in an attempt to stop procrastinating the other day, i went ahead and ticked off from my to-do list the clean up Drive D entry. been wanting to have my turtle-pace laptop rebooted/reformatted but never really got the chance to cos i always forget to make a backup copy of my files and the boy/personal technician got busy with work-related trainings. so for the longest time, i tolerated its insanely slow processing pace that i almost always want to shoot myself every time it wants to conk out on me. luckily, like how you always find little treasures while rummaging through an old chest, i found a couple of outfit shots that almost made the Recycle Bin its permanent residence. this was taken last october, a week after i got back from my tour and before a dinner date with the family. i still cant believe that i decided to get a pixie cut but the pictures here made me realize that im better off with extremely short hair :D

Maze Teen Model Search

last saturday i had the privilege to witness the Maze Teen Model Search in front row seat. thanks to one of CFB's finest Eden Villarba of Chic In The Tropics and Maze Hipzone for the invite! the event started out with VIP cocktails and me and some of my CFB loves couldn't help but camwhore the entire time (photos to be posted in another post). it's true what Katt of One Frozen Margarita said in her recent post: "we bloggers dont talk. we just take photos of everything." True that, true that!

as any model search/pageant would start, the contestants briefly introduced themselves wearing their I Love Maze statement shirts.

like Gillian of By Details, i quite enjoyed the segment when the girls sashayed down the runway wearing quirky prints! now i am even more inspired to try the print on print trend! yes, the conventional dresser that is me still hasn't ventured into that arena yet haha!

last monday was spent running bank errands in the morning and having a wonderful time with gradeschool/highschool friends during dinner. its one of those days when you are most thankful for genuine people who may not always be physically present but you know will always have your back everytime you need them.

and i realized one thing. we are still the same crazy kids who guffaw after hearing just one catch word from a previous funny experience. yes, we converse with boisterous laughter all the time! ;)

when going through pictures and deciding which ones to upload, i just can't seem to decide if i want them in warm temperate tones or cool crisp ones.

its always a dilemma so i always end up with half of them warm, the other half, cool. the overall result? heavy picture post and this one's no exception. haha.

i do however have a bunch of favorite bloggers who never fail to post amazing pictures on their blogs and they're such an inspiration. i already have a couple of them listed on my roll so feel free to look them up. but if i happen to miss out on other equally awe-inspiring and gorjas ladies and gentlemen of the blogosphere, please let me know and leave a comment! it would be nice to have an additional 20 or so bookmarked links on chrome!

The flight back home proved to be a little more tasking than expected. One very early flight from Long Beach to San Francisco (and nearly missing our shuttle pickup), 4 huge luggages, 20 kilos in overall excess and dropping a few hundreds for the fee left me and the sister speechless and totally devoid of appetite for breakfast, lunch and dinner. i knew we should have packed light and included everything else in the sea cargo box but i just couldn't help it. pasalubongs are not pasalubongs when given a month or so after arrival, right?
but it's all good and it was all worth it! im just happy to be home and even tickled pink by my brothers' uncontained excitement.

Fall Precaution

its amazing how time flies like Superman high on amphetamines. 3 months have gone by so fast, feels like my life is running a 50k marathon without stops or on a car chase of 120 mile/hour speed. i cant believe that in a few days fall officially starts and my long chasing-after-summer vacation is finally coming to a close. in as much as i would like to stay and watch the beautiful seasonal senescence of leaves, plans are brewing back at home and i just cant wait to wear my optimism on my sleeve. life here is nothing short of wonderful and i feel so blessed to be surrounded by warm, beautiful and kindhearted souls. but before i get all mushy, slushy and sentimental in this comeback blog, here's a big shoutout and thank you post to Anshe and David T! i love you two and you both know why! i shall see you and NYC soon! if not this year, maybe next? ;)

anyway, im so hyped up for fall and i cant wait to bring on the warm mustard-color goodness of the season!

another quick post since im packing like crazy again for this weekend's getaway. days are packed with endless city tour, sightseeing and mild shopping hence the late and sporadic posts. i've been visiting blogs but couldn't leave comments since im only using my phone. but i promise to make my presence felt and leave comments real soon!

pictures are from our Santa Monica visit one windy (more like chilly) afternoon and i couldn't help but flinch every time i see beach goers going in for a swim. i was already cold just sitting by the beach and i cannot imagine how it must have felt for them. but the water would have been worth a try if only i brought beach esentials with me. oh well. maybe next time ;)

LA Blues

i woke up feeling blah today. idk why but the heat is just getting to me! i should be used to this what with the stinging Cebu sun but its just unbearable sometimes. but its still good that we're going out today and hitting another The Outlet outlet somewhere in downtown LA. the sister's itching to check out all the shoe rack sale. lol.

oh and we went to this really fun and fancy place called The Grove and saw Jennifer Love Hewitt shopping. definitely a starstruck moment! would have walked up to her and ask if we could have our picture taken but she was just too busy going through all those beautiful bags :) and i wasn't able to help but have my picture taken with an Abercrombie model. oh my goodness. he's like the new age Adonis!

Nine Long Hours

quick outfit post. the almost 24hour travel from Cebu to Korea to San Francisco had me wishing i was somewhere sunny and warm. i have poor tolerance to cold so you can only imagine the pain i went through! LOL. it also did not help that we had to stay in Incheon for 9 long hours. good thing there's Lucas to keep me entertained. nothing like a cup of coffee and a good ebook at hand to while away the time.

we're off to LA on friday and i haven't finalized my packing yet and it just kills me cos i still have so much to share with you guys! hopefully i can squeeze in a few minutes tomorrow to make another post. i still owe my beautiful fellow cebu bloggers pictures from our recent blogger meet!

this running-after-summer vacation should do me the world of good. i've only been to the beach once and the sun wasn't even cooperating that time. total bummer, right? so i'm really looking forward to some sun worshiping when we get there. will be leaving in a few days but my suitcase is still sitting quietly in the corner of my room. i really should stop procrastinating and start packing.

first day in bohol was spent visiting all amazing tourist spots. its our third time here but the place never fails to amaze us. its incredible how they've kept their pier clean and well-organized. what was even more impressive was the seaport's comfort rooms! for someone who is so anal about commode cleanliness, tagbilaran seaport will surely get my vote should there be a cleanest seaport restroom contest.

the family stayed at Panglao Bluewater Beach Resort and although the place was still undergoing construction, our stay was truly remarkable.

to give you a better perspective of the resort and its amenities, here's a little note from the hotel's brochure:

Panglao Bluewater Beach Resort is just 30 minutes from Bohol Airport and the Tagbilaran City's shopping and commercial district. It is close to popular tourist destinations such as the historic Baclayon Church, world-famous Chocolate Hills, Loboc River Cruise and the Tarsiers.

For accommodation, the first phase of the resort comprises of 54 elegantly appointed guestrooms and villas. In the pool wing, all ground-level rooms have a private veranda with direct access to the pool. First floor rooms have private balconies and for guests who prefer a more luxurious accommodation, the Villas offer premiere rooms with private outdoor dipping pool. Deluxe pool view is a spacious guestroom that surrounds the main swimming pool.

since we're a big family, we got two rooms and luckily (as always! lol), the sister and i got 1 room all to ourselves! instead of sharing it with our two younger brothers, my dad insisted that the boys stay with them! how cool is that?! but that should not come as a surprise cos ever since we hit puberty, dad practiced that we get a separate room for us girls only! nice, eh? haha :)

their deluxe room is simple yet elegant and furnished with cantilevered beds and its very own iHome system(!!!) among all others. although the first phase's first floor rooms are still under construction, the place is already beautiful! too bad the weather was all gloomy that weekend, would have soaked it up in their secluded beachfront! oh well, maybe next time? :)

i dont wanna bore you will all the other details so here's our itinerary:

• Loboc Ecotourism Adventure Park. their Zipline has a breathtaking view of the Loboc River and it has two levels! it's a must try! and can i say that i just conquered my fear of heights?! yeahbah.

• Loboc River Cruise. after the exhilarating experience, we all made our way down to the Loboc River for our sumptuous lunch buffet.

• Tarsiers. a short drive from our drop off point was the place of our little primate friends. we were all glad to see that most of them are no longer caged.

• Chocolate Hills. our third time here and its breathtaking, still.

• Baclayon Church. we made a short stop here but wasn't able to take some decent pictures since it was already dark.

• Hotel. to freshen up and get ready for another delectable buffet.

can i just say that we had the best tour guide ever? Ate Tessie is sooo talkative and funny and she knows all the common species in the region. of course its her job to be oriented with these kind of things but she made learning about Bohol so much fun! thanks, Ate Tess!

Mother's Day Special

so after the very short manila trip, the family made a beeline to bohol to enjoy the weekend as well as spend mother's day in the shores of panglao. our 2-day stay was not enough but am still thankful that we had that much need breather. thank heavens for that!

lunch at bohol bee farm was highly pleasing to the senses! love the sight of their organic garden salad that i almost did not want to eat it. their squash muffin was equally delicious too! this was on our 2nd and last day, btw. first day was spent touring around bohol and lounging by the pool after a delectable dinner. but that i will have to share in another post!

i've heard and read a lot of my friends say that they're on self-imposed shopping ban. at first i found it hard to believe that anyone who adores fashion and all things pretty can muster all the guts to say no to a pair of gorgeous platforms, a remarkably beautiful satchel and an even prettier floral dress. why torture yourself when all these covetable goodies are calling out your name? it doesn't make that much sense.

but when the much anticipated 1 day manila trip ensued and we heard from the consul himself of the very very good news, i found myself continually saying; no more shopping this may. i can and will pass up on all the opportunities to buy pretty little knick knacks here just so i can shop in all the right places during our upcoming trip! so yes, there you go. starting today, i am officially on a self-imposed shopping ban. this watch i bought at Fashion Rack NAIA 3 will be the last purchase for me this month. wait. no, SHOULD should be the proper auxiliary verb if i want this shopping ban to be a success. i will, i should and i must stay away from all clearance, sale and new arrival racks until i get off that plane come July. West Coast, i shall see you soon!

i hate how the sister would say with so much conviction that i look like a kindergarten teacher in this ensemble. but having known the clothing policy in our churches, i had no choice but to wear what had been the only option there ever was for me that day. be that as it may, i am still happy to say that i just added two adorable names to my growing list of godchildren; Danette and Dastan. Yes, boy and girls, they're twins! and a boy and a girl at that! How lucky could my friends be? Will post pictures of them soon, right after our planned mini photoshoot with Di, the mother, for them cutie pies.

on a different note, i will be flying to Manila with the family tomorrow for some important matter and it bums me out that i cant wear comfortable shorty short shorts. yes, i will never get tired of donning them and besides, this erratic weather is calling for all things short and comfy. but since i was told to wear something smart casual, and am not in my perfect shape and mindset to come up with something close to that, all i can say is.. good luck to me and my poor compliance in dress codes. hee!
