I am giving a talk in Belgium bout "Overcoming Limiting Beliefs" and this quote is a good one to include, along with the following:

Einstein said, “We box ourselves in by the boundaries of our own thinking.”

King Melchizedek of Salem in ‘The Alchemist’ by Paolo Coelho said,

“ Everyone, when they are young, knows what their destiny is. At some point in their lives, everything is clear and everything is possible. They are not afraid to dream, and to yearn for everything they would like to see happen to them in their lives. But, as time passes, a mysterious force begins to convince them that it will be impossible for them to realize their destiny.”

“If you argue for your limitations, they will surely become yours”.

Maxwell Maltz said, “Of all the traps and pitfalls in life, self disesteem is the deadliest and the hardest to overcome, for it is a pit designed and dug by ourselves, summed up in the phrase“It’s no use – I can’t do it”.

The following speech was credited to Nelson Mandela but was actually written by Marianne Williamson:

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

Antonia Harrison
Personal Development Speaker & Trainer

Are You for Real? - By Cindy Loughran

What is authenticity and why is it important to leadership?

Leadership isn't something we do in response to our circumstances. It's a way of being. You don't DO leadership. You ARE a leader. Leadership comes from within. It is an ongoing and consistent expression of who we are that inspires others to action. Authentic leaders know themselves and their purpose; they use that knowledge as their internal compass. When we align our actions with our sense of purpose, we act authentically; we take a stand, living centered, calm, powerful lives. We are in control of our feelings and emotions, rather than letting them control us.

Authenticity is about having personal integrity, being genuine, and acting in a way that is true to yourself and your beliefs, no matter what. It's about NOT putting up a facade, NOT being aloof or inaccessible.

Our sense of another's authenticity has an enormous impact on whether or not we trust them, how comfortable we are with them, and how willing we are to follow them. Authenticity, then, is critical to effective leadership.

Doing vs. being
Some corporate executives are motivated primarily by money, earning six- and seven-figure incomes. Others are motivated by "the game", by winning, and besting others who may be competing for limited corporate resources needed to implement their plans. Typically, these executives reach a place where they burn out, or become increasingly dissatisfied by their day-to-day routines. As a result, their teams suffer and are not as productive, or effective, as they could be.

The best leaders are guided by a deeper purpose - to create a product or service, for example, that delights their customers, or leaves a mark on the world in some way that is meaningful to them. When authentic leaders do this well, they can sustain success and the seven-figure income, along with a genuine feeling of accomplishment, of having made a significant contribution.

When we clarify our true purpose, we come to understand what gives meaning to the things we do. Our purpose gives us guidance on how to do things. For example, my purpose is to live powerfully, contribute to the creation of powerful lives, and connect communities of people. I've chosen to do this through my career as a Leadership Development Specialist and Executive Coach. My purpose doesn't dictate my profession or what I do. I could live purposefully in many others roles: I could have chosen to teach or to be a leader in a corporate setting. My purpose guides how I do what I've chosen to do. And it shows up outside of work, also, in how I contribute in my community, behave in my family, and so on. It is my internal compass.

When I start playing small (holding back and not being powerful), or when I'm being stingy with my time and talents, I can feel it in my body. I feel uncentered, uncomfortable, and unfulfilled. I'm at my best when I am being myself, connecting members of my various networks, and inspiring and supporting others to be their best. It's from this place of purpose that I do my best work.

Of course, living on purpose means that you may not 'fit' or be successful or happy in every setting. But that's OK. You will be most successful and make the greatest contribution in the place where you can be your fully genuine, purposeful, authentic, wonderful self.

So, how do you become an authentic leader?

1. Know the leader you want to be. Clarify your purpose. Create a vision for yourself as an authentic leader. Identify your deepest values. Think about leaders you admire. What is it about them you want to emulate? What is the legacy you want to leave? Picture how it looks and feels to be being the best, most authentic leader you can be.

2. Know your strengths and weaknesses. Especially in this fast paced, global, technological world, we can't be experts in everything. Nor do we necessarily want or have time to be. Be honest about what you can do well and enjoy doing and what is best left to others.

3. Identify the gaps between your vision and current reality. Determine which gaps you want to close by learning and growing your own expertise and which ones you want to fill with the talents of others.

4. Identify sources and opportunities for development. Pursue them with a beginner's mind. Enjoy the learning process.

5. When making decisions or engaged in discussions, ask yourself, "What does my authentic self tell me to do?" Even if it is a difficult decision, check in with yourself and ask, "How can I make and communicate it in a way that is an expression of my purpose and in integrity with my values?"

6. As you begin to use newly learned behaviors, be generous and forgiving with yourself. The leader who can forgive him/herself can forgive others.

7. Create visual cues to remind yourself to be your newly discovered real self when self-doubt begins to creep in. Post-it notes, special screen savers, mantras, a rubber band around your wrist, or New Leaf Touchstone bracelets or pocket stones can help.

About the Author:
Cindy Loughran is a certified professional coach and the founder and president of New Leaf Touchstone. Looks like a recurring theme to me.

If life is a journey then it seems to me that we should always be moving forward along the path. However some people try to become perfect in what they want to do first before starting out. That's like wanting to be a world-class figure skater and not entering the local competitions. That reticent can hold us back, and as we all know practise makes perfect. The perfectionists amongst us want to ensure that we have everything covered before stepping outside of our comfort zone. But it is outside the comfort zone that we all flourish. In fact if we never step outside that comfort zone we never learn, or improve.

Sometimes this entails a chunk of self-honesty – being real with ourselves. On page 68 of my book Remembering Perfection I tell a story about a client who had to own up to his hesitancy about stepping out of his comfort zone and getting his business going. Even his practise clients were not turning up for the session, mirroring back to him his own reticence. As we worked together he began to see that he was holding back from starting, that he was avoiding getting going because of his fear to step into a new space in his life; if he could just get better at this bit then he could get going.

That need for everything to be perfect is a protection for our heart, it can be challenging to put ourselves out there on the line but when you do it and you grow and learn you are one step closer to doing it even better. How good does that feel?!

As I was thinking about this I was reminded that I have been giving presentations for a few years now and the presentations I give now are miles better than when I started. Does that make the first ones I did wrong or bad? No, people enjoyed them, got what they came for and I learnt each time I stepped up and spoke. Just think how much experience I would have missed had I insisted that I be perfect before I started.

Is there something in your life that you are holding back from? Something that you are telling yourself; just one more book to read, just one more course to take, just one more piece of understanding or knowledge before I get going with what I truly want to do? Would now be a good time to stop doing that? If you want some support why don't you drop me a line and we can have a chat about it. Life is a journey, step by step by step.

Source: Jessica McGregor Johnson

Revolution in Lifelong Learning

If you could do anything in the world and knew without a doubt that you would succeed, what would you do?

If you can answer this question, then you know what your real passion is. Passion, vision, clear goals and an action plan will get you anywhere you want to be and beyond. Do not settle for the second best because it is convenient or comfortable. If you do that, you might always wonder where you could have ended up if you really did go for your dreams.

"A funny thing about life. If you refuse to accept anything but the best, you often get it!" W. Somerset Maugham

To become the best you can be and to stay on top requires learning. Learning from others and learning from yourself - your own mistakes and achievements.

In today's world, if you don't learn, you actually stay behind.

Why? Because there is a great socio-cultural revolution that is sweeping our world today. There is a revolution that is changing the way we live, communicate, think and prosper. A revolution, that will determine how, and if, grown-ups as well as children will work, earn a living and enjoy life to the fullest.

To stay ahead, we need a parallel revolution in lifelong learning to match the information revolution - one that can help each of us learn anything much faster and better and get us to where we want to go.

Without the ability to learn effectively, it is easy to become overwhelmed by the changes taking place and the amount of information we must assimilate each day. The goal of education now should be to "help people be capable of new things, not simply repeat what other generations have done - people who are creative, inventive and discoverers" - Jean Piaget

"The only truly educated person is the one who has learned how to learn." Carl Rogers

"The illiterate of the year 2000 will not be the individual who cannot read and write but the one who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn."- Alvin Toffler

So now you know, you can't get away, learning is a part of our life for the rest of our life.

How do you feel about it?
If you feel exited and confident in your ability to learn, you are lucky. If, like many others, you had wished you never read the above paragraph, then the next crucial step for you to make is to forget everything you've ever thought about education. If school was a bore, forget it. If you dropped out early, forget that too. If you lack confidence as a learner because you've had bad experiences, don't worry about it because the fact is you are not stuck with those feelings.

There are many ways to create confidence and make learning your passion. Here are some examples to show you that your inborn genius can come out at any age.

· Walt Disney was fired by a newspaper editor because he lacked "good creative ideas.
· Beethoven's music teacher told him he was "hopeless as a composer.
· French postimpressionist painter, who helped form the basis of modern art, Paul Gauguin, only tried painting because he failed as a stockbroker.
· Rodgers and Hammerstein's first collaboration was so disastrous that they didn't work again for years. (They both created a lot of outstanding musical productions).

"Your past is not your potential." Marilyn Ferguson

How you perceive learning and how you feel about it is extremely important if you want to be successful and enjoy the process.

"All our knowledge has its origins in our perceptions." Leonardo da Vinci

If you think you should learn something but don't feel good about it, you will look for lots of excuses (such as not having enough time) and, at the end, not do it.

When people say they don't have time for something (for example, studying or exercising) it is simply because they are choosing to do other things that they consider more important or that motivate them more.

If you are motivated to learn and have a clear vision about future success, it will be easy for you to choose study over a more immediate pleasure. So, the next question is:
- How to get motivated and create a positive state of mind whenever we want to?

It is important to decide how you would personally benefit from learning something. Someone once said, that we all listen to Radio Station WII-FM. It stands for "What's In It For Me."

In 1897 Arnold Bennett said, "There can be no knowledge without emotion. We may be aware of a truth, yet until we have felt its force, it is not ours. To the cognition of the brain must be added the experience of the soul."

To be effective learners we must:

1. Perceive information.
2. Reflect on how it will impact some aspect of our life.
3. Compare how it fits into our own experiences.
4. Think about how this information offers new ways for us to act.

You need to realize that learning requires not just seeing, hearing, moving, or touching, but also integration of our senses and thoughts with our feeling and actions.

Understanding your feelings, how they are formed and how you can choose to change them is a great skill to have and one of the main factors towards a positive attitude to learning!

We all have an inner voice - the running commentary in our heads that accompanies our action. This inner voice and what it says is actually very important because it programs your subconscious to feel a certain way. You can increase your chance of success in whatever you do by thinking and saying really positive things about yourself - statements that express what you choose to become.

Some people call these statements affirmations. The affirmation doesn't need to be true for you yet - the time to use affirmations is when you are trying to achieve something. An example of an affirmation would be "I am a confident learner!" or "I love learning!"

Using affirmations helps you program your subconscious the way you want it. By repeating them, the subconscious does come to believe in what you are saying and it looks for ways to make your actions match its beliefs.

To learn effectively, you need to concentrate. To be able to concentrate is to be able to direct your energy. If you are tired, tense, or distracted, it is very difficult to do. Also, fear, anxiety, and anger are emotional factors that negatively impact learning. On a physical level, stress can even cause cell assemblies to fire in unorganized patterns and ultimately inhibit transfer and retrieval.

Being able to relax and calm yourself is the next important step in making learning successful.

Before each learning session take a few minutes to relax. Use your favorite way to do it. Deep breathing, neck exercises and an upright spine all allow blood, oxygen and energy to pass freely between body and brain. And remember to replace any negative thoughts with your own affirmations.

The next crucial factor in becoming a successful learner is having clear goals.

There are many reasons why it is important to have clear goals and to know what you want as well as how and where to get it. As Colin Rose puts it, "There is no point in being the most efficient oil rig team in history if you're drilling in the wrong place!"

"In moving towards a desired destination, it is vital to know where you are now." - Peter Senge

The first thing to do when creating your goals is to decide where you are now. It will make it clear for you what "ingredients" are missing. Once that is done, create a vision of what you want to achieve. Ask yourself "Where do I want to be?"

Write your goal down. It is important to write down a goal because you have to think it through more clearly. Also, it will make it more real and more concrete.

Now, close your eyes and see yourself as if you already achieved it - What do you look like? What do you feel like? Who is there to congratulate you?
"A vision gives meaning and purpose to your actions. It is the picture on the jigsaw box of life." -Colin Rose.

If you think you can't visualize, here is the proof that everyone can do it. Worrying is a process where you picture something unpleasant and feel like it had already happened. If you can worry, you can visualize. Here is another one: How many windows are in your kitchen? If you know - you can visualize.

When you have a vision and a goal that feels real to you, you are also more motivated. Having a firm belief that you can achieve that vision, gives you purpose and, if you have a purpose, you create determination and willpower.

Let's say by now you have your clear goals and you're motivated and anxious to learn. The next question would be:
- What is learning and what is the best way to learn?

Learning can be defined as the act, process, or experience of gaining knowledge or skills. It strengthens the brain by building new pathways and increasing connections that we can rely on when we want to learn more.

Since we use our brain to learn, it makes sense to examine how the brain works.

Did you know that, according to Pr. Robert Ornstein (author of Amazing Brain), "The possible number of connections in the human brain is probably bigger that the number of atoms in the universe! With approximately twenty-five billion transactions per second, the brain is more advanced than any computer humans are likely to devise. It has about 100 billion brain cells - 20 times the entire population of the world!"

Sounds impressive, but here is an interesting fact. Brain scientists have discovered that it isn't really the number of brain cells you have that determines how useful your brain is or how intelligent you are, but the connection you make between those brain cells!

Every time new information enters you brain, new connections are made. The more we use our brains, the more stimulation we give it, the more intelligent we become. So, the big news is - intelligence is not fixed.

"Geniuses are more made than born." - Colin Rose

Einstein wasn't a very good student in school and even failed maths initially. Now, his brain lies in a glass jar in a university. It's no bigger than average, but researchers say that it shows evidence of very rich connections between the brain cells.

You can develop your own intelligence.

The more you use your brain, at any age, the better it gets. It thrives on novelty and only declines with lack of stimulation.

But what is intelligence?

Dr. Howard Gardner has defined intelligence as "the ability to create useful products and solve everyday problems." He also points out that we have not just one intelligence - but eight.

1. Linguistic - the ability to write or talk well.
2. Mathematical/Logical - the ability to deal well with numbers and to think logically.
3. Visual/Spatial - the ability to visualize how things will eventually look.
4. Musical - the ability to create and interpret music.
5. Bodily/Physical - the ability to move well, run, dance, build and construct.
6. Inter-personal - the ability to communicate well and get along with others.
7. Intra-personal - the ability for quiet, objective self-analysis, understanding your own feelings and behavior.
8. Naturalist – the ability to observe, understand and organize patterns or elements in a natural environment.

All eight intelligences are of equal value. Although academic success which measures two of the intelligences (linguistic and mathematical/logical), is one way to demonstrate intelligence, in the real world, it is far from the only one. Learning is a lot more effective when you explore the subject through all eight intelligences.

To learn easier and faster it makes sense to work with the brain's own memory-methods.

The usual way of taking notes or writing words column by column doesn't do anything for the brain because brain works in a very different way. It stores information by pattern and association.

Mind maps or learning maps are a great tool to assist your brain.

The essential rule in making learning maps is only to use key words, which will remind you of the whole idea. You start with putting a topic in the center of the page. Then you branch off that topic the main ideas. From each of those ideas you branch of to put more related information. It looks like a tree with branches and it also looks like the connections of our brain cells.

You can use different colors for related ideas. You can also use pictures or symbols instead of key words. According to Colin Rose, "a learning map is a tool to turn ideas and facts into an easily remembered visual pattern of words. You can jump around from one idea cluster to another and literally see the connection between ideas. It is also a tool to allow you to create a logical order for those ideas."

Learning maps can be very useful in organizing and summarizing reading material as well as planning speeches, presentations, reports, or papers.

There is no learning without memory.

Memory is knowledge. Memory is the stepping stone to thinking, because without remembering facts, you cannot think, conceptualize, reason, make decisions, create, or contribute.

The secret of a good or incredible memory is original awareness. When someone says he forgot something, it usually means he never remembered it in the first place because if something has registered in your mind or moved from short-term memory to long-term, it is easy to recall and almost impossible to forget.

So, original awareness is actually forcing information to register in your mind or memory. There are a lot of techniques and even rules for training your memory to do that and they are well worth learning. Here are some of them.

One of the rules is that in order for you to remember any new thing, you must associate it with something you already know or remember. You already do it subconsciously, as when you hear or see something that makes you say, "That reminds me!" The goal is to do it consciously and purposely.

Colin Rose developed a model that shows how memory works. Using this model insures that what we learn gets registered and makes an impression in our memory and it makes it easier to recall.

The model shows that new facts go first into our short-term memory. It is essential to review the information in order to register it and to move it to long-term memory. If not reviewed, it is forgotten! Once the information is in long-term memory it is retained there for recall when needed.

Research indicates that if we want to transfer something from short-term memory to long-term memory, we should think about it, relate it to other things we know, question it, and transform it into our own words.

An extra word on review.

Studies show that time spent reviewing can double the recall and even improve it four-times. If you don't review, the information that you constantly putting in is lost. That makes learning difficult because there will be less data in the brain on which to hook, or associate the next lot of new information.

Spending a little time to register something properly at the beginning saves a huge amount of time later. According to Colin Rose, the best schedule for reviewing is after one hour, the next day, the next week, the next month, and, finally, after 6 months.

A learning map is a great tool for review because all the information is organized on one page with the key words that will remind you of all the essential information at a glance.

To keep the recall of the learned material high, try to have lots of beginnings and endings to the learning session because high concentration lasts for about 20 minutes. So taking frequent breaks in between will drastically improve understanding and recall of the information.

Researchers have also found that we have separate memories for sounds, sights and feelings. Which is why it makes sense not just to read something, but repeat it out loud and, if practical, find a way to associate it with a physical movement.

"If you tell me, I will listen. If you show me, I will see. If you let me experience, I will learn." Lao Tzu, 6th Century BC

While we may each perceive information through different senses, we ultimately learn by doing. Taking notes from a talk is a good example because you involve your memory for sight (the notes), sound (the talk) and movement (writing). Another example is the way you would learn a foreign word: you would read it, speak it out loud and act it in an exaggerated way (or make a silly visualization of it).

To remember more from any learning situation, do the following:
· relax;
· make a firm intention to remember;
· create "original awareness";
· use techniques to transfer information from short-term memory into long-term;
· take regular breaks;
· review the material.

At the end, ask yourself these two questions:

- What went well?
- What could have gone better?

"If you build up a habit of thinking through how things have gone, you will truly be in control of your own life." Colin Rose

Learning can and should be a lifelong process.

Unfortunately, many adults deny themselves what should be one of the most enriching parts of life because they assume that they can’t learn.

Fortunately, we now know that we can learn from everything the mind perceives and at any age. Dr. Benjamin Bloom, who spent a lifetime studying excellence, has concluded that “anyone can learn anything - the only difference is that some take more time than others.”

Our brains build and strengthen neural pathways no matter where we are, no matter what the subject or the context. When it comes to learning, it is important to try different techniques and choose what suits you best. As long as you are trying and improving, you don't fail.

"I observed that nine out of ten things I did were failures. I didn't want to be a failure so I did ten times more work." George Bernard Shaw

And remember, only one creature ever sat down to succeed - a chicken!

At the end of the day, the more knowledge we gain about learning styles and techniques, the more there is left to discover. If after reading this article you have more questions about learning than you did before you started reading - great! As George Bernard Shaw says, "I'd rather know some of the questions than all of the answers."

I hope you will get inspired to embark on a lifelong journey of self-discovery and a life of rewarding learning experiences. The words inscribed over the Temple at Delphi read "Know Thyself." This is the greatest challenge in life.

By determining our own unique learning styles, accepting our differences, and even using them to help ourselves and others learn more effectively, we find the wisest approach to learning.

"What lies behind us and what lies in front of us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." Ralph Waldo Emerson

Would you like to learn more about your dominant intelligences, learning styles, your brain and memory?

Then please visit "Discover Your Inborn Genius" e-book by Masha Malka. The result is that people learn to work for money...but never learn to have money work for them."

If you subscribe to receive the occasional information from me by email, I will send you a FREE copy of Rich Dad Poor Dad. Not only are you denying yourself the opportunity to make something of your life, but you are also denying others. You might be keeping your skills from people who could benefit. You might be showing your children a limiting role model, setting them up for a life of mediocrity. Your one idea could make people's lives easier. Your product could be the next "must have" that everyone is talking about, even Oprah! You could be denying your community. You could be preventing others from achieving their potential.

A big idea might only be a small idea that works - millions of times over. Think of cheap products that everyone uses eg a $2 highlighter pen, a potato peeler, Pritt stick.

Or a book that tens of thousands have read? How many have been inspired by the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series?

Now, today, right now, is the time to decide what you want to do, be or achieve and do something concrete to make it happen.

TAKE ACTION
Taking action is the real key ingredient to any success. Make up your mind that under no circumstances will continue to live the life you currently do. Then each day, work as hard as you can on your goals and ideas. Learn everything you can, put it to use and take action.

"My suggestion would be to walk away from the 90% who don't and join the 10% who do."- Jim Rohn

©Antonia Harrison 2009 from Personal Development for the 21st Century

The Difference Between Success and Failure

"The difference between success and failure, is not a man's better abilities or ideas, but the courage he has to act on them."
- Maxwell Maltz

Persistence

“Without bloody-minded determination and persistence you don’t achieve success.” - Mandy Haberman, the inventor of the Anyway Up cup.

Persistence is probably the one trait that you will find in all high achievers. They are like a dog with a bone and won’t let go until they have achieved the outcome that they decided upon. No matter how difficult it seems, the longer you persist, the more likely your success.

“The most essential factor is persistence - the determination never to allow your energy or enthusiasm to be dampened by the discouragement that must inevitably come.”

James Whitcomb Riley

Sometimes you are going to face obstacles, both predicted and unforeseen, in your business or personal life that are going to stop you in your tracks. And sometimes you’ll wonder why you ever set out on the road that you are on.

Code of Persistence
From “How to turn Failure into Success” -Harold Sherman

1. I will never give up so long as I am right.
2. I will believe that all things will work out for me if I hang on to the end.
3. I will be courageous and undismayed in the face of poor odds.
4. I will not permit anyone to intimidate or deter me from my goals.
5. I will fight to overcome all physical handicaps and setbacks.
6. I will try again and again and yet again to accomplish what I desire.
7. I will take new faith and resolution from the knowledge that all successful men and women have had to fight defeat and adversity.
8. I will never surrender to discouragement or despair no matter what seeming obstacles may confront me.

“When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hang on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.”
- Harriett Beecher Stowe

“Persistence isn’t using the same tactics over and over. That’s just annoying. Persistence is having the same goal over and over.”
- Seth Godin

20 Things Oprah Knows For Sure

Every month Oprah Winfrey writes down one thing she knows for sure. Here is her top 20. I wanted to share them on my blog because they speak to me and I am sure will resonate with others, so, Oprah, thank you for this list.

1. What you put out comes back all the time, no matter what. (This is my creed.)

2. You define your own life. Don't let other people write your script.

3. Whatever someone did to you in the past has no power over the present. Only you give it power.

4. When people show you who they are, believe them the first time. (A lesson from Maya Angelou.)

5. Worrying is wasted time. Use the same energy for doing something about whatever worries you.

6. What you believe has more power than what you dream or wish or hope for. You become what you believe.

7. If the only prayer you ever say is thank you, that will be enough. (From the German theologian and humanist Meister Eckhart.)

8. The happiness you feel is in direct proportion to the love you give.

9. Failure is a signpost to turn you in another direction.

10. If you make a choice that goes against what everyone else thinks, the world will not fall apart.

11. Trust your instincts. Intuition doesn't lie.

12. Love yourself and then learn to extend that love to others in every encounter.

13. Let passion drive your profession.

14. Find a way to get paid for doing what you love. Then every paycheck will be a bonus.

15. Love doesn't hurt. It feels really good.

16. Every day brings a chance to start over.

17. Being a mother is the hardest job on earth. Women everywhere must declare it so.

18. Doubt means don't. Don't move. Don't answer. Don't rush forward.

19. When you don't know what to do, get still. The answer will come.

20. "Trouble don't last always." (A line from a Negro spiritual, which calls to mind another favorite: This, too, shall pass.)

Roger Hamilton: Only Eight Ways to Wealth in 2009

With the current economic climate most people are confused on how to progress their business forward in 2009. If you didn’t get a chance to ASK your question, just go here http://www.askleeann.com:80/askmasha/ and do it now.

Some great questions so far:
"Where do you find the self esteem (Love of self) when life has taught you that you are not worth doing things for; only doing for others?
"How do I overcome my fear of prospecting by phone to change it from a dislike into an enjoyable experience?"
"I, and my husband have had soooo many setbacks and things not "go our way" these past two years, that my fear of further set backs is real. I want so much to restore my faith in my ability, because I know how capable I have been in the past. How can I concur this real fear of failure, once and for all, to bring all my dreams to fruition finally? I feel ready in my heart."
"What do you do when you constantly feel overwhelmed with wondering where to start? Is there such a thing as a right place to start or is that just a myth?"
"How do I swallow my fear and move out of my introverted, self-imposed box?"
"What can I do to break through limitations and achieve success? I get started and then serious setbacks occur. It seems to me at the time that they are "just happening" but now I wonder if I'm doing this to myself. How can I tell when I'm sabotaging myself and when I might just not be on the right path?"
"The choice of what shall I do today after I drop the kids off at school… I was procrastinating far too much and feeling guilty about not catching up with friends or reading enough. "
"I have three roads in which I must choose to further my growth. All three I am very passionate about. All three will be done in my lifetime. I just can't decide which road to take first. I've made my lists, pros and cons each are equally important to my growth and my life. How can I further my decision?"
"How can I do what I want and still have the finances to live my life? If what it takes is money to make money, how does one make it when they have little? It seems like my energy is sapped at the end of the day, how do I even plan what I really want to do while working full time? If my goals do not match my spouses, how do I gain support and do what I feel I was meant to do?"
"There are so many things I COULD choose to focus on to pursue as a way to make money. How can I narrow it down and really decide?"
"I would like a career change but am unsure as to what I would like to do. I have looked at careers advice etc on the web, but have difficulty deciding what I would most enjoy. What could help me decide?"
"How can I know of what I really want?? How do I manage a change?"
"How can I stay focused on what moves me forward when there is never enough time to do all that still NEEDS to be done?"

Being able to formulate a question is already part of the solution!

Masha Malka, has written an e-book in a series of easy life-changing weekly routines you can carry out at home, at work, or at play. You won't need to go to classes, you won't need expensive CDs or DVDs and even the busiest of people will be able to use this book whenever they have a spare minute - the results can be extraordinary!

"The One Minute Coach is an excellent source of quick, easy-to-read applied wisdom. And it's so well organized that I can always come back to specific sections when needed."

Click here to order Masha Malka's "One Minute Coach"

Full details of Masha Malka's book "The One Minute Coach" at:
http://asjpersonaldevelopment.blogspot.com/2007/11/one-minute-coach-change-your-life-one.html

Visit Personal Development in the 21st Century and The Secret and Law of Attraction .

Don't Try To Do Something

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 135px; height: 135px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_hUob3bwTO2Q/SXC3pfRadXI/AAAAAAAABFQ/hNgHFQ3UDWs/s320/Yoda.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5291931485557388658" /> As Yoda said to Luke (in Star Wars), “Do… or do not. Here is some great advice from Rosie Cottis:

Having an empty inbox feels great and can save you tons of time. Since I did this I'm realising how much time I spent just looking at the titles of all the 'pending' emails in my inbox. Now I don't have that distraction I have a lot more time for making money. It's amazing!

I started at a site called 43 Folders. This is at http://www.43folders.com/izero but there is tons to read there so to save you time, I will reveal how to do this quickly, the way I did.

First, create some new folders in your email inbox. These are in two sections:

(a) Folders for emails requiring action
1-Soonest (urgent, you want to take action today).
2-Later (action required sometime this week or this month).
3-Training (e.g. link to that 55 minute video on Twitter that you want to watch but never seem to find the time).

These 3 should be at the top of your list of folders so include the numbers in the folder names.

(b) Folders for filing (emails you have dealt with, or not requiring action but worth keeping)
- Useful information (e.g. a link to an interesting article that you have read and might want to read again ... if you didn't read the article yet it goes in Training)
- Purchases (emails confirming purchases or containing information about something you purchased, updates for software that you own, etc)
- Wanted (promotions for things you don't need to get right now, but they look good and you might want them sometime)
- Websites (emails from your hosting company or domain registrar containing important information about your sites).

You will also probably want folders for keeping email from certain people, membership sites, or on certain topics.

After you have the folders set up, go through your inbox sorting your emails. Use the unsubscribe button for people you don't want to hear from again. Delete anything that you don't need to keep and sort the others for action or file them. You will need to take a quick look at some of them but don't click any links.

Continue until there is not one single email in your inbox, then take action on the emails in the 'Soonest' folder. Remember this folder was only for things that need action TODAY.

HOW TO KEEP IT EMPTY
Schedule time, two or three times each day, when you deal with email. During that time, look first at your new mail and sort it so that the inbox is empty. Then open up your 'Soonest' folder and deal with them all or as many as you have time for, so that they can be deleted or filed. Then move on to 'Later' or 'Training' - you can pick.

Each email requiring action will be opened a maximum of two times: once to sort it and once to deal with it. Emails not requiring action are read and either deleted or filed immediately.

IT WORKS!
I had about 250 'pending' emails in my inbox when I did this ... and I was already dealing with the urgent ones and filing or deleting everything I could. I now have about 40 in 'Training' and 10 in 'Later'. The rest are filed or gone.

The good news is that the system *does* work. Unlike previous times when I have cleared my inbox, now it is emptied every time I look at my email. Sometimes it's STILL empty when I look at it. It's spooky!

Rosie Cottis offers Packs of quality articles on niche subjects at www.flamillion.com

What Is Good About the Economic Crisis?

Article by Masha Malka.

I found it very interesting that in the last few days most of the people I came across are EXCITED about the economic “crisis”! One of my friends even made a toast to it during the New Year celebration and everyone at the table cheered and agreed.

Those people who are excited about the current economic status in the world as well as their own (even if they are out of work and have $1 to their name), are the people who will have an amazing year, attracting opportunities, money, great relationships and happiness… and if they don’t, they will still be happy and excited about their life!

Why?

Because it is not what happens to us that determines how we feel. How you feel has NOTHING to do with the current economic status or what is going on in your personal life; the way others treat you or what happens to you.

How you feel has to do with how YOU treat yourself – how you interpret what happens to you and the thoughts that you are thinking or a regular basis. YOU are the one who attaches meaning to everything that happens in your life and the world, creating emotions that not only determine how you feel on a regular basis but also manifest experiences into your life again and again and again.

Stop for a second and think about the quality of your life right now. What are you thinking? What are you manifesting?

There are lots and lots of opportunities out there. And it is not just about making more money, it is about making more money doing what you love; feeling great about yourself and what you do; feeling like you make a difference in your life and the life of others.

Action
No matter how negative a particular situation might appear to you, ask yourself, “What is good about it?” “How can I use it to my advantage?” “How does it help me understand who I am and what I want?”

If the circumstances you are in do not make you happy, get clear about what will make you happy and do something every day that will bring you closer to your new reality.

George Bernard Shaw wisely said, “People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can't find them, make them.”

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 104px; height: 162px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_hUob3bwTO2Q/SWcIgdZjy_I/AAAAAAAABAA/dHRWRGPFXiI/s200/One+minute+coach+masha+malka.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5289205641110604786" /> Masha Malka is an International Speaker, Success Strategist and best-selling author of "The One Minute Coach™: Change your life one minute at a time" available from
www.mashamalka.com with 91 free bonuses.

10 Essentials for Success

Publisher and Editorial Director of SUCCESS magazine, Darren Hardy, offers the following advice on how to make 2009 your best year ever:

1. Decide to be Successful – Success is not a dream, hope or fantasy; it is a decision. Make the decision to change, improve and act on your ambitions.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 200px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_hUob3bwTO2Q/SWX10ZAjgeI/AAAAAAAAA_Q/hy5eY5Y-rDA/s320/jumping-for-joy-300x200.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5288903617831731682" />
2. Design your Best Year Yet – As an architect would design a skyscraper, write out the goals, plans and actions it will take to achieve the life you want to live.

3. Identify Your Passion - What are your unique interests, talents and gifts? Passion attracts success. Find what you love to do - you will never “work” again.

4. Program Yourself for Success – You will see, perceive, expect and create what you think about. To program your mind for success – read watch and listen to materials that will support your success.

5. Surround Yourself with Success - You are the combined average of the five people you hang around the most. Surround yourself with healthy, success-minded achievers.

6. Model Success - The best way to learn to be successful at anything is to find someone who is where you want to be and model their success habits.

7. Master the Fundamentals – Don’t complicate it. About a half a dozen things make up 90%+ of what it takes to be successful at anything. Keep it simple.

8. Get Fit - The mind cannot achieve what the body cannot perform. Your family, friends and career and future depend on your good health. Make it priority No. 1.

9. Remember What’s Important – At the end of the journey what will have mattered most will be your relationships – the people you love and those that love you. Make sure they are on your goal list.

10. Make a Difference – What do you want your life’s legacy to be? You have the power to make a positive difference – to a single person, a neighborhood, a community, a nation, the world. Realize that power in 2009.

Problems Are A Sign of Life

If you don't have any problems, then you are probably dead. Instead of focussing on problems as something negative, consider the challenge of creating better problems.

"The secret is not to solve all our problems; rather it’s to learn to see them as gifts - an opportunity to learn, grow and give more to those around us. Sometimes our so-called “problems” turn out to be the greatest blessings of our lives." - Anthony Robbins

Out with old excuses. It nags us and spoils our fun. It deprives us of the fullest realization of our ambitions and hopes."
- Thomas S. Monson

You know what happens when you keep putting things off, or leave them to the last minute? They either don't get done or something happens at the last minute to prevent you from doing whatever it is and then it becomes a problem. Like missing the deadline to submit a tax return. Or completing a report and then flu stops you from thinking straight. Or leaving home late and missing a flight.

Wouldn't you feel better in yourself if you actually did something ahead of time, leaving you without that nagging feeling?

Is one of your new year resolutions to make a positive change in some way? Have you decided to join a gym? Lose weight? Stop smoking? Clear out the clutter in the spare room? Start a new hobby? Overcome a fear? Adopt better time management skills?

Good, but where will you be one week from now...two weeks from now...a month from now...if you rely on your own willpower? Isn't that what you have always done? "If you keep doing what you've always done, you'll keep getting what you've always got."

Using hypnosis to overcome your procrastination can really make a huge difference in your life. Instead of forcing yourself to do something, you can relax deeply, both mentally and physically, and just allow the positive suggestions contained in a hypnosis session to gently re-programme your mind to wanting to achieve what has been nagging you.

Click here for a download hypnosis Mp3 to overcome procrastion. Do it now! Carpe Diem!

Do it now! is an audio hypnosis session which uses the power of hypnosis to directly access your unconscious mind.

You need to make a conscious decision to listen to Do it now! but then you can sit back and let your unconscious mind engage with what it does best - shaping your future. You don't have to work out how to change what you do, as powerful hypnotic suggestions activate the appropriate emotional triggers that will propel you into action.

Download Do it now! and don't waste another minute.

© Antonia Harrison is the English Hypnotherapist in Belgium and recommends Download Hypnosis Mp3s for immediate access to positive life-changing hypnosis sessions.

I Do the Very Best I Know How

"I do the very best I know how - the very best I can; and mean to keep doing so until the end.
