    I arrived while it was snowing and drove up north for the night and came back to a city that looked like it hadn’t even rained.  The sky was cloudy but clear and beautiful.  I was driving on Interstate 5 and got to see the Space Needle from the distance.  I had dinner at a nice elegant Italian place and then called it a night. 

    The next morning I woke up to a snow covered ground and cars.  There was snow everywhere.

    As we were traveling the Northwest we realized right away that we were going to need a vehicle with a little more traction or at least All Wheel Drive.  We rented a Subaru Forester for our trip in the Spokane region and were on our way. 

    We arrived at the location where we needed to be just outside of Coeur d’Alene and stayed for the night.  The storm must have hit pretty bad because the next morning we walked out to the car to load our bags in the car and saw this…our license plate had icicles hanging from it and the temperature was about 25 degrees or so. 

    I also came across this Exit sign that has some very serious issues for anyone trying to use it.  The icicles look to measure at about 5 feet or so. 

    I will admit the region is very cold in the winter and I can imagine that it must be beautiful in the summer and I hope to see it someday.

    • Related posts brought to you by Yet Another Related Posts Plugin.]]>     IMG 2192 thumb Snow PlowWhile I was in Idaho this past week I seen a bunch of these Snow Plows working hard to keep the highways and roads free of any loose snow.

    I must admit that it seems like a very dangerous job that these guys are out there working day and night to keep these roads clean during the dangerous storm.  I understand that their trucks are a lot heavier than your ordinary vehicle but it still seems pretty risky to be out in the front of all that snow and having all those vehicles depending on you to get the roads clean. 

    While we were in Coeur d’Alene we actually seen a group of 6 different Snow Plows driving down the road in a row.  They had a huge group of vehicles right behind them.

    We came across this crossing that seemed interesting to me as I am always interested in seeing trains and the tracks they ride on.  It was amazing to me that there wasn’t more snow covering the tracks as if a train had just passed over cleaning all snow on them.
