This is to say that your attitude matters a lot. Personal attitude makes all the difference between a winner in life and a loser. It is further said that you can change anything and everything if you change your mind set. What the mind has decided the body cannot defy.

Hence you must never doubt yourself if you want to achieve self development. Failure is the reward for those who have the audacity to demean themselves. If you do not value and respect yourself then no one will respect you. Thus your first step in becoming a winner in life is by admiring your strengths and knowing that you deserve the good things in life.

Nevertheless, confidence and self-assurance are not in themselves adequate. You need to have a plan of action, a strategy for attaining self development. Careful planning, rationality and creativity are the irreplaceable ingredients required at every facet of life in order to achieve success in life. Not forgetting to take action in whatever you set to do.

Many people fail because of not taking action. Therefore, if you have a vision and a good plan remember to strategize on how you are going to act on it. As the say "Procrastination is the thief of time". Hence you will need to do what you can today and not tomorrow if you are to attain self development. In reality 'tomorrow' never comes.

In any case, the best preparation for tomorrow is by doing your best today and with the available resources. Also failure comes sooner to those who wait for the perfect opportunities since they will never come.

To be a winner in life is really therefore a matter of knowing what you want and going right for it. Never hesitate to seize an opportunity; you might pay with your life thus the secret of self development.
We seem to have lost our bearing & our sense of direction

One young academically excellent person went to apply for a managerial position in a big company.

He passed the first interview; the director did the last interview.

The director discovered from the CV that the youth's academic achievements were excellent all the way, from the secondary school until the postgraduate research, never had a year when he did not score.

The director asked, "Did you obtain any scholarships in school?"

The youth answered "none".

The director asked, "Was it your father who paid for your school fees?"

The youth answered, "My father passed away when I was one year old, it was my mother who paid for my school fees.

The director asked, "Where did your mother work?"

The youth answered, "My mother worked as laundry woman.

The director requested the youth to show his hands.

The youth showed a pair of hands that were smooth and perfect.

The director asked, "Have you ever helped your mother wash the clothes before?"

The youth answered, "Never, my mother always wanted me to study and read more books. Furthermore, my mother can wash clothes faster than me.

The director said, "I have a request. “When you go back today, go and clean your mother's hands, and then see me tomorrow morning.”

The youth felt that his chance of landing the job was high. When he went back, he happily requested his mother to let him clean her hands.

His mother felt strange, happy but with mixed feelings, she showed her hands to the young man.

The youth cleaned his mother's hands slowly. His tear fell as he did that. It was the first time he noticed that his mother's hands were so wrinkled, and there were so many bruises in her hands. Some bruises were so painful that his mother shivered when they were cleaned with water.

This was the first time the youth realized that it was this pair of hands that washed the clothes everyday to enable him to pay the school fee. The bruises in the mother's hands were the price that the mother had to pay for his graduation, academic excellence and his future.

After finishing the cleaning of his mother’s hands, the youth quietly washed all the remaining clothes for his mother.

That night, mother and son talked for a very long time.

Next morning, the youth went to the director's office.

The Director noticed the tears in the youth's eyes, asked: "Can you tell me what have you done and learned yesterday in your house?"

The youth answered, "I cleaned my mother's hand, and also finished cleaning all the remaining clothes'

The Director asked, "Please tell me your feelings."

The youth said:

1. I know now what appreciation is. Without my mother, there would not have been the successful me today.

2. By working together and helping my mother, only I now realize how difficult and tough it is to get something done.

3. I have come to appreciate the importance and value of family relationships.

The director said, "This is what I am looking for to be my manager.

I want to recruit a person who can appreciate the help of others, a person who knows the sufferings of others to get things done, and a person who would not put money as his only goal in life. You are hired.

Later on, this young person worked very hard, and received the respect of his subordinates. Every employee worked diligently and as a team. The company's performance improved tremendously.

A child, who has been protected and habitually given whatever he wanted, would develop "entitlement mentality" and would always put him self first. He would be ignorant of his parent's efforts. When he starts work, he assumes that every person must listen to him, and when he becomes a manager, he would never know the sufferings of his employees and would always blame others. For this kind of a person, who may be good academically, may be successful for a while, but eventually would not feel sense of achievement. He will grumble and be full of hatred and fight for more. If we are this kind of protective parents, are we really showing love or are we destroying the children instead?*

You can let your children live in a big house, eat a good meal, learn piano, watch a big screen TV. But when you are cutting grass, please let them experience it. After a meal, let them wash their plates and bowls together with their brothers and sisters. It is not because you do not have money to hire a maid, you want them to understand, no matter how rich their parents are, one day their hair will grow gray, same as the mother of that young person. The most important thing is your children learn how to appreciate the effort and experience the difficulty and learn how to work with others to get things done.

<!--

My God, I hope it is you.

So many of us wander from relationship, marriage, to another one. Suddenly, you have no one to blame, but life, in general, because nothing seems to make any real sense.

Don't you begin to wonder, "What is it all about?"

Of course, you are not alone. Most of us, sooner, or later go up against that big question, "What is it all about?"

You're born, you're raised, you raise hell, you find a mate, you raise small carbons of you and your mate, you expect them to be better, or as good as you were, you kick back, watch life go by, engage life, when you want to. You begin to feel life creeping up, you panic, you pay for extra health benefits, your spouse gets sick and dies, you feel abandoned and very fragile, your kids try to comfort you, but no one can, not now. You begin to wonder, what life really means, but it has taken on a whole new question, no one can answer for you, then, then.. then.

I can't tell you what it's all about. I don't believe any article, or website can do this for you. Although, I am sure many have tried to find their answers, hidden in some story; something about them. In the end, I believe you have to rise up and find the courage for yourself, to move on.

Purpose? Life's calling?

The number one question is, "Will my life work out?" All lives work out. So, stop worrying. Everything works out for the greater good. And, the answer is, NO! I cannot tell you about, "the greater good." It is very private information. Such is life, damn it!!

Start right now, by affirming your life. Talk to yourself, honestly, what is it that you want now, then; Go get it and don't let it go.

Your life is what matters the most. Begin by affirming your life, and what you want it to mean to you, then take action. This is the only life you have now, so take it and make it mean something for you.

There is a law in the universe. It is very real. It's time to start using it for you, because no one else can, but you.

The law of attraction simply works. You will have to take my word on it. It's roots are in metaphysics, as well as quantum mechanics. Start using it to help you get where you want to go.

Stop telling yourself all that crap, about how it doesn't matter anyway. Start telling yourself all of that good stuff, you can't seem to believe. About, how good you really are. How you really do love all those people that have always been there for you. I know sometimes, it didn't seem like they were, but they were only doing the best they could do, from where they came from.

Continue affirming your life, by becoming yourself again. The only one in your way, is you. So, push yourself out of the way and let everyone know, you are here. And please.., don't let us stand in your way.

Tell yourself what it is you want, and stand on it. "I am getting what I need." It's a start. It will feed on itself, but you have to believe it is possible; if only for a moment.

The universe will answer you. If you don't believe in it, then God will, but, please have some faith, if only a little. This simple statement, "I am getting what I need." will get you by, for now.

God bless all of you.
Dade Wiggins
Dade Wiggins is a metaphysical, content writer, author, photographer, husband, father. But, when one understands that the process also includes four stage of learning, the overall journey can take on an entirely new richness and value. See how the learning stages impact the goal achievement process.

Have you become frustrated at one time or another when trying to achieve a new goal? It can sometimes seem as if you are struggling to reach your destination. And the last thing you want to do is become discouraged or self-deprecating. Yet, this does tend to happen to the best of us.

While a proficient achiever knows how to set and pursue a goal, there are other factors that enter into the process toward developing excellence. Knowing about this process can help alleviate getting stuck and also bring greater clarity and value toward achieving a goal.

When learning something new, most of us go through a 4-stage process. Think in terms of a baby who does not get around on its own, but then learns to crawl, eventually walks and finally knows how to run. If you see the big picture, then you are more likely to work through the rough spots.

Setting and working toward a goal is very similar to the four stages of learning. So let us take a look at these stages and consider how this process applies to the journey of goal achievement.

The learning or achievement process can become difficult when bad feelings surface because one makes a mistake or hits a roadblock. These feelings are reflected in self-judgments such as, ‘I am not doing this right,’ ‘I am not good enough,’ ‘I can never learn this,’ and so on.

Ironically, not getting it right early on and making mistakes are vital steps in the learning process. Yet too often our attention goes to trying to avoid the bad feelings, rather than to the learning or task at hand. Understanding and working through the four stages of learning a skill or achieving a goal can help keep the process focused, and not about feeling frustrated or discouraged.

Here are the four stages of the learning process:

1. Unconscious Incompetence: ‘I do not know that I do not know how to do this.’ This is the stage of blissful ignorance before learning begins.

2. Conscious Incompetence: ‘I know that I do not know how to do this, yet.’ This is the most difficult stage, where learning begins and where the most self-judgments are formed.

3. Conscious Competence: ‘I know that I know how to do this.’ This stage of learning is easier than the second stage, but it is still uncomfortable and self-conscious.

4. Unconscious Competence: ‘What, you say I did something well?’ The final stage of learning a skill is when it has become a natural part of us; we do not have to think about it.

Do you see how these four stages apply when setting and pursuing a goal? Remember, while you may know all the steps for properly setting a goal and going after it, there are still other factors that you must process along the way. Keeping the four stages of learning in mind can definitely help in making the goal achievement journey more effective.

Article Tags: Goal Achievement, Four Stages

Source: Free Articles from ArticlesFactory.com

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

PROFIT NOW from the highly acclaimed FREE AUDIO CD on Breakthrough Success at http://DiscoverMillionDollarDesire.com

Also go to http://DiscoverMillionDollarDesire.com/blog for more articles on Internet marketing and to advance personal and career success.
<!--

Are you just making ends meet living from paycheck to paycheck?

You can have a life of abundance. It can easily come to you if you know how.

Having a job I adore, a loving relationship, and the life I desire allows me to be lead through example. It enables me to show you how to attract what you desire into your life, just as I am doing in mine.

My life wasn’t always this great. I have had a lot of hard times and experienced more than my share of tragedy and heartache. It wasn’t until after my children had grown and moved away that I would discover what many other people already knew.

If you desire abundance, you must see abundance already in your life. Sound a bit ridiculous? It really isn’t. Let me explain.

In order to attract abundance, you must first have an abundance mindset. If you change your thoughts, you can change your life.

You may be thinking that you have an abundance mindset and have been focusing on more money, landing a better job, etc. Have you been thinking about having enough money to pay your bills off or get out of debt? If that has been your focus, it’s no wonder you haven’t attracted the money you desire. I’d bet you have continued to struggle with bills and incur debt. By simply placing these two negative thoughts (bills, debt) into your focus, you have subconsciously attracted more of the same types of issues/events to you.

An abundance mindset focuses on the lifestyle you would have living with abundance. Instead of thinking about the lack, focus on having plenty of money to manage all of your needs. Focus on having more that enough money for the things that you want. Perhaps one of your desires is to be able to take a vacation. Focus on taking that vacation. Feel how wonderful it would be to do the things you desire. By thinking about taking a vacation and having more than enough money for the entire trip, you are focusing on what you truly want and developing a mindset that is in harmony with your desires.

Developing an abundance mindset may not be easy at first, but with a little practice will become your normal way of thinking. You will soon begin to see little signs of abundance coming into your life.

I suggest you take note of everything you experience, no matter how small and be appreciative of it. For example, finding a penny on the sidewalk or getting a great parking space would be two examples of abundance. Having someone treat you to lunch is another. When you begin to notice and appreciate the small things in your life, it will also help place you in a more receptive and allowing mindset. Keeping an abundance or gratitude journal is a great way of reminding yourself of all the abundance in your life.

Besides, if all of us would take just a few minutes out of our day to reflect on the nice things we have experienced, we would soon realize the abundance already present in our lives. It would brighten our outlook, raise our emotions, and allow us to be more of a magnet for attracting more of the same things to us.

Having a life coach can be extremely beneficial when it comes to learning how to attract your desires - especially if they are trained in the Law of Attraction. Even Tiger Woods has a coach. Many coaches, myself included, offer complimentary consultative sessions so that people can experience the many benefits that working with a life coach has to offer.

Why not take that next step. Discover for yourself how easy it is to change your thoughts and change your life. You won’t be disappointed.
Article Tags: Attracting More, Abundance Mindset, Thinking About, Enough Money

Source: Free Articles from ArticlesFactory.com

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

©2007 Judith A. Congratulations, you are 100% normal.

Procrastination can be very addictive, and can become a habit. You tend to do other things that you want to do that are less important and less urgent. At the end, your timetable is all messed up and things that are supposed to be done end up being delayed. Worse, you may end up not accomplishing anything at all. Procrastination can be stopped. Here are some tips to help you finish what you have committed to do.

Accept the job at hand.

Everyone has responsibilities. If you are set to finish a report for work or if you are tasked to repaint the house, acknowledge your duty and do it. Be responsible. Remember that it is your accountability if you fail to do what you are ought to do. The chain of order would break if one person stands lazy, especially at work.

Keep the end result in mind.

Before procrastinating on a particular job, think of what will happen if you neglect it. Nobody wants to be kicked out of the office, get a lengthy sermon from parents, or even turn down somebody else’s expectations. If you allow yourself to indulge in your procrastinating bliss, you will just end up being miserable.

Remember your reward.

Every good task done deserves an incentive. Rewards can be in the form of monetary increase in salary, your boss’ approval, or even a friend’s pat on the back. This will keep you moving and motivated to work. Remembering what you would get after you have finished your job can be a good start to help you engage in your task. Doing things that you are required to do can bring people to trust you and build your reliability as a person.

Make no room for excuses.

There is always an excuse that you can creatively make up if you really want to stall on a job. Don’t do it. You are only fooling yourself. Stay clear of negative thoughts like “I won’t finish it on time, so why start on it?” or “I got better things to do,” when you know the fact that what you are supposed to do is important and urgent.

Get to the bottom of your procrastination. On every task that you want to put off, there should be a reason behind it. For instance, if you are about to do something complex, say fixing your computer, do you have the know-how to do it? If not, maybe that’s the reason why you don’t want to do it. Just hire someone else who can take away your burden.

Don’t trick yourself in believing that you have plenty of time left after your procrastinating spree. More often than not, if you always put your supposedly urgent tasks on the bottom of your to-do list, you’ll end up cramming to catch up with the deadline. You either end up with an output of lesser quality or not finish the job at all. Following these quick tips can help lessen your procrastinating habit. It’s definitely a start.

Posted by Alan Searing who is Managing Director of Online Express Limited and trades as Solutions4U providing self development books and tapes at the support group for Anthony Robins fans (The Yes Group) and he is passionate about providing resources to help others help themselves and to improve upon their own circumstances in life. They presented him the words: “And this, too, shall pass away.” How much it expresses! How chastening in the hour of pride! How consoling in the depths of affliction!
Life is about evolution growth and personal development, we can actively move through it with that idea in mind or we can just allow life to deliver its challenges and surprises as it sees fit. Either way we all encounter “problems”, rich, poor, weak, strong, young or old. Life continually challenges us to learn and become more capable. We label these challenges as problems, often, they feel uncomfortable and that is our guide.
Whenever we feel discomfort it is because we are being called or guided towards change, but resisting it, our discomfort signals an opportunity for improvement but for most of us we view it not as an opportunity but as a setback, an obstacle, hassle, a pain in the bum…
Take the simple example of a hangover from drinking alcohol. Its generally accepted that feeling hung over is not very pleasant but even though we’ve had many hangovers before we continue to drink and our bodies continue to tell us that we are poisoning ourselves. That is fine though, its our choice. It is also familiar territory (if you drink), you’ve had hangovers before and you know that this feeling, “too, shall pass” and that you can choose again whether to drink or not when the time comes.
Hangovers are quite easy to deal with because we can see so clearly that we created the problem. Well not everybody sees it that way I suppose, I’ve known many blame their ill feeling on “the dodgy meat pie, kebab, curry etc. etc.” but you can be fairly certain that if they hadn’t combined the trash food with a gallon of booze then they’d actually be feeling much better. Anyway, I digress, my point is that with a problem such as dealing with the results of excess drinking we are able to see its immediate cause and recognise the transitory nature of its presence. With other problems we tend to be less accepting and more complaining.
We find our partner is having an affair, get dumped, or we lose our job, have and accident, fail to be paid money owed to us etc. any number of problems. If you run a business then you’ll likely experience times when almost your entire day is spent dealing with problems, staff absence, sickness, equipment breakdowns, finance and payment difficulties, awkward customers and suppliers, sales declines or sudden surges in demand and on it goes…
Each problem asks you “so what do you want now?” and calls you in search of a solution. With experience you come to realise that with any problem “too, shall pass.” Building upon this awareness further allows you to relax into and possibly even enjoy a problem, they only become stressful if you continue to perceive them as big threatening, stressful problems.
A problem isn’t really the problem or cause of your discomfort, rather it is your reaction of resisting to accepting and dealing with the problem that is causing you the greatest discomfort and stress. Its a subjective thing, you experience something as a “big issue” but to someone else, familiar with such matters, it could very well be a “non issue”, no problem at all. Its only your problem because of your perception.
No, “that’s not right”, you say, “If such and such hadn’t happened then I wouldn’t be feeling this way” and in part that is true as well, but you can choose to feel differently and you’re still stuck with the problem anyway. Can you really create a life free of problems, challenge and difficulties? Would you really want to live like that? Perhaps what you’d like is to be able to pick and choose your problems instead?
Well, I suggest that is what you are already doing, but in a less than fully conscious manner, an aspect of the greater you is calling your problems into your life for you to grow and interact with, to learn and evolve from. In “Law Of Attraction” terms its the vibration you are offering to life and to which life is responding.
You’re already getting exactly you want, exactly the circumstances will give you the greatest opportunity for growth and development but you keep choosing to see that as a problem. You think “aargh! This is a problem” and Life says “Yep, your right, it is a problem” but the very moment you begin accepting and looking instead for a solution then Life starts responding “oh yes of course there is a solution, lets keep looking…”
And anyway:~
“this, too, shall pass”
When I was seventeen I decided one lonesome evening that life was a problem, a futile pursuit. My angry solution was to swallow nearly 100 aspirin, “who needs life anyway!”. In hospital the following day having experienced the grim reality of astrally looking down at the anxious face of my worried mother followed by the shame of vomiting repeatedly over the long suffering nurse attempting to pump my stomach I realised deeply just how happy and lucky I was to be alive. Just how few problems I actually had. It was all a case of perception.
The next day I was up and about, happily smiling, and taking tea to other patients on the ward. My life was changed irrevocably for the better because I had gained a fresh value and perception of the gift of life through nearly losing it. I’ve never looked back.
Attempting suicide is an extremely selfish, poor solution, not to be recommended at all. Trust me I’ve been there.
It never needs to get that bad just practice re-framing and toying your problem into more manageable scenarios, look past them for solutions and if you’re really in the pit of anger or despair then take a risk and reach out to someone for help, support and love.
You’re never alone.
Enjoy!
<!--

People who are able to follow up on their goals that they set for themselves are more likely to be successful in their lives. Studies have shown that those who make an effort to plan their time properly tend to achieve more in life both, emotionally and financially.

When they stop wasting time they are able to manage their resources better in order to give priority to those areas in their lives life that really need them.

You may have heard of the saying, "profits are lost equals to time are lost". I believe you may certainly agree with me to a certain extent.

If you have your own a business, this is undoubtedly true for you. Managing your time better will help you to achieve massive improvements in your performances at the office (and hopefully those will correspond to furthering your career).

Of course, besides from your financial reasons the other benefits or payoffs of time management of course apply to your private life.

With proper effective time managment, you can have more time to be with your family. You can be the work at home mom and benefit from your superior time management skills.

It may sound too good to be true or grand, you can really control your destiny through simple time management principles or strategies. In addition, you will also be able to see all your goals realized – what other skill or industry can promise you that?

In fact, the true benefit or payoff of a time management program is the happiness it brings into your lifestyle. And the payoffs just don’t stop at this level; they are also more visible in your business sales turnover and in your career.

Well, a good time management plan or program can show you more good benefits than just helping you to establish a to-do list and a schedule for each day of each month.

What is The Biggest Benefit or Payoff Of An Effective Time Management

The ability to help you figure out where is your time wasted. That’s one of the reason why the benefit is so great.

This fact, which combined with how time management also teaches you about priorities, is a powerful combination for changing your life into what you want it to be.
When we mention about priorities, understand that there are things in your life you should not avoid. These are the events you have to take care of. Then there are events in life that you can get away that can be taken care of another day.

Having said that, this goes on the less important list of things needing to be done. This process – finding out what you are doing to waste your time and focusing on priorities – is the real benefit or payoff of time management program.

You can really take advantage of the payoffs of time management if you were to follow the effective techniques and plan accordingly. You will find that as you get better at your plan, you will be faster at accomplishing those tasks.

The basic fact to effective time management is that you have to be very disciplined in following your plan and program. You have to stick with your plan that you have create for yourself.

If, following your plan seems daunting, then it may be too unrealistic (or you may not be trying hard enough). The fact that you have to set realistic goals to reap the true benefits or payoffs of time management.

Even though, you may now realise that true benefit or payoff of time management, all words no actions is simply does not make your goals come true.

Take action now is the most right thing to do if you want you goals realized.

Without an effective and proper time management system, there will not be much goal-oriented lifestyle to hope for.

Understanding the fact of a good time management program that are easy to follow and implement and now allowing you to side-track is really allowing you to enjoy your life once again. So, please don't wait any longer before giving another excuse to realize your goals again.

Eddy K Elgin is the author of the 17 Minutes Time Management Secrets. The title of the book was "If you don't know where you're going you'll probably end up somewhere else". Those words have stuck with me all these years.

When you think about the title and realize that most people have no idea where they're going or what they want. It's really sad. Our minds are goal seeking computers. Just give it a specific goal and it will work to complete it. However, all most people have is vague wandering thoughts of what they want. They've never written their thoughts down in a coherent manner.

If you send a message to a friend you don't write the words down in whatever order and expect them to figure out what it says. Why do we do it to ourselves with what we want out of life?

It's your job to write down on paper how you want to live.

Get out a piece of paper and start with your top 100 goals. Start writing a list of the things you want to accomplish in your life. I mean anything you can imagine, learning a language, taking a trip, meeting a famous or not so famous person. Write on that list everything from the littlest thing like brushing your teeth twice a day to flying in the space shuttle.

Keep making the list until you reach 100, however, don't stop there. Carry the list with you and continue to write down more goals as you think of them. It may take several hours or days to complete this list. However, it's essential that you do it.

Goal Setting Tip #2: Let's get specific

The second goal setting tip, get specific about the things that you want. Take your top 100 list and start with the easiest ones and write a more specific description of what you want. If it's a car, what make and model, what color, leather or cloth seats. If it's a trip, where are you going, how will you get there and what will you see. If it's money, be specific. How much, why do you want it and what will you do with it when you get it. Remember, BE SPECIFIC!

Goal Setting Tip #3: It's in the want to, you'll find the how to.

Now let's discover the key to successful goal setting. Why do you want it? Think about and write on paper why you want each of the dreams on your Top 100 list. Get specific and dig deep to the emotions and feelings that are behind each one. It's in this step you'll find which ones you truly are willing to pay the price to get and which ones are not really important.

"The best way to predict your future is to create it". - Chinese Proverb

In order to create your future you have to know what you want to create.
<!--

On coming home one day, they realized to their dismay that the lifts were not working and that they have to climb the stairs home.

After struggling to the 20th level, panting and tired, they decided to abandon their bags and come back for them the next day. They left their bags then and climbed on. When they have struggled to the 40th level, the younger brother started to grumble and both of them began to quarrel. They continued to climb the flights of steps, quarreling all the way to the 60th floor.

They then realized that they have only 20 levels more to climb and decided to stop quarreling and continue climbing in peace. They silently climbed on and reached their home at long last. Each stood calmly before the door and waited for the other to open the door.

And they realized that the key was in their bags which was left on the 20th floor

This story is reflecting on our life...many of us live under the expectations of our parents, teachers and friends when young. We seldom get to do the things that we really like and love and are under so much pressure and stress so that by the age of 20, we get tired and decided to dump this load.

Being free of the stress and pressure, we work enthusiastically and dream ambitious wishes.

But by the time we reach 40 years old, we start to lose our vision and dreams. We began to feel unsatisfied and start to complain and criticize. We live life as a misery as we are never satisfied. Reaching 60, we realize that we have little left for complaining anymore, and we began to walk the final episode in peace and calmness.

We think that there is nothing left to disappoint us, only to realize that we could not rest in peace because we have an unfulfilled dream ...... a dream we abandoned 60 years ago.

So what is your dream?

Follow your dreams, so that you will not live with regrets.
<!--
