My children are grown and we are so blessed to now be sharing God’s word with our Grands. It is so much fun. All of mine grew up with Adventure Bibles, and while I don’t like the newer versions of the NIV Bible as much as that fantastic 1980s version, I do still appreciate it, personally I think we need to study more than one version. Jesus did not speak the King’s English and he did not speak like we do here in TN either. I believe God’s Word needs to be studied not just read. But all that said children need to start with a simplified version that they can learn to read with. And yes I do believe the Bible is something they can learn to read with. Just my opinion. After all that I loved the newest Adventure Bible, it will draw them in! The pictures were inviting and the chapter intros were great. We really enjoyed it. Hope you do to.

I recently listened to a podcast by Michael Hyatt that shared the benefits of gratitude, more specifically living a life of Thanksgiving. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, green beans, sweet potatoes and rolls, and always cranberry sauce. And then the desserts. Some things may change a little here and there but these were constant. It just didn’t feel right if those things weren’t there. I still like to cook at home rather than visit a friend’s house just to make sure I get those same dishes fixed the same ways. There is something comforting about it. I finally found a great solution. I finally realized we can and should cook a turkey dinner more often that just a holiday! There is no reason not to have this great dinner at least once a month during the winter. Winter sometimes seems like it drags forever and this monthly celebration sure does make it warmer. Loved this movie because of course, I love a redemption story.

I thought this was a great sequel, the last one left me feeling like there was something missing, but this one finished it up and was worth the wait! The problems were real, you could feel his anguish, her heartbreak, his turmoil and in the end the healing. We all say that God is big enough for every problem, but when the problem is this big and this serious those words just don’t fit. More than words are needed. I love that this movie gave the real feeling that comes with the real answer. I cried and I hope you do too.
