I've had various everyday boring cars which I will ignore but interesting cars I've had include Clio cup, Westfield, S2 elise, S2 exige, Clio V6 and I now own a S1 exige as a garage queen / weekend toy, a 996.2 C2 for my daily commute (these are bargains now) and a company Merc for the family. Anyway more about the S1 exige.

I've owned the car since early 2008. Looking through the history I have an invoice from Bell & Colvill who carried out the '190' upgrade in 2004. On this invoice they have printed the below comment :-

"Behind rear cabin panel on the bulkhead is lots of writing and signatures wishing happy motoring to the last exige built"

I've been meaning to take the interior out and take some photo's but just haven't found the time. Anyway a couple of days ago I got the car serviced at Guglielmi (excellent service again btw) and asked if they would also remove the interior and take pictures of the bulkhead.

The good news is that there are loads of signatures. See below for some of the many pictures I have and a couple of the car on tour.









Many of the signatures are readable so I hope to be able to get into contact with one of them shortly.

I actually found two MiniDisc headunits but i'm keeping one as i have a lot of old MiniDisc compilations from the 90's that will be good to listen to again :D

So, first up is a Sony MDXC7900 MiniDisc headunit that was in my 90's weekend toy so hasn't had much use and is in perfect condition and is boxed complete with books and wired stick on optional remote that's not been used................ £30 :)




2nd Item......

Pioneer cassette headunit and six disc CD changer......... comes with book and cables and a remote control (got no batteries for remote so don't know if working) was top of the range back in the day and looks very pretty when all lit up :p.............. £30 :)




..... and lastly, a little Pioneer Bass Tube that i used to have behind the seat of my last work van and i would have it in the new van but there is no room behind the seat which is a shame as it makes a huge difference to the sound :D No book with this but the wiring is labelled on the tube itself and all you will need is a phono cable to get a signal from the bass output of your headunit............ £15 :)

We are moving to India in a couple of months so I'm planning to sell the BMW (keeping the caterham though!)

It's just had its wheels refurbed and a dent taken out so it's looking pretty smart at the moment. However the paintwork is looking swirly and so on as it's nearly 4 years old and hasn't been waxed regularly.

Is it worth getting any detailing work done on the car before putting it up for sale, or do you think it wouldn't affect the sale price?

Well its excellent news, Dad put down a deposit on (and hopefully collecting next week) a 2001 Porsche Boxster S. It really is a time warp car. The owner has owned it since 18 months old and was his wife's second car, it's been serviced at the same Porsche specialist all its life, but major works like the brakes were done at Porsche, not fogetting that it has £11,000 worth of extra's attached to it. And the best bit...Its only got 28,000 miles on the clock :D Bargain!

There were a few things that attracted us to this car in the first place. First being the lights (sorry to bore you with these bits) but the early 986's had what I think were nick named fried egg head lamp , and look incredibly dated. This has clear lenses instead. Secondly, this car also has upgraded alloys that look the business :D I'll make sure Dad gets the coloured wheel centres as I feel that they look far better :D

Plans? Well we have a few for the cars that may go ahead, small stuff such as installing a proper iPod connecter into the radio, and one for a sat nav (we want to keep it looking as original as possible). Then we'd like to put a more 'sporty' exhaust onto it, the louder the better! And I've seen remaps for these taking them up to 270bhp! Very tempting.

Anyway, enough from me I'll put some photo's up now, and may add some more when we collect it! (a better story (and picture heavy) will be on PH by then!)

The fire brigade are selling us a huge posh portacabin cheap for the basis of the project, the Princes trust guys and girls are busily out fundraising, but we are coming up short to the tune of around a grand still. We need some help chaps, either cash, or help with donating/ sponsoring for building materials etc. Once the portacabin is installed we are bulding hardstanding outside for the wheelchairs, ramps, covered area, railings etc, so you can imagine the kind of stuff we need.
Any one who donates cash can consider it a future discount off any labour costs for work at the shack :thumb:

I haven't seen SB asking for volunteers anywhere so maybe they've already got it covered........... but if they haven't i'm sure i won't be the only one willing to step up :D
