Midwives, nurses, doctors and support staff in the maternity units at both Epsom and St Helier hospitals were celebrating last week (9 February 2012) after learning that they had achieved key safety standards in the way that they deliver care to parents-to-be. The Clinical Negligence Scheme for Trusts has awarded both units the level 2 standard, which indicates that patients can expect to receive a high level of care in a safe environment.
