Bahman 3, 1250 : Murder of Siyyid Muhammad

Murder of Siyyid Muhammad (the one who had constantly manipulated Mirza Yahya into his cowardly acts), Aqa Jan Big and another companion Covenant-breaker in Akka in retaliation for their persecutions. Baha'u'llah had forbidden any act of retaliation, but seven of His tormented companions succumbed. An army of men descended upon the Baha'is. The seven guilty men were confined for several years. The remainder were confined for six months. The distress caused to Baha'u'llah of this event was immeasurable: "That which can make Me ashamed is the conduct of such of My followers as profess to love Me"

Ibrahim Kheiralla settled in Chicago. His teaching work in the next few months lead to the founding of the first Bahai community in the Americas. Ibrahim George Kheiralla (1849 - 1929), the first Bahai in America. He was born at Mount Lebanon in Syria and educated at Beirut University. In Cairo he learned about the Bahai faith and accepted it. In 1892 he immigrated to New York and in 1894 settled in Chicago.

The first House of Worship was built in Russia, in the city of Ashkhabad in Central Asia. The Baha'i House of Worship in Ashkhabad, Soviet Union, Completed around 1908 and was confescated durring a wave of crackdowns on Baha'is. It was later turned into an art gallery, heavily damaged in a1948 earthquake and demolished in 1963.

Hasan Balyuzi was born on September 7, 1908 to Mirza Ali Aqa and Munavvar Khanum in Shiraz, Iran. He passed away in his sleep on February 12, 1980. His earthly remains were laid to rest near those of his beloved Guardian.
