I love getting the mail. I have such wonderful friends that I get good stuff. Not jut on my birthday either, but all the time. Yesterday I got the new DVD from Teaching Good Things.

Oh what a treat it was. This one is called “How to Make a Patchwork Quilt”. Now y’all know I already know how to make a quilt because I told you all about making a quilt for my grandbaby before she was born. I even showed you pictures. However I would not call myself a pro at quilt making and even if I were we can always learn something new. So anyway I could not wait to pop in this DVD, literally it was in ten minutes after I walked in the door. I was not disappointed. I can honestly say I love anything taught by Kathy Brodock. She is a very gifted teacher. She makes things look do-able. After watching this DVD I had learned something new, in fact several things, and I was inspired, and I wanted to make a quilt!

She begins with choosing fabric, boy am I ready for that one, I have so many bins of fabric scraps we cant figure out where to put them all. The next part was something new for me though, cutting with rotary cutters. now I have used them before but as efficiently as she showed, and now I know why. I have always kind of done things the old fashioned way until someone could show me why I needed new tools. Well Kathy showed me, she used the cutter, clear rulers and a cutting mat. I will be adding the supplies she suggested, not a lot but just the few she suggested, it will make a big difference next time we quilt. As far as piecing the quilt, she had good suggestions there also. When putting it together she again showed me something new using basting spray. When she came to the binding she showed two different ways of doing it and again I learned something new. The quilt she made looked easy enough and it as beautiful

I love the way these videos are put together, very professional and yet personal. You feel like Kathy is in your living room. She has a VERY pleasant voice and explains things well, the videos are easy to follow. And I also like the soothing background music in between chapters. All around I give this a 5 stars! Yay! I loved her other videos too and we have gotten together to give you a special treat . It is Tackle It Tuesday at 5minutesformom.com and I haven’t even posted yet because I am so busy tackling!
Well, todays’s tackle is just not fun, in fact it is kinda boring, unless I get creatively side tracked, it which case it will be fun but not as productive. I have several momma blogs. Because I tend to do 12 things at once and this one would seem really scattered. So I write more specifically on the others. Many folks have one blog with several categories, but even that doesn’t work for me. So I have one about recipes, and one about homeschooling and one about country life and one about blogging even and so on.

Today, it is maintenance day for my momma blogs. An unfortunate boring job that must be done.

here is my hit list,

• update plug ins
• remove spam comments
• upgrade wordpress
• evaluate if the theme is still right
• add things
• evaluate sidebars and widgets
• set goals and see how they are progressing

and when I get that done I get to create, and that gets fun!! I would love to have the time to create themes, but for now I just customize the ones I have. Ahh well. What are you working on?

At least up until now we have been able to believe that they didn’t understand what they were doing. I just really don’t even know how to process this. All I know to do is pray. This man obviously does not serve the same God we do, so we pray that his eyes are opened and that he comes to the true realization that he is ending what God has begun. Jesus help us all.

Abortion Practitioner Admits “Yes I Am” Killing Unborn Children During Abortions

Dallas, TX (LifeNews.com) – The late-term abortion practitioner at the new abortion center in Dallas has admitted in a shocking interview that he kills unborn children during abortions. Curtis Boyd is one of the few abortion practitioners to admit what he is doing, but he has no qualms with his job.

Boyd opened the first abortion center in Dallas in 1973 after the Supreme Court handed down the roe v. Wade decision allowing virtually unlimited abortions.

In an interview with WFAA yesterday after news surfaced that he re-opened his late-term abortion center, Southwestern Women’s Surgery Center, in the huge metro area last week after more than a year following the closure of the Aaron’s abortion facility, he makes a startling admission.

So, what Works For Me This Wednesday?

Thanksgiving is my favorite. No gift giving, no pagan worship, nothing scary or wicked. Just thankfulness. But even thankfulness can give you a headache if you are too stressed to be thankful.

My biggest tip? Plan ahead. Have a list for everything and everything on a list.

My second biggest tip? Have a huge thanksgiving meal at least once a month through the winter. It puts a smile on everyone’s face. Even if it is below zero and you can’t get out. keep fixins on hand. You can get several turkey’s now while they are on sale . And just keep those warm fuzzy thankful feelins flowin.
