On Tuesday Josh played the basketball game of his life. His team was playing in the final tournament game of the season and the end result would determine who took 3rd place and who took 4th place.

The score went back and forth for the majority of the game, but the last four minutes of the game is where it got interesting. You see Josh got the ball and shot it and got a three pointer for it. Less than a minute later Josh ended up with the ball again and did a layup with the end result being 2 points. About a minute later Josh stole the ball from a player and went down court. He tried for the three pointer again and then was fouled. Because he was going for a three point shot, he was given three free throws. He ended up with one point, which made his final score for the game six points. The last two minutes of the game showed Josh’s team was the strong of the two and with four more points scored they won the game and took third place in the county.

Josh’s team had an outstanding season and I’m so glad we were able to watch the games. Josh excelled each day and it’s so great to see him improve. His coach was fantastic and he taught these kids so much.

Menu Monday: December 12

Several of the meals on this list are my favorites, so I’m happy about this week. LOL Do you have weeks like that where you plan your favorite meals? I do this every once in a while, but the good thing about it is my family likes the same foods as me so they don’t mind.

Monday – Beef Rollups
Tuesday – Country Omelets
Wednesday – Burger and Fry Pot Pie
Thursday – Cheesy ham and hashbrown casserole
Friday – Grocery Shopping, eat out
Saturday – Turkey Pinnia
Sunday – Waffles

We’re always looking for new meals to have, but we’re picky, so meals must contain chicken, hamburger, or vegetables. What are your favorite meals?

Yesterday I posted a picture of our cat Piper sleeping. We were doing some cleaning in the laundry room and one of the things that was moved was the little chair she’s sleeping on. She’s so funny in that she’ll sleep anywhere she can find a soft place. LOL

Menu Monday: December 5

Here is our menu for the week. These are some of our favorites we’ve had in the past. It’s been a while for some of them so we decided to bring them back for a change. Some of them our my favorites. LOL

Monday – Turkey w/mashed potatoes
Tuesday – French Dips
Wednesday – Turkey left overs
Thursday – Chicken soup
Friday – Homemade Pizza’s
Saturday – Family Christmas Party
Sunday – Beefy Tomato Rice Skillet

Next week’s menu is going to be just as good. You’ll have to make sure you stop by to see what we’re having.

Christmas Decorating with the Boys!!

Christmas is a great time of year for everyone, but it’s the best for children. I love putting the tree up, decorating it and putting decorations up throughout the house. It makes the house look beautiful and cheery. Now that I have kids there is something different about the decorations. Our boys are 15 and 13, so they’re old enough to do the decorating themselves and that is awesome to watch. I love to see what they think because in my eyes it’s perfect no matter what they do.

This year we put our tree up on Friday afternoon because Chris had to work. The family room and living room look awesome. They did a great job!

Saturday morning Kevin, Chris, and Josh went to my mother-in-laws house to help her put up her village. They did an awesome job as you can see in the picture below.

Saturday afternoon Josh went to my mom’s house to help her, my niece Shai, and my nephew Caalab decorate the tree and house. Chris had to work so he was not able to go. They did a great job there too as you can see from the pictures.

I love this time of year and when I see my boys doing what they think is perfect, it’s even better. My boys make this time of year awesome and I’m so glad God gave them to me. Love you Kevin, Chris, and Josh!!

Menu Monday: November 14

This week we’re having a new recipe and my boys and hubby are very much looking forward to it. A few weeks ago we went to KFC and they had potato and chicken bowls. They enjoyed them so much that we decided to try our hand at making them ourselves. I hope they turn out better than the ones you get at KFC.

Here is our menu list for this week.

Monday – Baked Spaghetti
Tuesday – Potato & Chicken bowl
Wednesday – Meatloaf
Thursday – Baked Chicken
Friday – Take out
Saturday – Pizza
Sunday – Fried Chicken

I think next week we’ll try home made chicken noodle soup. I have a coupon for the noodles and we have some chicken broth left from the potato soup from last week, so we might as well use it up. So what’s on your menu list for the week?

Proud Parents

My oldest is almost 16 years old and I’m so proud of him. He has become quite the young man. He works hard and good things come his way. He has always been this way and I pray he will always be this way because it’s a wonderful trait.

Chris got a job on October 29th and he’s doing such a great job so far. He’s working as a dishwasher at a restaurant here and town. Since he’s only 15 that’s about the only thing he can do, but they’re already talking about what he’ll be able to do when he turns 16 in February. They can’t wait for it to happen and neither can he. LOL

Chris got his first pay check on Friday and he was VERY happy when he got it because it was more than what he was expecting. Kevin calculated it and we told him it was lower, just to be safe. Now that he knows the calculations, he’ll be able to get it closer so he’ll have a better idea.

Chris is saving his money to purchase a transmission for his car. He needs to save $150 each check in order to have enough money before his birthday. With the hours he’s getting so far, that won’t be a problem. He’s loving his car and that’s wonder. He’s paid for everything himself and that’s awesome in our eyes.

We’re so proud of you Chris. Keep up the hard work as it will pay off each time!
