Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Siennas

Hi loves!

I found a new red lipstick that I just love to wear this summer.

If you've seen me in the last couple of months, I've been wearing really bold, red lipsticks. Usually MAC's Ruby Woo and Russian Red.

I want to tone it down a bit so that my lips won't look too striking. Luckily, I found the lipstick shade I was looking for in a very affordable price!

This isn't the first time I bought a lipstick from the brand. I had two and they are also in their matte lipstick collection - Mauvey and Off Beat.

I'm not a fan of the packaging.

It's not of good quality and the design is boring. The color at the end falls off easily. I know I shouldn't expect much since it's very affordable anyway, but I know some brands that are of the same price range but looks better. :P

So anyway...

The shade is Siennas.

This can be quite drying so I use a matte lip balm underneath.

It is quite long lasting so I love that about it.

I'm quite fond of using this nowadays. I think the shade looks nice on most skin tones too.

Just a quick swatch post again!

I bought this very affordable single eyeshadow that I'm actually using as a blush!

Pinkies Collections Single Eyeshadow in Salmon

Bought it during my trip to Cebu where I first bought some items from the brand. The SA's there were super friendly and even gave me a free case.

It was originally cased on a plastic packaging with only the pan.

One eyeshadow is Php 70.00.

Labeled on the packaging are the production and expiration dates.

Have I mentioned that my favorite color is salmon pink? :)

Here's a swatch on my arm.

It's quite pigmented but a bit powdery. I barely use it on my eyes lately because I use it more as a blush!

I just love this shade!

Tony Moly Floria Active Peeling Gel

Hey everyone!

Among all the GWP's (gifts with purchase) I've received from buying beauty products, the one I'll be talking about in this post is probably the best of them all since I got a full size product! And I was actually surprised since I the price of what I bought was more or less 1k only!

Tony Moly Floria Active Peeling Gel

This tube retails for Php 478.00.

It is housed in a tube which makes it easy to control the amount of product you take out.

The design is very simple compared to some of the products from the brand.

At the back, there are labels, directions and list of ingredients written in english.

I was happy that I got something like this since one of my major skin problems is my acne scars. I use this once a week to peel off dead skin on my face.

The product has a gel-like consistency. Quite easy to spread all over the face.

Just massage it to the skin in around a minute and you will see some "dead skin" coming off. After that, just wash it off with warm water.

I was amazed at first that the amount of dead skin removed was that much and thought that maybe it's just the product... So I tried it on different surfaces and not on skin. First, on a wooden table, nothing happened. Then, on a leather wallet, nothing happened as well. I was somehow convinced after that. What made me like it is that after a few more times of using this product, I got less of the dead skin so I think that since I exfoliate every week with this that I don't have as much dead skin than the first time I've tried it. And my skin feels so soft as well. This does very subtle peeling though so don't expect that the scars would get lighter instantly.

What I like about this is you get to peel without the drying and not like the peeling products that causes skin to flake and makes makeup application look bad. This didn't dry my face (my skin is very oily) but still make sure to use moisturizer. I also didn't experience any irritations.

Hey dears!

I just received my Salad box for the month of April yesterday.

I wasn't suppose to get one for that month but I forgot to unsubscribe my recurring transactions. Haha! That's why I was hoping that this one contains really good stuff so that I won't regret forgetting it.

So the items are cased in the classic Salad box package.

The theme is about Nature. What's with April and nature? The other subscription box that I ordered has the same theme. Haha!

Review : Etude House Sweet Recipe Baby Choux Base

Hi loves!

I'm currently loving makeup primers/bases right now. They just make my look better in terms of finish and lasting power. Though you have to be careful of which product you use since I believe one has a different effect depending on your foundation/ BB cream you use or even your skin type.

Anyway, I received these two bases from Etude House during their Sweet Recipe Launch and I have to admit, these are really good! I'm in-love with them! I think these are my favorite products from their Sweet Recipe Line!

Etude House Sweet Recipe Baby Choux Base

This is Php 678.00 each and is available in 3 shades - Mint Choux, Berry Choux and Peach Choux.

Has SPF25 and PA++. A jar carries 25g of the product.

The box it comes with is just too cute!

The ones I have and will be sharing my thoughts on in this post are the mint choux and peach choux shades.

And the packaging is gorgeous! I don't think I can throw it away when I used up all the product! Though this can be bulky and a bit heavy if you intend on carrying one around in your bag. I do wish they have a spatula since dipping your fingers in the jar isn't quite sanitary.

Mint Choux - For those with redness on the skin usually from acne or some skin irritations.

Peach Choux - Ideal for warm toned skin.

Both of them differ in scent (mint and peach) but are both sweet! I loooove how they smell like. But no worries for those who do not like scents in their face products, for the fragrance these products have are barely noticeable when applied.

They are very creamy but lightweight. Easy to spread and blend!

Below are pictures of my cheek before and after application (I used Mint Choux):

The redness is gone and my face, brightened! It even covered some of my acne scars!

All the shades have almost the same effect. They offer a bit of coverage, they brighten/whiten the skin, gives a dewy glow, somehow conceal pores for a smoother looking skin especially when a foundation/ BB cream is applied on top. Just be careful on how much product you put since too much can make you look super pale.

It doesn't do much on oil control but I usually wear a foundie that has that, so no biggie for me. These bases help my foundie/ BB cream look better and stay longer without caking! Though the peach and the berry choux can be worn alone (I think the mint one can make you look too pale on its own even in small amounts).

Prolongs makeup
Makes my foundie/BB cream look better and more natural
Has SPF

Cute packaging!

It can be quite unsanitary if you just dip your fingers in the jar since it doesn't have a spatula.

You bet I will! But I guess these two will last me a long while. I surely recommend it to all those who have dull skin who needs an instant radiant finish and extra glow. It really is one of the best makeup bases I've tried so far. :D

Review : Kiehl's Actively Correcting & Beautifying BB Cream

Mine's been productive for I have cleaned and reorganized not just my room but also the entire living room upstairs. It was tiring but looking at how the rooms look like now is so worth it! Extra workout for me too!

Anyway, I would like to share with you a new favorite of mine.

Kiehl's Actively Correcting & Beautifying BB Cream

I have it in Natural (the darkest shade and warmest tone). It has 2 other shades, Fair and Light.

This is around Php 2k. I believe this is the first BB Cream by Kiehl's.

The packaging is of tube form much like most BB Creams out there. The design and fonts resemble the usual look of most Kiehl's products. A tube carries 30ml of the product.

I'm glad that it has SPF 50 and PA+++ and Vitamin C. I also like that it is paraben free!

The shade is just right for my skin on my first swatch between my jaw and neck. But since my skin is acidic, it gets a shade darker. Maybe I should head to the beach to get tanner? :P

It gives a light to medium coverage and it doesn't leave my skin grayish. It looks so natural!

It also gives a somewhat dewy finish too, no extra sparkles and not too matte that my face looks flat. This BB Cream is very lightweight that it is so easy to blend on skin.

I wouldn't wear this alone though. I am used to having more coverage when it comes to my makeup since I have some acne scars that I want to disappear from my sight. I usually use concealer and a light powder foundation on top. Alone, it would only take around 2 hours before my face gets so oily but with powder on, my face gets oily much later. Though it doesn't have oil control, my face doesn't cake when I use this.

Never encountered breakouts nor other irritations with this.

What I LIKE:

SPF50 and PA+++

Contains Vitamin C

Paraben Free

Moisturizing

Natural Finish

Near my skin tone

Easy to spread and blend

Covers redness and some skin imperfections

Overall, I like this BB Cream. It gives all you need to put on your face when heading out - moisturizer, sunscreen and some coverage. I recommend this to those who prefer a natural finish on their skin. I would have loved it too if it wasn't for my oily skin and the acne scars that I want to hide so much.

Missplpify's Birthday Celebration!

Hey guys!

Today was my good friend, Iya (Missplpify)'s birthday! Yayyyy!

She invited me to her birthday celebration at Persian House, Magallanes for lunch.

I haven't been to that resto before but I'm aware of the place where it's located and I was glad that my bro was kind enough to drive me to the venue.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by the birthday girl and I get to meet her friends and family. After a few minutes, my blogger self can't help but take pictures of the place and the food!

Just look at her cake and the cute little Iya cupcakes!

First off, the interiors of the place...

The place looks so warm and comfy...

Tables were decorated with vases with these flowers...

What I like most of all are the patterns on the walls and even on the table cloth!

And here comes the food pics!!

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to remember the exact names of the food. :(

The pink cupcakes are so cute... and yummy too! The strawberry frosting was so delicious!

The pic on the right contain these blueberry cheesecake-like cupcakes! Good thing I took one home. It was delish as well!

We also had a cup of Golden Spoon's yogurt. We get to pick what flavor and toppings to eat. I just digged-in when I received my cup. I just love every scoop of it! Perfect for the summer heat!

After a refreshing meal and fun conversations, we sang to the birthday girl...

Yesterday, I received my Glamourbox for the month of April!

I am not a regular subscriber to any box anymore. So for this month I decided to try get a Glamourbox... BUT I forgot to cancel my recurring subscription to Salad Box so I will be receiving an April Box on that one too. Haha!

So anyway, back to my unboxing of my glamourbox...

Review : Krave Anti-Zit Splash

Hello dears!

Now that I am almost at my mid 20's, I have to take care of my skin better than before. Cleanse, Tone and Moisturize are the three things I make sure I do daily and that the products I use are safe and effective.

Krave Anti-Zit Splash

with Melaleuca oil & Salix Nigra

This 50ml bottle is Php 395.00.

I have it in their newer packaging. I think this looks more chic compared to the older one. It could look too plain though but I don't mind it like that since it somehow looks clean which I like with my skin care products.

The bottle isn't pretty though. The fonts are hard to read if the lighting in the room isn't bright enough. It is durable but doesn't look like it. I like the cap because it really does seal it and I didn't encounter any spills even if I brought the bottle along when I go out of town.

Here are some details at the box:

As recommended, I use this twice a day - during mornings and before I sleep at night. It has a mild scent and a mild cooling effect. No sting at all unlike those toners with alcohol. It effectively cleanses my face as well clearing all the dirt that my cleanser hasn't gotten rid of yet. This is very mild to the skin so I didn't experience any skin irritations either.

It didn't refine my large pores though and I still get my usual pimples. I tried concentrating the product to my zits to dry them faster but it barely does anything. I had to use other products to do the job. I was disappointed that it didn't do much on my problems on zits and pores which are the entire reasons why I took this toner. I would have just bought my previous toner who did the same exact thing which is Celeteque and it is much more affordable. Oh well.

LIKES:

* Cleans face effectively

* No sting but has a refreshing cooling effect

* Mildly scented

* Locally available (but only sold online for now)

* No skin irritations

What I don't LIKE:

* Packaging

* Didn't refine my large pores

* Didn't do much on my pimples - I still get zits here and there and it doesn't dry the pimples either. (I probably need a stronger formula)

Some of you might think this is pricey but this product comes in 20g! Quite a lot so you will enjoy a plenty amount of bronzer!

The packaging is classy and I love the tangerine color. I also like that the cover is transparent so you will be able to see the shade of the product. It doesn't come with any applicator.

This bronzer comes in 2 shades. The shade here is Sunkissed while a darker version is Terra. This one I'm sharing with you is actually my sister's. She's tanner now and prefers doing a warm, bronzy makeup!

I love that the bronze effect isn't close to the shade of a brick which I encounter in some bronzers I get. I love the gold shimmers it comes with. It gives you the beach glow that is just gorgeous! This product is so easy to blend, especially to our Filipina skin!

Review : San San Gel Eyeliner

Hello ladies!

Dawn and I are eyeliner junkies... she just generally likes them, and I am just in need of them to make my eyes look less droopy and sleepy. So imagine our excitement over getting this product from San San.

And here's our review on the product.

First off, this comes in two colors, your classic black and brown liners.

This product has Paraben.

Packaging

We think San San has definitely made a very very good product with this gel eyeliners. The packaging is practical and very ergonomic.

It's small so it's very portable. Although I don't particularly think it has any sense of cuteness or appeal in terms of making it very attractive to the eyes but that's ok, it makes up for it's practicality.

Of course, like most gel liner bottles, the cap is screwed on and it comes with it's own brush, which is conveniently attached to the cap. Just pull it off when you need to use it, and push it in when you're done. :) Very practical don't you think? This way, you save space when you're travelling and you lessen the chances of losing the brush.

The accompanying brush is very easy to use and great for pinpoint work. It also gets a good amount of product and is stiff enough to allow you that control you so need when doing those tight lines. :)

Product Formulation

The consistency is quite commendable as well. It does not dry out fast. I'd say, it's not putty like, compared to other gel liners I've used, it's a bit loose-er something like that... an in between of gels and liquid liners.

As you can see, the color is very bold. You do not need go over it a few times to make it bold. Although it takes a while for it to dry up.

Applied on the lids.

Lasting Power

This is a very long lasting and durable product. Here it is applied on the forearm...

... smudged (very smudge-proofed)

... splashed with water then smudged (water-proof)

Used a hand sanitizer and smudged, still there!

Using makeup remover and smudged once.

However, it does melt a little when you get oily lids... so the lasting power depends on how oily your lids get and how fast it oils up. But it lasts for a good and decent 12 hours, more or less. :)

So that's our review on this amazing product. The price is around Php 115.00.

I agree with most of what's in this press release!

The brushes are so soft!!! I can't take my hands off of them! I enjoyed doing my usual makeup application with the two new brushes I have. These are certainly a must-try! And what's great is that they are on a huge discount! :D

Makeup Experiment #8 : Edward Cullen Inspired (Rugged Version)

Hey everyone!

It's been a while since I did a makeup experiment (last one was back in August, 2012). It's kind of hard to find people willing to be my guinea pigs mostly because of their busy schedules. But at long last! I finally convinced someone to do a makeup experiment session with and her request is to be...

Edward Cullen!

But a bit more rugged... Another Boy Version Makeover! I keep getting requests for those. :P

Anyway, meet my model for this experiment, Ken. She was introduced to me by my college friend, Renz. We met sometime ago at Eastwood and a few days later, we were doing this makeup experiment! Talk about a very willing victim! Haha!

She wanted to transform into Edward Cullen.
I, myself, haven't watched or read the series so I had to base everything on the pictures given to me by google. I guess it was a bit easy to do since Ken's features somehow resembles some of Robert Pattinson's like the lips and a bit of his face shape.

The tricky part is Ken requested that she gets some facial hair too! I know Edward Cullen doesn't grow beard anymore since he is a vampire (correct me if I am wrong. :P) but Ken just wanted to see herself with such. :P

So without further delay, here are the pictures.

Snoe Rouge Deluxe Complete Lip Care in Plum Crazy

Hello dears!

I've been trying to control myself from buying new lipsticks since I have too much in my stash but I just had to buy this shade from Snoe.

Why you ask? Well, this shade is completely different from the ones I have. It's way darker than any lipsticks I've sported before.

This is actually my first lip product from Snoe. :)

As usual, the packaging looks great! I just love Snoe's packaging! This is probably one of the things that sets them apart from most local brands.

So the shade is plum crazy.

It's a really dark shade of plum that looks so classy, serious and sophisticated all at the same time.

I like doing different looks, even crazy creative makeovers. So I think this will come in handy! Vampire makeover, anyone? :P

Some of you may hesitate to buy it since it looks so dark but if you see the swatches below, I think you'll see that it is very much wearable. Especially during evening night outs!

Such great pigmentation, right?

Applying it is easy since it glides smoothly on the lips because of it's creamy texture. Also never experienced drying and lip bleeds and it's quite long lasting too!

What's Our Favorite Mocha Cupcake?

Hello everyone!

Let's take a break from all the beauty talk first and go with something most of us also love - Cupcakes! This isn't the first time that I posted something regarding cupcakes. I guess, besides cheesecakes and dulce de leches, cupcakes are probably a favorite sweet treat of mine. :P

Anyway, I would just like to share with all of you a new favorite of mine... a certain mocha cupcake that my siblings and I agreed that it probably is one of the best mocha flavored cupcakes we've tried!

Everyday Mom's Mocha Cupcake!

This was introduced to us by my brother. He usually goes out and try different food places - sort of like a foodie but not quite yet. He bought a box containing these and my sis, Trace (when she was here visiting from AU), and I completely fell in-love with them!

What made is stand-out among the rest of the cupcakes we've tried is that its sweetness isn't overwhelming. The cake was moist and the cream on top's sweetness was just right but filled with mocha goodness! We enjoyed every bite of it and we craved for more!

If you're not familiar with Everyday Mom, here's a description of what they are about from their Facebook Page:

They offer different flavored cupcakes such as the black and white cupcakes (rich choco cupcakes with cheesecake center!!) and carrot cupcakes. A cupcake is affordable at around Php 40.00.

They also have some coffee jelly which I like as well.

On the shelves store some muscovado banana bread, chocolate banana cupcakes and walnut banana bread. A heavenly dessert place for banana lovers!

I think they also have brownies in different flavors too!

Oh, I just have to take pictures of these cute words placed on the walls of the place.

It makes the warm, welcoming, yellow interior looking more friendly than it already is!

Among their products besides the mocha cupcake that my bro introduced to us, I've tried the black & white cupcake and coffee jelly. Yum!

On my next visit...

I bought the carrot cupcake but I still prefer the mocha cupcake. I guess we've already found our HG product from the place! :P

I wish they'll have a vanilla or a white chocolate cupcake someday. I'd love to try one since up until now, my most loved cupcake is the Vanilla Sunshine one from Cupcakes by Sonja. That place is just too far away from our place... Oh how fun it would be if Everyday Mom would start serving my favorite flavors too!

Laneige Cool Stay Powder in Light Beige

Hi guys!

Here's a perfect summer product from Laneige!

Why do I say so? Because it has a cooling effect when you apply it! Neat, right??

I have it in Light Beige but it is available in another shade - Dark Beige.

Life span is 12 months! :)

The product is Php 1,600 (Yikes! So expensive). But I got this when it was on sale some months back. I got it for half it's original price. :P

I'm glad that they have the instructions in english as well. Most of the Korean products I've tried usually do not include english instructions. :P

I made the mistake of taking off the whole sticker so it does get messy when you carry around the product or even if you just accidentally drop it. :P

Anyway, it is cased in this clean looking tub.

It can be sealed tightly so you're assured that it won't spill out the powder.

It also includes this super amazing puff!

Probably one of the best in terms of quality. It's just so weird that it doesn't fit the container. That means I had to place it somewhere else. I also have difficulty getting the product from the container since the puff is too big.

So here's the product on my arm:

It's very fine and you instantly feel the cooling sensation. I was so amazed the first time I tried it.

When blended.

It has a light coverage, barely noticeable on me so I usually top it on my foundation. And oh! It helps cover pores! It has a matte finish and it really does help control oil on my face. So perfect for this summer! :)

Wild Peach Cosmetics Customizable Cosmetic Palette

Hi guys!

Looking for ways to lessen the items in your stash but can't seem to decide which to let go and which ones will stay?

Well, I have that problem too! That's why I'm so thankful that I got this item from my February Glamourbox!

Wild Peach Cosmetics Customizable Cosmetic Palette

I have it in personal size, I believe this is the small one. This is Php 298.00 each.

It comes with a mirror so this palette is really perfect to carry along your bag since it's also small enough to fit in the kikay kit.

The product description says it all! I often buy refills since I like to buy a lot of makeup but I don't like that it takes up too much of my inventory space. So having something like this will keep your products organized and you also get to help the environment!

So to show you what this palette can do, here are some of the blushes that I like but I'm willing to throw out the packaging since they look so old and used up... :P

Good thing this comes with a step-by-step instruction on how to depot and place the products on the palette...

I first removed the sticker at the bottom of the pot (that's the one that has the shade number, etc.)...

Then place it on top of a candle to melt the glue. I used a safety pin to push around the areas to determine if the pan is already loose from the container since it's too thick if I poke it from the bottom. :P

Pushing it off can be quite tricky so make sure that the glue is completely melted.

And voila! It easily glided off of the container!

Since it is magnetic, the metal pans stick to it nicely. But they have stickers for those that aren't made of metal though my Glamourbox didn't have stickers included. :P

So there you go! My blushes are looking pretty comfy in my Wild Peach Cosmetics Customizable Cosmetic Palette. I still have a space for one more shade... currently looking for a nice one to include in this group. :)

They offer different designs as well! They also have a larger palette in case you want more stuff to put together. Quite handy for people who travel a lot and for makeup artists!
