دست خانم مدیر بود٠ بیشعور احمق نمیدونی بهائیا حق ندارند از شیر آب عمومی استفاده کنن٠ می خوای همه رو نجس کنی٠

مچاله و بغض کرده بگوشه ای رفت٠ صدائی از پشت سر به گوشش رسید٠ برگشت و دید چند دست کوچک از زیر روپوش مدرسه قمقمه های آبشان را بسویش دراز کرده بودند٠

US House of Representatives condemns the persecution of Baha’is in Iran

The House of Representatives passed, by a vote of 407-2, a resolution condemning the government of Iran for:-

Condemns the Government of Iran for its state-sponsored persecution of its Baha’i minority and its continued violation of the International Covenants on Human Rights;

Calls on the Government of Iran to immediately release the seven leaders and all other prisoners held solely on account of their religion, including: Mrs. Fariba Kamalabadi, Mr. Jamaloddin Khanjani, Mr. Afif Naeimi, Mr. Saeid Rezaie, Mr. Behrouz Tavakkoli, Mrs. Mahvash Sabet, Mr. Vahid Tizfahm, Ms. Raha Sabet, Mr. Sasan Taqva, and Ms. Haleh Roohi; and

Calls on the President and Secretary of State, in cooperation with responsible nations, to immediately condemn Iran’s continued violation of human rights and demand the immediate release of prisoners held solely on account of their religion, including Mrs. Fariba Kamalabadi, Mr. Jamaloddin Khanjani, Mr. Afif Naeimi, Mr. Saeid Rezaie, Mr. Behrouz Tavakkoli, Mrs. Mahvash Sabet, Mr. Vahid Tizfahm, Ms. Raha Sabet, Mr. Sasan Taqva, and Ms. Haleh Roohi.

Although the trial of seven Baha'i leaders imprisoned in Iran for more than 17 months was scheduled for today, when attorneys and families arrived at the court offices in Tehran they were told it would not take place. No new trial date was given.

"The time has come for these seven innocent people to be immediately released on bail," said Diane Ala'i, the Baha'i International Community's representative to the United Nations in Geneva.

"The seven, whose only 'crime' is their religious belief, are once again in legal limbo, held with no idea of the legal process ahead of them. The whole charade cries out for an end to their unlawful detention," she said.

The seven are Mrs. Fariba Kamalabadi, Mr. Jamaloddin Khanjani, Mr. Afif Naeimi, Mr. Saeid Rezaie, Mrs. Mahvash Sabet, Mr. Behrouz Tavakkoli, and Mr. Vahid Tizfahm.

Official Iranian news accounts have said the seven are to be accused of "espionage for Israel, insulting religious sanctities and propaganda against the Islamic republic." They have also been charged with "spreading corruption on earth."

Last week, it appeared likely that the trial would indeed be postponed again, since attorneys for the seven had not yet received the proper writ of notification.

"The fact that their attorneys did not receive proper notification and that there is no new date for the trial is just one among many gross violations of Iran's own legal procedures, not to mention the violations of due process recognized by international law, that have marked this case from the beginning," said Ms. Ala'i.

Trial of seven Baha'is in Iran scheduled for 18 October

The trial of seven imprisoned Baha'i leaders in Iran is scheduled for Sunday. However, defense lawyers have not received the standard advance notification required under Iranian law.

"It is unclear whether the trial will take place on Sunday, or whether it will be postponed again," said Diane Ala'i, the Baha'i International Community representative to the United Nations in Geneva.

"If the trial does not go ahead, the seven Baha'is should be released on bail, as Iranian law requires," she said. "They are completely innocent of the accusations against them and should not have been imprisoned in the first place."

Ms. Ala'i explained that Iranian law requires that attorneys receive a writ of notification at least two business days before any trial takes place. She noted that Friday is not a business day in Iran, and since lawyers have not yet received the notice, it may be an indication that the trial will be delayed again.

The trial for the seven prisoners had originally been scheduled for 18 August. But on 17 August it was postponed to 18 October, after court officials agreed to requests from defense attorneys for more time to prepare, since they had not been given adequate access to the prisoners.

The seven are Mrs. Fariba Kamalabadi, Mr. Jamaloddin Khanjani, Mr. Afif Naeimi, Mr. Saeid Rezaie, Mrs. Mahvash Sabet, Mr. Behrouz Tavakkoli, and Mr. Vahid Tizfahm.

All but one of the group were arrested on 14 May 2008 at their homes in Tehran. Mrs. Sabet was arrested on 5 March 2008 while in Mashhad. They have been held in Tehran's Evin prison ever since, spending their first year there without formal charges or access to lawyers.

Official news agencies in Iran say the seven are accused of "espionage for Israel, insulting religious sanctities and propaganda against the Islamic Republic." They also reportedly face charges of "spreading corruption on earth."

"All of these accusations are absurd and baseless," said Ms. Ala'i. "Take, for example, the idea that they have been spying for Israel. That stems entirely from the fact that the religious and spiritual center of the Baha'i Faith is, through a fact of history, located in Haifa, Israel.

"Just as a Catholic archbishop is expected to communicate with the Vatican, so it is that these seven – with the knowledge of the Iranian government – communicated with their spiritual center, which happens to be in Israel. There is nothing wrong with that."

Mr Ban Ki-moon releases report criticizing human rights abuses in Iran

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon yesterday expressed strong criticism of Iran's human rights record, voicing concern about the use of excessive force after Iran's presidential election, the harassment of women's rights activists, the ongoing execution of juveniles, and the continued persecution of minorities, including Baha'is.

In a 19-page report written specifically to address a request made last December from the UN General Assembly about human rights in Iran, Mr. Ban said there have been "negative developments" in the area of civil and political rights since 2008.

The year saw "an increase in human rights violations targeting women, university students, teachers, workers and other activist groups, particularly in the aftermath of the elections," Mr. Ban said.

"Members of various ethnic and minority groups faced harassment, violence and, in some cases, persecution," he added, noting that "a pattern of concern arises with respect to the protection of minorities, including the Baha'i community, the Arab minority in Khuzestan, the Nematollahi Sufi Muslim community, the Kurdish community, the Sunni community, the Baluchi community, and the Azeri-Turk community."

The report made specific mention of seven imprisoned Baha'i leaders who were arrested in the spring of 2008 and have since been held in Evin prison, noting that the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has written to Iran "on numerous occasions to express concern and seek clarification" about the status of the seven.

Mr. Ban also noted that during the year reports "continued to be received about members of the Baha'i community being subjected to arbitrary detention, confiscation of property and denial of employment, government benefits, and access to higher education."

The report, which was dated 23 September 2009 but actually released yesterday, focused extensively on the government's response to post-election protests. It noted that Mr. Ban himself had on 22 June issued a statement "expressing dismay at the post-election violence, particularly the use of force against civilians, which had led to the loss of life and injuries."

That statement, the report noted, called on the authorities to respect fundamental civil and political rights, especially freedom of expression, freedom of assembly, and freedom of information. It also called for an immediate stop to the arrests, threats, and use of force. Yet, the report noted, a spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry said the following day that he rejected the secretary general's statement.

Like a similar report he issued last year, Mr. Ban also took note of reports of Iran's continuing execution of juveniles, reports of the use of torture, and the oppression of women's rights activists.

"I encourage the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran to address the concerns highlighted in the report and to continue to revise national laws, particularly the new penal code and juvenile justice laws, to ensure compliance with international human rights standards and prevent discriminatory practices against women, ethnic and religious minorities, and other minority groups," he said in the report's conclusion.

Bani Dugal, the principal representative of the Baha'i International Community to the United Nations said Mr. Ban's report was extremely welcome – and timely.

"Although Mr. Ban has praised Iran for some developments, such as government's pursuit of the redistribution of wealth and poverty reduction, overall the report is quite damning," said Ms. Dugal. "He also makes a number of suggestions about how Iran could make a constructive response, such as by opening the country to visits by special UN human rights monitors, and we sincerely hope that Iran will heed his call.

"Mr. Ban paints a grim picture of the situation in Iran, clearly indicating that the human rights situation has worsened since his report last year. Our hope, therefore, is that the UN General Assembly will again adopt a resolution this year urging Iran to live up its international human rights obligations."

Prominent Iranians call for religious liberty

A best-selling author and an Oscar-nominated actress are among those who have called for religious freedom in Iran, including an end to the persecution of Baha'is in that country.

Some 1,400 people heard Azar Nafisi, author of "Reading Lolita in Tehran," and Shohreh Aghdashloo, Academy Award-nominated actress for "House of Sand and Fog," speak at a public gathering this month at George Washington University's Lisner Auditorium. Both Dr. Nafisi and Ms. Aghdashloo were born in Iran, and neither is a member of the Baha'i community.

Dr. Nafisi spoke passionately about the common humanity of all people and the suffering of one being the suffering of all. She particularly focused on minorities in Iran and pointed to the example of the Baha'is.

"I ask myself," she said, "how does it feel to be deprived of every single basic human right in a country you call your own, in a country where you have been born into the language and the culture, a country where your parents and your parents' parents ... have lived and contributed to, what does it mean to be deprived of the right to education, of the right to property, of even the right to life?"

She said the struggle is "not a political struggle, it is an existential one." It goes beyond the Baha'is, she said, to "every single person in Iran who dares to be different, who dares to express his or her desire for the freedom to have a choice."

"Baha'is in Iran have become the canaries in the mine," she said. "You want to know how much freedom the Iranian people enjoy today, you go to the fate of its Baha'is."

Depriving people of their individuality is a way of killing them, she said. "It is worse, in fact, that just being plainly murdered. To deny your humanity, your individuality, is to be dead."

"The show trials that have been going on in Iran – all these people coming from such different backgrounds, such different ages, such different political and religious beliefs, all of them deprived of their individuality," she said.

The defendants, she said, were forced into confessing that "whatever they believed in, whatever lifestyle they led ... was a farce and sham. That is another way of killing people."

Ms. Aghdashloo, addressing the gathering via video from Los Angeles, said everything she had "ever read or understood about the Baha'i Faith" is that is stands for the oneness of humanity and inherent nobility of all human beings.

"I stand with many others around the world in conveying our unified voice in support of the Baha'is in Iran and wish to speak out against the ongoing and deplorable actions of the Iranian government," she said.

The event in Washington, held on 12 September, was dedicated to the Baha'is who are jailed in Iran, including the seven "leaders" who have been detained in Tehran's notorious Evin prison for more than a year on trumped-up charges of "espionage for Israel, insulting religious sanctities, and propaganda against the Islamic republic."

It was one of a number of gatherings held in recent months across the United States to offer prayers for the prisoners, including events in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and now Washington.

GENEVA — The trial of seven Baha'i leaders imprisoned in Iran has been postponed until 18 October, the Baha'i International Community learned today.

According to Diane Ala'i, the Baha'i International Community representative to the United Nations in Geneva, following a request for postponement of the trial from Mr. Hadi Esmaielzadeh and Ms. Mahnaz Parakand – attorneys from the Defenders of Human Rights Center who are representing the seven Baha'is – the court has decided to delay the hearing for two months.

Two senior members of the legal team, Nobel laureate Mrs. Shirin Ebadi and Mr. Abdolfattah Soltani, were unable to attend the hearing as Mrs. Ebadi is out of the country and Mr. Soltani is in prison, having been detained on 16 June 2009 in the wake of the civil unrest following the presidential election in Iran.

"Our hope now is that our seven innocent co-religionists will be released on bail," said Ms. Ala'i.

The seven Baha'i prisoners are Mrs. Fariba Kamalabadi, Mr. Jamaloddin Khanjani, Mr. Afif Naeimi, Mr. Saeid Rezaie, Mrs. Mahvash Sabet, Mr. Behrouz Tavakkoli, and Mr. Vahid Tizfahm. Due process ignored as trial date is set for Iranian Baha'i prisoners

GENEVA, 12 August 2009 — In yet another example of the denial to Baha’is in Iran of their rights to justice, including due process, judicial officials have reportedly set next Tuesday as the trial date for seven imprisoned Baha’i leaders – despite the fact that the lead lawyers registered with the court to represent them are either in prison or outside the country.

Further, efforts to have the accused released on bail have not succeeded. The investigation against them was concluded months ago but they remain incarcerated, without access to their legal counsel and with only the barest minimum contact with their families – contact that did not begin until some five months’ after their arrest, when they were finally taken out of solitary confinement.

Authorities recently sent to Abdolfattah Soltani, a key member of the legal team representing the seven Baha’is who is himself currently imprisoned in Evin prison, a notice saying that 18 August has been set as the trial date for the seven Baha’is. Dated 15 July, the writ of notification for the seven gives 9 a.m., 18 August, as the date for the trial, in Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran. That is the same court that tried Iranian-American journalist Roxana Saberi.

The writ of notification giving 18 August as the trial date was specifically addressed to Mr. Soltani, a well-known human rights lawyer and a principal of the Tehran-based Defenders of Human Rights Center, which was founded by Nobel laureate Shirin Ebadi and has since last year undertaken to defend the seven Baha’is.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Ebadi, the senior member of the legal team, remains outside the country.

“The judiciary’s decision to schedule the trial under these circumstances is an effrontery and yet another tactic aimed at depriving the seven Baha’i leaders of competent legal counsel,” said Diane Ala’i, the Baha’i International Community’s representative to the United Nations in Geneva.

“The Iranian authorities know full well who is serving as legal counsel for the Baha’is. Indeed, authorities have several times tried to pressure the seven to change lawyers.

“It is the height of absurdity to issue a trial notice to a lawyer who has himself been unjustly imprisoned,” she said.

“The willingness of Iran’s judiciary to flout the most fundamental internationally accepted norms of jurisprudence were brought to light in the widespread publicity attending the trial of Roxana Saberi.

“More recently, the attention of the world has been focused on the show trial of scores of individuals arrested in post-election turmoil in Iran, also without due process and which has included ‘confessions’ that were clearly coerced through torture,” said Ms. Ala’i.

The Baha’i International Community has called for the human rights of all the people of Iran to be respected and upheld. “Today, then, we raise the call on behalf of our innocent co-religionists, whose only ‘crime’ is their religious belief, and who face the most severe punishments if they are found guilty of the trumped-up charges against them.

“Instead of going on trial, they should be immediately released on bail, and, at the very least, be given adequate time for their attorneys to prepare a defense,” said Ms. Ala’i.

Ms. Ala’i also said that the 18 August trial date could not be taken as firm, noting that the families of the seven had been told in June they were to be tried on 11 July, only to have that date come and go.

“Given the past history of this case, the utter lack of concern for procedure on the part of authorities, and the current situation in Iran, it is simply not possible to know when the proceedings will actually begin,” she said.

The seven Baha’i prisoners are Mrs. Fariba Kamalabadi, Mr. Jamaloddin Khanjani, Mr. Afif Naeimi, Mr. Saeid Rezaie, Mrs. Mahvash Sabet, Mr. Behrouz Tavakkoli, and Mr. Vahid Tizfahm. The ongoing imprisonment of the seven and pending trial is particularly alarming because of their leadership position as the former members of a national-level coordinating group known as the "Friends in Iran." Some 25 years ago, other Baha’i leaders were executed after being rounded up in a manner similar to the way in which these seven were arrested last year.

British Baha'is meet with Prime Minister Brown on Iran concerns

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown met this week with members of the U.K. Baha'i community and underlined his government's concern over the seven Baha'i leaders being detained in Iran.

Mr. Lembit Opik, chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Friends of the Baha'is group, accompanied three Baha'i representatives to the meeting, held yesterday at the prime minister's office in the Houses of Parliament.

One of the Baha'is, Mrs. Bahar Tahzib - originally from Iran but now living in England - shared with Mr. Brown her first-hand experience of religious persecution. Her father was executed in Iran in June 1980 for being a Baha'i, and her uncle, Mr. Jamaloddin Khanjani, is one the seven Baha'i leaders arrested in the spring of 2008 and jailed since then in Evin prison in Tehran.

Charges against the seven have been reported in government-controlled mass media as "espionage for Israel, insulting religious sanctities, and propaganda against the Islamic republic" - accusations the Baha'i International Community categorically denies. No formal charges have been filed, however, and the seven Baha'is have had no access to attorneys.

Families of the prisoners had been informed that there would be a trial this past week, but now the families reportedly have been told there is a delay. No new trial date has been given.

Before their arrest, the prisoners were members of an informal committee looking after the affairs of Iran's 300,000-member Baha'i community, the country's largest non-Muslim religious minority. At least 30 Baha'is are currently being held in Iranian prisons because of their religion.

"I was very touched by the prime minister's genuine expressions of sympathy and concern," Mrs. Tahzib said after yesterday's meeting with Mr. Brown.

"My uncle is 75 years old, and he is being kept in unsuitable conditions for more than a year," Mrs. Tahzib said she told the prime minister. "This is clearly a cause of great concern for the family, and their wish is for a fair trial."

Mr. Opik noted that recent events in Iran have shown the world the methods - including manipulating the judiciary process - that the Iranian government uses to impose its will.

"The examples of the case of Roxana Saberi, the protesters picked up on the streets, in their homes and hospital beds, and the arrests of foreign and domestic journalists, among others, illustrate a pattern of arbitrary arrest, coercion, false confessions, baseless charges, and summary judgments," he said.

The other Baha'is who met with Prime Minister Brown were Dr. Kishan Manocha, secretary of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of the United Kingdom, and Mr. Barney Leith, director of diplomatic relations for the U.K. Baha'i community.

بیانیه کمیسیون ايالات متحده براى آزادى دينى در جهان

درخواست برای آزادی هفت بهایی بازداشت شده در ایران

کميسيون ايالات متحده براى آزادى دينى در جهان با انتشار بیانیه‌ای با مردود شناختن موارد اتهامی، خواستار آزادی هفت شهروند بهايی شد که در زندان‌های ایران به سر می‌برند۰

این کميسيون در بيانيه‌ای از دولت ايران خواست که از محاکمه اين هفت نفر به اتهام جاسوسی برای اسرائيل و ارتداد دينی صرف‌نظر کند و مقدمات آزادی آنها را فراهم سازد۰

اين بيانيه در پاسخ به نامه‌ای است که خانم رکسانا صابری، خبرنگار ايرانی آمريکايی خطاب به اين کميسيون نوشته شده بود۰ خانم صابری به جرم جاسوسی به نفع آمريکا محکوم و سپس حکم وی در دادگاه تجديد‌نظر به حالت تعليق درآمد۰ وی مدتی نزديک به چهار ماه را در زندان سپری کرد و در اين مدت زمانی هم با دو نفر از اين هفت رهبر بهايیان هم‌سلول بود۰

خانم صابری در نامه‌اش به کميسيون ايالات متحده براى آزادى دينى در جهان يادآور می‌شود که ميانجی‌گری در مسئله بهائيان در بند به مقام‌های ايرانی نشان خواهد داد که «حقوق انسانی مردم ايران مسئله‌ای است که مورد عنايت و توجه بين‌المللی قرار دارد»۰

رکسانا صابری که در دوران بازداشت خود با خانم‌ها مهوش ثابت و فريبا کمال‌آبادی هم‌سلول بوده، در ادامه نامه خود آورده است که اين دو نفر به همراه پنج مرد ديگر که از رهبران جامعه بهايی ايران هستند، بنا به گفته جامعه بين‌المللی بهائيان، قرار است روز شنبه ۲۰ تير ماه محاکمه شوند و اين در حالی است که به هيچ يک از وکلای خود دسترسی ندارند و حتی يکی از وکلای آنها يعنی عبالفتاح سلطانی در موج دستگيری اخير بازداشت شده است۰

خانم صابری در نامه خود يادآور شده که اين هفت نفر و دست‌کم ۲۰ بهايی ديگری که در زندان‌های ايران به سر می‌برند تنها به خاطر باورهايشان و فعاليت‌های صلح‌آميزشان محبوس شده‌اند و دليل در حبس ماندن آنها هيچ ارتباطی به «امنيت ملی ايران»، آن‌گونه که از طرف مقام‌های ايرانی ادعا می شود، ندارد۰

در بيانيه کميسيون ايالات متحده براى آزادى دينى در جهان از قول لئونارد لئو، رئيس اين کميسيون، آمده است که «انتخابات ماه گذشته ايران واقعيت‌های تلخی را در معرض ديد جهانيان گذاشت، از جمله اينکه حکومت ايران با مخالفان يا کسانی که ديدگاه‌های به زعم آنان تهديد‌آميز برای رژيم دين‌سالارانه دارند، چه رفتاری را در پيش می‌گيرد»۰

کميسيون ايالات متحده براى آزادى دينى در جهان، مؤسسه‌ای وابسته به دولت فدرال است که اعضای آن توسط رئيس جمهوری و رهبران احزاب در سنا و مجلس نمايندگان آمريکا انتخاب می‌شوند۰ وظيف اصلی اين مؤسسه موارد نقض آزادی‌های دينی در سطح بين‌المللی، ارائه پيشنهاد به رئيس جمهوری، وزارت امور خارجه و کنگره آمريکا است۰

غیر قانونی بودن دمکراسی در ایران

در هفته های اخیر قهرمانان بسیاری از زنان و مردان دلیر از سرزمین ایران برخاستند۰ ما هزاران هزار مردمی را که برای حمایت از دموکراسی به خیابان ها ریختند و خطر زندان و چه بسا بدتر از آن را به جان خریدند، به چشم خود مشاهده نمودیم۰

زنان در صفوف اوّل این تظاهرات آرام و صلح آمیز جای گرفتند، که بی شرمانه با خشونت آنان را سرکوب نمودند۰ ولی بیش از هر چیز این حقوق انسانی و آمال و آرزوهای آنان است که در معرض خطر است۰

این مبارزه ایی است برای آزادی و عدالت که خانم شیرین عبادی، حقوق دان برجستۀ ایرانی و برندۀ جایزۀ صلح نوبل، برای دهه های متوالی پرچمدار آن بوده است۰

خانم دکتر عبادی، قهرمان من و قهرمان هزاران هزار تن ازمردمان دیگر در سراسر جهان است که با مجاهدات خستگی ناپذیر خود برای دفاع ازحقوق مردم ستمدیده و مجحوف همچنان تلاش میکند۰

نمونه ایی از شجاعت و اعتقاد او به اهمیّت عدالت آنکه اعلان نمود که وکالت هفت تن از رهبران جامعۀ بهائی در ایران را، که سال پیش و قبل از تظاهرات اخیر دستگیر شده بودند، بعهده خواهد گرفت۰ البته عکس العمل مسئولین و مقامات رسمی ایران نیز نمونه ایی از واکنش های آنان بود۰ دفتر کار خانم عبادی مورد حمله قرار گرفت و تعطیل شد، جمعیّتی متهاجم و خشونت گرا بیرون خانۀ ایشان تجمع کردند و بار دیگر او و خانواده اش را به خطرات جدّی به جان و مال و امنیت شان تهدید نمودند۰

البته برای خانم دکتر عبادی این واکنش ها چندان هم حیرت انگیز نبود۰ چرا که نه تنها وجود او همچون خاری در چشم مقامات دولتی ایران فرو میرود بلکه جامعۀ بهائیان، که بزرگترین اقلیت مذهبی در آن کشور میباشند، همیشه و در تمامی طول تاریخ خود هدف آزار و اذیّت شدید قرار گرفته اند۰

بیش از صد سال است که پیروان دیانت بهائی، دیانتی جهانی که بنیان اش در ایران آغاز گردید، بخاطرآرمانهای مترّقی خود که بر اصولی چون وحدت ادیان، تساوی حقوق زن و مرد و همچنین حقّ تحصیل برای همه تاُکید شدید دارند، مورد تبعیض و آزار و اذیّت قرار گرفته اند۰ آنان از پیروی آیین دیانت خود ممنوع شده و در صورت عدم اطاعت با زندان و حتی اعدام مواجه بوده اند۰

اساسی ترین حقوق انسانی آنان همچنان مورد تضییع و پایمالی است۰ دستگیری و حبس بهائیان بطور گسترده و خودسرانه همچنان ادامه دارد۰ کودکان بهائی در انظار عموم مورد تحقیر و اذیّت و اهانت مسؤلین مدارس قرار میگیرند۰ جوانان بهائی از ادامه تحصیلات عالی محروم اند و تمامی پیروان این دیانت از اشتغال به مشاغل دولتی ممنوع میباشند۰ حقوق بازنشستگی آنان لغو شده و حق ارث از آنان به خاطر عقاید مذهبی شان مسلوب گردیده است۰ اماکن مقدسه شان و حتی قبرستانهای بهائی را تخریت و ویران نموده اند۰

مبارزه علیه جامعه بهائی در بهار سال پیش شدّت و حدّت تازه ایی یافت، وقتی که هفت تن از اعضای رهبری ملّی آنان در طی حملات ناگهانی به منازل آنها در صبح زود دستگیر شدند۰ حال بیش از یکسال از مسجونیت این افراد میگذرد بدون اینکه رسماً اتهامات علیه آنان را اعلان کنند و یا اجازۀ دسترسی به وکیل را به آنان بدهند۰ تا اینکه اخیراً به خانواده های ایشان ابلاغ کردند که تاریخ دادگاه محاکمۀ این زندانیان روز شنبه ١١جولای معین گردیده است۰

ما از اتهامات علیه این زندانیان مطّلع نیستیم۰ ولی بر اساس اخباری که از ایران گزارش شده به نظر میرسد که اعضای هیئت ملّی بهائیان ایران به جرائمی از «جاسوسی برای اسرائیل» گرفته تا «تبلیغات علیه جمهوری اسلامی» متهم گردیده اند۰ در ایران چنین اتهاماتی مجازاتهای سنگین در بر دارند از جمله اعدام۰

مسئلۀ دیگری که موجب نگرانی بسیار است آنکه بر اساس گزارشهای رسیده همان دادگاه انقلابی که اخیراً در پشت درهای بسته رکسانا صابری، خبرنگار آمریکایی، را محکوم کرد مسئول بررسی این پرونده نیز خواهد بود۰ محاکمۀ رکسانا فقط یک روز بطول انجامید که در خاتمۀ آن او را به هشت سال زندان محکوم کردند۰

تنها بعد از اعتراضات بین المللی بر این عدالت نمایشی و همچنین مجازات سنگین و نا عادلانه او بود که موجب شد بررسی مجدَد به پروندۀ او در دادگاه دیگری میّسر گردد، که آن دادگاه مجازات او را به دو سال زندان تقلیل داد و آن مجازات هم بعد از فرجام به حبس تعلیقی تخیف یافت۰

حال نیز باید همان فشار بین المللی را تا قبل از محاکمۀ این افراد اعمال نماییم تا مطمئن گردیم که محاکمۀ این هفت زن و مرد در دادگاهی منصفانه و عادلانه انجام خواهد گرفت۰ آنان باید به وکلای خود دسترسی کامل داشته باشند و وقت لازم نیز به این وکلاء داده شود تا بتوانند دفاعیۀ خود را آماده نمایند۰ این محاکمه نیز باید با حضور ناظرین بی طرف در دادگاه صورت پذیرد۰

در واقع ما باید اقدامات بیشتری در اعمال این فشار بعمل آوریم تا دولت ایران به تعهدات بین المللی خود عمل نماید، نه تنها در خصوص اجراء محاکمه های عادلانه بلکه در خصوص آزادی مذهب و عقیده۰ قانون اساسی ایران مدّعی است که از حقوق اقلیت های مذهبی آن کشور حمایت میکند، ولی حقیقت امر، بر اساس آنچه که پیروان سایرادیان در ایران به آن شهادت میدهند کاملاً متفاوت است۰

ولی حتی این حمایت لفظی و صوری نیز عمداً از جامعۀ قوی سیصد هزار نفری بهائی ایران سلب گردیده و آنان را از این اصل قانون اساسی مستثنی دانسته است۰ بهائیان نه تنها از حقوق انسانی خود در اجراء عقاید دینی شان محروم اند، بلکه کافر و مرتد نیز بشمار میروند۰

بر این اصل است که دولت ایران خود را در آزار و سوء رفتار پیروان این دیانت آزاد میبیند، دیانتی که اساس عقاید آن با عقاید تمامی ادیان بزرگ جهان و پیامبران الهی یکی میباشد۰ چقدر از حقیقت بدور است که پیروان این مذهب را خطری برای حکومت بخوانند، وقتی آنان بر اساس تعالیم دینی خود، از هرگونه دخالت در سیاست و عضویت در احزاب سیاسی ممانعت میورزند۰

اینکه دولت ایران همواره با سازماندهی و بطور سیستماتیک در آزار و اذیت بهائیان میکوشد از هیچکس پوشیده نیست – ایذاء و آزاری که در دوران دولت آقای احمدی نژاد به مراتب شدّت یافته است۰ کشور بریتانیا، اتحادیّه اروپا، مجلس شوراء آمریکا، مجلس سناء کانادا، پارلمان اروپا و بسیاری از سازمانهای بزرگ غیر دولتی جهان این سوء رفتار علیه بهائیان را نظارت نموده و محکوم کرده اند۰ اتحادیۀ اروپا در آغاز امسال آزار و اذیّت پی در پی شیرین عبادی و بستن دفاتر کاری او را شدیداً محکوم نمود و خواستار آزادی رهبران بهائی، که معتقدند «صرفاً بخاطر عقاید دینی شان» زندانی شده اند، گردید۰

درداخل ایران نیز بسیاری از دانشجویان و اساتید و کارمندان دانشگاه، هنرمندان، شعراء، سیاستمداران و فعّالان توسعۀ اجتماعی نیز در نهایت شجاعت در دفاع ازجامعۀ بهائیان ایران واعتراض به تبعیض علیه آنان سخن گفته اند۰ که حال این افراد دلیر نیز به نوبۀ خود قهر و غضب دولت ایران را احساس میکنند۰

حال ما نباید بگذاریم که تمرکز قابل توجیهی که هم اکنون متوّجه تظاهرات حامی دمکراسی و سرکوبی خونین آنان در ایران میباشد به چشم پوشی از خطر جدّی که بزرگترین جامعۀ غیر مسلمان مذهبی در ایران را تهدید میکند منجر گردد۰ تاریخ به ما نشان میدهد که دقیقاً در چنین شرایطی است که مقامات ایران تقصیرات را به گردن جامعۀ بهائی انداخته اند۰ مثلاً حدود دو هفتۀ پیش وزیر خارجۀ ایران، آقای متکًی، دولت بریتانیا را حامی «فرقۀ ضالۀ بهائی» خواند۰ پرچمها با شعارهایی نظیر «بی بی سی = شبکۀ خبری بهائی» در خیابانهای ایران به نمایش گذارده شدند۰ امروز، بهائیان ایران با آینده ایی بسیار خطرناک و نامعلوم مواجه هستند۰

ما باید از دولت ایران بخواهیم که محاکمۀ رهبران جامعۀ بهائی را در یک دادگاه عادلانه تعهد کرده و با اجازه دادن به حضور ناظرین بی طرف در دادگاه اجرای چنین محاکمه ایی را تضمین نماید۰ ما باید از ایران بخواهیم تا به تعهدات بین المللی خود در خصوص حفظ و حراست شهروندان آن کشور و آزادی آنان در پیروی از تعالیم و معتقدات مذهبی خود، بدون هیچگونه تبعیض و یا تهدید، احترام گذارد و عمل نماید۰

شیرین عبادی بانویی است دلیر و مدافعی بسیار قابل وارزشمند۰ ولی ما نباید به خود اجازه دهیم که این بار سنگین را او یکه وتنها بر دوش حمل نماید۰

بدینوسیله از کمیسیون شما، کاخ سفید و و زارت امور خارجه آمریکا تقاضا می نمایم که اقدامات فزونتری برای ایجاد آگاهی بیشتر در مورد پرونده هفت تن از بهائیان که قرار است روز شنبه در ایران محاکمه شوند انجام داده خواستار آزادی فوری آنان گردند۰

علاوه بر صد ها ایرانی که در جریان اختلافات انتخابات ریاست جمهوری دستگیر شده اند بسیاری دیگراز مدتها پیش از انتخابات د رماه ژوئن تحت عنوان «دستگیر شدگان امنیتی» در پشت میله های زندان بوده اند۰ چندی از آنان که «زندانیان وجدان» می باشند تنها بخاطر دفاع صلح آمیز از حق بیان، حق وابستگی یا اعتقاد مذهبی بدون رعایت اصول قانونی زندانی می باشند۰

این ایرانیان و مقامات مسئول که آنان را زندانی کرده اند باید بدانند که حقوق بشر ایرانیان موضوعی است که مورد توجه جهان است۰

من در زندان اوین تهران با دو تن از این «زندانیان وجدان» به نام های مهوش ثابت و فریبا کمال آبادی آشنا شدم۰ این زنان و پنج همکار مردشان رهبران بزگترین اقلیت مذهبی، یعنی جامعه بهائی، در ایران می باشند۰

در طول سالهای مدید بهائیان ایران بخاطر ایمانشان به دیانتی که عقاید پیشرفته ای مانند تساوی حقوق زنان و مردان واتحّاد ادیان و جوامع را ترویج می نماید مورد تبعیض،ستم و آزار قرار گرفته اند۰ همچنین به آنان برچسب مرتد زده شده بدین معنی که به اسلام پشت کرده اند۰ بسیاری از پیروان دیانت بهائی مورد ستم قرار گرفته و زندانی گشته اند و برخی حتی به خاطر اعتقاد به دیانتشان اعدام شده اند۰

مهوش، فریبا و پنج همکار مرد ایشان در بهار ۲۰۰۸ دستگیر شده، مهوش به مدت شش ماه و فریبا به مدت ۴ ماه در زندان انفرادی محبوس بودند۰ هر هفت نفر بدون اتهام و دسترسی به وکلایشان (که یکی از آنان عبدالله سلطانی است که اخیرا محبوس شده) زندانی بوده اند۰

به نقل از جامعه جهانی بهائی که خواستار آزادی فوری این هفت نفر و یا حد اقل محاکمه عادلانه و علنی آنان می باشد این هفت نفر در ۱۱ ژوئیه تحت محاکمه قرار خواهند گرفت۰ از جمله اتهامات ایشان جاسوسی برای اسرائیل و برچسب «مفسدین فی الارض» است که هر دو می تواند حکم اعدام را به همراه داشته باشد۰ در گذشته حکومت طهران قرارداد جهانی حقوق بشر را که خود یکی از امضاء کنندگان آن است نقض نموده، از چنین اتهامات مبهمی استفاده کرده و خودسرانه فعالیت های مختلف صلح آمیزی را با نام «حفظ امنیّت ملی» مورد مجازات قرار داده است۰

این هفت فرد بهائی و نیز حد اقل بیست بهائی دیگر که در سراسر ایران در زندان هستند خطری برای امنیت ملی ایجاد نکرده و تنها بخاطر اعتقاد مذهبی و فعالیت های صلح آمیز به دلیل وابستگی به جامعه بهائی زندانی شده اند۰ آنان داوطلب همکاری با رژِیم شیعه اسلامی بوده اند اما با علم به اینکه تصمیماتی که اتخاذ می نمایند اثرات بسیار گسترده ای بر حدود سیصدوپنجاه هزار بهائی و سایر اقلیت ها در ایران خواهد داشت از تسلیم در مقابل فشار برای ترک اعتقاداتشان خود داری می نمایند۰

انتظار می رود که مهوش، فریبا و پنج نفر دیگر از همکارانشان در شعبه ۲۸ دادگاه انقلاب محاکمه شوند، همان دادگاهی که من در ماه آوریل به جرم بی اساس جاسوسی محاکمه شده و به هشت سال زندان محکوم گشتم۰ خوشبختی فراوان من در این بود که پرونده ام توجه روز افزون جهانیان را جلب نمود و منجر به آزادی من شد۰

موقعیت بهائیان نیز نیازمند چنین توجهی است۰ دولت ایالات متحده و جامعه جهانی در بالاترین سطوح می توانند برتلاش های خود برای ایجاد آگاهی افزونتر در این مورد بیفزایند و با گذاشتن فشار بیشتر بر مسئولین ایرانی برای لغو اتهامات عـلیه بهائیان و سایر زندانیان وجدان آزادی فوری آنان را خواستار گردند۰

از توجه فوری شما به این امر که می تواند نجات بخش جان تعدادی افراد بی گناه باشد سپاسگزارم۰

Trial for seven Baha'i leaders reportedly delayed

GENEVA — Iranian officials have reportedly told families of the seven Baha'i leaders currently held in Evin prison in Tehran that their trial has been delayed. No new trial date was given.

Held for more than a year, the seven were reportedly to have been tried on Saturday, although this information, too, was based on oral reports from officials, and such reports have often been unreliable in the past.

The seven were arrested in the spring of 2008 and have been held more than a year without formal charges or access to their attorneys. Official Iranian news reports have said the Baha'is will be accused of "espionage for Israel, insulting religious sanctities and propaganda against the Islamic Republic."

The seven are Mrs. Fariba Kamalabadi, Mr. Jamaloddin Khanjani, Mr. Afif Naeimi, Mr. Saeid Rezaie, Mrs. Mahvash Sabet, Mr. Behrouz Tavakkoli, and Mr. Vahid Tizfahm. All but one of the group were arrested on 14 May 2008 at their homes in Tehran. Mrs. Sabet was arrested on 5 March 2008 while in Mashhad.

The Baha'i International Community has repeatedly said that the seven are being held solely because of their religious beliefs, calling for their immediate release.

Such appeals for the release of the seven have been echoed by governments and human rights groups around the world. On Friday, Amnesty International issued a press release calling on Iranian authorities to release the seven. On Thursday, the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom, responding to a letter from Roxana Saberi, the Iranian-American journalist who spent almost four months in an Iranian cell, likewise urged the release of the seven. Also on Thursday, European Parliament member Angelika Beer, speaking on behalf of the Parliament's delegation for Iran, called for the release of the seven, or, at the least, urged that any trial be free, fair and open.

دادگاه هفت شهروند بهایی به تعویق افتاد

ديان علايی،نماينده جامعه بهايی در دفتر ژنو سازمان ملل متحد در گفتگويی با راديو فردا می گويد که دادگاه هفت شهروند بهايی که قرار بود روز شنبه برگزار شود، به تعويق افتاده است٠

خانم علائی می گويد که مقامات قضائی به خانواده های اين هفت بهايی بازداشت شده اطلاع داده که دادگاه اين افراد به تعويق افتاده ولی مشخص نشده چه روزی اين دادگاه برگزار می شود٠

خانم علائی بار ديگر اين اتهامات را رد کرده و می گويد که وکلای اين هفت نفر يعنی شيرين عبادی، پيش از خارج شدن از ايران، و عبدالفتاح سلطانی، پيش از دستگيری، موفق به تماس با موکلانشان نشده اند٠

پیشتر اعلام شده بود که هفت شهروند بهایی قرار است روز شنبه در دادگاه انقلاب تهران به اتهام فساد فی‌الارض، جاسوسی برای اسرائیل، توهین به مقدسات و تبلیغ علیه نظام محاکمه می‌شوند٠

سازمان عفو بین‌الملل که می‌گوید این هفت نفر در صورت محکوم شدن با مجازات اعدام روبه‌رو خواهند شد از مقامات دولت جمهوری اسلامی خواستار آزادی آنها شده است٠

بهائیان می‌گوید اتهام جاسوسی برای اسرائیل که «سال‌ها علیه بهاییان ایرانی مطرح شده است» تنها از این مسئله ریشه می‌گیرد که مرکز جهانی بهاییان در کشور اسرائیل واقع است٠

هفت عضو تشکيلات جامعه بهایی ايران که در اردیبهشت‌ماه سال ۱۳۸۷ دستگیر شدند و هم‌اکنون در زندان به سر می‌برند عبارتند از مهوش ثابت، فريبا کمال‌آبادی، جمال‌الدين خانجانی، عفيف نعيمی، سعيد رضايی، بهروز توکلی و وحيد تيزفهم که به گفته جامعه بهاییان خارج وظیفه بررسی مشکلات پیروان این آیین در ایران را بر عهده داشتند٠

روز پنج شنبه گذشته نیز کميسيون بین‌المللی آزادی دینی در آمریکا در بيانيه‌ای از دولت ايران خواست که از محاکمه اين هفت نفر به اتهام جاسوسی برای اسرائيل و ارتداد دينی صرف‌نظر کند و مقدمات آزادی آنها را فراهم سازد٠

آزار بهائيان در سمنان

مجموعه فعالان حقوق بشر در ايران گزارش داد که درشب سه شنبه دوم تیرماه مهاجمین ناشناس به مغازه دو شهروند بهایی ساکن سمنان حمله کردند٠

مهاجمین بوسیله مواد آتش زا به مغازه فیلترفروشی آقای پیمان شادمان حمله نمودند و خساراتی را به محل کسب این شهروند وارد آوردند. تصویر بالا به این رویداد تعلق دارد٠

همچنین در این گزرش آمده است که در همان تاریخ مهاجمان ناشناس به وسیله مواد آتش زا مغازه عينک سازي اقای اکبر پورحسینی دیگر شهروند بهایی این شهر را مورد حمله قرار دادند٠

Reports of a trial date for Baha'i leaders falsely accused of espionage

According to information conveyed by the authorities in Evin prison to the family members of the seven Baha'is who have been imprisoned in Tehran, Iran, for over a year, their trial date has been set for 11 July 2009. This information has been provided to the family members only orally and, as information conveyed by officials concerning the judicial process has often proved unreliable, it is possible that the Iranian authorities may find some reason to change the trial date.

The seven were arrested in the spring of 2008 and have been held more than a year without formal charges or access to their attorneys. Official Iranian news reports have said the Baha'is will be accused of "espionage for Israel, insulting religious sanctities and propaganda against the Islamic Republic."

The trial is apparently scheduled to be held at Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court. This is where American-Iranian journalist Roxana Saberi was recently convicted of espionage and sentenced to 8 years imprisonment. She was eventually released, but only after an international outcry at the clear politicization of the case and manifestly unjust legal procedures.

"These seven individuals are facing completely false charges," said Bani Dugal, the principal representative of the Baha'i International Community to the United Nations. "They - along with the some 30 other Baha'is currently in prison in Iran - are innocent of any wrongdoing and are being held solely because of their religious beliefs."

بنا بر گزارش مجموعه فعالان حقوق بشر در ایران وضعیت یاران در زندان اوین نگران کننده ارزیابی شده است٠ در این گزارش امده است که علاوه بر فشارهای روانی همچون تمدید مکرر بازداشت موقت، نگهداری در بند امنیتی و بالطبع شرایط محدود کننده این بند، گزارش شده است تغذیه این افراد با محدودیتهای جدی روبه رو شده که سلامتی آنان را به خطر می اندازد. این در حالی است که مسئولان بند مذکوربه خانواده این افراد نیز اجازه تامین مایحتاج اولیه منجمله تغذیه مناسب را نمی دهند٠

در ادامه این گزارش مجموعه فعالان حقوق بشر در ایران یاداور شد که با اوج گرفتن بازداشت فعالان سیاسی و مدنی در روزهای اخیر در ایران و همینطور قطع امکان تماس تلفنی زندان اوین با دنیای بیرون، نگرانی های خانواده های این زندانیان عقیدتی افزایش نسبت به وضعیت آنان یافته است٠

یک خانم فعال حقوق بشر بحرینی خواستار به رسمیت شناختن دیانت بهائی از سوی ممالک عربی است

منامه، بحرین - یک بانوی فعال بحرینی خواستار آنست که دولت دیانت بهائی را به رسمیت شناخته اجازه دهد که بهائیان آزادانه اجتماع و نیایش نمایند۰

عذراء الشافعی که خدماتش مبنی بر اخلاقیات و حقوق اقلیت های مذهبی است اظهار داشت که زمان آن فرارسیده که کشور های عربی و خلیج بهائیان را به رسمیت بشناسند۰

این خانم بیان داشت که «مراجع مسئول باید اجازه صادر نمایند که آنان محل نیایش خود را دایر و اداره نمایند»۰ وی اضافه کرد که: «موضوع بهائیان تابو و واژۀ تحریم شده نیست و جامعه باید آنانرا به عنوان عضو وشریکی از اجتماع بپذیرد۰»۰

این پیام هنگامی بیان شد که بهائیان در نقاط مختلف جهان صد و شصت و پنجمین سالگرد پیدایش دیانت بهائی را جشن میگرفتند۰

الشافعی مدیر بنیاد جوانان خاورمیانه که شبکۀ اسلامی دفاع ازحقوق بهائیان را سرپرستی میکند اظهار داشت که مردم نباید به این جامعه به عنوان ’صهیونیست ها در جامه ای مبدل‘ بنگرند۰ «تنها به خاطر آنکه معابد بهائیان در اسرائیل (حیفا) است نباید به آنان برچسب صهیونیست زد۰ به گواه تاریخ بهائیان احترام فراوانی برای اسلام قائلند در حالیکه کلیمیان به نسبت بهائیان در خاور میانه از حقوق بیشتری بهره مندند»۰

بهائیان تقریبا ً یک درصد از جمعیت بحرین را تشکیل میدهند و دولت دخالتی در گردهمائی ها و برنامه های نیایش آنان نمیکند، اگرچه که بر اساس گزارش ها وزارت دادگستری و امور اسلامی مکررا ً صدور جواز را برای آنان رد کرده اند۰ بر اساس گزارشی به نام آزادی بین المللی ادیان که در سال ۲۰۰۸ توسط وزارت امور خارجۀ امریکا تهیه شده این دولت (بحرین) ازدواج بهائیان را به رسمیت نمیشناسد ولی ازدواج های انجام شده رسمی در سایر ممالک را میپذیرد۰ این گزارش اضافه مینماید که مراجع دولتی چاپ کتابی در مورد دیانت بهائی به قلم یک بحرینی و مباحثات عمومی در مورد آنرا در کشور مجاز دانسته اند۰

این خانم فعال حقوق بشر روشن نمود که بهائیان در این جزیره از خدمات بهداشتی، تحصیل و سایر خدمات، بر خلاف سایر کشورهای عربی مثل مصر و ایران، بهره مندند۰ پروژۀ این خانم با همکاری گروهی از مسلمانان فعال در روابط بین الادیان تأسیس شده که اعتقادشان بر بردباری و همزیستی مسالمت آمیز است۰

ایشان اظهار داشت «آغاز این فعالیت در زمانی که مصر و ایران، در سکوت، بهائیان را به خاطر ایمانشان مورد اذیت و آزار قرار میدادند برای ما چالشی بزرگ بود»۰

دیانت بهائی، علاوه بر سایر تعالیم، وحدت الهی و وحدت ادیان، صلح جهانی، لزوم تعادل بین طبیعت و فنآوری و تساوی حقوق زنان و مردان راتعلیم میدهد۰ این دیانت حضرت بهاءالله را والاترین پیامبر میشناسد که از سوی مسلمانان، که حضرت محمّد را آخرین و برگزیده ترین پیامبر الهی میدانند، این امر ارتداد قلمداد میشود۰

تعداد بهائیان در جهان حدود شش ملیون نفر است که در متجاوز از ۲۰۰ کشور ساکنند۰ بنا بر گزارشی تعداد بهائیان در ایران در حدود سیصد هزار تا سیصدو پنجاه هزارو در مصر حدود دو هزارنفر به عنوان اقلیت مذهبی در کشورهای عربی ثبت شده است۰ دولت کشور همسایه، کویت، که تعداد افراد این جامعه به ۴۰۰ نفر میرسد، بهائیان را بر اساس کتاب آسمانی، قرآن، مورد تأیید قرار نمیدهد و لذا بهائیان نمیتوانند مراکزی برای دعا و نیایش برپا کنند ولی ایشان مجازند که به گونۀ خصوصی و بدون اینکه دولت دخالتی کند به تعالیم مذهبی خود عمل نمایند۰ این شرایط در سایر کشورهای امارات یعنی قطر، اردن و لبنان نیز به همانگونه است۰

خانم الشافعی اظهار داشت که با اِعمال فشارهای بین المللی روی این کشورها، مصر آغاز به صدور کارت های شناسائی برای بهائیان کرده، اقدامی که دولت در گذشته آنرا نادیده میانگاشت۰ مقامات مصری تنها ادیان اسلام، مسیحی و کلیمی را به رسمیت میشناسند۰

خانم الشافعی ادامه داد که بهائیان در گذشته در حاشیۀ اجتماع و بدون دسترسی به خدمات بهداشتی، تحصیل، استخدام، مالکیت منزل و سایر خدمات دولتی بودند۰

این خانم فعال حقوق بشر میگوید «مبارزۀ ما برای تغییراستنباط ها در ممالک عربی و خلیج است که افراد این جامعه را درک کنیم و آنانرا بپذیریم»۰

این خدمات برای خانم الشافعی که از سوی رهبران مذهبی در کشوری غنی از نفت، یعنی عربستان سعودی، و سایر مناطق نکوهش شده اقدام آسانی نبوده۰

وی گفت «آنان به ما ناسزا گفته اظهار میکنند که روانۀ جهنم خواهیم شد۰ خدمات ما برای اصولگرایان به منزلۀ قیام برعلیه تعالیم اسلام است و برخی از رهبران مذهبی روی تارنمای ما پیامهای توهین آمیزگذارده و یا تهدید به مرگ نموده اند۰ منبع و منشأ نیروی من اعضای خانوادۀ من هستند که احساس مرا برای این امر درک نموده مرا پشتیبانی میکنند»۰ طَبَق مخالفین ممکن است آکنده از نفرت باشد اما گروه کوچک ولی در حال رشدی نیز از مسلمانان پیشرفت گرا هست که این هدف را پشتیبانی میکنند۰

این جوان بحرینی بیان داشت «ما تبلیغ نمیکنیم و میخواهیم همۀ اکثریت ها به دفاع از همۀ اقلیت ها به پا خیزند۰ بطور مثال، دفاع و شناخت یک اسرائیلی از حق فلسطینی ها و یا قبول حقوق کرد ها از سوی اعراب به گستردگی دریا ها تأثیر گذار است»۰

بحرین به عنوان مدلی درامر بردباری مذهبی در منطقه دیده میشود۰ سال گذشته زمام داران این کشور هدی نونو را که فردی کلیمی است به سمت سفیر از طرف یک کشور عرب در خلیج در ایالات متحده منصوب نمود۰ این جزیره مرز مشترکی با کشور غنی از نفت عربستان سعودی داشته و پایگاه ناوگان پنجم نیروی دریائی امریکا است۰

The Australian Parliament has called on the government of Iran to release seven imprisoned Baha'i leaders "without delay."

A motion from the House of Representatives expresses "serious concern" that the detained Baha'is have had no access to legal representation and have not been subject to due legal process.

It also expresses concern about charges of "spying, insulting religious sanctities, and propaganda against the Islamic Republic, and that these charges could attract the death penalty."

Finally, the motion calls on Iran to "to respect rights to freedom of religion and the peaceful exercise of freedom of expression and association, in accordance with international human rights conventions."

Six members of Parliament from both major parties spoke in support of the motion, which was approved on 25 May 2009.

I rise tonight to support the seven Baha’is detained in Iran. In Australia, we live in the lucky country. We enjoy freedom of speech, freedom of religion and freedom of belief. We have a healthy democracy and we have legislation that protects these rights.

While we in Australia enjoy these freedoms, as do the citizens of many countries across the globe, those in Iran do not. Seven leading members of the Iranian Baha’i community have been detained since March and May 2008. They have been charged with spying for Israel, insulting religious sanctities and propagandising against the Islamic republic. More recently, I have been advised by the Australian Baha’i community that a new charge appears to have been levelled against the seven—that of spreading corruption on earth...

…The Baha’i detainees have not been subject to due legal process. I understand that they have been waiting for over eight months to be notified of the charges and have been given no access to decent legal representation. The Australian government is concerned that these charges are part of a pattern of official discrimination against members of the Baha’i faith in Iran…

It is an honour to speak on this motion tonight as the member for Cowan and represent the Wanneroo Baha’i community within my electorate. On 25 February this year I spoke in the House regarding this very issue, being the persecution of the practitioners of the Baha’i faith and other religious minorities by the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran. On that occasion I spoke specifically about the Baha’is and the struggles they face in their homeland. In particular this matter is about the imprisonment of the seven main Baha’i leaders in Iran. Those leaders are Mrs Mahvash Sabet, Mrs Fariba Kamalabadi, Mr Jamaloddin Khanjani, Mr Afif Naemi, Mr Saeid Rezaie, Mr Behrouz Tavakkoli and Mr Vahid Tizfahm.

On 14 May, just a week ago, the seven Baha’i leaders in Iran had spent a full year in detention. I would like to be able to say that there has been some progress since I last spoke on this issue, but the cause of justice in Iran has only gone backwards in the last few months. It has recently been publicised that the Baha’i seven may face another charge, that of spreading corruption on earth, which is in addition to the other charges reportedly laid. It is my firm view that all these charges have no validity and remain inconsistent with the teachings of the Baha’i faith. I would now like to turn my attention to the latest charge of ‘spreading corruption in the world’. This was apparently the charge by which the Iranian government after the 1979 revolution executed many Baha’is. No doubt it is a thin veil for the intent to eliminate dissent in Iran. It is a trumped-up, catch-all excuse with a single purpose, and that is for an illegitimate and paranoid regime to maintain control over an increasingly sceptical general population…

I rise today to speak in support of this motion and I do so because it is such an important motion and because seven Iranian Baha’i leaders have been jailed in Iran for a year.

Firstly, there were no formal charges for eight months. After eight months they were charged with trumped-up charges of espionage, insulting religious sanctities and propaganda against the Islamic republic. The detainees have not been given any access to legal representation and have not been subject to due legal process. They are facing charges that could attract the death penalty.

The Australian government is deeply concerned about the situation of the seven members—five men and two women—of the Baha’i community. The Australian government is concerned that these charges constitute official discrimination in Iran against members of the Baha’i faith. On 17 April the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Stephen Smith, conveyed the Australian government’s serious concerns directly to the Iranian foreign minister.

Over the past year the Australian government has regularly raised its concerns about the seven Baha’i detainees with the Iranian authorities and will continue to do so. At the very least, Iran should ensure that any trial is fair, transparent and meets international standards.

The government has also raised the issue at relevant international meetings, including the June session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva. Australia also co-sponsored a resolution on the human rights situation in Iran at the 63rd UN General Assembly in 2008, which expressed the international community’s strong concern about the current situation of the Baha’is in Iran.

This is an important motion which, above all else, deals with religious freedom and the prevention of persecution, particularly on religious grounds. From my own reading and also from representations made to me over time in my electorate, I have found people who practice the Baha’i faith to be people of peace and good will. I find it ridiculous to suggest that, in a place like Iran, they would want to be spies.
One might further ask just what that spying would achieve. There has been another case in Iran recently involving a woman broadcaster. She was suddenly dragged into a secret court, found guilty of spying and incarcerated.

When the international community protested as to the injustice of these arrangements, the woman was taken back to court and a plea bargain was arranged. The result was not an eight-year term of incarceration but a two-year suspended sentence. That is like a nothing.

I rise today to support the motion urging Iran to respect the human rights of its Baha’i community. I acknowledge the members of the Baha’i community in the gallery today who are part of the Australian Baha’i community, which has flourished here since 1920. The world watches with increasing apprehension at the deterioration of religious freedom in Iran. The religious fanaticism of the Iranian regime has led to the execution of untold numbers of journalists, writers, trade unionists, gays and lesbians and other minority groups. Not least among these are the Baha’i, whose progressive traditions, such as the equality of women, do not sit well with authoritarian theocracy.

The Baha’i emphasise the spiritual unity of all humankind and speak the common language of human rights. In modern Iran, to be a member of the Baha’i faith or any other minority is to live with the fear of state sanctioned abuse hanging over your family and your community. The arrest of the seven Baha’i leaders in May 2008, which this motion refers to with serious concern, is just one example of this. The lawyer for the seven Baha’i leaders, Nobel laureate Shirin Ebadi, has been refused access to their case files and has been personally intimidated since taking on their case. These arrests are only one matter in a long catalogue of oppression and mistreatment stretching back many years. In 1980, all nine members of the National Spiritual Assembly of Baha’i in Iran were abducted and are presumed dead. In 1983, 10 Baha’i women were hanged for the innocuous act of teaching religious classes to Baha’i youth. The youngest teacher, Mona Mahmudizhad, was 17 years old.

The ugly character of the current Iranian regime has been greeted with horror by many Iranians overseas. A petition by over 500 actors, writers, journalists and artists and other Iranian expatriates living around the world has apologised to the Baha’i community, expressing their dismay that the once great nation of Iran has deteriorated to this.

As you will be aware, Madam Deputy Speaker Vale, I was not scheduled to speak in this debate but I heard a few moments ago that there was a vacancy, so I am very pleased to be able to take this opportunity to support the motion put forward by my colleague the member for Leichhardt in respect of the circumstances that the Baha’i community find themselves in in Iran at the moment. I must apologise to Erica Cole, the secretary of the local spiritual assembly at home in Longman, as I had indicated to her that I was not going to have an opportunity to speak, so perhaps she will not be glued to the radio or the television to hear the contribution I am about to make. I welcome the members of the Baha’i community who are here today to listen to us support them in what are very troubling times for them. As my colleague has just said, a number of the people in prison, particularly the seven Baha’i that we are concerned about, have relations in Australia. It is important that we as Australians support our fellow Australians of the Baha’i faith.

These folk have been imprisoned for 12 months, essentially without charge. There have been charges levelled but no charges made—a circumstance that we just would not tolerate in our own country. I am not particularly interested in trying to force our standards onto the entire world, but in any part of the civilised world this would be intolerable. I think we have in Iran a country on the cusp, a country that ought to be doing more to look after its community, because it does want to be, I understand, a player in the world situation. Essentially what it is doing is marginalising itself as a country. We have seen other countries come from this situation in the past by recognising the error of their ways. I would hope that the error of Iran’s way in relation to the treatment of the Baha’i’s, not just in 2008 but for many years previously, is something that they will change.

This is her daughter's account of her feelings about her mother's imprisonment after ONE year. The Islamic Republic Government of Iran continues to persecute the Baha'is for no reason other than carrying the love of Baha'u'llah and humanity in their heart.

امروز یک سال می‌شه که پیشم نیستی‌ و حالا من اومدم که یک سال درد و رنج رو بیان کنم، یک سال حرفای ناگفته، یک سال تنهایی‌، یک سال دوری از مادر!٠

پارسال همین روز بود که با زنگ تلفن از خواب بیدار شدم، تلفنی که بهم خبر داد که مأمورین اطلاعات توی خونتون هستن. تا بیام به خودم بجنبم و بفهمم که چیکار باید بکنم اس‌ام‌اس ترانه رسید: "مامان رو دارن میبرن، اگه می‌خوای ببینیش زود بیا!" آه که چه بر من گذشت! بعد از گذشت یک سال هنوز یادآوریش قلبم رو به درد میاره و اشکم سرازیر می‌شه٠

سراسیمه به طرف خونتون راه افتادم، تمام راه نگرانیم این بود که نکنه دیر برسم و تو رو برده باشن! اونوقت دیگه کِی‌ می‌تونم ببینمت؟٠

رسیدیم، دیوانه وار پله ها رو دو تا یکی‌ طی‌ کردم و وارد شدم. خدا رو شکر که هنوز بودی. مدتی‌ پیشت بودم و بعد... داشتی میرفتی. با تمام وجود بغلت کردم، فشارت دادم، بوسیدمت و بهت گفتم که چقدر بهت افتخار می‌کنم. و تو رفتی‌... برای مدت نا معلوم! میدونستم حالا حالاها نمیای خونه ولی‌ کِی‌ فکرشو می‌کردم که یک سال طول بکشه؟!!٠

تو رفتی‌ و من تنها شدم... با یک کوه درد و رنج! منی‌ که این همه بهت وابسته بودم، منی‌ که برای کوچکترین تصمیمی به مشورت با تو نیاز داشتم! کی‌ میدونه توی این مدت بر من چی‌ گذشت؟! حتی الان خودم هم از یادآوری درد و رنجی‌ که کشیدم پشتم میلرزه٠

منی‌ که هر روز ولو ۱ دقیقه باهات صحبت می‌کردم ۸۰ روز تمام کوچکترین ارتباطی‌ باهات نداشتم. و وقتی‌ بعد از ۸۰ روز بهم زنگ زدی و من صدات رو نشناختم چقدر از خودم خجالت کشیدم! کلماتت کاملاً یادمه که گفتی‌: " مادر جان منو نشناختی؟" و من لبریز از شادی، غم، هیجان و صد‌ها احساس ضد و نقیض دیگه صدام از گلوم در نمی اومد٠

خدایا توی این یک سال بر من چه گذشت! وقتی‌ روز مادر همه راجع به کادویی که برای مامانشون خریده بودن حرف میزدن من به زور بغضم رو قورت دادم تا محکم باشم! همونجور که تو می‌خوای و تو هستی‌! ٠

وقتی‌ روز تولدت نتونستم بهت کادو بدم دلم رو با یاد تو خوش کردم٠

وقتی‌ که در نبود تو و به خاطر نبود تو بدترین روز زندگیم رو تجربه کردم، روزی که احساس کردم قلبم مچاله شده، راه افتادم تنهایی‌ قدم زدم و گریه کردم و بهت اس‌ام‌اس دادم، اس ام اسی که میدونستم هیچ وقت به دستت نمیرسه: "مادر بی‌ تو تنها و غریبم." ٠

آه که بر من چه گذشت! وقتی‌ که توی این یک سال با بدترین مشکلات مواجه شدم و تو نبودی که کمکم کنی‌. وقتی‌ که با دیدن هر کدوم از وسائلت و با یادآوری اینکه یک روزی تو این رو استفاده میکردی آه از نهادم بلند می شد! ٠

چه گذشت بر من روزی که دیدم اونقدر لاغر شدی، لاغر و ضعیف! و وقتی‌ دستت رو گرفتم توی دستم دیدم که از شدت ضعف میلرزه. چه تلاشی کردم تا تونستم جلوی خودم رو بگیرم و جلوی تو گریه نکنم٠

بر من چه گذشت روزی که آخر ملاقات، از پشت کابین، وقتی‌ پرده رو پائین می کشیدن سرت رو خم کردی که تا آخرین لحظه ما رو ببینی‌ و برامون دست تکون بدی و لبخند بزنی‌. خدایا چقدر این فکر که شاید این آخرین تصویر در ذهن من از تو باشه من رو زجر داد٠

وقتی‌ روز تولدم بهم جورابی رو که از توی زندان خریده بودی- بهترین چیزی که اونجا می شد خرید- کادو دادی چقدر خوشحال و در این حال ناراحت شدم. چقدر محکم بغلش کردم و بوسیدمش و تصمیم گرفتم هیچوقت ازش استفاده نکنم. اون روز دائماً به یاد تولد پارسالم می افتادم که با وجود کمر دردی که داشتی برام تولد گرفته بودی، و قلبم با این فکر‌ها به درد می اومد٠

چقدر دیدن سبزه‌ای که به ترانه کادو داده بودی خوشحالم میکرد. اون برام شده بود نماد تو. تنها که میشدم میرفتم بغلش می‌کردم، باهاش حرف میزدم، نوازشش می‌کردم، میبوسیدمش و احساس می‌کردم این تویی که روبروی منی‌. و چطور غم و درد تمام وجودم رو فرا گرفت وقتی‌ دیدم اون سبزه داره پلاسیده می‌شه، و سراسیمه با یک روبان سبز شاخه هاش رو به هم بستم بلکه دوباره قوت بگیره، انگار که داشتم از تو مواظبت می‌کردم٠

چه روزی بود وقتی‌ توی عید رضوان بهم عیدی دادی و من احساس می‌کردم دنیا رو بهم دادن و با نهایت غرور عیدیم رو به دوستام نشون میدادم٠

چه شبی‌ بود اون شبی‌ که خوابم نمی برد و ایمیل‌هایی‌ که قبلاً برام فرستاده بودی رو می‌خوندم و اشک می‌ریختم و چقدر دلم می‌خواست که دوباره یک ایمیل ازت دریافت کنم٠

همهٔ اینها و صد‌ها روز دیگه با خاطرات ریز و درشت و خوب و بد دیگه گذشت و خدا میدونه که توی این یک سال حتی یک بار هم نخواستم که اگه ارادهٔ او نیست برگردی خونه و همیشه این شعر رو زیر لب زمزمه کردم: ٠

من درد تو را ز دست آسان ندهم
دل بر نکنم ز دوست تا جان ندهم

از دوست به یادگار دردی دارم
کان درد به صد هزار درمان ندهم

این چیزی بود که توی این یک سال بر من گذشت، خدا میدونه بر تو چی‌ گذشت...!!! ٠
