Froyo was a frequently seen dessert all over Singapore many years ago. Now, it has taken Malaysia by storm and recently Penang as well.

There are many "froyo" chains such as Tutti Fruitti, Fruuze and even Coffee Bean is selling it. Moo Cow is the latest addition in Penang.

Decorated with cute interior decorations and wall papers.

Something different from the other froyo outlets at least.

There are froyo and yoghurt cheese cakes. Unfortunately, cheese cake is sold out. Just order which flavour you want and head over the counter to add your topping.

One thing we are not sure why they only have dry toppings. No fresh fruits.

Nevertheless, they taste good.

If you have tried the Siam Road Char Koay Teow and find that its not enough to fill your stomach, you can head over to Jalan Pahang (the road after Jalan Siam).

For those who are not familiar with this area, there is a wantan mee stall selling just right outside of his house.

Simply order for this guy and you can take a seat at the tables placed at his house yard.

This stall provides 2 types of noodles. The fine noodles and flat noodles. For some people, they like to mix both.

Many have come for the "Sui Kow". It's big and they didn't skimped on the vege.

If you noticed the picture above, there is a sugar cane juice stall at the house entrance. A chilling drink for a warm night. Big and small glass size is available.

Penang Georgetown Siam Road Char Koay Teow

Although Penang Laksa sits at CNN's top 50 best food in the world, Penang Char Koay Teow cannot be missed out. Many of our friends recommend Dato Keramat Ah Leng Char Koay Teow, Pulau Tikus Sin Hwa Char Koay Teow and the list continues. Siam Road's Char Koay Teow is worth a try if you don't mind standing there for half an hour.

The uncle insists of frying the rice noodle dish individually to keep the taste consistent.

It's hard to find char koay teow stalls who still uses charcoal to fire their stove. Does the taste differ if a seller uses gas stove? We'll leave that for you to decide.

Smells good and "wok hei" is there. Based at the price tag the stall displayed is RM3.50 (small), RM4.20 (medium), RM5.50 (big). Siam Road is just along Jalan Anson, just keep to the left side of the road and drive slow.

Penang Botanical Garden Tropical Fruit Ice

Everyday is a hot day in Penang and the only thing you ask for is an ice chilled drink or dessert.

Instead of heading to a mall's dessert chain , you can enjoy the ice dessert at Penang's Botanical Garden (Kebun Bunga).

The tropical fruit ice dessert from Tropical Fruit Juice (Jus Buah-buahan Tropika) is just located along Jalan Kebun Bunga (not far from the entrance of Penang Botanical Garden).

A few worker is now manning the store.

Mango puree topping the ice shavings laced with brown sugar syrup. Beneath is a mixture of cut fruits such as honey dew, papaya and mango. Healthy dessert indeed.

A pretty good place to enjoy your dessert as you can breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the scenary.

Penang Weld Quay Chew Jetty Street Art and Food

The street art is not only limited to Georgetown area but has recently covered one of Penang's popular tourist spot, the Chew Clan Jetty.

So you are not only indulging with delicious local food but also food for your creative soul.

Many tourist has visited this jetty. Have you? As you walk along the plank walkway, you will see many souvenir shops which is not available a few years ago.

Old walk way planks are replaced and the area is given a fresh coat of paint.

Recently the Georgetown and Weld Quay area has become top choice for wedding photo shoots.

Some of the famous ah kong and ah ma wall paintings are located here. Depicting the locals of Chew Jetty in an interesting way.

From the Chew Jetty, you can clearly see the Tan Jetty on the other side and the newly renovated Goddess of Mercy Temple.

After walk around under the hot sun, we found the lady boss "frying" the ice cream.

Chilling and delicious. Just RM5 a bowl.

At the opposite site of the road, there is a stall selling fried fritters or locally known as Pisang Goreng.

The surrounding area also has other stall selling other delicacies such as famous Penang Laksa and iced desserts.

Chew Jetty is a lovely place to visit now especially during the weekends. Its great to see more people getting to know Penang better.

Penang Georgetown UNESCO Heritage Zone Wall Paintings

Apart from Bukit Mertajam, the Penang Island's Georgetown has much to offer as well. With the recent mural buzz, more and more tourists are curious about our dear city.

Penang's rich heritage all starts when Sir Francis Light came here to setup a settlement. The Church of Assumption is one of the religious building which was built by the original Penang settlers who followed Sir Francis Light to Penang.

Another person whom Penangnites should thank is Ernest Zacharevic. He is the artist who paints all the famous original wall paintings in Georgetown.

This children with the bicycle wall painting has become one of the most recognised wall paintings among international travellers including Hong Kong drama celebrity.

Another signature wall painting, a kid with motorcycle. Also a favourite among travellers. When we were there, we saw a group of professionals doing their commercial shooting.

After the original wall paintings became well known, local artists starts to add their own work of art. The brother and sister playing basket ball is one of them.

The brother and sister with swing is also another nice addition to the city.

Besides wall paintings, wire frame arts were also spotted around the same time as the original wall paintings appearance. Great works depicting our Penang's illustrious history.

Recently a local artist also set a feat by adding 101 cat themed wall paintings to various parts of Georgetown, Penang.

The Bruce Lee wall painting is definitely an interesting one.

Harvest Inn Cafe at Irrawady Road is one of the famous place for western food due to its ambiance and food quality. Good news as this restaurant is pork free.

Their restaurant interior is alright. The place will be packed during the night. That's why we opted to dine in during the day.

Rojak is a very popular delicacy in Malaysia, however different states can have different interpretation of rojak. In Penang, our rojak is the fruits version. At Bukit Mertajam (to be specific, directly opposite the high school's road side), there is a famous rojak stall which has been in business for many years.

It's stall sign simply means, "818 Lok Lok Rojak".

A contrast to our Penang Island laksa, Laksa Kelang Lama, Kulim tastes more similar to Malay style laksa, slightly sourish and less spicy. Because its not heavily flavoured, the bowl of laksa can be appetising. The noodles are homemade, so as expected, its springy.

Sometimes we also dip in a piece or two "laksa peah" (laksa crackers) to go with the laksa. Common practice among customers of this stall. Although we also find some stalls in Penang Island serving popiah with their laksa.
