Astronomy and Neil Armstrong Projects

Sheri over at Lapbooks and Scrapbooks has a couple of projects up on her blog that I'd like to share. Both of these projects use our 9 x 11 1/2 Blank Project Book.

The Advanced Astronomy High School Lapbook project is a combination of resources from In the Hands of a Child, Homeschool Share, Considering God's Creation Notebook pages, and Sheri's own creative mind. This project is definitely worth checking out for your older kids.

To the Zoo Spiral Book Project

Our 6 x 8 Blank Project Book was created, per customer request, for the little ones in the household to have a project book of their very own. While I no longer have any little ones running around my home, I wanted to create a book as a display for our table at the upcoming Homeschooling Works Book Fair.

While I love some the gorgeous custom books our customers have made, I tend to need something already designed. So, I headed over to Homeschool Share to see what I could find. Since I wanted a book for younger kids, I clicked over to the Level One Toddlers and Preschoolers lapbooks and found an adorable lapbook based on Eric Carle's 1,2,3 to the Zoo book. You can find the lapbook here.

Since the original design was for a folder, I needed to adjust the size to utilize this for a 6 x 8 book. I found that if I printed the images at 50%, it was just perfect. The cover was the exact size I needed and no need to cut it down the middle like you would for a folder cover.

As I was looking through my supplies, I discovered some paper with a cloud background. It got my brain thinking on what I could do to jazz it up a bit.

With some green and black card stock added to the mix, it was super easy to make a railroad track for the train pockets to travel on.

I had a friend's Cricut at my disposal and she had just the cartridges I needed. I put the number on the opposite page, along with die cut animals to match the one in the train car.

Younger kids could easily help glue the large pieces on to the book. Number recognition and counting practice can take place during assembly. After all 10 train cars are completed, the book will have enough pages left to have your child add more counting pages of their own design. When completed, they will have a special book of their very own.

Homeschooling Works Convention

Preserving Memories by A Glimpse of Our Life

Jennifer over at A Glimpse of Our Life has shared how she used products from Pear Educational Products to create wonderful keepsakes of her family vacation.

Our 6 x 8 Blank Project Book was used an art book to sketch sites visited.

The 9 1/2 x 11 Blank Project Book documented each state visited.

Our 12 x 12 Blank Project Book has plenty of space on each page to pack it full of information.

Visit Pear Educational Products for unique lapbooking supplies. Our Blank Project Books come in three different sizes, 6 x 8, 9 x 11 1/2, and 12 x 12. They are made of white cardstock and an extra large spiral to allow for expansion. The larger two notebooks also have a double pocket folder to hold extra supplies and papers.

We carry two different Project Bases, a 3-panel and a 4-panel with a foldout extension. These bases allow your student extra room to show their creativity and what they learned. Also made of white card stock, these bases have a double score folds so your student and put lots of goodies on the pages.

Lastly, don't forget about our adhesive strips for better storage of your finished Project Bases. These white strips with mylar and re-enforced holes adhere to the back of your folder so that you can place them all in a 3-ring binder. They may also be decorated to match your lapbook.

Nutcracker Lapbook

Sheri over at Lapbooks and Scrapbooks created an adorable Nutcracker lapbook using our 3-panel Fold Up Project Base.

With our full-page cover, there is no need to split your designs in half. As you can see below, Sheri created a fantastic cover using a coloring page and some cardstock.

She made full use of all the panels. Here is the lapbook with just one side-panel open. With the double-score folds, the panels do not pop open.

Here is a pic with both sides open, making use of all three panels on the inside. I love how she used her stamping supplies to customize the background.

She also added a timeline of her own creation of the back.
