An extraordinary journey to the top of the world, the documentary adventure “To The Arctic 3D” tells the ultimate tale of survival. Narrated by Oscar® winner Meryl Streep, the film takes audiences on a never-before-experienced journey into the lives of a mother polar bear and her twin seven-month-old cubs as they navigate the changing Arctic wilderness they call home.

Captivating, adventurous and intimate footage brings moviegoers up close and personal with this family’s struggle to survive in a frigid environment of melting ice, immense glaciers, spectacular waterfalls, and majestic snow-bound peaks.

Warner Bros. Pictures and IMAX® Filmed Entertainment present a MacGillivray Freeman Film, “To The Arctic,” a One World One Ocean presentation, directed by two-time Academy Award®-nominated filmmaker Greg MacGillivray (“The Living Sea,” “Dolphins”). Filmed in 15/70mm IMAX® 3D, “To The Arctic” is written and edited by Stephen Judson (“Everest”), and produced by Shaun MacGillivray (“Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk”).

The musical score is by Steve Wood, with songs by Paul McCartney.

MacGillivray Freeman Films is the world’s foremost independent producer and distributor of giant-screen 70mm films with 35 IMAX® films to its credit. Throughout the company’s 40-year history, its films have won numerous international awards including two Academy Award® nominations and three films inducted into the IMAX Hall of Fame. “To The Arctic 3D” follows in the company’s long tradition of films known for their artistry and celebration of science, and for calling attention to the natural world.

During a routine desert patrol, an U.S. Military unit head by Captain Sturges (Krause) is ambushed by insurgents. Just when they seemed to be outgunned, the attack suddenly stops…and their would-be assassins are dragged off by what a native liaison calls “the devils of the sand.” Wounded in the battle, Sturges earns a ticket back home to the more hospitable deserts of the Southwestern United States.

Bringing back one of his fallen comrades, Sturges doesn’t realize that a couple of camel spiders stowed away and now have access to an environment where they can breed at an exponential rate, freely hunting for prey and unafraid of any predator – including man. No place is safe, no one is beyond their paralyzing sting. In the end, a small band of hearty fighters are forced to make one last stand against the creatures.

From the director of Merantau, this non-stop action thriller about an elite special forces team ambushed in a ruthless crime lord’s lair opens in select theaters on March 23, 2012!

As a rookie member of an elite special-forces team, Rama (Iko Uwais) is instructed to hang back during a covert mission involving the extraction of a brutal crime lord from a rundown fifteen-story apartment block. But when a spotter blows their cover, boss Tama (Ray Sahetaphy) offers lifelong sanctuary to every killer, rapist and thief in the building in exchange fortheir heads. Now Rama must stand in for the team’s fallen leader (Joe Taslim) and use every iota of his fighting strength – winding through every floor and every room to complete the mission and escape with his life.

Recently named one of 2012′s “Directors To Watch” by Variety – Gareth Huw Evans reteams on THE RAID with Iko Uwais, the star and fight choreographer of thecult sensation MARENTAU – which first brought the Indonesian martial art of Pencak Silat to global attention. Already a word-of-mouth sensation at the Toronto Film Festival, where it played to sold out crowds, the film is now poised to reach global audiences with a propulsive new score by alternativerocker/composers Mike Shinoda of “Linkin Park” and Joe Trepanese of “M83″.

THE RAID is written, edited and directed by Gareth Huw Evans, and stars IkoUwais, Joe Taslim, Doni Alamsyah, Yayan Ruhian, Pierre Gruno, Ray Sahetapy and Tegar Satrya. The film is produced by Ario Sagantoro and executive produced by R. Maya Barack-Evans, Irwan D. Mussry, Nate Bolotin and Todd Brown.

THE RAID is a production of Merantau Films in association with Celluloid Nightmares and XYZ Films. The film is a presentation of Sony Pictures Classics.

James Cameron, who also directed the breakthrough 3D epic AVATAR, will bring Titanic to life as audiences have never seen it before, digitally re-mastered and harnessing the innovative technology of StereoD. As predicted by the majority of critics, The Artist took home five awards including the evening’s big prize for Best Picture. The Artist is the first silent film to take home an Oscar since 1929 when Wings won the top honor.

Crystal started off the evening with a montage that travelled through five different films, including Bridesmaids, The Descendants, and Midnight in Paris. Notable cameo Justin Bieber found his way into the sequence, helping Crystal tap into the 18-24 year-old demographic.

At the end of his opening monologue, Crystal cracked one of the best jokes of the evening saying “nothing can take the sting out of the world’s economic problems like watching millionaires present each other with golden statues.”

The practiced host(this was Crystal’s ninth time taking the job), nailed it last night, making the four-hour long show somewhat bearable to watch. Following a year that boasted such amazing films like The Social Network, Black Swan, and The Fighter, it was hard for me to get excited about a black and white silent film or the over-hyped George Clooney vehicle, The Descendents.

Thankfully, presenters Emma Stone, Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell, and Zach Galifianakis lightened up the evening with some genuinely humorous banter that almost helped me forget about Bradley Cooper’s bizarre mustache, Agelina Jolie’s ridiculous posing, and J-Lo’s inappropriately revealing dress. She was just asking for a wardrobe malfunction last night.

Octavia Spencer took home the much deserved honor for Best Supporting Actress in The Help and looked stunning in her Tadashi Shoji & Neil Lane sequined gown. Viola Davis, nominated for Best Actress in The Help, was one of the biggest snubs of the night. Davis lost to the talented (she’s been nominated 17 times) Meryl Streep, who took home the third Oscar of her career for playing Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady. While there is no doubt Streep is a worthy actress, I think this was Davis’ year.

Martin Scorsese’s Hugo swept several of the major technical categories but lost to Michel Hazanavicius(The Artist) for Best Director. Despite ten years of movie magic and receiving some of the best reviews from audiences and critics alike, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows:Part II was neglected by the Academy again.

Ryan Gosling, arguably one of the biggest movie stars in 2011 with exceptional performances in The Ides of March and Drive, was also forgotten by voters. Clearly, I am a big fan of the Harry Potter series and Ryan Gosling, but I think most people would agree they deserved some Oscar love this year.

In my opinion, the Academy really dropped the ball, but to further my point, take a look at the winner for Best Original Song. Yes it makes me laugh, but is it really worthy of an Oscar?

By Paulette Cohn

Fans of Jennifer Aniston, who want to see the movie on which she met new boyfriend Justin Theroux, need to head to the theater on Friday when “Wanderlust” opens nationwide.

In the film, Aniston plays half of an overextended, stressed out Manhattan couple, who head to Georgia when her other half — played by Paul Rudd — loses his job and they can no longer afford their big city lifestyle.

On the way there, George (Rudd) and Linda (Aniston) stumble upon Elysium, an idyllic community populated by colorful characters who embrace a different way of looking at things. Among them is Theroux, who plays the leader of the commune.

Money? It can’t buy happiness. Careers? Who needs them? Clothes? Only if you want them.

Is Elysium the fresh start George and Linda need? Or will the change of perspective cause more problems than it solves?

Wanderlust opens in theaters nationwide on Friday, Feb. 24 The film was written by Ken Marino & David Wain, directed by Wain and produced by Judd Apatow, Marino, Rudd, and Wain.

Now, we talk to Aniston about free love, nudity and whether or not she could cut it in a place like Elysium.

One of the themes of this movie is the idea of free love. Do you believe in it?

No, I don’t. For some people it is possible. To each his own. I think eventually it is going to start to not feel good. I think.

How comfortable are you with nudity in front of the camera? Is that easy for you to do?

Kind of was. There is a little bit of nerves. Adrenaline takes you through it. The girls come in and cover you up immediately. I got very comfortable with seeing nude people pretty much immediately. It was very bizarre. To know that these were actually nudists because here is a nudist colony in Clarkesville. To know how comfortable they are being nude. Then you could tell the ones who were not authentic nudists because they were groomed, so you could spot a fake miles away — maybe not miles away.

The whole idea with this couple is they want to get away from their busy New York lifestyle. As a celeb has there ever been a day that you would love to escape it all?

Every day. For me going to Clarksville and shooting this movie was a version of that because there were no paparazzi and there were no secret cell phone pictures being taken. It was just this great community and these amazing people. For me, I realized how old I was and this protective armor that I have — not for friends or family — but just being outside in the world. I am always on guard. There was just this sigh of relief after week one knowing, this is like John Travolta and the boy in the bubble. It was special. To get back in touch with that part of myself and that anonymity, I really made a conscious effort to not wall up like that. I think you miss out on a lot of stuff if you are so protected and isolated in a way. It was bizarre how at ease we became having a bunch of naked people everywhere.

Your character has bounced around to different careers. What aspiration did you have if Hollywood didn’t work out?

There was the period where I wanted to be a therapist if the acting thing didn’t work. That was pretty much it. I don’t know why. I just liked talking to people. I was always the girl people would come to and talk about their problems. Still am. I also really knew that acting was something … I had a good feeling about it. I think I was innocently ignorant. I never went, “God, I hope this happens.” I was waitressing and waitressing and waitressing and doing this and that and the other thing. I would audition. I couldn’t get hired to save my life. I was doing off-off-Broadway theater and that was great. I was thrilled feeling like, “It is off-off-Broadway, but there is the Broadway in there.

Congratulations on your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. How do you feel about that?

I am extremely flattered, humbled, nervous and excited all at the same time. It feels very surreal to be honest. I was born here. It was something you went and saw as a kid and were excited to go there and walk and see the names. To imagine you are going to be there is very special.

Did you ever go past Elysian Fields — the nudist colony in Topanga — when it was open?

Nope.

Jennifer this is your first time working with David Wain? What was your experience like?

I was welcomed in with open arms and I had just the time of my life.

How is it to team up again with Paul?

Heaven. We were so happy. It felt like no time had passed. We have also seen each other throughout the years. It is just the excitement of this is going to be so fun and comfortable, especially playing a married couple with the ease and familiarity.

Can you talk about what your experience was like shooting in Georgia?

We loved it. We enjoyed Atlanta. We loved Clarksville. It lent itself beautifully to the story we were telling because we were all in a place where no one lived, so it brought us together. It was still warm when we got there and the leaves were changing. It was so beautiful. We went trick or treating.

How long do you think you would last in a place like Elysium?

I honestly don’t think I would. I think going for a little bit would be sort of …

Were there any takes that you were wondering how long they would let you go?

It was pretty obvious. David would do it for his own laugh. We would be going on and on and he would yell, “Cut” and David would be laughing. We knew we were giving David a kick. You miss out on a lot of stuff if you are so protected and isolated.

Do you feel pressure to bring the comedy?

If it is a comedy…

Since so much wound up on the cutting room, does that make seeing the finished product more of a surprise?

Oh, yeah. Going to the premiere, I did not know know … there have been so many incarnations of it. That was fun experiencing shock and awe.

Wanderlust opens in theaters nationwide on Friday, Feb. 24

Starlet explores the unlikely friendship between 21 year-old Jane (Dree Hemingway), and 85 year-old Sadie (Besedka Johnson), two women whose worlds collide in California’s San Fernando Valley. Jane spends her time getting high with her dysfunctional roommates, Melissa and Mikey, while taking care of her Chihuahua, Starlet. Sadie, an elderly widow, passes her days alone, tending to her flower garden.

After a confrontation between the two women at Sadie’s yard sale, Jane uncovers a hidden stash of money inside a relic from Sadie’s past. Jane attempts to befriend the caustic older woman in an effort to solve her dilemma and secrets emerge as their relationship grows.

Starlet is Sean Baker’s follow-up to the acclaimed Prince of Broadway, winner of the Best Narrative Feature at the Los Angeles Film Festival.
