I think Bigdeal.com is closing down, anyone? I am not trying to spread rumors but go take a look today and see for yourself. I had been suspicious of this and tried Google for news but I couldn’t find any. This is what I saw:

1. Only 2 pages of items for the next 32 hours and no more items on auction after. That’s never happen before and I had been a member for exactly 12 months.

2. No more Apple products. Apple iPad, Macbook, iPod Touch were the biggest money making items for the site and no more. This raised my suspicion at the beginning. Why would a site that’s depending on TVs and Apple products be not having auctions on these???

3. No more bid packs on auction. Has anyone seen an auction site with no bid packs? There used to be even beginner’s bid pack for 10 or so. My only guess is that if you’re closing down, you should not scam people to get bid packs that can never be used again.

3. I checked their traffic and it’s drop by 43% compared to one month ago. Well that could be explained by lack of products on auction too.

4. Usually bigdeal.com has jewelries, handbags, tech stuff when it’s all thriving and now I see dated products. There’s a Halo Reach XBox package. That’s almost 6 months old for an auction.

I think these are signs: no more key products, no bid packs, significant traffic drop, selling old and less inferior products than past history.

So what I did last night was to submit a support ticket and get refund for all my bids. Fortunately I was able to before the possibility that it could go down and not getting any money back.

Just to be safe we highly recommend taking Sam’s approach and emailing them for a refund, get out before it’s too late. We know what you’re thinking…”people are jumping ship, it means low competition”. This type of thinking is extremely wrong in a situation of bankruptcy, because if they file they will receive protection on all their liabilities and this includes the money or prizes they owe everyone and yes, this includes you too!
