Today we're going to do something a little different than originally planned because ya know what? Sometimes you need to remember people. Celebrate them. Cry over them. Sing at the top of your lungs to their songs spreading your arms like they do, pretending your voice is that of an angel. No? Just me on the last part? Well, whatever. Today is Whitney's day.

This song has exta special meaning to me. It was my first kiss and my "song" in the 7th grade. Every time I hear it, I think of him and laugh... and smile. Oh, to be young and in luv. It's true though. I totally still love the kid.

Every time I have a new crush, I generally get all weird and giddy. This plays on repeat when I get ready. If any of my guy friends read this, shut up. I'm still a girl.

Another youngin' flashback. This song is in my favorite movie of all time. What movie is that you say? Oh, just my 5th grade graduation video. My parents took it away from me because I watched on repeat in middle school. It was a rough transition time for the kitty. No more recess. No more fun P.E. games.... annyyywayyy.

I could keep posting Whitney videos all day, but I feel like y'all might stop listening after the third one anyway so I will stop here. Such incredible talent though. Such a wonderful Fairy Godmother in Cinderella. An 80's icon. May she be at rest with our heavenly Father, and may her music continue to make me and all y'all dance a fool and remember first kisses.

So since we've last chatted quite a bit has happened. I am debating with myself right now. Bullet or number? Bullet chronologically or by importance? Number? AH! It's just too much. There are too many ways to organize, and I'm too OCD. I think chronologically. I've made my decision.

1. I'm now a University of Alabama Alumni. Um what?

2. Left y'all for Pinterest. Follow me here.

3. I had a birthday, which I voluntarily chose to spend in College Station, Texas.

4. Another best friend got married. I was the MOH.

5. Got an iPad.

6. Got a Noah. To clarify. He is not mine, but I would take him in a heartbeat.

7. BIG GIRL APARTMENT DREAMS ARE COMING TRUE!! I move in February 1st.

8. Became obsessed with the series Friday Night Lights. Yes, I'm aware it's over, but it's on Instant Netflixs. It has changed my life. More on that soon.

9. Won another National Championship. Roll Tide. #14 to be exact.

10. AM BACK IN BLOGGING ACTION.

Kyle planned this special day to a tee. He hired the incredible photographer Whitney Runyon to capture the moment. Brilliant. He called me to tell me before it was happening, and I literally lost my marbles. I was in my Human Rights class learning about genocide or something atrocious when I got the Facebook message explaining the plan. Burst into tears during class. Needless to say, my professor thinks I'm psycho, but it meant so much to me that he wanted to make sure I was a part of their future. Uh, love him.

Engagement Shoot: Madison & Stuart

I am so excited to feature Madison and Stuart today. Madison of Simple & Lovely is a great friend from home and one of my closest guy friend's older sister. She and Stuart are a few years older than us and will be getting married mid-July in Austin.

They look SO in love in these photos. Whitney Lee Photography did a fabulous job of capturing this. It's true, they are head-over-heels for each other. Great to see it captured on film like we capture it in person.

Quick background story: Stuart drove this car in high school and was our mascot. (It was cool to be the mascot. Swear on it.) I was the little lowly freshman who couldn't drive and thought that 1. His car was "SOO COOL" and 2. That he was adorable. Oh to be 15 again. Hilarious. Don't think I ever told Madison this background info. I'm sure if she is reading this she is dying. Yep, that's right I was diggin' yo man. Not to worry, the tween girl crush has faded. Haha.

Their new last name will be Ford. Making these photos that much better.

Apartment Inspiration

My lovely friend, Shushu (awesome name, huh?), asked me to design for her a little room for post graduation and pre big girl apartment. Her parents have graciously given her an extra room in their home as her lounge area after work to have friends and feel like she is living on her own. Great parents! The room has an existing brick wall we needed to work with. She told me her style was "Anthropologie meets Urban Outfitters" and her favorite color was yellow. She also has an existing sectional sofa she will be using from college so we had to fit that in as well. Here is what I came up with:

So I waited a whole effing year for that wedding and then what happens? Oh, just an F5 tornado. AND THEN KATE HAD THE NERVE TO STEAL MY DRESS. I was sooo mad. Well, okay I love her, but I mean Kate for real? God just made me face my biggest fear, and then you steal my dress! Is that a joke? I bet y'all don't believe me, but y'all know that "file" I always talk about? There is something in that bad boy that looks almost identical. Now, if I wear my dress I will look like a copy-kate WHEN THE TRUTH IS Kate, copied Cat!

Aline. Lace. Scandy neckline. I'm tellin' y'all a hacker from Alexander McQueen got in my file.

I bet y'all thought I was going to show you my dress didn't you? Psh, what do y'all take me for? An idiot? I know you bridezilla-older-than-me-biotches would steal my brilliance in a heart beat. I was in a funk but I'm BAACCCKKKK!!

Well helllooooooo! Y'all I'm back, but I have to say I've totally been in a funk. Like F-U-N-K. Ril bad. Senior year ended so abruptly, and I thought I would handle it well. I was wrong. We had two weeks left with our friends. Two weeks. That is a long time in college, and they were just stolen from us by that flippin' tornado. Not only did it steal our surroundings, friends, belongings, but it also stole our memories. Needless to say, I've been having a rough time. What was supposed to be so happy is now dull and depressing. My senior class did not get to walk across stage, or throw their caps, become Kappa Alumni, have our Bar "Krawl," or say goodbye properly to old friends and roommates. Instead, we got thrown out into the real world like debris from the F5 that waltzed through our town.

So now y'all know why I've been neglecting y'all. I'm in a tad bit of a funk. Not depressed because I think depression lasts for longer, but a funk. Just not feeling like my bubbly sass-pot self. BUT I am not going to let the tornado from Hell get me down. I'm back. And happiness from now on! I only have reasons to be happy. I am alive. My family and friends are alive. I have a home. Graduation has been rescheduled for August (which is when I was going to walk anyway) but now my May friends will be there to walk with me!

I will say though, I am still going to talk about the Royal Wedding and my thoughts because how could I not! I have to! We'll be playing a tad bit of catch up this week, but then back to the goods! Hope everyone is having a splendid Monday!

Prayer: We NEED it!

Please pray for everyone affected in the storms in the South this week. It is absolutely devastating what has occurred. I just want to give an update to the current situation because the Royal Wedding is getting more coverage currently. I am sooo thankful to be alive and well without any damage to myself or my personal belongings. Some were not so lucky. Friends have lost their homes, pets, and had roofs ripped off over their heads as they huddled in basements for their lives. Others did not make it through the storm and I pray they were taken quickly, without pain, and are rejoicing with our Father in Heaven. I also ask that you pray for their loved ones who are so grieved in this time. Pray for their peace and understanding in what we cannot see IS TRULY God's plan. I just ask y'all to be with all of us during our time of grief and need. I pray we come together now more than ever as a strong community and rebuild what has been lost and create new bonds, friendships, and safe havens for everyone affected. More specifically, I ask you to pray for the Harrison family and their friends. Their lovely daughter Ashley passed away in the storm. I had the pleasure of spending time with her and getting to know her. I can say without a shadow of a doubt; I will not ever forget her. She was a "pistol" to say the least. Full of life. No fear. GORGEOUS. Brilliant. Brutally honest. Faithful woman. Future lawyer. Phi Mu. Texan. She will be truly missed. Let us not loose sight of the fact that she and the others taken are with Him. It is the only thing getting me through this time.

Here are two videos to help outsiders understand what has happened:

For those who don't understand the magnitude, this is the MOST congested area of Tuscaloosa the tornado could have possibly gone through. Thousands upon thousands live on the tornado's path and have been wiped off the map. The F4 went passed by my apartment complex by nearly 200 yards. Best friends and next door neighbors were inside. Let me assure you our newly built apartments COULD NOT have withheld a tornado of this magnitude. Prefabricated just doesn't cut it for an F4. I praise God they are alive and well. The storm was 1/2 mile wide and ripped through the beginning of Tuscaloosa and did not stop there as you could see. President Obama will be arriving at some point today to assess the damage. I've assessed it. It is like nothing I have ever seen and hopefully will never see again.

Not so fond of the F*bomb dropped in the second, but the underlying message is great. Believe in yourself. You can do it. IT WILL BE WORTH IT.
