			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>Marking the Annual Homecoming event on 26<sup>th</sup> June Leicester  University selected Pearl Marquees to be their hire supplier for a very  special Homecoming event that presented the celebrations of 50 years  space science at the University.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Situated at the heart of Leicester University campus Pearl Marquee&#8217;s <a href="../clear-span-marquee/">Clear span marquee</a> structure was installed in a prominent position alongside children’s rides, magic shows, face painter and rocket making.<img class="size-full wp-image-3459 aligncenter" title="Leicester Uni Homecoming Marquee 2010" src="http://www.pearlmarquees.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Leicester-Uni-1.jpeg" alt="" width="358" height="228" /></p>
<p>Over  500 graduate and staff visitors were greeted in our modern Registration  Marquee where guests registered their attendance and individually were  offered a breakfast reception.</p>
<p>Following this guests were then  free to choose from a range of mini lectures and demonstrations and for  those guests who graduated in the 1970’s a new event was hosted in the  University marquee called “Lost Alumni Breakfast” giving fellow alumni  the opportunity to catch up with graduates they hadn’t seen for 30  years.</p>
<p>A major highlight to the day was the lecture “Hubble  Telescope and the Future of Human Space Flight” delivered by a real-life  astronaut Dr Jeff Hoffman who has over 1000 hours of flying experience.  After lunch as the day got much warmer and all the guests had a chance  to unwind in the Registration Marquee and enjoying free ice cream.</p>

<p>Organiser  Lisa Davies, of the Development and Alumni Office, praised the Pearl  Marquees team and said: “Thank you so much, we’ve never had a marquee  before and you advised me on the right size marquee to hire, the size  wasn’t too small or too big. Your team worked hard to get the strcuture  installed on to the car park within the limited access time. Thank you  again.”</p>
<p>The whole event was a spectacular day fun-filled with  educational activities enjoyed by many adults, children and many  families and we have an expertise of providing University Marquees for  any type of event. <p>It  is important to note the factors that influence the size of your  structure. Ask yourself the questions below to choose the ideal size for  your event.</p>

<li>What style will your event seating be?

<li>All guests seated at tables at any one time.</li>
<li>Your guests will be partly seated and partly standing.</li>
<li>Your entire guest will be standing throughout the event .</li>

<h3>Other Size Considerations</h3>
<p>When working out the size of a marquee there are several factors that need to be taken into consideration. Other than the above discussed the next main one being what table size you need and are looking to hire.</p>
<p>Larger tables take up more area than smaller tables, for example if you were to hire a smaller 5ft round diameter tables you can seat anything from 6 to 8 guests around the table. With a 6ft table you can position 10-12 guests around the table. But which is most suited to you?</p>
<p>This all depends on what you are placing on each table, if there is a lot of items on to the tables i.e. table centrepieces, crockery, cutlery, glassware, glassed beverages etc. then it is ideal to hire a larger table. Ultimately if larger tables are required, then this will have an impact on your structures size as you may need to opt for a larger sized structure.</p>
