Renoma - 50 Years of Creation

Gosh, this is a SUPER late post.

I was invited to the Renoma: 50 Years of Creation event at their Sunway Pyramid outlet in late January and as I've been rather busy working on the new website & doing a bit of travelling I haven't really had the chance to properly sit down to do this post (that & I also tend to procrastinate :( ).

Renoma was started 50 years ago by a two-brother-team, Mousieur Maurice & Michel Renoma at hteir store White House - Renoma in Rue de la Pompe, Paris. The brand name was then a fashion statement for all the young & trendy, people like Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, John Lennon, Andy Warhol, Brigitte Bardot, Yves Saint Laurent & Karl Lagerfeld were just some of Renoma's famous regulars.

Since then, Renoma has expanded its collection to include apparel, underwear, leather goods, shoes, belts & a whole collection of fashionable products to cater to the new breed of confident young customers who consciously seek out style updates.

As someone who has always been passionate about fashion, Maurice Renoma decided to extend his creativity to various fields which include: lifestyle, design & photography. The Renoma Cafe in both Paris & Kuala Lumpur are platforms where he showcases his photography skills & interior design flair.

Around the UK with ME!

A short photo blog of my recent trip to the UK with my family to visit my sister, who happens to be studying there! (Don't know why I added that last bit, but felt it was relevant somehow. :P )

City of Bones Premier with Sephora!

Today's post is by none other than my sister, Ping! She's currently back in Malaysia for a couple of months to take a break from what I hope would be hardwork & studying in the UK!
As I had a hair appointment I just couldn't miss (:P), so I got both my sisters (Ping & Lulu) to go in my place. Photo captions by me! :)

On the 20^th of August, my sister and I got free tickets for a preview screening for the book based movie, City of Bones at GSC cinema, Midvalley Megamall.

Movie passes!

We arrived early and decided to have dinner before we went to get our tickets. When we finally went to the event area which was outside GSC, there were a lot of people around ready to take their free tickets, complimentary goodie bags, have their pictures taken to be printed on cards with the city of bones theme, and just random people being curious about what was going on.

There were also models dressing up as a few of the main characters of the movie (cosplayer) with whom you could take photos of or have your pictures taken with. My sister was obviously being a fan girl, wanting to take multiple photos with them and being unhappy with how dark the lightning was when I took photos of her with her phone camera, opting not to use flash as it looked uglier with it.

Finally, when we entered our designated viewing room and sat at our seats. There was a guy who told us we could not use any recording devices and that we were not allowed to use our phones - gasps! How dare they? No phones for one hour plus? – On pain of being forcibly removed from the screening.

The movie started, it was interesting and I was not severely critical of it as I had not read the book recently, so I was not terribly disappointed if some scenes were more rushed or cut out or changed (unlike someone I know) but I was rather annoyed by someone commenting virtually non-stop on the movie and how it differed from the book, talking so much while I was trying to enjoy a good movie. Sometimes you can’t choose who you sit next to in a movie, there may be noisy people but at least this time there were no phones ringing during the movie.

All in all, the movie was good I would say, much better than the other new book based movie with modern Greek heroes and heroines which I shall not name now as it was too painful but also had an incessant commentator sitting next to me as well then. This movie had good effects and I really liked some of the characters – the bad guy was cool! And the main character had cool powers as well, new runes anyone? – Though opinions may differ from mine on it.

Live Fast & Dye Hard with Manic Panic!

When you don't get exactly what you want for the price you want, find a way to DO IT YOURSELF! :)

That was the case when I've been trying to get my hair the perfect shade of pink/purple/turquoise that not only looked bright & vibrant but also lasted and wasn't too expensive. I've been frequenting Hairkunst to get my hair done lately, and I must say that I am LOVING their service! My go-to persons have definitely gotta be Bambang or Alea! Both who are incredible professional and do such good work!

The problem with getting your hair done at a salon is that it isn't particularly budget friendly (though I still LOVE Hairkunst's service) and the fact that because I am looking to dye my hair in such bright shades the colour never really last as long as you want it to.

So when my mom told me that my uncle would be making his yearly visit back from the States, I just KNEW I had to get these Manic Panic hairdyes after hearing about them.

Bleaching would be required to achieve these shades.

The Process.

Got my sister to help me section out my hair & coloured it 3 colours!

From top: Hot hot pink, Purple haze, Atomic turquoise.

I left these on overnight & slept with a old towel on my pillow with my hair in a shower cap. I also did some blowdrying to create some heat for the colours to seep in.

The Results!

Because I previously dyed the bottom of my hair green & there was some still left on my hair, the turquoise turned out a little more green than I expected. But nonetheless, I am VERY PLEASED with the results!

Because my previous hair was really damaged at the ends, I had to cut them off and give them a more even length shape so with my hair down, the green/turquoise isn't very obvious.

Because these hairdyes are semi-permanent they are definitely gentler on your hair compared to permanent dyes but won't last as long. I'm the kinda person who has to wash their hair everyday and with using a hair colour specific shampoo, after a month the colours are still there though the purple has faded the most with the pink faded in strands. Note to self, for colour longevity, purple is not your friend (as much as I love it!). The green/turquoise I am happy to report is lasting pretty well.

Manic Panic does ship internationally but it doesn't come free & it doesn't come very affordable either. My recommendation would be to get someone who you know is coming back from the US to bring these over for you. Also, hair bleach cannot be shipped international, but they are readily available at most pharmacy or hair specialty stores.

Oscars '13

Alright, how many of you managed to catch the Oscars yesterday? I for one did not manage to.

And so, it was rather sad when I heard how the VFX people who were giving their thank you speech was so rudely cut off with the JAWS theme song & not allowed to properly finish their speech. Especially since the company (Rhythm & Hues) that brought Richard Parker to life has now declared bankruptcy and without them the movie would not have been what it was. Hopefully with all the media covering the VFX protest, situations will improve for all VFX artists.

Moving along, here are my top picks from the Oscars '13!

LOVES.
To die for!

Kerry Washington in Miu Miu.
I think I am just attracted to the really pretty corally pink shade. The colour is incredibly soft & pretty and it rather stands out amongst the usual bright, glittery shades.
Zoe Saldana in Alexis Mabille Couture.
I love the applique detail across the bust, the belted empire waist & the asymmetrical cut skirt with layers of black & grey.

Olivia Munn in Marchesa.
Red & gold. Just perfect for the Lunar New Year I think. I love the sweetheart neckline, the gold details across the top & the folded red train.
Fan Bing Bing in Marchesa.
Quite honestly, I've got nothing much to say about her as I don't really know her movies & roles but I am loving her rich fuchsia edgy cut dress with it's full skirt.

Kelly Rowland in Donna Karan Atelier.
I can never say no to a good black & white gown. The simple folds & high slit shows off Kelly's muscular arms & stems nicely.
Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Couture.
There's just something simply stunning about Jennifer's Dior Couture pale creamy gown. I love the cut & fit on her and the texture of the dress just adds that little touch of magic.

Naomi Watts in Giorgio Armani.
Give me a metallic sheeny dress with cut outs and I am absolutely sold! I love the shiny metallic silver shade of this dress and the simple sleek cut. The cut out across the shoulder is just icing on a delicious futuristic cake!
Catherine Zeta Jones in Zuhair Murad.
Go for gold! Not too sure what she's been up to lately, but her showstopper nude & gold gown is a winner for me! And she managed to pull it off without looking like Mr. Oscar.

It seems that quite a bit of celebrities are going for the strapless gowns, and hey I can't help but love it!

Also, I am partially biased against blue. Unless the shade of blue is really stunning, I very rarely like it. The shade Reese Witherspoon is wearing is nice, but because the dress was a tad to safe and plain for me... it just doesn't call out to me.

Golden Globes '13

How many of you managed to catch the Golden Globes? :)

I for one totally missed it and am so bummed! But thankfully with the internet, you can easily check out who wore what! These are just my favourite picks from the lot. There were A LOT of gorgeous gowns, but I must say these are my favourites!

#1. Lucy Liu in Carolina Herrera

I think the main reason I picked this outfit as my no.1 is probably because it's the most different of the lot. I love the simple sweetheart bustier cut & the gorgeous Cinderella skirt! I also love that the colour & print is different from the usual black, cream, nude shades & mermaid cuts.

#2. Nicole Kidman in Alexander McQueen

Damn, this woman is a rack! She can wear anything and she'll look good in it! And this Alexander McQueen gown is no different! I love the simple skirt, the details across the bust & the sheer slim panel lines across the waist & ribs. At 45 of age, this woman is looking good!

#3. Emily Blunt in Michael Kors

Do you see the details on the dress! OMG! I love the shade of gold, the simple cut & the sexy cut outs! But I think what I am most drawn to has gotta be the gold and the gorgeous applique details all over it!

#4. Anne Hathaway in Chanel

Not particularly a fan of Anne Hathaway and never have been but I must say that her simple white Chanel gown is simply lovely. It goes well with her pale skin, and dark short hair.

#5. Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture

The colour! OMG! And damn I gotta love this girl! If you've seen her at interviews you'll know she's silly and fun! Gotta say, this simple red belted gown looks really good on her and is pretty age appropriate as well.

New Year, New Trends

How quickly it seems that time seems to fly. A new year is dawning upon us, we survived the famed 'predicted' end of world & we now must get ourselves in the know on what's hot for Spring 2013!

Go Graphic.

It seems that prints are still gonna be a big deal in 2013. But taking a look at these designers it seems that aztec is not something we will be seeing in the future. Instead, look for bold prints as seen on Mary Katrantzou & Holly Fulton. Or go safe with plaid ala Dries van Noten. Playing it pretty with soft shades of pastels & florals is a must with Erdem. Or take out those animal prints & go crazy like Marc Jacobs. Remember, when playing with graphic prints alway keep your accessories simple & to a minimum.

Shiny Metallics.

It might seems a little scary to be wearing shiny metallics, but an easy way to incorporate a little glitz & glamour into your day to day wear is with a bit of shine. Pair your favourite metallic pieces with simple neutral hues for day (see Jonathan Saunders, Viktor & Rolf), and for night just swap the neutral hues for something bold (see Diane von Furstenberg). Or if you truly are daring, go all out metallic like Burbery & Marchesa.

Mean Neons.

It seems that Spring 2013 is all about the brights! From Shiny Metallics to something equally bold! Don't put away your favourite fluorescent pieces just yet, for they are here to stay! Go all out wild by contrasting your neons (see Oscar de la Renta & Diane von Furstenberg), or opt to dress head to toe in your favourite shade (see Osman & Simone Rocha), finally play it safe by toning down this vibrant shade by pairing it with neutral shades of white, nude or black (see Antonio Berardi, Chado Ralph Rucci & ICB). A pretty floral dress in a fluorescent shade as seen on House of Holland is equally stunning.

Leather Fever.

Now this is the one trend I wish could be worn in Malaysia! As the weather is humid & hot most of the year, it's pretty obvious you can't really wear your favourite leather pieces out. Sure something short like a skirt would work, but a leather jacket can get a little tricky. Also, no one wants to be sweating & sliding around in leather that's just not classy. Aside from that, if you manage to own a good quality classic leather jacket, it is something that will last you for life.

Bedroom Lace.

Go risque with lace! Sensual & seductive, lace is something that will be with you time & time again and we don't just mean in the bedroom! A turtleneck fitted all over lace dress ala Vera Wang is sexy yet classy. If you're a little more daring, opt for peekaboo sheer laces pieces as seen on BCBG & Pierre Balmain. If you've never quite dared to wear lace out of the bedroom, choosing pieces with lace motifs like Lela Rose would be a good introduction to it.

Flirty Sixties.

Aaaaah, Twiggy's era! A blast from the past has never looked this good! Step away from the classic flower power & go for a bold appliqué design instead (see Prada & Moschino). Not quite ready to step into the shoes of appliqué? No worries, simple stripes (see Marc Jacobs) and uniformed checks (Louis Vuitton) are a quick an easy way to add a touch of retro to your outfit. It seems that hemlines are getting shorter as well, if you're not comfortable baring that much legs opt to pair them with slim fit trousers.

Review: Sephora Express Dry Shampoo

Quite frankly, I am a person who HAS to wash their hair everyday. However, ever since colouring my hair a pretty pink & purple shade I am rather reluctant to wash it everyday! As I spent good ol’ hard earned money to get my hair in that pretty shade, dammit hair colour! You had better last!

The reason why I can no longer wash my hair everyday. But hey! Aren’t the colours pretty? –big geeky smile-

So what do you do when you can’t wash your hair everyday?
You find something that will keep your hair fresh between washes!

The solution? Read on to find out!

Frankly, I’ve NEVER used dry shampoo before. Though there was one time I’ve tried putting talcum powder on my hair, but sadly that didn’t really work out quite well as I wasn’t sure on how much to use and therefore I ended up looking like a banshee with my super duper white out powdered hair. So that didn’t work. Not at all.

Ever since Sephora opened it’s doors at Paradigm Mall, I’ve been visiting there quite regularly. One fine day when I was there just window shopping, I happened to stumble upon their Express Dry Shampoo and thought, oh well it’s only 29bucks. Even if it doesn’t really work I don’t lose much.

As I was unsure on how to use this product, I found out through the sales lady that you’re supposed to spray the product directly onto your hair & not your scalp. <—important keynote!

Ingredients & little promises this product makes.

The product comes out clear onto your hair, so there’s no worry about nasty white flakes being seen. It does take awhile for it to set in properly into your hair, and I would say that if your hair is super greasy (i.e. haven’t washed in 2-3days) this product will keep your hair feeling fresh & non-greasy for about 4 hours max. After that, you’ll probably have to top up with another spray coat.

The first time I used it, I rather liked the scent and I was quite surprised at how fresh my hair felt afterwards. However, after about 4 hours I felt my hair becoming limp & greasy all over again. I reckon if you’re gonna be out the whole day/night it might be a good idea to bring this along with you to touch up your hair.

All in all, I would probably buy this product again. It’s inexpensive & it works (albeit for a couple of hours).

Beauty Haul!

If there’s a one place I MUST visit when in Thailand, it’s Boots. Without a doubt, Boots in Thailand totally trumps all other pharmacies here in Malaysia. Yes, even Sephora! They’ve just got so many more options & their Boots products are pretty affordable too!

Most of these items are pretty new purchases & I haven’t tested them out before, but boy do they look promising!

For the past week, I’ve actually only used S&G’s Make Yourself Youthful twice a day on a daily basis, and so far I am DEFINITELY liking the results. My skin looks & feels smoother, break outs for some reason seems to be a little less… either that or because my skin just feels smoother so I can’t quite feel all the little bumps that would plague my face.

The Fab Pore is a pore refining scrub then mask. I’ve so far used it only once, so I can’t quite comment on how it works yet. but do stay tuned as I’ll update on it once I’ve used it more.

During last year’s trip to Krabi, I popped by a Boots & got myself the Sun Swim & Gym Hair Masque. I was gonna bring it home, but as the bottle was in 150ml I couldn’t bring it back as I didn’t have any check in luggage. Though, while I was at Krabi I did pretty much use up half the bottle already, attempting to protect & repair my hair from the sun & sea. But alas, even though the 150ml bottle was half empty, the security at the Krabi airport didn’t allow me to bring it back because the bottle said 150ml. As I didn’t wanna argue with them, I very sadly let them throw it in the bin. :(

For the rest of the products, I have yet to try them but I am TOTALLY looking forward to them! Though, instead of the body wash I really wanted to get the body lotion instead! This is what happens when you’re over excited & you don’t read the labels properly. Like that other time where I bought 2 conditioners instead of a shampoo & conditioner!

Domestic Week

About a week or two back, I had a rather large amount of free time on my hand so instead of just spending it playing Diablo 3 all day, I decided to do something a little useful!

2. Also did some baking.

Was supposed to be a Nutella Brownie Cup.

Well, since I got greedy & decided to double up the recipe I didn’t really think about the amount of baking soda I was putting in. While the taste was pretty decent, the baking soda left a strange texture & aftertaste to the brownie.
Lesson learnt! Don’t double up the baking soda!

Because of the super domestic week I had, I naturally had to go reward myself with a little shopping at Sephora!

Dry Shampoo, smokey eye brush, gentle exfoliator cleansing cream & smart dual action exfoliator.

Did a little jewellery shopping.

Got myself a moustache ring!

First time British Fashion Award winner, Mary Katrantzou’s capsule collection for Topshop!
I know, I know… it’s been out awhile already but I just can’t help but highlight it!

I love her use of vivid, vibrant prints & her daring bowl dresses!

Her bold prints, pretty much covers her 10 piece offering to Topshop & depending on the look you’re going for you can go wild with print on print layering or bring it down with simple jeans & nude pieces.

Personally, I am not too crazy about the cut of the pants on the left as it just doesn’t flatter me at all! But I must say, these pants are daring!

Overall, I LOVE the collection! If I had somewhere to go, I’d wear them dresses in a heart beat!

I Want to Win an Awesome Tropical Island Holiday with Cikipedia!

As a model for my own blog, it is vital that I maintain a decent size to fit into clothes. That while most of the time do fit, but there are times after you eat a heavy banana leaf meal and you are just regretting your decision because you find yourself unable to zip up your dress! (GASP!)

Place a belt over your waist so no one can see you can’t zip it up all the way!

Meeting Ciki the first time I was SO impressed by… alright, her tan first! Ahahaha And also by how FIT she looked, so when she started up her Heath & Fitness blog, Cikipedia I was greatly hooked! It’s a great read with lots of tips & instructions on keeping healthy & maintain a good daily lifestyle! Once you’ve lost the weight, don’t gain it all back by being unhealthy!

While I LOVE eating! I also find that with age, you can never eat whatever you want and however much you want anymore as it will definitely be hitting you in the waist (or in my case the hips!). I LIKE exercising, but I must say I am a rather lazy-ish person so while I don’t exercise everyday I do try to hit the gym 2-3 times a week for an hour session of yoga, coupled with 30-45 minutes of treadmill. But of course, lately with Diablo 3 it seems that my right wrist is the one that seems to be working out the most!

Also, getting back to your work out after a couple of months of sedentary lifestyle really hits you in the muscles. But hey, if your muscles aren’t in pain the next day, you didn’t work out hard enough! :)

Singapore Photo Blog

Or as I would like to say it, PLOG! Was down in Singapore last month to catch Lady Gaga’s concert (which was SO AWESOME!) and here’s a quick look into what I did. :)

Left KL at 6AM-ish. Caught the sunrise on the way down. :)

No more photos till about late night as we spent the day visiting my uncle in Segamat to get spectacles fixed, tried to visit the famous Tangkak Beef Noodle shop only to find them not open, then somehow ended up on the old road and spent about 3-4 hours shopping in Joho Premium Outlet (JPO). Managed to secure a pair of adorable Adidas shoes, 1 bikini top & bottom from Ripcurl. Considering that La Senza was there too with panties going at 6 for RM45, coming away with only THREE items is a HUGE feat for me! –pats self on back-

Head to dump stuff at friend’s place, ate at a local chapfan place, visited supermarkets to stock up on some groceries & beer then headed out to Orchard to check out a few bars my friend recommended.

Acid bar has a pretty good live band on Sunday night and I am madly in love with the girl’s voice. It’s awesome! However, as it was a Sunday night it was mostly empty and FREEZING cold. So do bring your sweaters.
Alley bar is also another freezing your ass off place, but it’s got a really amazing dark, quiet ambiance. The perfect place for chilling with friends. Ah, how I wish these 2 bars were here in KL!

Next day, I have ZERO photos because one of my good friend doesn’t have roaming and he wasn’t spending the day at Universals Studio with the rest of us, so I lent him my phone. But Universals Studio is a MUST visit, and if you’re going during peak season, getting the express pass (as painful on our pockets as it was) is a MUST. No need to wait in line for 1-2 hours for a ride and you pretty much get to sit on your ride almost immediately!
Dinner was spent at a place suggested by Bangsar Babe called Breko Cafe at Holland Village. Good thing we decided to stop there too, as we were too cheap to buy any food in Universals & only brought 2 power bars each. Thank god, they had water fountains everywhere! Burgers there were pretty good and after the long day it was very much appreciated along with a cold mug of beer.

Next morning was spent waking up with a cup of coffee at Papa Palheta, another place recommended by Bangsar Babe. Yes, she’s got pretty good recommendations so do check out her blog for more!

Rest of the afternoon was spent shopping in Orchard & taking photos with the A&F’s hotties!

Got myself 2 tops (5 & 10SGD), 1 silver clasp hair tie (5.9SGD), 2 bikini tops (7.9SGD each) & an Iphone cover (5.9SGD) from H&M. Again, coming away with only so few items, I must really commend myself for being so frugal! All these were at a wonderful bargain! It was all under 10SGD, how to resist!

Went to check out River Island, and was so tempted to get these gorgeous grey about 6-7inch heels which were under RM100! But after many thoughts, decided to let it go because they weren’t my perfect size. But as I went through the day, I kept thinking about it and asked my friend to go & grab it for me (busy getting ready for Gaga) only to find out they only had the left side of the shoe. The other side seems to have gone… Missing. WTF?

The concert, let’s just say was an AMAZING 2hours&20minutes! The opening was buy a pretty decent DJ (gosh, can’t remember his name). And she finally came on and gave the best show ever! My favourite part was when she asked the ENTIRE stadium to put their paws up and give a shout out to Indonesia (her concert got cancelled there sadly).

Please excuse the less than amazing photos. Only had my phone with me. Plus, was too busy enjoying the show to really take any photos. Ah, to go to another of Lady Gaga’s concert! Filled with love. Straight love. Gay love. General love!

It’s her! It’s her! Can you see her? She’s there! OMG! As my 16 year old sister would say, I’m fan girl-ing.

So ends my short trip to Singapore. The next day was just drive back home to Malaysia. Boo!

Dear blog, I am so sorry for neglecting you. Most days I am usually just too busy doing other not quite useful things. While I know that my time should be better spent blogging, Diablo 3 is just too fun to resist!

As a Blogshop owner, I already churn out about 1-2 posts a week so most of the time I just don’t have many things to blog about anymore. Since I get a bunch of you asking me what do I do as a blogshop owner, seeing as I seem to stay at home most of the time and just do nothing I decided to take this time to let you guys know what I do.

TADAH! My boring life revealed!

My daily activities usually include, spending LOADS of time on the computer replying emails, updating my blog’s Facebook Page, looking for interesting/cute content to upload on FB, posting random tweets, and of late updating my Pinterest! Aside from all these social media interactions, I am usually writing out blog post for the next update, editing photos to make them come alive more (and look PURDY!) as well as looking for online fashion inspiration (tumblr, lookbook & pinterest ftw!).

Out of home, I spend my time going out sourcing, taking photos of latest yummy items, running errands, meeting with COD customers, dropping off stocks at the Bangsar Shop (A li’l of Everything, on Telawi 2, opposite La Bodega!) and while I’m at Bangsar I do enjoy a quick occasional mani & pedi session at Apronbay. Hey! You can’t be all work! ;)

Also, one of my regular places to be is at Celebrity Fitness in 1Utama for my 2-3 times a week yoga session! Well, sad to say that since Diablo 3 I have been rather sadly neglecting going to the gym (I LOATHE driving), but instead have found Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred!

But there are times when things get really slow, and you just don’t quite feel motivated to blog either as well. When things are slow there really isn’t much to say anyway! So you just spend your time staring at your laptop wondering, emails where art thou be?

Anyhooooos, am definitely not complaining! I love what I do and there’s just nothing better! As you do get LOADS of alone time doing whatever you damn well want & seriously, working from home & not driving is the best thing ever! :) Definitely can’t complain!

Plus, all the lovely & positive comments from customers are an instant pick me up! It’s good to know that you guys like your items & get a little retail therapy in return! Which totally reminds me that I NEED to start uploading all my pre-loved items. As right now, my poor tiny 2 door closet is overflowing! I’ll get around to that… eventually!

Oh, and we made out first ever TV appearance on EC Inspirasi Channel 106 on Unifi! :) We’re not sure if there will be anymore re-runs, but hey you can check out their schedule here! The show is called Blogshop & we’re on the first episode! It was all rather exciting, though I definitely did not expect to come off looking & sounding so serious!

Favourite pieces at the Met Ball 2012

As per the title, my favourite gowns/dresses/frock/tooprettytoberealoutfits from the MET Ball!

My top 3 picks!

Christina Ricci in Thakoon. Alright, this dress if worn to the Oscars will most likely be made fun of due to it’s giant bow blocking the view of the person (or persons) sitting behind. But at the MET Ball, I must say that this is probably my favourite dress of the lot! I love the black & peachy nude combo, the gorgeous lace details, the layered satin across the bust and yes, I think what absolutely did it for me is the GIANT bow at the back. It’s so drama, I just love it! Plus, it makes Christina Ricci look like such an adorable little pixie girl.

As I couldn’t pick which of these glitzy short dresses I liked best, I decided to put them both up equally as my 2nd favourite outfit from the MET Ball.

Coincidently, both these dresses are from Prada! I must say that I am absolutely loving the halter, choker neckline detail on both the dresses and their shiny shimmery shades! I am always all about the bling! I don’t know why! With Carey’s dress I just absolutely love the gold & silver combo in gorgeous reflective fish scales, which reminds of me mermaids! While with Gwyneth’s dress, I love the longer fishtail hem & embellished side details!

Victoria Justice in McQ by Alexander McQueen.
I actually hate the shoes that she paired this gorgeous dress with, but I just LOVE the dress! I love it’s sheer floral details along the shoulders all the way down to the wrist, the fun & playful floral details all across the dress that ends just above her knee with a black tulle flair! Fun & flirty, a suitable dress for a 19 year old. :)

But I still can’t get over those shoes! I don’t know why, but it feels like such an eyesore for me. I feel that if the shoes were a slightly different material it’ll be better. But that’s just what I think anyways. :)

Likes, but not LOVE!
These are just a bunch of gowns which I really LIKE, but just didn’t make it into the top 3 of my absolutely LOVE list. Obviously, I like creating lists! :D

Karolina Kurkova in Rachel Zoe Collection.
Looking like liquid gold just poured all over her. Definitely not a dress us mere mortals can pull off! Especially with coupled with the sequined turban! But the dress, the way it fits, the way it flows. Oh, so stunning!

Beyonce in Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci. Gotta love the sheer dress with it’s gorgeous details and feathered purple train!

This dress though, somehow reminds of me Zoe Saldana’s 2010 Oscar’s dress. Which is still stunning!

Chanel Iman in Tom Ford.
I gotta say, this girl has a banging figure and Tom Ford is a fabulous designer! As usual, I love the sheer mesh details & the artfully designed panel dress. Covered from neck down, but with a comfortable amount of skin showing. Fabulous!

For someone her age, Donatella is seriously fit! Look at those arms! Also, I gotta love the caged details across the shoulders & the curve hugging sequined details all over the dress.

Love the tulle details at the bottom, the gorgeous beaded detail all across the top of the gown. And with in a lovely shade of nude with it’s shimmery gold beads, a stunning dress this is!

Jessica Alba always looks stunning no matter what! For her gowns, it seems that she usually likes to play it a little on the safer side. I usually don’t care much for her gowns, as while they are beautiful they never really seem to appeal to me that much as they are rather on the safe side. But with this stunning bronze metallic Grecian dress, I must say that while it is indeed safe I just LOVE the cut & shade!

Oh Cate, how I love you! I love your gothic black feathered dress but I just cannot love the ostrich detailing at the bottom. It just looks too much like a mass of hair and I just can’t love it. But the feather top half, I do love very much. Just the bottom. Whyyyyy?

Also, I’m a sucker for the glittery silver dress she has on and the very vampire black cape.

Would have looked passed Michelle’s dress as well, but I gotta say if she had not decided to put on those simple black gloves, a stunning but somewhat boring dress this would be.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Valentino | Coco Rocha in Elizabeth Taylor’s Givenchy trouser suit I must say, I am somehow liking SJP’s incredibly modest vintage looking floral Valentino dress! I think it’s the cream base, with it’s subtle floral patterns and simple vintage cut.

Oh Coco, I love your hair, I love the colour mix, but I can’t stand the patterns on your trousers & jacket!
Again, I LOVE YOUR HAIR!

Review: My Lip Stuff Tinsel Limited Edition

If you’ve been following our blog, you’ll know that we have this huge, never wavering addiction with lip balms.
We personally love our lip balms to be incredibly moisturising, comes on easily on the lips (personally dislike those lip balms that are too hard & take forever to get on your lips!), and has a really delish scent to it as well!

We are definitely a huge fan of My Lip Stuff lip balms as we find that their balms without a doubt, fit the criteria above! We’ve never been too partial about plain, unflavoured lip balms but when Cynthia (tanksfor5) brought in this Limited Edition unflavoured glitter sticks. We just knew we had to give it a try!

Tinsel: Unflavoured Glitter Stick! This unflavoured balm contains very fine glitter in beautiful shades of blue and green. Absolutely gorgeous, and perfect to be worn as a gloss!

As you can see from the photos, the lip balm is exactly like all of My Lip Stuff’s balm. It comes uncoloured & slightly transparent. The only difference between these and the other balms are the added glitter & the fact that it’s unscented & unflavoured. While you may have a light whiff of natural scent from all the natural ingredients in the balm, it goes off pretty quickly & if you lick your lips you’ll probably be able to taste a light natural flavour which we think comes from all the natural oils.

The glitters on the balms are very faint & hardly noticeable at all. For some reason, we find that the glitters which are in beautiful shades of blue & green comes off better on our skin than on our lips. When we put it on our lips, the hint of glitter is very slight but because the balm already has a glossy sheen to it, the glitters help add a very natural shimmer to your lips. Definitely a shimmer that is subtle enough to be worn to work/school.

We love how this balm doesn’t sacrifice moisture just for a little hint of glitter. So opt to wear this lip balm alone, or over your usual lipstick for an added kick of moisture to your lips along with a subtle hint of pretty glitter.

Because we do find that the glitter comes out better on skin, you can probably dab a little on it on your cheekbones to give it a slight shimmery glow. The glossy sheen of the balm will also give a slight dewiness to your cheeks as well, making you look instantly fresh & alive.

Final verdict? A balm that’s both moisturising & pretty and only at RM13?
Well, frankly we think that this is definitely a deal too good to miss! Definitely grab it while you can!

Favourite mascara!

So far!

As a person who has short, sparse, really straight, downward pointing lashes, finding a good mascara that will hold, lift & curl is not easy!

I’ve always heard good things about Eyeko and when I saw they had a range of mascaras, I couldn’t resist by getting them and trying them out! My favourite of the lot is Eyeko Curvy Mascara. I’ve tried the Fat & Skinny Brush mascara but let’s just say they don’t work quite as well on me.

Lashes are curled and applied with Eyeko Curvy Mascara.
One of the best thing about this mascara is the fact that the hold is surprisingly long. For me, most mascaras after a couple of hours will start to droop and just go back to how my normal lashes will look. With this, I find that it pretty must lasts all day and the curl really holds.

Quick review on each of the brushes.
Curvy:
Officially my favourite. I can actually apply this without using a lash curler and it’ll still provide the curl & lift my lashes need. Albeit a tad less than when I use it together with a curling tool.
Fat:
It does thicken & lengthen my lashes but because my lashes are sparse & fine it does weigh them down a little. So what I like to do is apply a layer of the Curvy mascara and a light layer of Fat Brush to help thicken it a little.
Skinny:
It does lengthen my lashes & I like how it separates really well, but since it doesn’t have any curl & hold I find that again I have to couple it with a layer of Curvy mascara to keep it looking long and curled. As opposed to long, straight & slanting downwards.

Overall, I really like these mascaras & my favourite as I said is the Curvy brush but at USD19 I don’t think I will be making a repurchase anytime soon. Will just have to keep looking for an affordable mascara that will work just as well.

Caveman VS Prima Donna

Because my BF is a caveman who pretty much uses ONE bar of soap from head to toe! I’ve decided that I need to pack a little overnight beauty kit to leave at his place PERMANENTLY for me to use when I am over, and hopefully he will use it as well!

Things I need:
Hair.
Conditioner (must!)
Serum/Leave in conditioner (optional)
Face.
Make up remover & moisturiser (a little tub of EMC will go a long way!)
Cleanser (already left one at his place, go me!)
Lip balm (I always carry a few with me so no worries on this part!)
Body.
Scented lotion (double up as perfume/deodorant)

Looking at it, it actually doesn’t seem like much. But when I don’t have it, it feels like everything in the world has gone wrong! My hair is frizzy & dry, my face feels parched & naked, my body feels dehydrated & in need of a good scent, or at least bad smells prevention (better safe than sorry!).

I don’t think these products are too much, they are your basic necessities to keep you looking & feeling human! No one likes waking up in an air-conditioned room feeling like all the water in their body just got SUCKED up! Obviously, I am a shameless beauty junkie with tons of products already but can never resist a good deal!

Next, I should look into getting some calming aromatherapy for his room, just to cancel off the horrid musky scent I despise so much.

Review: Limited Edition Holiday Balms by My Lip Stuff M’sia

It’s been awhile since a review, so I thought I’d give these a go! :)

As usual, I just can’t resist a whole bunch of new lip balms. When Cynthia decided to bring in more My Lip Stuff Lip Balms I knew I was sold. Doesn’t matter that I’ve got a few more from her that I haven’t quite opened yet but let’s just all pretend I never said that.

I was and still am going through a Mint lip balm flavour phase, so I’ve picked out 2 minty flavoured balms & 2 creamy flavoured balms.

Gotta love the fun festive packaging!

Mint Chip Cheesecake: Mint chip cheesecake, a new flavour and one highly recommended by Brea, the owner of MLS!
I must say that I love this balm! I love how it’s got a distinct delicious cheesecake flavour to it that’s incredibly rich and creamy, topped with a very mild chocolate scent coupled with a wonderful minty scent that leaves a tingly sensation on your lips. It’s so good you wonder why you can’t just take a bite out of it! Great for people who love mint & cheesecakes!

Eggnog Ice Cream: Eggnog is a dairy based beverage made with sweetened milk or creamer, mixed with beaten eggs with a hint of liquor, nutmeg, and cinnamon. A very popular drink in the USA during Christmas. We took an eggnog flavoured balm since they're really popular in the US, and chose the one mixed with ice cream to give it a milder scent for Malaysians.
Having never really had eggnog before, -save the time where me & my BFF attempted to make our very own eggnog- I really did not quite know what to expect from this lip balm. Taking a whiff from the balm, it’s got a nice cinnamon scent that’s slightly coffee-ish, and an overall creamy flavour. It’s sweet with a mild vanilla flavour, rich and creamy from the sweetened milk. It’s essentially a very creamy, milky lip balm. Definitely worth having if you love cream, ice cream, milk & cinnamon! :)

Festival of Lights: Funnel Cake Flavour! A favourite boardwalk treat. Fried Yellow Cake with Powdered Sugar! Yum!!
As this is something I’ve never had before, I really did not know quite what to expect with this Funnel Cake lip balm flavour. I would say that it reminds me of the Vanilla version of Pink Cake. Equally yummy but not quite as cakey as Pink Cake. It’s got a wonderful vanilla flavour, with a rich powdered sugar scent & a sweet cakey scent to it as well. It basically feels like taking a bite into a fried Vanilla cake & licking all the vanilla icing sugar off it! Sinful & sweet.
It’s stevia sweetened so you can’t help but keep licking it off your lips!

Mad Scientist: Twisted Melon Flavour! An unexpectedly tasty mix of watermelon and peppermint.
Out of the 4 balms, this has to be one of the lightest and most refreshing of the lot. It’s got a strong peppermint scent & flavour that leaves a tingle on your lips. I know the description says watermelon, but I get a more honeydew scent & flavour to it. It’s incredibly light, feels wonderfully refreshing & fruity, while it may seem like an odd combo this really is a great pick me up lip balm! If you love mint, and you’re not too crazy about rich, creamy lip balms this would be a great one to add to your collection. :)

Have any of you tried these balms? Which are you looking forward to trying? Cynthia’s got a new one up that’s unflavoured with very fine glitter in it called Tinsel! Can’t wait to get a hold of that!

Texture-wise, these balms are the same as all the other MLS balms. Smooth & moisturising with an added yummy twist!

Golden Globes 2012

While I sadly was not able to check out the Golden Globes 2012 Live, I definitely did make use of the internet to check out what all the celebrities wore!

Below are a few of my favourites and a few which I thought were nice despite it being a bit blah.

Loves.

Is it any surprise that Angelina Jolie’s gorgeous red & nude dress by Atelier Versace would be a favourite? The stunning cut, the appropriate slit, the perfect folded red lapel, everything is just perfect! Coupled with Jolie’s slick back hair, red lips and red clutch. This definitely has to be my favourite dress of the lot!

While it may seem a tad Chinese New Year-ish to some people, I personally rather like it! I love the cut outs on the top, the tiers at the bottom. I love it’s gorgeous firecracker red. Frankly, I think this dress by Giles Deacon on Dianna Agron is simply stunning. I like how it stands out from the rest of the dresses.

Am loving the shade of purple this Dolce & Gabbana dress is in! I love how Ariel Winter looked in this lovely purple ballerina-like dress, I do find the dress wearing her a little instead of her wearing the dress, but I think it’s still a good choice. The dress is young & fun, perfect for someone her age.

Lea Michele is looking absolutely sexy & stunning in this silver Marchesa number. I love that it’s sheer on top with silver patterns all over, covering up the appropriate bits and I love the silver train on the dress. It’s a very liquid silver look, and I must say Lea wears it well.

This dress somehow reminds me a of a viper, albeit a rather feathery viper at the bottom, but a viper nonetheless. I think it’s just the unique shade of gold/green that is the dress and how it hugs then flares out at the bottom. Not a shade I’ve seen often and Evan Rachel Wood really manages to pull off this Gucci dress well.

I like how Kelly Osbourne manages to pull off this edgy Zac Posen dress. I like how the dress itself is edgy but Zac Posen decided to tone it down with a simple shade of blue. However, what I don’t like is Kelly’s hair with the dress. Unless her goal was looking like a vampire, in which case I think she succeeded quite well.

Sarah Michelle Gellar in an ocean blue and white Monique Lhuillier dress. What absolutely struck me about this dress is the bright ocean blue and the way it’s painted. I love how it looks like a brushstrokes by a painter and how it reminds me of the crushing waves of the clear blue sea.

Not a dress I would normally wear, but I do like how it’s a mermaid cut below with a fitted jacket on top. I like how the waist of the jacket is pulled fitted with a chiffon material that goes well with the chiffon in the skirt. Also, I don’t quite think anyone else would be able to pull this Haider Ackerman dress off as well as Tilda Swinton.

Like, but don’t love.

I like how this dress is really simple. It’s a classic black all over, with a simple one-shoulder and a lovely full drape skirt. The dress itself isn’t too wow or outstanding, but in all it’s simplicity it’s really very pretty. I also like how Debra Messing kept everything really, really simple in this Monique Lhuillier gown.

A pristine white dress by Maria Lucia Hohan. I love the slight train at the back of the dress, the backless-ness of the dress and the way the straps just fit on to Kathleen Robertson’s shoulders. Another simple dress, that is lovely. While simple dresses are really nice & lovely, I find that I always prefer the edgier, more elaborate ones. Hence why these few dresses are in the Like, but not love section.

There were quite a number of nude dresses that night at the Golden Globes, but I frankly like this Donna Karan one that Katharine McPhee the best. It’s not floor length like all the dresses there, it’s got a nice simple fitted cut and i love the slightly layered, shin length mermaid hem that it has. Another thing to note, is the subtle, shimmery leaf-like detailing on the dress.

If it was not for the dress being in shimmery bright yellow, I don’t think I would like it very much. What really makes this simple Blumarine dress unique is the shade. While Maria Menounos does make the dress look good, on it’s own I don’t think this dress would be particularly spectacular. But as I said, I love the colour!

Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang. I like how Sofia said that she liked Vera Wang because, she zips and it closes! She doesn’t have to go for fitting after fitting to just get it to fit right. With a banging body like Sofia, who wouldn’t wanna dress her! While I personally am not a fan of navy blue, I will make an exception to this dress. I love the way it hugs Sofia’s body and I just love the bottom detailing of the dress, I bet when she walks she’ll look like she’s gliding!

While I like the colour of Natalie Portman’s Lanvin dress, I wasn’t too crazy about the cut itself. I like the folded bust area in a different shade of magenta, but other than that the dress itself just doesn’t do much for me. While Shailene Woodley’s Marchesa dress has a really interesting design across the bust all the way down to her hips, the dress itself does look very ethereal but it’s still a bit blah for me. Nicole Kidman’s Versacec dress has patterns that are no doubt interesting and different and she looks really good in it, I still find it interesting and different but not outstanding. I like how it reminds me of goddesses in the olden times.

Pretty, but blah.

Nice shade, nice slit, nice flow of chiffon but nothing too interesting or great. A pretty dress, that’s a bit blah. Emma Stone in Lanvin.

With Heidi Klum being known for her crazy, different outfits (especially for Halloween!) I found this nude Calvin Klein dress with turquoise neck detailing immensely blah for her. We want something more!

Mila Kunis, I love the dress, I love the different lengths in the chiffon but girl this Dior dress is making you look a little short and frumpy. You can do so much better than that!

Kate Beckinsale I find has always chose to wear rather safe options. Lovely, but safe options. Like this pale, nude Roberto Cavalli dress. I love her jewellery, I love the sparkles in her dress, I love the chiffon flows in the dress but to me, it’s nothing spectacular. Another pretty but blah dress.

Elle Macpherson in Zac Posen. The dress itself no doubt is lovely, the tiers at the bottom is just crazy! But I find that it’s too much of a wedding dress to be worn on the runway. Not something I would wear to my wedding, but I’d consider it as one of the outfit changes. :)

Indifferent.

Jessica Alba in Gucci. Elizabeth McGovern in Jacques Azagury (she’s not 50! Is she?). Salma Hayek in Gucci.

Livia Giuggioli in Armani (gown made out of recycled bottles!). Kristen Wiig in Bill Blass. Sharon Osbourne.

Kayte Walsh. Paula Patton in Monique Lhuillier. Charlize Theron in Dior (at least she was being considerate this time and decided to put her giant bow LOWER!).

Health Day on Friday the 13th

Age: Old.
Mission: Get younger.
Action: Get healthy.

As me and Popo have officially reached the quarter century mark, we both decided that it was a jolly good idea to spend a day detoxing and doing healthy things.

Breakfast:
Carrots, Celery, Cucumber, Tomatoes, Flaxseed. (Popo’s breakfast everyday. Yes, she’s a nutcase. I know. Who would drink this willingly EVERYDAY??!!)

Celery being juiced in. I. Hate. Loathe. Despise. Celery. | Disturbing looking cucumber.

Leftovers. | As I felt that we shouldn’t waste the leftovers, Popo kept it in the fridge to be used later in our face mask.

Looks like orange juice. Did not taste like orange juice.
Since it was a drink and supposed to be good for me, let’s just down it. Plus, the tomato curdles if left out too long. How dodgy is that!

Reading by the pool.
Didn’t quite work out due to the fact that it was almost 12 noon and the sun was shining right into my eyes making me unable to open them properly to read. Lay there for awhile and decided to go upstairs to continue reading.

Reading didn’t quite work out too well, as we went ahead and played with Popo’s fluffy cats instead! Please excuse her fluffy flubby tummy, she’s on a diet. :)

Next came lunch.
What originally started out as a salad for me, turned out to be juice instead. Why you ask? Because asparagus and avocados are too expensive! My soul must still be in New Zealand, thinking of all the affordable asparagus & avocados over there!

So instead what happened? We had lettuce & broccoli instead.

BAD.IDEA. Do not attempt this at all!
We blended both the vegetables together with water and as we weren’t sure how long to blend it for it came out too lumpy and we were chewing our drink. And well, Popo was trying real hard not to spit it all back out.

What to do when that failed?
I suggested putting a bit of apple cider vinegar into it. While that helped a little, it was still way too chewy to drink. Back into the blender it goes with more water.

Final product?
Drinkable but not something we’d do ever, ever, ever again.

After lunch, I took a nice little nap on the couch while Popo being the hardworking person that she is continued on doing her design work. So peeps, if you’re looking for a designer to design your namecard, flyer, banner etc. Popo’s the person to ring!

Later, we did some gentle yoga! Stretching, twisting & breathing. All good for the body.

Tea.
Was a foot soak, face mask & hair mask while watching Paul Pilkingson. Okay fine, his name is not really Paul Pilkingson it’s actually Karl Pilkington. But don’t you just think Paul Pilkingson makes much more sense compared to Karl Pilkington?

Hello retarded toes.

Face mask was a combination of Olive Oil, Honey, Sugar & the vegetables leftover from breakfast.

Hair mask was a mix of Olive Oil & Honey heated on a pan to make it a hot oil treatment!

Properties:
Olive oil – packed with Vitamin E that’s supposed to slow the effects of aging by fighting free radicals while leaving the skin feeling hydrated, supple & moist.
Honey – humectant (attracts & retains moisture), antibacterial properties, reduces pimples & scars while also leaving skin feeling hydrated, supple & moist (you can tell this a very important to us!).
Sugar & vegetables leftovers – exfoliating properties.

After a quick shower to wash off all our masks, our hair & face never felt better! Our skin was definitely softer & smoother with a bit more spring to it, while our hair was softer, smoother, more manageable & with a noticeable shine.

As I’ve barely eaten anything all day, and all I had was vegetables & fruits I was feeling rather cranky and really looking forward to dinner where we could EAT!

We Googled an organic restaurant in TTDI and proceeded to make our way there only to find out upon arrival that it was CLOSED! It being after work & dinnertime the jam on the road was rather mental we decided a quick stop to Sid’s Pub would do the trick. Plus, I just had to point out again that I was REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hungry.

Popo decided to be adventurous and have a Chip Butty which turned out to be chips sandwiched between butter on bread. I thought that was rather lame. Who would waste good ol’ chips by eating it with bread!

Was a tad disappointed when they shrunk the vegetables portion!

Taking a sip from it, my face became not so happy as they seriously watered down the drink, making it taste like fizzy water. Complete & utter waste of money.

So there went our somewhat healthy day! We were doing quite well till dinner and the restaurant disappointed us by being closed! We’ll be attempting another health day for sure and a better planned one it will be!

Before the night came to a close, we went roller derby-ing.

Which let’s be completely honest here. I SUCK at. Seriously, put me on wheels and I just can’t cope. Spent the whole night on the classic rollers, gently shuffling my way around the rink because if I went too fast I wouldn’t be able to stop and would topple down like the WTC. So if you happen to be there and saw a damned fool shuffling around the rink. Yup, that’s me. Old & unashamed of my total lack of balance & coordination.

The wall and I are best buds. I will never leave it’s side.

Nasty, awful sport. Must try it again next time and will start with inline skates first instead of the roller ones. Will also come better prepared with padding everywhere!

10 things I like about New Zealand

Sometime in December, my family and I took a wonderful 2 week trip to North Island, New Zealand. Let’s just say I am completely and utterly in LOVE with the place! The air is fresher, there’s loads of green, the people are nice, people can occupy wherever (though of course now I am pretty sure they’re attempting to chase those folks away) and they’ve got DAIRY. Now who doesn’t love a yummylicious cone of icy cold, creamy lump of ice-cream. I sure do!

Now enough of the jabber and here are just a few photos of New Zealand. We visited Auckland, Waitomo, Rotorua, Wellington to name a few places. Well, I would name more except I can’t quite remember all of them. Not to mention that practically all the names are in Maori.

What I like is how when you’re driving from state to state, there are always little scenic places for you to stop, stretch and enjoy the view.

Though you can’t really see, but the water is so clear in the left photo that if you look closely, you can actually see the earth underneath all that foam. Yes, their water is that crystal clear. Le sigh.

Ah, to go bungee jumping again! Certain things you’ve gotta experience twice to truly understand if you like it or not. Either that, or I’m just making up an excuse to insist on going bungee-ing again. ;)

#01 Toilets!

Just imagine, free, clean toilets that smell nice! There was one toilet that was so exceptional, it was so pristine, so well maintained, there were no horrid wet spots on the floor and it smelled like blossoms, it was so wonderful that they actually had a guestbook in there saying, ‘I hope you like our toilets, because we do too! If it’s unsatisfactory, do let us know. If you like it do leave a positive note!’

Yes, I get excited about free, clean, public toilets. All their toilets are always clean and with ample toilet paper available. Even the toilets at the scenic areas where you shit in a hole.

Krabi Haul

Alright, I know this post is MUCH delayed but here it is at last! :)
Things I bought from Boots in Krabi!

First of, let me just say that since I decided to be cheap and did not choose to check in my luggage via AirAsia I sadly could not bring home this!

Boots Sun, Swim & Gym Shampoo and Water Resistant Protective Masque.
As the smallest size for these 2 bottles are at 200ml, I figured that I could use up 100ml during my trip and bring the rest of the 100ml back! Boy was I wrong! While I think I did manage to use 100ml the nasty bag checker lady REFUSED to let me bring it on the plane because… Get this. The bottle says 200ml. FML!
These 2 babies are what kept my hair feeling and looking normal for my trip! These 2 products are said to protect your hair from UV rays and protect your hair from environmental damage. Let’s just say it worked for my hair!

You know how it is with salt water, once you get under the shower your head of hair has become a mass of tangled disaster and painful tugging is required to ensure all the tangles are out. With this shampoo, all you had to do was use it once and you can immediately feel your hair untangle. Use it twice to have it fully untangled and feeling normal! And not draw and straw-like from exposure to sun, sea, sand & wind.

The hair masque is supposed to be put on prior to going out. While it does make your hair look wet all day long, I say it’s a small price to pay for not having dry, damaged irreparable hair! To be honest, I am not so sure if this made that big an impact on my hair. While it does say it’s water resistant after a few dips in the pool I can feel it disappear. I reckon this might need frequent reapplying throughout the day for optimum use.

Back to things I actually brought home!

As Boots was having a Buy 1 Free 1 promotion going on I decided to splurge and try out products from No.7. After all, I love videos done by Lisa Eldridge and I can’t help but wonder what the No.7 products are like.

Lash 360 in 02 Brown Black.
I like how natural the colour looks, but the product itself was a tad disappointing. It did give my lashes a bit of length and volume but not quite as much as I thought it would. Considering that it’s supposed to give Maximum 360degrees volume from root to tip.

Moisture Drench Hydration Complete in Sienna.
I was looking for a corally colour so I picked up this one hoping that it would be quite corally. While it is a nice coral colour, I felt that on my skin it was a tad too orangey. Damn you yellow undertone! So while I can’t use this colour full fledged I can still lightly dab it on my lips to create a nice light coral colour. :) No loss here!

And that’s about it from Krabi. Well, I did get 2 boxes of Boots Tampons as well. They were cheap! Or at least cheaper than it is to get them here in Malaysia. Country, please bring Boots over! We want Boots not Guardian! Guardian just doesn’t cut it!
