This Is another post on my pet rat.
I would like to start by giving you some insight on my love of pet rats. When I was 17 my friends and I were at our local mall just hanging out when the conversation turned to animals and pets in general. As we all began to compare our favorite pets, ie.. dogs, cats, rabbits, my friend larry surprised us all when he told us about his pet at home. Pet what?? we asked a pet rat wow whats a pet RAT?? Hey this was in 1987 no one I knew had a pet rat ok. Now that larry had all of our attention he began to tell us about his pet rat. Larrys pet rat was named mr chompers. We all thought that was a catchy name. The more larry told us about his pet rat, mr chompers, i was quickly becomming very intersted in owning a pet rat. Right about half way through larrys pet rat speech a fight broke out down the mall and all our friends went to check it out. I stayed behind to hear more about larrys pet rat. He told me how cool it was to have a pet rat and what a good fried they could be. I could not hold out any longer i just had to know where i could get a pet rat for myself. So I asked larry where he got his pet rat, and he told me, quite jokingly "well here in the mall of course". I was floored, here in the mall? I asked, where in here did you get a pet rat? Larry replied in the pet store you dummy. I laughed and said of course lets go buddy. So as we walked down the mall i continued to quize larry on his pet rat wanting to know all the juciy details about caring and training a pet rat and all. All of a sudden there it was the world of pets at the end of a short hall, very little traffic down there i guess thats why i never noticed the pet store ever being in the mall. So there i was standing in front of the pet store the only thing seperating me from my pet rat was a a door and my parents.
