We were first introduced to Restoran Lin Kee Steam Fish Head, Taman Orkid Desa in Cheras Kuala Lumpur sometime in March this year. We have been revisiting this eatery quite regularly.

Its menu is extensive, flavourful and rather cheap to say the least. Good service, good quality food and food serving speed is amazingly fast as well.

Last Sunday was the third visit by our gang of retirees who ventured there after attending the Sunday Eucharistic Mass at Infant Jesus Convent, Taman Midah. A fabulous lunch that was treated by my darling spouse's sister, Mary Chin. A great bonding time while enjoying the sumptuous food!

The Harbour Seafood Restaurant @ Cheras Business Centre in Kuala Lumpur is a marvellous eatery, serving mostly Chinese and Malaysian cuisines.

We've been to this restaurant not less than five times and will definitely dine there again.

Great ambience, clean environment, fabulous service and food ordered are served rather quickly. Menu is extensive too. Super fresh seafood. If you're a seafood lover, this is the joint to venture to!

It was our beloved daughter-in-law, Yanti's birthday celebration.

She chose the venue and it delighted us too as it was a first time visit to the cafe for all of us!

We had lunch at Greyhound Cafe, Jalan Bukit Bintang in Kuala Lumpur.

Their menu was extensive for customers to select from. The dishes were fabulous and yummilicious, so too the cakes and drinks. We had a wonderful bonding time together and enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Food were served quite quickly and the waiters were courteous and knowledgeable with the menu.

Much thanks to Stella Boey for her generosity and extravagance for treating my darling spouse John and I to an International Hi Tea that serves a variety of local and International delights with more than 70 flavourful dishes to choose from. Prices are very reasonable... for child and senior citizen, it's only RM39+. And you can indulge from 12.00 pm to 3.30 pm. Plus a cosy ambience and good service. Great, huh?

Dinner at China Treasures, Sime Darby Convention Centre

Our family had dined at China Treasures many times over many years, with the recent visit in September and October this year.

A great halal restaurant that are visited by diners of various races!

Opportunity came when there was an offer on Groupon with a 50% discount. Real value for money, paying RM60 instead of RM120.

Of course, we grab the chance of eat smart! ;-)

We celebrated our younger son's birthday there in September. Menu was extensive and we chose what he loved most.

Farewell Maxi, our dearest and beloved companion!

May 11th, 2016 had been a very, very sad day for my beloved spouse, John and I. (*tears*)

Our dearest, darling and beloved pet, Maxi had gone to heaven, a better place where there's no more pain and suffering. He had been sick for about 2 months with a weak heart and lungs, worsening as time progressed with water retention in his lungs.

It had been an ordeal seeing him suffering. R.I.P our lovable and adorable boy!

Dim Sum at Restaurant Tim Ho Wan, Mid Valley

My beloved spouse, John and I were chauffeured by our darling elder son, David together with our daughter-in- law, Kellie to Mid Valley in Kuala Lumpur for lunch.

It was supposed to be a surprise... we weren't told at which eatery we were to dine.

We walked to Tim Ho Wan restaurant and were surprised at the lunch crowd. This restaurant was voted #1 in 2015 as the best restaurant in Asia. No wonder it is so very popular.

It served Hong Kong style dim sum and other favourite classic dishes.

All the dishes were so flavourful and yummilicious that needed no sauces at all. We thoroughly enjoyed eating all the delightful dishes.

Hmm... looks like it is not necessary to fly to Hong Kong to enjoy their kind of special dim sum!

Will definitely return again to this popular restaurant at Mid Valley, Kuala Lumpur! ;-)

Short Vacation in Cameron Highlands

Recently a group of seven retirees, including my beloved spouse, John and I travelled to Cameron Highlands in Pahang for a 3 nights/4 days short vacation.

An awesome holiday, we enjoyed ourselves tremendously with the right company and fantastic food to savour.

The first night we had a wonderful steamboat dinner in Brinchang. Hmm... rather remarkable that they were still using an old-fashioned steamboat appliance. We don't see this anymore in the lowlands where we reside.

Next morning we visited Lavender Garden at Tringkap. It was our visit and we were indeed mesmerized by the eye-catchy plants that abound there and the lovely landscaping! Drank Lavender Tea for the first time and then adjourned to Brinchang for a yummilicious lunch. Relaxed in the late afternoon with a mahjong session.

Dinner in the apartment was nasi lemak. Savoured the all-time favourite nasi lemak prepared by chef Mary... her unique Sarawak sambal is super tasty! Nasi lemak, KFC and wine to celebrate John Boi's birthday... treat by birthday boy and his beloved spouse, Mary! Much thanks, dear friends.

Visit next morning was to Boh Tea Centre at Sungai Palas to enjoy the cool air, drank the Cameron tea and some cakes.

Having dine at numerous restaurants that serve Japanese Cuisine, Mitasu Japanese Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur really stands out. It offers ala carte buffet at affordable prices.

My beloved John and I had wanted to celebrate our darling daughter-in-law's birthday in January. To simplify matters, we asked our younger boy to suggest where we should venture to. Being a resourceful person, he googled and decided to choose Mitasu Japanese Restaurant, having read the many positive reviews by satisfied customers who had dine at this eatery. We were game as none of us have been there before.

This place is so popular that reservations have to be made at least a week in advance, especially for weekend dates. We had wanted to dine during the weekend but was fully booked and had to choose to dine on Monday instead.

Celebrating January 2016 at Genting Highlands

A most wonderful feeling to start the New Year, 5,710 ft (1,740 m) above sea level at Genting Highlands, a favourite hill resort among locals and tourists!

Being a Genting Reward member, I was offered a complimentary one-night stay at First World Hotel for my birthday, to be redeemed any day in the month of January. Of course, I grabbed the offer since my beloved darling John and I last went up there two years ago.

Though knowing there won't be much to see as there are on-going massive constructions for the 20th Century Fox Theme Park and other sections on this hill top, it didn't deter us from redeeming my birthday voucher.

Celebration @ Al Halabi Gourmet Restaurant, Pavilion KL

It was my birthday on New Year's day and my beloved sons and spouses wanted to celebrate and treat me to somewhere special.

I was most impressed. The interior decor was simply breathtaking! Also, service with a smile... the manager and servers were very warm, helpful and accommodating.

2015 Christmas Decor @ Pavilion, KL

The year 2015 isn't complete for my beloved spouse, John and I if we didn't head to Pavilion to be mesmerized by the magnificent Christmas decorations there. Pavilion, located at Jalan Bukit Bintang in Kuala Lumpr is a gigantic shopping mall that draws crowds and shoppers from all walks of life by the thousands, especially during the Christmas and Chinese New Year festive seasons.

The theme for this year's Christmas decor at the centre court is a sparkling tree, measuring 23m tall and 7.5m wide, consisting of 175,000 Swarovski crystals. The individual crystals are held up by 3.100 pieces of strands, measuring 2m each. Not surprising that the Pavilion mall was awarded a place in the Malaysia Book of Records for having the tallest Swarovski Christmas tree that costs about RM3million. It's also the tallest Christmas tree of its kind in Asia.

Pilgrimage to Church of St Thomas More, Subang Jaya

November 10th was a public holiday in Malaysia as it was Deepavali or Diwali, a Festival of Lights celebrated by all Hindus.

Hence, my beloved spouse, John and I took this opportune time to make a half-day pilgrimage to the Church of St. Thomas More, a Catholic Church in Subang Jaya with 5 other retirees in our golden years.

All of us were very keen to visit the Church as we heard that miracles are happening there, especially at the grotto within the Church's compound where the statue of Our Lady of Fatima (Virgin Mary) is placed.

Buffet Dinner at Dondang Sayang, Corus Hotel KL

As usual, celebrating our children's birthdays and festive seasons are a must for my beloved spouse, John and yours truly. These are precious moments of bonding ties over a sumptuous meal.

This time around, it was our elder son's birthday which was celebrated on October 17th, a week earlier to accommodate the presence of all family members.

We chose to have buffet dinner at Dondang Sayang, Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur, a 4* hotel that was offering a discount of 25% for Maybank credit card members. For 8 adults and 2 children, we paid RM675.00, a pretty good deal for its extensive dining menu.

High Tea Buffet At Taman Sari Brasserie, Hotel Istana KL

My younger son's birthday was drawing near last September. As usual, my beloved spouse John and I wanted to celebrate it grandly if possible, though hopefully it would not dent a hole in our pockets.

The best way to spend smart and eat smart was to browse through the Groupon website for available offers. Fortunately, we found a good deal at Groupon.com.my that offered a Saturday high-tea buffet at Taman Sari Brasserie in a 5-star Hotel Istana. A superb 50% discounted price of RM52.50 per adult from RM105 and for children aged between 5-12 at half the Groupon price ... splendid, huh!!

What a blessed opportunity to dine in style! It was our family's first visit to Hotel Istana at Jalan Raja Chulan, Kuala Lumpur.

We enjoyed ourselves tremendously as we savour the yummilicious dishes that were served. The menu for the day was extensive.

Celebrated my belated birthday recently with my beloved spouse John, our younger son Darren, DIL Yanti and our grand-daughter Dylea. We had an awesome gastronomical adventure at Thirty8 Restaurant & Lounge, Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, a 5-star hotel. Much thanks to our son and DIL for the great feast. Such wonderful blessings! I praise and thank the Lord God Almighty for such loving, caring and thoughtful family members.

It was a Sunday Buffet Brunch with a marvellous spread of numerous variety of delicious food to satisfy everyone's palate. It was John and my first time at this exclusive restaurant, bar and lounge which offers a 360-degree stunning views of the iconic Petronas Twin Towers and the city.
