VBS Volunteers Needed

We are very excited to start getting ready for Vacation Bible School this year! As always, we will need several volunteers. Please pray and ask the Lord what He wants you to do and let us know. This year the theme is Over the Moat, Drawbridge to the King! Through the lessons, everyone will learn about God's sovereignty, love, and faithfulness demonstrated in the life of David, and will learn to praise the King! Please let us know if you have any questions or you know what you want to volunteer for!

Sunday School

All are invited to attend Sunday School every week at 9:45 am. We have classes for all ages. Everyone needs to learn more about God and grow spiritually. Ordination on January 29th

Everyone is invited to attend the ordination of Brother Jonathan Kirby to the full ministry of the gospel. The ordination service will be held on January 29, 2017 at 3:00 pm. Jonathan has been called to Pastor North Canton Baptist Church.

We ask everyone attend this special day for Jonathan. If you are unable to attend, please remember Jonathan and Erin in your prayers on this special day.

Christmas Story

Adult SS Class Info

The adult class will be taking up donations again this year for needy families. We will be taking donations from September through November 27^th. We will purchase clothing and toys for the kids! There will be donation envelopes available in the pews. If you have any questions, please ask someone in the adult class. Thank You for your support!

Fall Festival 2016

Come and join us on October 29, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, for an afternoon of fellowship. There will be several games for all ages! We will be serving hotdogs & hamburgers for supper. Other foods will available that afternoon including homemade icecream, roasted marshmallows, funnel cakes and more.

There is no charge for the event or food! This will be the first outreach for PCBC! Please bring your family and friends to join in on all of the fun! We plan on having an Outreach event on a quarterly basis.

Reagan Loudermilk - Reagan won three end of the school year awards in her 2nd grade class at Sawnee Elementary:

1. Chosen by her teacher as the year’s Classroom CHIEF: C - Committed, H-Hones, I-Innovative, E-Engaged, F-Friendly.

2. Chosen by her classmates as the best singer in the class.

3. She was awarded the “Amazing Reading Achievement” for reaching the highest reading level in the class.

Spencer Allison - Spencer will graduate with honors, was a member of the Key Club, National Honor Society, Science National Honors Society, Beta Club, Flood Ministries and Y-Club. He will be attending UGA in the fall to pursue a degree in Secondary Science Education.

Rayden Gober - Had a walk off bunt to win the championship game for his baseball team.

VBS 2016

It is time to begin preparing for VBS. We are so excited about this year’s theme “Deep Sea Discovery”. We will learn that God Knows Me!, God Hears Me!, God Strengthens Me!, God Loves Me!, and God Sends Me!.

The Hightower Baptist Association VBS Clinics will be held this year at Hightower Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 3^rd and Thursday, May 5^th.

Our VBS will be from June 5^th to June 10^th from 6:45 pm to 9:00 pm. We will have classes for all ages. So that we can begin to prepare, please register at www.vacationbibleschool.com/pcbc.

We still are in need of some volunteers, please pray and ask God’s guidance about what He would have you to do this year for VBS!

Terry's Team April 2016

Kayla Evans has been accepted as a member of the Advanced Women’s Choir at North Forsyth High School for her freshmen year. She had to audition to be accepted. Only 21 rising freshmen from three middle schools were accepted into 2 choirs that require auditions to be enrolled. We thank God for giving her a talent that will allow her to participate in something she enjoys so much. We are proud that she wants to share her singing with others.

Lindsey - She has just been voted Key Club President for the 2016/2017 school year. She has also been accepted into the College Board Capstone Diploma Program at West Forsyth High School. She was also one of 80 students invited of 3,000 to go to Washington in January for the Inauguration.

Spencer - He has been accepted to The University of Georgia, he will start to school there in the Fall. He also entered a Laws of Life Essay at West, he won his class, for the 12th Grade and for the entire school. His teacher has now sent it on to the next level for competition.

Tyler Sams—got his drivers license and got a 98 on the test. Pray for all of the young drivers.

THE DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED! Cards are now due by Sunday, December 6th and will be distributed on Sunday, December 13th.

Christmas Program
The Christmas Program will be held on Sunday, December 13th at 6pm. Attendees are asked to bring finger foods, snacks, drinks, desserts, etc. to enjoy in the fellowship hall after the program.

Please see the calendar for the tentative practice dates and times. The final practice will be at 3PM on the day of the program.

Nursing Home Service

The Adult Choir will be singing Christmas Carols at the Nursing Home Service at Chestnut Ridge on Tuesday, December 8th at 7pm. Attendees are asked to bring fold up chairs since seating will be at a minimum. All are invited.

Christmas Shoeboxes November 2015

How many children need to be reached with God's message? Just by filling a shoebox, we can take the opportunity to open a door and share the Gospel of Jesus with children and their families around the world. When distributing the shoeboxes, Samaritan's Purse provides the Gospel in over 60 languages. Boxes and Brochures/Labels will be made available soon! Filled shoeboxes and postage will be due back on Sunday, November 8th. This year let's challenge ourselves to each fill TWO more boxes than we did last year... Together, we can reach the goal of 100 boxes!

Benevolence Committee Notice
In order to better serve families, the Benevolence Committee has asked that the church use the following guidelines for meal preparation when someone passes away. The Benevolence Committee will initiate a meal for the bereaved family when the funeral is local and the deceased is a church member. Or, on an "as needed" basis, when the funeral is local and the deceased is one of the following family-members of a church member; Mother, Father, Sister, Brother, Mother-in-law, Father-in-law, Spouse, or Child.

Please contact the committee chairman, Lucille Croft, when a bereavement meal is needed, at (770) 887-1130.

Adult Choir @ Mt. Calvary
The adult choir has been asked to sing at Mt. Calvary (on Hwy 141) on Wednesday, November 4th at 7pm for their Revival Service. This will replace the adult choir practice that would normally be scheduled for that Wednesday.

Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes Oct 2015

It's shoebox time! Our church goal is to send MORE than 100 shoeboxes to children (ages 2 to 14) across the world this Christmas season! You can help us reach our goal 3 different ways..

1- Fill a shoebox (or as many and you can!) and turn in by Sunday, November 8th. Please attach the envelope with the $7 shipping fee (per box) to the top of the shoebox.

2- Donate funds to have a WOM member fill and ship a shoebox for you.

3- Bring in any of the shoebox items requested on the designated Sunday list below so we can fill as many boxes as possible!

Accessories: T Shirts, socks, hats, sunglasses, flip flops, hair clips, hair bands, jewelry, watches, flashlights, etc.

Sunday Oct 11th
Non-liquid hygiene items: toothbrushes, bar soap, combs, brushes, washcloths, etc.

Sunday Oct 18th
Toys: dolls, stuffed animals, toy cars, yo-yos, jump ropes, balls, musical instruments, puzzles

Sunday Oct 25th
School Supplies: pens, pencils, crayons, markers, notebooks, paper, solar calculators, coloring and picture books.

Hallelujah thine the glory, hallelujah amen. Hallelujah thine the glory, revive us again!

Thank you Jesus for the revival you sent Pine Crest this summer. Jonathan and Terry preached wonderful messages, the church was obedient, and it was a delivering type of revival. I'm trusting that seeds were sown and watered, and soon they will spring up to be harvested into everlasting life.

I also thank the Lord for the six souls that were baptized. Each one made it so special. It was and honor for me to witness Alan baptize Kelsey and Ray baptize Rayden. Always a special, sacred time in the water.

Please pray for Pine Crest as she continues forward for Jesus and the up building of His kingdom. He has amazing things on the horizon for His children here at Pine Crest.

Landen Dodd was "Best All Around" for his class this past school year. His family is extremely proud of him and are excited to see what God has in store for him.

Hanna Kirby – Hanna finished her high school career and graduated with Honors. She received an award for National Technical Honor Society, an award for completing her pathway in Agriculture Science, an award for Most Outstanding Agriculture Student for all 4 years in high school. She received a scholarship from the Chattahoochee Water and Soil Conservation for an essay she had written. She received an academic scholarship from Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College and the Zell Miller Scholarship. She has been a wonderful role model to her friends and family. Even through the hard times she has had this past year she has been faithful to rely on God for his leadership and direction. We are all so very proud of the young lady she has become.

With so much on our hearts, I'm certain we find a bit of difficulty gathering words together at times. These times may include sorrow, pain, confusion, burdens, and doubt.

I write to assure us all that God is still God, Jesus is still seated on the throne, and His Word is still true!

May we all continue in one accord, focusing all our efforts to winning souls to Christ. I pray this takes place at Church Camp and Revival, but let's not forget every day in between. Let's be fishers of men everyday, wherever we go.

Levi Thompson came to the rescue to selflessly honor Willie Dodd by donating his toy camper to be used in a beautiful flower arrangement.

Sheila Dickerson gave so much of her time and efforts to lead us in a terrific Vacation Bible School. Her dedication to do everything possible that VBS reached lost souls is admirable.

Lisa and Tony Evans were both integral in the success of VBS. Decorations to pamphlets, they went above and beyond to help and ensure a great VBS.

The teachers, leaders, crafters, gamers, snack team, and everyone who made a difference during VBS. Thank you for shining the light of Jesus.

VBS will be May 31^st – June 5^th. Please join us for a week of Discovering how God’s Everlasting Love is Incredible, Faithful, Invincible, Unconditional and Real. We will be having a kick-off on Sunday night starting at 5:00 with a Hot-Dog supper. We plan to enjoy our time together learning about God’s Love. Classes are available for 0 to 100. Jacob Cochran has received acceptance into the National Honor Society.

Blake Evans won 4 blue ribbons at the Special Olympics held at Forsyth Central on Friday, April 17th. Way to go, Blake!

Alexis Harber volunteered as a “Buddy” to a ninth grader during the Special Olympics. We are proud of you, Alexis!

Kristyn Roden, Tucker, Georgia, education major at Carson-Newman University recently received a Twin Pillars Award of Excellence in Scholarship and Service (The event recognizes members of both the campus and greater communities who make significant contributions towards Carson-Newman’s ‘twin pillars’ of academic excellence and Christian service.) She also has received the Senior Girl Leadership award. She will Graduate on May 8, 2015 with honors from Carson-Newman University in Jefferson, Tennessee. She is the granddaughter of John & Earlene Roden.
