As always, Fei Fei and his mysterious mission left us clueless but we follow suite, knowing Fei Fei would certainly brought us to some place nice (with fingers crossed). This time Fei Fei brought us out of Penang Island…to search for a special drink.

“To a what? A drink? All the way from Penang Island?” exclaimed Huat Koay. We are now hoping that the whatever place that we will be heading to, better be something real good that makes all the travelling worthwhile.

The 20 minutes journey finally brought us to an eatery place locally known as ‘Chu Chang Khar’ (underneath the trees) in Permatang Tinggi. The place is nothing except for few hawker stalls all hiding under the shades of trees. Our jaws dropped almost instantly when we saw this place. What does a place like this has that is so good enough to bring us all the way to mainland?

Smiling cheekily, Fei Fei pointed to a white van selling drinks. We are still not seeing anything special until Fei Fei placed the orders for a specialty coffee…

3-Bi (3 taste) coffee and Two Two milk tea

The owner instantly start working on the drinks. He lined up those olden style kopi-o cups that nowadays can only be found in those old kopitiam.

Then one by one, he scoop in Milo, packets of premix coffee, kopi-o and final touch, condensed milk. Give it a little stir before dumping all into a bigger mug…then tarik……

Pour into cups full of ice and voila! A cup of ice cold 3-Bi coffee. Thick and creamy with the Ooumph that will certainly bring you up to heaven if you are a great coffee lover. Best of all, the taste lingers in our mind for two whole days…making us kept craving for more*wink wink*. Guess what, this special combinations of milo and two types of coffee cost only RM1.80 per cup!!

The other specialty is Two Two Peng. Funny as the name, this drink is a combinations of milk tea with cereal (Nestum) and is served cold. I believe many of us often prepare a cup of hot cereal drink for breakfast but never served in iced cold. But surprisingly, we quite enjoy the texture of the cereal which melted almost instantly in our mouth. This cup of special drink cost only RM1.80.

Again, it was a mission accomplished for Fei Fei. He is indeed a good food hunter…anywhere…everywhere! With him around, we will certainly be up for surprises.

The place overlooked the sea with Penang Bridge and Ferry for the view, certainly less crowded and not forgetting the small-sized orchestra performance (per request *grin*). The food is undoubtedly excellent without burning a hole to your pocket. Do you believe it? Well, better do.

There is a place in town that neither QE II nor Hai Nan met all these criteria although they are located quite close to each other. Already start scratching your head?

The 3 of them loves to hang out but always ran out of places and ideas each time their friends came over to enjoy our beautiful beaches and sea. And that is how they finally came out with this concept not only for them but for everyone to chill out.

The designs will makes us feel like a little of Balinese style with solid wood furnishings around the entire outdoor area….Occasionally we were greeted with cool island breeze from afar while we comfortably sit at the open spaced are to enjoy a glass of cold drink with my other half.

The restaurant which opened its door on a very significant day, 09-09-09 gives a cozy and welcoming ambience when one step into the dining area.

They have quite varieties of ala-carte as well as set meals which can satisfy your big appetite. At the price of RM16.90, the Ramen set meals came with chawanmushi, salad and fruits; while the Bento set meals are from RM16 onwards and inclusive of rice, soup, salad, chawanmushi and fruits.

One can also opt for mix & match of the sides that came along with the Ramen set shown on the set menu.

As usual, PenangTuaPui with big appetite ordered salmon Sashimi and a few of the Ramen and Bento sets to taste.

Salmon Sashimi (RM25) – Need us to say more? Just by the look from the picture, you can certainly predict what will be the outcome…it is none other than a simple word of NICE!!

PenangTuaPui were delighted to received a surprise Christmas gift…an early Christmas Goodies to give us a head start with the Christmassy mood! Just look at these gorgeous cupcakes, don’t you think these cuties are just the perfect Christmas gift?

Frankly, I thought that they were too adorable for one to consume but to just put them up for display instead. Look at the cute little sugar-art Santa, he is a keepsake for sure. Who would have the heart to bite off his head? That would be too awful

And, the ginger bread cookies Christmas tree. Simply creative!
