The Central Government has done a significant overhaul of the pension system by introducing the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS). This will change the long-standing demands of government employees to make changes in the New Pension Scheme (NPS), which lacked a guaranteed pension amount, causing financial insecurity after their retirement.

In a cabinet briefing, Union Minister Ashvini Vaishnav said"Government employees have demanded some changes in the New Pension Schemes. For this, PM Modi constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Cabinet Secretary TV Somanathan. This committee held more than 100 meetings with different organizations and nearly all the state's representatives,"

Main Features of the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS):

The Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) ensures a guaranteed post-retirement income for government employees.
Under this new scheme, retirees will get a pension amounting to 50% of their average basic pay from the last 12 months of service before superannuation.
This benefit is designed for those who have completed a minimum of 25 years of service and the employees who have service of less than 25 years but more than 10 years, the pension will be proportionate to the length of their service.

In case of an employee's demise, their family will receive 60% of the pension that was being received immediately before their death. This provision ensures financial security for the dependents of deceased employees.

This UPS scheme guarantees a minimum pension of ₹10,000 per month for the retiree who has served at least 10 years of service.

This scheme is crucial for employees with lower pay, providing them with safety against inflation and financial uncertainties after their retirement.

"After the consultations with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the World Bank, the committee has recommended a Unified Pension Scheme (UPS). Today, the Union Cabinet has approved this Unified Pension Scheme, and it will be implemented soon," he further added.

The UPS is built on mainly five key pillars. The first and most significant pillar is assured pension, directly addressing government employees' primary demand for guaranteed post-retirement income.

Other pillars include assured family pension and assured minimum pension, enhancing financial security provided by the scheme. This reform comes after extensive consultations involving over 100 meetings with various organizations and nearly all states.

The committee's recommendations were based on inputs from stakeholders like RBI and World Bank. The introduction of UPS marks a major shift from NPS by ensuring financial stability for retired government employees and their families. It aims to provide a more secure retirement phase by guaranteeing specific benefits based on service duration.

After getting the license, you can now be eligible to represent your client's in the court or you can take the cases to the court or you can practice in the court.

Advocates are those professionals who can take the cases to the court but the Senior advocates are the personnel who are designated either by the Supreme court of India or the High Court. These have vast knowledge and experience of more than 10 years and won the majority of cases.

ii. Advocate on Record

The senior advocates who have cleared the exam of AOR are recognized as an AOR by the Supreme Court of India. Only an Advocate on Record (AOR) can file the Vakalatnama, a petition, an affidavit, or any other application on the behalf of the party in the Supreme Court of India. In simple words, the senior advocates appointed by the apex court of India as an AOR only have the right to draft the case in the supreme court of India.

Advocate General

These are the most experienced advocate appointed by the governor in India. Advocate General represents all the cases of the states in the court. Advocate General can be a legal advisor of the state. They are entitled to a First Law officer of the state.

Attorney General

Just like the advocate general represents the states of India in the court, the Attorney general represents the central government in the court. They are called the First Law officer of the country. Update KYC for EPF UAN Online

Now Update KYC for EPF UAN Online

It is mandatory to update the KYC for EPF. You can update your KYC online via the UAN EPFO portal. To update or change your KYC (Know Your Customer) profile on the UAN EPFO portal, you need a UAN (Universal Account Number) credential. You need to update your KYC information by logging in to the EPFO UAN portal and entering the required information.

You can update the following information under the KYC section on the UAN portal.

Bank account number
PAN
Passport
Driving license
Election card.
Ration card
National Population Registration

Note - It is not mandatory to update all information. The Bank Account number, PAN, and Aadhaar are mandatory to update on the UAN portal.

You should update these details if you haven't updated the details on the EPFO portal yet, The KYC update in the EPF offers the following benefits.

If your KYC of EPF UAN is completed, you will not face any delays during the EPF money transfer or withdrawal.
Online EPF withdrawal is not allowed if the KYC information is not updated with the UAN.
Your claim may get rejected If the bank account details have not been updated.
The EPF member will not receive any SMS alert without updating the information.
If the PAN card details are not updated then the return will be charged at a higher rate than TDS.

Updating KYC on the UAN portal is pretty easy. To update the details, follow these steps given below.

#STEP 1

Login to the EPFO UAN portal – Log in here using your UAN credential. In the Manage tab, you will find the menu ‘KYC’ and Contact detail. Like in the picture below -

Select the KYC document, which you want to update in the EPFO UAN

Once you select, the system will allow you to enter the document number and name as per the Document. If you are updating the bank account you also need to provide the IFSC code of the bank. For Driving license and Passport, entering expiry date is compulsory of passport and DL. You will be able to update your Bank Account Number, PAN, Aadhaar, Passport, Driving License number, etc. PAN, Bank Details, and Aadhaar are mandatory for KYC.

#STEP 4

Once you complete, press the save button. You will be able to see the message "KYC Data Update completed successfully".If there is no error you will see “KYC Pending for Approval” with the details of modification in the “Pending KYC Section”. The status of KYC will be shown as pending until the details get approved by the employer.
In case the UAN KYC details are not entered correctly you can press the button “Delete” in the column. This will delete submitted KYC information and reenter the details.

#Step 5

Once the employer approves, the status of the change will be changed as “Approved by the employer”. You will also receive an SMS for the changes made by you. In front of the document, you will see "verified" in front of the document.

Apart from the KYC, you can also modify your contact details on the portal. In order to do so, please go to “Manage>>Contact Details” from the menu. You will be able to change your registered mobile number and e-mail address.

For the verification, OTP will be sent on the registered mobile number. The details will not get changed immediately.
The facility provided by EPFO to update KYC on the UAN portal will bring in multiple benefits to the EPFO subscribers.
If you have not updated your details I would recommend updating them now.

      1. The Farmer's Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and facilitation) Bill, 2020

The purpose of the bill is to open the way for the marketing of agricultural activities outside APMCs for the farmers.

The bill also helps to remove the hurdle in inter-state trade.

Earlier, the production from the farmers sold in mandis, these mandis run by Agriculture Produce Marketing Committees (APMCs) and in mandis licensed middlemen to buy from farmers and sell these to the retailers and big traders to get the commission.

Positives of the Bill

Under this bill, Farmers will get the option to sell their products either in Mandis or markets. It helps them to increase their income due to the competition in price.

This will help to generate new jobs in the rural area by the small and medium Entrepreneurs and the Agri-firms.

This will help the farmers to exchange their goods with good value. Apart from this, people will get motivation and knowledge to become Entrepreneurs.

2. The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020

The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020 aimed at providing the facility of contract farming, where a buyer contracts to buy the crop at a certain price at the beginning of a season to make the farmer risk free.

Positives of the Bill

The bill will empower the farmers by giving them a pre-agreed price for the crop irrespective of uncertainty and fluctuations of markets.

Whatsapp messenger

Whatsapp messenger, free messaging, with voice and video call. Apart from this, a user can also send voice messages and text messages, photos, videos, documents, and other media.

Whatsapp messenger is an American freeware which is owned by Facebook. Whatsapp can be accessible on Android devices and on iPhone devices as well. It also runs on the web as well as long as the user of the Whatsapp app is connected to the Internet. Whatsapp has more than 2 billion active users.

Signal Messenger (Software)

Signal Messenger Software app is an end to end encrypted messaging app, which is developed by the Signal foundation in 2018. The app can only be used with an active internet connection. Users can send the messages individually person to person and group as well. Signal Users can send voice messages and text messages, it also includes files, images, video, and other media. The Android version of the app can optionally function as an SMS app.

Signal's software is free to download from the app store and it is open-source. it also has an official client app for iOS users as well as a web app on desktops.

The Signal Foundation is an NGO that was founded in February 2018 with an initial investment of $50 million by Brian Acton. As of June 2020, Signal had more than 32.4 million total downloads, and the app had approximately 20 million monthly active users as of December 2020.

Telegram Messenger (Software)

Telegram app is also free for the users just like Whatsapp messenger and Signal Software. This app is also end-to-end encrypted optionally. Users can use the "Secret Chat" feature for the end to end encryption which is optional. Users are allowed to send text messages, voice messages. Telegram users can also send media to another telegram user like photos, videos, and other files.

Telegram messenger was initially launched for iOS users on 14 August 2013 and it was available for Android users in October 2013 by Nikolai Durov and Pavel Durov. It surpassed 500 million monthly active users. It was the 8th most downloaded app worldwide in 2020.

So, as WhatsApp has recently updated its privacy policy, it took rose the controversy around the globe. Now the main question that arises here is

Is our personal information safe on Whatsapp?

This question is keep coming since then the WhatsApp has updated its privacy policy. But now the Whatsapp has issued its clarification regarding its privacy policy. which is mentioned below

This question is keeps coming and it's become a riddle by now because no one is getting a satisfactory answer to the question. They say that their data is end-to-end encrypted and there nowhere the data can be shared anywhere.

Now even though WhatsApp has cleared the rumors on this, because of these lot of questions, there are two other messaging apps known as Telegram and Signal which have come to light as well.

Now let's have a look at these apps what kind of features these apps provide and what kind of data these apps collect in return.

So the first feature is end-to-end encrypted which all these three apps provide but in the telegram, the end-to-end is optional by the user. If a user wants a conversation to be end-to-end encrypted, he has to use the secret chat option. This option will be safe. Hence, the normal chats are not end-to-end encrypted as they are on the WhatsApp and signal app.

To protect the data and privacy of a user, it protects the metadata as well. It makes the signal app one step ahead of these apps. The signal app work as a sealed sender, this means even the signal app not going to know who is sending messages to whom.

All three apps provide group chat features. Whatsapp has a limit of 250 people in a group and if we talk about the telegram app, it has a limit of 2 lakh people can get added to a single group. It has many more features like a bot, polls, quizzes, hashtags which will take the experience to the top level.

The group voice and video calls feature are available in all three apps. But WhatsApp has one additional feature which signal and telegram did not have i.e. Status or stories, where user can upload a short video of max. 30 sec. and photos as well.

Talking about the chat backup, WhatsApp provides two options to get your backup which is google drive and on the cloud, wherein telegram, users are allowed to get their backup on their own telegram cloud drive. And in the signal app, it provides you to backup your data on your mobile-only.

Whatsapp and signal provide the feature of disappearing messages while telegram doesn’t.

Talking about self-destructing messages, the telegram has an upper hand to WhatsApp and signal.

The new Labour Code 2020. The Lower House has passed the new Labour Codes. There were a total of three bills passed by the Indian Senate namely

Indian Relation Code Bill, 2020
Code on Social Security Bill, 2020 and
Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code Bill, 2020

The Government of India proposed to expand the social security by including the migrant workers and it will also provide the institutions to Hire and Fire workers without the permission of the Government.

Here are the Key proposals of the Labour Code 2020

1. Indian Relation Code Bill, 2020

The government has proposed to increase more conditions in the Industrial Relation Code Bill, 2020 in which restricting the right of the worker's to strike and making the employer to increase in the threshold relating to layoffs and retrenchment having 300 workers from 100 workers or more than at present. It will help the employer for hiring and firing workers without government intervention.

The Committee said in its report which was submitted earlier this year suggested that hiking the limit to 300 workers will help in the increase in employment and will decrease in retrenchment.

The Industrial Relation code will be applicable for every industrialist establishment where there are 300 or more than three hundred workers are employed or were employed on any day of the preceding 12 months.

According to code the "worker" is defined as the person who is employed in a skilled or unskilled, manual, technical or any capacity drawing monthly salary of up to Rs. 18000.

2. Code on Social Security

Under the code on social security, the government has made few changes for other than organised sector such as home based worker, self employed. The government will setup a fund for these unorganised workers. The state government has also included in the same to make the security funds for the workers.

The Code clearrifies that the scheme for the workers will be funded through the combination of central government, state government and the aggregators. Apart from this, there are few changes have been made in the definition of few terms in the bill of 2020 which included,

Changing the definition of the word 'employees' to include the workers who employed through contracts
Given new definition to the mogrant workers to include the workers from other states.
Given new definition to the "platform workers"

3. Code on Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions, 2020

According to the new Code on occupational safety, health and working conditions,2020 a new definition has given to the factory which is notifies as the place where the manufacturing process is happening which hires 20 workers which is carried out using power and fortee workers where the manufacturing is carried without power.

1. The new bill has the time limit of working hours i.e. eight hours.

2. The women cn work wherever they want to in all types of work like it can be dangerous or hazardous, for that, the government will provide adequate safety prior to their employment.

Analyts says that it will reduce the rights of the labour in the small organisation in which there are less than 300 employees. It means that the government is providing the employer the liberty in terms of hire and fire. This will completely destroy the security of the employment. "said Professor and Economist K.R. Shyam of XLRI.

The code Industrial Relation code also lays conditions on carrying out a legal strike. The condition has been laid in IR code which means the employees have to provide the 60 days notice period to the employer.

It means that the Industrial code proposes that no person can go on strike without giving a notice period of 60 days, who is employes in the industry. The government has made it legal, and no one can go on strike without the notice period.

The standing committee has recommended against the expansion of the required notice period for the strike ahead of the public utility services like natural gas, water, telephone, electricity and other essential services.

Presently, a person who is employed in the service of public utility service can't went onto strike until he gives a notice period for six weeks before going on the strike.

So to overcome the issue, TRAI has asked DoT to add zero before dialing from Landline to Mobile phone users for that the new guidelines have been issued by the Department of Telecommunication.

The new guidelines have been issued by the DoT, that has made it compulsory to prefix 0 "ZERO" before a number for making a call from a landline number to a mobile phone number, which will be effective from the coming year i.e. January 15, 2021, earlier it was January 1, 2021, which will give enough time to the telecom companies to make adjustments.

The notification has come on November 20, 2021, regarding modification of the dialing pattern from fixed line numbers to cellular mobile numbers. The modification took place in order to ensure that there are enough numbering resources available for fixed-line and mobile services, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has recommended in the month of May and the same has been accepted by (DoT) in the month of November.

The new guidelines which are issued by the regulatory of the concern notification are mentioned below:-

1. The New guidelines by DoT to prefix "ZERO" to make calls move comes after the sector regulator, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) recommended the move to create enough numbering space for telecom regulating companies.

2. The Department of Telecommunication (DoT) in a notification said the fixed-line users will soon begin hearing the announcement apprising them of the coming move. The message will be played whenever a fixed-line user will dial a mobile number without prefixing 0.

3. All the fixed-line subscribers should be provided with `0' dialing facility, that is, STD dialing facility," said the circular posted on DoT's website.

To use the service on the mobile phone, you just have to dial *99# on your mobile device then wait for a few moments. After a few seconds, a pop-up will flash on the screen. Apart from transferring funds, you can check bank balance, you can change UPI PIN, and many more. One can transfer funds through your mobile number, UPI ID, IFSC, and Bank Account Number, and many more, you can also request a transfer of money using a mobile number and UPI PIN and even you can use desired services by just pressing the number which is mentioned adjacent to the service.

You can even transfer the amount to a person who is not even a NUUP service user. To use this service on your mobile device, the mobile user must be registered with their mobile number with the Bank.

There are few points to remember before using the feature

One thing to note that there is no such threat for using the service. This can not be misused even if you lose your phone as it asks for the UPI PIN to make a successful transaction. But it is highly recommended that if you lost your mobile device, make sure you contact your bank so that one can not misuse it and be on the safer side.
One point to remember is the once you have initiated the transaction, you can not be reversed, cancel, or stop as this service works on Immediate Payment Service (IMPS), which means the instant transfer of funds. In case if you are facing any issue with this service, you can contact the concerned bank or your telecom operator as per your concerns.

SSC CGL Educational Qualification

In giving the SSC CGL Exam, a candidate should have a Graduation degree in any discipline from the recognized University or Institution. The Educational Qualifications may vary from posts to posts in SC CGL.

Important Note

Those candidates who are in the final year can also apply for the SSC CGL post, as they must possess their graduation on or before 01-01-2020

There is a certain Physical Fitness requirement for the Inspector posts or Sub Inspector Post.

SSC CGL 2019 Salary

The salary for the SSC CGL 2019 is starting from Rs. 25500 to Rs. 1,51,100 according to the post the salary may vary.

Application fees for SSC CGL 2019

The Application fee for the candidate is Rs 100 for the General candidates and OBC candidates and for SC/ST/PH and female candidates, there is no provision of the fees for filling the form.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern

SSC CGL conducts the exam in four Tiers for the various posts.

Tier - 1 Objective Multiple Choice Computer-Based Examination (Online)

Tier - 2 Objective Multiple Choice Computer-Based Examination (Online)

Tier -3 Descriptive Paper in English/ Hindi Pen and Paper Mode

Tier - 4 Skill Test/ Computer Proficiency Test Computer-Based (if Applicable)

Before start preparing for the SSC CGL Exam, Make sure you make a note of the exam pattern and syllabus of SSC CGL 2019 to get the desired marks.

There are some points to remember before sitting in the SSC CGL 2019 Exam

Tier I and Tier II will be Online Computer-based exam of SSC CGL
Tier III exam of Descriptive paper will be of 100 marks and the time limit is 60 minutes in pen and paper mode
There is no sectional cut-off and the Tier I exam will be of 60 minutes.

There is the minimum qualification for Tier I, II, and Tier III in the SSC CGL is mentioned below

OBC/EWS 25%
Others 20%

Exam Pattern of SSC CGL Tier I 2019

The Tier I is an Online based objective exam of 100 Questions in four Sections. The marks for each question are 2 marks each, making it a total of 200 marks.

There will be four sections and each section will have 25 questions each with 50 is maximum marks.
The four sections of SSC CGL 2019 are

General Intelligence and Reasoning
General Awareness
Quantitative Aptitude
English Comprehension

The Exam duration for the SSC CGL 2019 is 60 minutes of Tier I.

Points to remember

In SSC CGL 2019 Exam, Tier I Exam will carry a negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong question attempted.
The exam duration is 80 minutes ( 1 hour 20 minutes) for the visually handicapped candidates.

SSC CGL 2019 Tier IV

Tier IV of SSC CGL 2019 consists of a couple of skill tests. These are

1. Data Entry Speed Test (DEST): To test the speed of the candidate, this typing test is conducted by the SSC CGL. In this form of test, a candidate is given a paper with the material printed on the paper in English, the exam duration is 15 minutes for this typing test in the SSC CGL 2019.

2. Computer Proficiency Test (CPT): In this computer test, there will be 3 modules in the CPT of SSC CGL 2019. The three modules are

Word Processing
Spread Sheet
Generation of Slides.

This test will only be held for the selected posts which are

Assistant Section Officer in CSS, MEA, and AFHQ,
Assistant in Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO)
Assistant in Ministry of Mines
Inspector

3. Document Verification: Document verification is the final step of the selection of the SSC CGL 2019.

Interview Details for SSC CGL 2019

In SSC CGL 2019, there is no interview for the recruitment. The candidate has to clear all the Tier of the SSC CGL Exam 2019. On the basis of the marks scored in all the Tier, the merit list is generated. A candidate who has successfully cleared all the phases of the exam will be appointed for the post in their respective departments.
