			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Our well-intended attempts at simply and succinctly quantifying the impacts of our food system on climate change through notions such as <em>food miles </em>and <em>carbon foodprints</em> has just gotten more complicated.</p>
<p>It turns out that there are a lot more variables at play, even when just considering the impacts of growing a single food crop, than we generally assume.  While the fossil fuels involved in processing and shipping foods gets a lot of airplay, the way food is grown may actually play a more significant role in the overall picture&#8211;and may also hold the key to significantly lowering our food system&#8217;s climate changing impacts.</p>
<p>Plants both absorb carbon from the atmosphere as they photosynthesize, while also emitting carbon dioxide (along with the microorganisms in the soil&#8211;and even the people around them) when they respire.</p>

		<description><![CDATA[Starting Thursday, June 11th, the Bounty Farm will have a beautiful wooden farm stand fully stocked with the sweetest berries in town.]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Thanks to Sally and Neil Carstensen, the Bounty Farm has a beautiful wooden farm stand that will be fully stocked with  delectable Chandler strawberries starting next Thursday, June 11th.  If you aren&#8217;t familiar with these certified organic strawberries, Sally has been growing the sweetest berries in town for the last 10 years and they can&#8217;t be topped. <p>Next week we will be open during the following times:</p>
<p><strong>Thursday, June 11th - 11 am to 4 pm</strong></p>
<p><strong>Friday, June 12th - 11 am to 4 pm</strong></p>
<p><strong>Saturday, June 13th - 11 am to 4 pm</strong></p>
<p>We will see how sales go next week and may change these times depending on demand.</p>
<p>In addition to the strawberries, you will also be able to purchase some  Bounty Farm vegetables, herbs and possibly flowers.</p>
<p>The berries will be available at the Bounty Farm stand during June while the berries are bountiful. Then they won&#8217;t be available again until August at our farm stand site.</p>
