The steelhead streams are all but frozen over again, as is <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Presque</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Isle</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">Bay</st1:placetype></st1:place>, but the ice there is not necessarily thick enough to support fishing. <o:p></o:p></span><o:p> </o:p></p>

<p><span style="font-family: Arial"><o:p><span style="font-family: Arial">The Lake Erie tributaries are absolutely loaded with steelhead in <st1:state w:st="on">Pennsylvania</st1:state>, <st1:state w:st="on">Ohio</st1:state> and <st1:state w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">New York</st1:place></st1:state>. Some of the creeks are locked in ice, but there is some fishing going on. Most creeks to the west of <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Erie</st1:place></st1:city> are covered by ice in the better fishing areas. Upper Elk Creek does have a fair amount of open water, though. Some anglers are drilling holes at Walnut Creek Access, but there have been no reports of success yet. On the east side, the only reliable open water is at Sixteen Mile Creek.<o:p></o:p></span><span style="font-family: Arial"><o:p> </o:p></span><span style="font-family: Arial">Finally there is some ice fishing at <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Presque</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Isle</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">Bay</st1:placetype></st1:place>, although thickness is still marginal. There is no area where the ice could be called safe. Use caution wherever you go. Crappie, bluegill, bass, perch, pike and a few steelhead have<o:p></o:p></span></p>
