those snipers would
be standing like basterds just watching you kicking their buddies' asses.
Change the KNIFE and GLOCK to some useful guns like M16A2 and MP5SD. Do not
use the tanks because you would be certainly killed by the enemy.

Gmail has introduced its latest Labs feature called offline Gmail to enable e-mail access even when you are not connected to the Internet.

While this might sound uber geeky, the concept is simple enough when you actually use it. Oh, and the “offline” mode is already available in a simpler form if you happen to use Outlook or any other email client with Gmail POP access.

Gmail uses its Google Gears open source web application to enable the “offline” mode. Currently, Google lists Firefox 2, 3, and the Internet Explorer 7 in its list of supported browsers. Strangely, there is no mention of Google’s own, the Chrome! However, it might be because Chrome support is obvious.

What it does

The feature, which needs to be enabled from under the “Labs” option under “Settings,” downloads e-mails onto your computer and allows access even when there is no Internet connectivity. Users will be able to access most of their emails, reply to them, and view starred and unread messages, just like they do when Gmail is online. When you perform an action that needs web access, Gmail will queue the action and will execute it as soon the connection is restored. While it might not sound very exciting initially, I, for once, can realize how useful this might turn out to be. For many users, Gmail has become a data center, and I suspect that there are many people out there who would want to have a look at their mails and archives even when not connected to the Internet. The best thing is that once this feature is installed, Gmail will be able to go offline or online by detecting the network status, so you do not need to switch on/off the Offline mode manually. There is also this “Flaky Connection Mode” that detects a slow connection and uses the local cache for accessing data, and only uses the server when Gmail needs web access - like when hitting the send button.

Not all Gmail features work, though, in the offline mode. What does work, however, are the sending and replying to emails, searching your archives, and the much-needed auto-complete function. You will not be able to add attachments or add/manage contacts. However, most users will be able to live with such minor inconveniences.

Issues

As expected of a Labs feature, this application has been tested internally amongst 20,000 Google employees and has then been made available to the Labs. Not all users may see this enabled in their accounts, but the feature should be available to all in the coming days. As for the issues noticed, I have not seen anything go wrong in the little time that I have used this. However, CNET does report issues of the local cache going out of sync, but most issues can be sorted out by disabling and re-enabling the feature.

Win9x sets DMA to OFF by default. You have to switch it on. In theory, enabling DMA increases UDMA Hard Disk access to 33.3 MB/sec. In practice, speed will increase substantially from the old standard of 16MB/sec. Furthermore, DMA uses only 25% of CPU resources compared to 40% normally. Nearly all 5400rpm/7200rpm, and some lower speed, drives, support DMA.

Now I'll tell you about it. Ready ?

Right-click on "my computer". Now click on "properties". Now search for "devide manager" and click properties of your hard drive. It should have an option called "DMA". By enabling this, your hard drive should show an increase in performance. Also, this method can increase the transfer rate of your CD/DVD-ROM or CD/DVD-Writer, possibly eliminating those under buffer run errors.

Boot Windows XP Faster

First of all, this tweak only apply to those who only have one HDD on their primary IDE channel (nothing else on device 0 or 1) and a CD-ROM and/or DVD-ROM on the secondary IDE channel. Each time you boot Windows XP, there's an updated file called NTOSBOOT-*.pf who appears in your prefetch directory (%SystemRoot%Prefetch) and there's no need to erease any other files as the new prefetch
option in XP really improves loading time of installed programs. We only want WindowsXP to boot faster and not decrease its performance. Thanks to Rod Cahoon (for the prefetch automation process...with a minor change of mine) and Zeb for the IDE Channel tweak as those two tricks, coupled together with a little modification, result in an EXTREMELY fast bootup:

1. Open notepad.exe, type "del c:windowsprefetch tosboot-*.* /q" (without the quotes) & save as "ntosboot.bat" in c:

2. From the Start menu, select "Run..." & type "gpedit.msc".

3. Double click "Windows Settings" under "Computer Configuration" and double click again on "Shutdown" in the right window.

4. In the new window, click "add", "Browse", locate your "ntosboot.bat" file & click "Open".

5. Click "OK", "Apply" & "OK" once again to exit.

6. From the Start menu, select "Run..." & type "devmgmt.msc".

7. Double click on "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"

8. Right click on "Primary IDE Channel" and select "Properties".

9. Select the "Advanced Settings" tab then on the device 0 or 1 that doesn't have 'device type' greyed out select 'none' instead of 'autodetect' & click "OK".

10. Right click on "Secondary IDE channel", select "Properties" and repeat step 9.

11. Reboot your computer.
