Cailey was found hiding under a car with her friend Cassie who has been adopted.

Cailey was the brave one and came out to see the rescue volunteer who found them.

Cailey is very loving towards humans and other dogs.

It is not known if Cailey gets along with cats. She is a very playful and very much a puppy as she is curious about everything in sight. She’s a strong little girl, holds her own and keeps the rest in line. Since Cailey is still a puppy, we don’t know for sure how big she will get; we are estimating 25-30 pounds.

If Cailey sounds like the perfect match to your family, please contact Miniature Schnauzers & Friends.

Be sure to let them know you found out about Cailey on BocMeow’s Foster Dog of the Month site.

I once had someone ask me during an interview if I ever saw a cat and dog cuddle each other during my care for them.

My reply, without thinking twice was “Yes!”. I thought it a bit odd that someone would ask me such a question. That same person then asked me if I thought society would accept such a thing! I thought “What?!” but said “Yes!”. Bottom line, people embrace love, regardless what form it comes; but in our society we see more negativity in the media than positive. Well, the video below is the true depiction of love and if you’ve never seen a dog and cat cuddle, be aware-the video is quite graphic!

BocMeow is currently in the process of organizing its first annual pet photo contest.

The contest will be available to all of BocMeow’s pet sitting and dog walking clients in the South Bay as well as BocMeow’s online social networking followers/friends. The more people that know about it, the better!!!

We would like to make the announcement with rules on November 9, 2009 for participants to enter the contest.

However, we would like to have all prizes organized per category, i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd prior to making the contest announcement. If you’re interested in donating to our contest, please contact Shannon Benecke, owner of BocMeow. This is a great way to market your business!!! Everyone who donates will receive constant shoutouts from BocMeow on Facebook and Twitter during the photo contest promotion plus a blog written all about your business!

Prizes can include products from your pet related business (gift basket) or gift certificate.

Since the contest will be promoted via Twitter and Facebook, we can only accept donations that can be used ANYWHERE (no stores/grooming salons, etc as someone in Washington cannot go to a pet store in California).

Here is how we are organizing the prize selection:

1st prize will be $150.00 value (this could be a combo of small items or 1 large item)

2nd prize $100.00 value

3rd prize will be $75.00 value.

BocMeow will also donate $50.00 to any nonprofit animal rescue group for 1st prize (winner’s choice).

As a proud supporter of The Healing Art of Pet Parenthood, written by Nadine M Rosin, I am adding on a copy of Ms. Rosin’s book to the the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winner.

Additionally, twelve photos will be chosen to be “pet of the month” in 2010 (the first 3 selected will be the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize winners) which will be posted on BocMeow’s very high ranking website. Each month for 2010, there will be a pet of the month. Any information that the pet’s owner would like to put up will be posted with their pet’s photo on BocMeow’s website.

While BocMeow is a pet sitting business in Los Angeles County, we are currently working on several different projects to expand our business with holistic pet care and animal rescue.

Please feel free to check out our website to have a better understanding of who we are.

If you’re interested in helping BocMeow out in the social networking field by donating something to our first annual pet photo contest, please let us know by November 5, 2009.

Our long term goal is to help as many animals as possible through animal rescue and through pet nutrition. The more you can help spread the word about us, the more we can help.

Feel free to contact us with any questions!

Henry was dumped by his owner at a high kill shelter.

He is an affectionate, sweet and friendly boy who loves people! He gets along with most dogs (he’s a little dominant-as long as the other dogs aren’t dominant, he’s fine.)

Henry is NOT cat friendly; he’d like them for lunch but not as a date!

Henry LOVES the dog park! Like many of the dogs in rescue Henry needs obedience training but has been responding well in his foster home.

He is very energetic and requires a home with a secure fenced yard.

Henry is approximately 28 pounds.

If Henry sounds like a match for your family, please contact Miniature Schnauzers and Friends.

Henry is a friend of BocMeow’s so if he’s adopted within BocMeow’s coverage area, his future family will receive life time Foster Dog of The Month benefits.
Ginger was found on the streets, scared to death.

For a while after she was rescued, Ginger would not let anyone touch her except for a little boy.

It is obvious she has been abused as she is afraid of all new adults.

Once she knows you won’t hurt her, she warms up. She likes to be petted but not held; although she will sit beside you.

Ginger would do best in a quiet home without a lot of visitors.

Ginger’s future family must be aware that new people frighten her i.e. must inform all visitors to respect Ginger’s space. Ginger is approximately 19 pounds.

If you are interested in adding Ginger to your family, please contact Miniature Schnauzers and Friends.

Please specify that you found out about Ginger from the BocMeow Foster Dog of the Month program in order to receive the Foster Dog of the Month benefits (must be within coverage area). Ginger knows the owner of BocMeow so she comes with a pet sitter if she’s adopted within BocMeow’s coverage area

BocMeow is proud to offer a brand new service to all of our wonderful South Bay clients.

Effective 11/01/09, BocMeow will designate every Sunday as a hiking day for all of our bow wowsin’ friends.

Have a canine pal that would be interested?

Have them join the BocMeow Pack Hiking Club!

At BocMeow, we know how the weekend is often a time for our clients to rest from their busy work week.

While you’re ready to sleep in and keep it low key during the weekend, your barkin’ buddies are ready to start a new adventure.

So if your dog seems like he/she is feeling restless and needs more than just a walk around the block, you now have the option to call BocMeow and schedule an hour hike for your fur kid!

The hikes are not only a great way to give your dog a GREAT workout, but also allows them to interact with other dogs and give them a bit of mental stimulation outside of their daily routine!

Since this is a brand new service for BocMeow we are currently limited to offering hikes ONLY on Sundays between the hours of 9 am and 2 pm.

It is highly recommended you make reservations at least 7 days in advance if you’d like your pup to join the BocMeow Pack Hiking Club!

We will take no more than 5 dogs (per person) at a time on a trail in the Palos Verdes area.

Hikes are $30.00 per hour including round trip transportation ($10.00 per additional dog). Drivetime is not included in the hour so your dog will get one FULL hour of hiking in the Palos Verdes area.

If you’d like your dog to participate every Sunday, we offer a 15% discount.

Please email or call with questions.

We must meet all new clients for a consultation before commiting to the BocMeow Pack Hiking Club for everyone’s safety.
