Yes, It's true Our very own brother Deitrick has done the right thing...In my opinion... He has brought out of darkness something that the devil would want to use to bring this great Gospel singer down. He is now divorced from his now ex-wife Damita Haddon. He is moving on with his life. We may not have all the details, but you don't need them. He is at peace with God. He is Forgiven...God has already forgiven him for whatever he may have done to sin against him, so who are we to continue to hold this against him. Let him live in peace with his family. Deitrick, I pray that God continues to bless you and your family. We all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. We repent, and ask God for forgiveness and we move on with our Life in Christ to the best of our ability.

So Family, Let's keep Damita Haddon in our prayers as well, I know her to be a powerful woman of God and she will be alright in Jesus Name. God Bless you.

"I said a few days ago that i could write a best seller on 2012 alone & i think i will!!! 2012 wasn't the worst year of my life because 2011 beat it out hands down. In 2012 i began to see God move in my world like I've never seen in my entire life... I can say 2012 was the most challenging year @ the same time the greatest year of my life because in the midst of all the darkness & depression that seemed to have no end God sent an angel to give me hope in the form of my baby girl.. Yes she was born out of wedlock which is absolutely wrong for a man in my shoes....but i must say that If it wasn't for that child & her mother the negative headlines about Deitrick Haddon would have been more devastating than anything!!! The enemies agenda in 2012 wasn't to give me a bad name but he wanted to take me out. That's when i realized if the enemy is trying this hard to stop me God has something serious that he wants me to accomplish; so i fought hard physically & spiritually!!! God has delivered me in many ways this year.. He walked me through the storm, chastised me but never once judged me, but instead he forgave me,restored me & somehow gave me the strength to continue to sing his gospel when i said i wouldn't do it because i felt unworthy! My new year's focus is to leave all the negative energy behind, own my mistakes, but do not allow it to hinder my future!!! By doing so I will stay true to the call on my life but do it with more fire, passion, humility & love than i've ever done it before.In addition, be the best father to my beautiful daughter and be the great husband i know i can be to my future wife & Give God all Glory! Detroit pastor Marvin Winans assaulted, carjacked

Popular Detroit pastor and gospel singer Marvin Winans was assaulted and carjacked Wednesday afternoon at a gas station on the city's west side.

The attack happened about 3:20 p.m., and the suspects fled with an unknown amount of cash and Winans’ SUV, police said.

Winans, 54, told WXYZ-TV that four or five young men followed him from inside the gas station and attacked him while he gassed up his vehicle.

Winans said he didn't believe he was seriously hurt, but planned to seek medical attention.

He said his attackers appeared to be among 10 young men he passed by inside the station, and he warily watched them as he pumped gas.

“I'm just saddened that it has come to this,” Winans said. “This kind of nonsense just has to stop. It's just the savageness of what's happening in the street.”

He also believes his attackers didn't recognize him. Winans is pastor of the 4,500-member Perfecting Church on Detroit's east side. In February, he gave singer Whitney Houston's eulogy.

“And if they did, it didn't make much difference,” said Winans, who has been active in civic issues, including taking a stand against the proliferation of strip clubs in Detroit's neighborhoods.

Shooting of Trayvon Martin

The fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman took place on February 26, 2012, in Sanford, Florida, United States. Trayvon Martin was a 17-year-old African American male who was unarmed

George Zimmerman was a 28-year-old multi-racial Hispanic American, who was the community watch coordinator for the gated community where the shooting took place.

While on a private errand, Zimmerman saw Martin walking inside the gated community where Martin was visiting his father and his father's fiancée. Zimmerman called the Sanford Police Department to report Martin's behavior as suspicious.

Shortly afterwards, there was an altercation, which ended with Zimmerman fatally shooting Martin once in the chest at close range.

When police arrived on the scene, Zimmerman told them that Martin had attacked him, and that he had shot Martin in self-defense.
Zimmerman was bleeding from the nose and mouth; and had two vertical lacerations on the back of his head.

EMTs treated Zimmerman at the scene, after which he was taken to the Sanford Police department where he was questioned for hours, taped a video statement, and was released without being arrested.

Police said that they had not found evidence to contradict his assertion of self-defense.

The circumstances of Martin's death, the initial decision not to charge Zimmerman, and questions about Florida's Stand Your Ground law received national and international attention. Allegations of racist motivation for the shooting and police conduct contributed to public demands for Zimmerman's arrest.

A Special Prosecutor was appointed to take over the investigation and on April 11, 2012, she chose to file charges of murder in the second degree against Zimmerman.

Zimmerman then turned himself in and was placed in custody.

On April 20, the judge approved Zimmerman's bail on a $150,000 bond.

He was released from jail on April 23 and is required to wear an electronic monitoring device until trial.

Justice will be served. One way or the other. God is the Ultimate Judge.

The self-appointed neighborhood watch leader who gunned down an unarmed black teen may have uttered a racial slur before the shooting as he spoke with Florida police dispatchers.

The tape of George Zimmerman’s 911 phone call is unclear, but he may have said “f---ing c--ns,” under his breath as he followed Trayvon Martin. The dispatcher told him he did not have to follow the teen, but the confrontation took place moments later.

Zimmerman, 28, has not been charged in the Feb. 26 shooting. He said he shot Martin, 17, in self-defense. Police called Zimmerman white, but his family says he is Hispanic.

The killing sparked heated reaction.

At a town hall meeting Tuesday evening in Sanford, Fla., civil rights leaders urged residents to remain calm but demand that the shooter be arrested.

The case has ignited a furor against the police department of this Orlando suburb of 53,500 people, prompting rallies and a protest in Gov. Rick Scott's office Tuesday. The Justice Department's Civil Rights Division said it is sending its community relations service this week to Sanford to "address tension in the community."

Earlier in the week, the federal agency opened a civil rights probe into the shooting, and in Florida, Seminole County State Attorney Norm Wolfinger said a grand jury will meet April 10 to consider evidence in the case.

At the town hall meeting, more than 350 people packed into the Allen Chapel AME Church.

People jumped to their feet and cheered when local NAACP leader Turner Clayton Jr. said the federal Justice Department should not only review the investigation but also take over the Sanford Police Department.

Other civil rights leaders said the city's police chief should step down.

"This is just the beginning of what is taking place," Clayton said. "We're going to make sure justice prevails."

Earlier Tuesday, an attorney for Martin's family revealed the teenager told his girlfriend just moments before he was killed that he was being followed.

"'Oh he's right behind me, he's right behind me again,"' 17-year-old Trayvon Martin told his girlfriend on his cellphone, attorney Benjamin Crump said.

The girl later heard Martin say, "Why are you following me?" Another man asked, "What are you doing around here?"' Crump said.

Crump told reporters Tuesday Martin cried out when a man bearing a 9-mm. handgun came at him. Police said Zimmerman, who was found bleeding from his nose and the back of his head, told authorities he yelled out for help before shooting Martin.

"She absolutely blows Zimmerman's absurd self-defense claim out of the water," Crump said of Martin's girlfriend, whose name was withheld.

Martin, who was in town from Miami to visit his father in Sanford, called his 16-year-old girlfriend in Miami several times on Feb. 26, including just before the shooting, Crump said.

The discovery of the lengthy conversations, including one moments before the shooting, was made over the weekend by Martin's father, who checked his son's cell phone log, Crump said.

The teenager told the girl on his way back from the store he'd taken shelter from the rain briefly at an apartment building in his father's gated community, Crump said. Martin then told her he was being followed and would try to lose the person, Crump said.

"She says: `Run.' He says, `I'm not going to run, I'm just going to walk fast,"' Crump said, quoting the girl.

After Martin encountered Zimmerman, the girl thought she heard a scuffle "because his voice changes like something interrupted his speech," Crump said. The phone call ended before the girl heard gunshots.

The last call was at 7:12 p.m. Police arrived at 7:17 p.m. to find Martin lying face down on the ground.

Zimmerman was handcuffed after police arrived and taken into custody for questioning, but was released by police without being charged. Police have interviewed Zimmerman twice since then.

Crump called the treatment patently unfair and asked if Martin would have received the same treatment if he had been the shooter.

"We will not rest until he is arrested. The more time that passes, this is going to be swept under the rug," Crump said.

Crump said he plans to turn over information about the call to federal investigators; a grand jury in Seminole County is also likely to subpoena the records. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is also involved in the state case.

Former federal prosecutors said there are limitations to a Justice Department civil rights probe, which typically would involve a sworn law enforcement officer accused of abusing his authority.

In this case, they said, it's not clear whether Zimmerman had any actual law enforcement authority or if the Sanford Police Department did anything improper. Zimmerman had a permit to carry a gun, but it was not required for his neighborhood watch patrol.

During the town hall meeting in Sanford, Florida Rep. Geraldine Thompson promised the law's repeal would be a top priority for the state legislature's black caucus.

"If vigilante justice becomes the norm, will visitors feel comfortable coming to our state?" she said.

An online petition urging local authorities to prosecute Zimmerman had drawn more than 700,000 signatures at website Change.org as of early Wednesday. About 50 defense attorneys and protesters filled the lobby in the governor's office Tuesday to deliver a letter seeking an independent investigation and a task force to study racial profiling. They applauded when Scott came out of his office to talk to them.

Robert Zimmerman, George Zimmerman’s father, delivered a letter to the Orlando Sentinel indicating that the depiction of his son in the media has been misleading.

The letter says he was raised in a multiracial family and “would be the last to discriminate for any reason whatsoever. The media portrayal of George as a racist could not be further from the truth.”

Can You Believe This?

Can you believe George Zimmerman set up a website where people can send donations and it appears he is getting quite a bit of support approximately $200,000 worth of support. Most people are shocked to hear this as I am. It has been reported that Zimmerman’s lawyers did not know about that money when his $150,000 bond was posted which he only paid 10 percent of to be let out of jail.

Trayvon Martin’s parents lawyer Benjamin Crump has requested that the bail be revoked since Zimmerman did not expose just how much money he really had at the original bond hearing. Florida Circuit Judge Kenneth Lester says he plans to address that at a hearing after giving Zimmmerman’s lawyer Mark O’Mara some time to gather information and prepare his defense on the matter.

In case you did not know George Zimmerman is the man who shot and killed Trayvon Martin.

George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch volunteer who fatally shot Florida teen Trayvon Martin, has been charged with second-degree murder -- more than six weeks after the shooting.

Zimmerman has claimed self-defense.

Zimmerman expressed remorse and told Trayvon Martin's parents: "I am sorry for the loss of your son.

I did not know how old he was. I thought he was a little bit younger than I am. I did not know if he was armed or not," Zimmerman said.

This was the first time he has spoken publicly about the Feb. 26 shooting of the unarmed black 17-year-old.
