PGPD Investigating Fatal Shooting in Landover; Suspect Deceased in Apparent Suicide

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting Thursday in the Landover area. The victim is 41-year-old Malcolm King of Silver Spring.

On August 6, 2026, at approximately 4:40 pm, officers responded to the 6900 block of Stoddert Lane for a shooting. King was located outside suffering from gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased. Following the shooting, the suspect fled the scene.

Within hours of the murder, PGPD Homicide Unit detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the adult male suspect. The suspect and victim were known to each other. Preliminarily, detectives believe the fatal shooting stemmed from an ongoing business-related dispute.

Members of the PGPD’s Fugitive Unit, which is part of the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, located the murder suspect Friday morning in the Baltimore area and pursued him to the Aberdeen area. Prior to officers taking him into custody, it is preliminarily believed the suspect shot and killed himself inside of his vehicle. No PGPD officers fired their duty weapons. Maryland State Police (MSP) are leading the investigation into the suspect’s death. MSP will release the suspect’s name once his family is notified.

PGPD Arrests Suspect in Fatal Shooting in Town of Riverdale Park

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit assumed the investigation into a recent fatal shooting in the town of Riverdale Park. PGPD detectives charged 34-year-old Noe Castillo-Mendez of Riverdale Park with the murder of 44-year-old Dolores Leiva Hernandez of Riverdale Park.

On July 30, 2026, at approximately 10:15 pm, officers were notified of a shooting in an apartment in the 5400 block of Kenilworth Terrace. Officers located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound(s). He died at the scene.

The suspect was taken into custody a short time after the fatal shooting. He is charged with second degree murder and related charges. The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect and victim were known to each other. The motive of the shooting is under investigation.

The Prince George’s County Police Department investigates all homicides that occur in the town of Riverdale Park.

Missing Man Found

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in finding a missing man. He is identified as 50-year-old Nathaniel Grey. He was last seen in the 4900 block of Lasalle Road in Hyattsville on August 1, 2026, at approximately 7:00 pm.

Mr. Grey is a Black male, 5'5" tall and 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a hospital gown and in a wheelchair.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Collision in Beltsville

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck in Beltsville. The deceased motorcycle rider is 43-year-old Monday Williams of Silver Spring.

On July 25, 2026, at approximately 10:35 am, officers responded to the area of Cherry Hill Road and Sellman Road. Williams was transported to a hospital for treatment where he died later that evening. The driver of the involved pickup truck was not injured.

Investigators are working to determine the circumstances of this collision.

As always, investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who has dash camera or home surveillance footage that may have captured the incident to contact the Prince George’s County Police Department. Dayvon Gordon in Custody for 2020 Murder of Andre Cox Jr.

The suspect wanted for the 2020 murder of 22-year-old Andre Cox Jr. in Landover is now in custody. The suspect, 34-year-old Dayvon Gordon, was arrested in Washington, DC, Tuesday evening.

On October 27, 2020, officers responded to the 3200 block of 75th Avenue for a shooting. The victim was located outside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and died a short time later. An arrest warrant for Gordon was obtained shortly after the murder. Extensive efforts over the years to locate him were unsuccessful. The PGPD, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the victim’s parents recently made a public plea for information in the search for Gordon.

Through various investigative techniques, the PGPD’s Fugitive Unit, which is part of the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, located and arrested Gordon on Tuesday. The PGPD is grateful to the Metropolitan Police Department for its assistance with the arrest.

“In addition to our tremendous law enforcement partners, the PGPD is also appreciative of members of the media and the community for assisting us by sharing information on our years-long search for Gordon. It took each component to finally bring this murder suspect into custody. Hopefully this arrest brings some comfort to Andre’s still grieving family,” said Chief George Nader, Prince George’s County Police Department.

Gordon is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He remains in custody in Washington, DC, pending extradition to Prince George’s County. The motive for the murder remains under investigation.

Driver Involved in June Crash Dies of Injuries

The driver involved in a crash that occurred in early June has died of his injuries. He is identified as 71-year-old Thomas Garner 3^rdof Upper Marlboro.

On June 5, 2026, at approximately 12:30 pm, officers responded to the area of Croom Road and West End Farm Road in Upper Marlboro for a single-car crash. Garner, the driver and sole occupant, was transported to a hospital where he died on July 18, 2026. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

PGPD Investigating Multi-Vehicle Fatal Collision in Adelphi

UPDATE: The three decedents in Tuesday’s multi-vehicle crash in Adelphi have all been identified.

The motorcycle operator is 22-year-old Elvin Martinez Hernandez of Hyattsville. The driver and passenger of one of the involved vehicles are 61-year-old Reddick Speight and 62-year-old Terri Stringfellow, both of Adelphi.

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a multi-vehicle fatal crash involving a motorcycle that occurred late Tuesday night in Adelphi. The adult male operator of the motorcycle, an adult male driver of another vehicle, and an adult female passenger all died at the scene. Their identities will be released once families have been notified.

On July 14, 2026, at approximately 11:25 pm, officers responded to the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue and Metzerott Road for a collision involving three vehicles. The driver and passenger of one of the involved vehicles were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle and one of the involved vehicles were traveling northbound on New Hampshire Avenue approaching Metzerott Road when, for reasons now under investigation, a third involved vehicle, which was attempting to make a left turn onto Metzerott Road, collided with them.

Mrs. Sanoir is a Black female, 5'4" tall and 140 pounds. She was last seen wearing a blue bandanna, blue shirt, black pants, yellow sock and brown shoes.

Mr. Zebrauskas was last seen on July 8, 2026, at approximately 12:30 pm in the 4100 block of Kenny Street in Beltsville. He may be driving a silver 2017 Toyota Highlander with Maryland tags 66280HT.

Mr. Zebrauskas is approximately 5’9’’ & 160 lbs and was last seen wearing a plaid shirt and blue jeans.

7/09/26 UPDATE: The deceased pedestrian in Tuesday's fatal pedestrian collision has been identified as 60-year-old Anthony Wigglesworth of Washington, D.C.

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian in Temple Hills. The deceased pedestrian’s name will be released once his family is located and notified.

On July 7, 2026, at approximately 8:30 pm, officers responded to the 4700 block of St. Barnabas Road for the collision. The victim died of his injuries a short time later at a hospital.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on St. Barnabas Road while attempting to cross the roadway. The driver remained on the scene and was not injured.

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Monday afternoon in the unincorporated section of Upper Marlboro. The deceased driver is 23-year-old Juan Hawkins of Brandywine.

On July 6, 2026, at approximately 3:30 pm, officers responded to a collision involving two vehicles in the 11900 block of Croom Road. Hawkins was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second-involved vehicle was taken to the hospital with severe, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation revealed that both vehicles collided head-on while traveling on Croom Road. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash that occurred early Monday morning in Tuxedo. The deceased driver is 40-year-old Anthony Butler of Washington, D.C.

On July 6, 2026, at approximately 12:30 am, officers responded to the intersection of Kenilworth Avenue and Creston Street for a crash involving two vehicles.

The preliminary investigation revealed the two cars collided at the intersection. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Despite life-saving measures, Butler died at the scene. The other involved driver and passengers were taken to a hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision that occurred Saturday morning in Adelphi. The deceased passenger is 74-year-old Peter Acha of Lanham.

On July 4, 2026, at approximately 8:00 am, officers responded to the 3400 block of Metzerott Road for a crash involving one car. Acha, a passenger in the vehicle died of his injuries a short time later at a hospital. The driver suffered injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

The preliminary investigation revealed the driver was heading westbound on Metzerott Road, when for reasons now under investigation, he lost control and struck a tree.

Detectives Charge Suspect in Domestic Related Homicide

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit charged a man in connection with the domestic-related murder of his former girlfriend. The suspect is 31-year-old Terrence Penn Jr. of Temple Hills. He is charged with the murder of 31-year-old Dakota Keys of Capitol Heights.

On July 4, 2026, at approximately 10:10 pm, officers responded to the 1900 block of Brooks Drive for the report of a shooting. Officers located the victim inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound(s). She was pronounced dead on the scene.

After the shooting the suspect fled the scene and then turned himself into police a short time later.

Penn Jr. is charged with first- and second-degree murder. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

On July 1, 2026, at approximately 8:45 am, officers responded to the 4400 block of Floral Park Road for a single-car collision. Herrera was the driver and sole occupant of the car. He died at the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance in locating a suspect wanted for a fatal shooting in 2020. An arrest warrant for 34-year-old Dayvon Gordon was obtained shortly after the murder of 22-year-old Andre Lamont Cox Jr., in Landover. Extensive efforts to locate Gordon have so far been unsuccessful. His last known address was in Washington, DC.

On October 27, 2020, officers responded to the 3200 block of 75th Avenue for a shooting. The victim was located outside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He died a short time later.

Through various investigative techniques, two suspects were identified, to include Dayvon Gordon. The second suspect was arrested shortly after the shooting.

Since the murder, detectives have followed multiple leads in an attempt to locate Gordon. It’s believed he is being assisted by an individual(s) in his efforts to evade arrest.

On June 28, 2026, at approximately 12:50 am, officers responded to Woodyard Road and Pine View Lane for a crash involving one car. Mathis, the driver and sole occupant, died at the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed Mathis was heading northbound on Woodyard Road near Pine View Lane, when for reasons now under investigation, she appeared to have lost control and ultimately struck multiple trees.

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting at a community center in Langley Park. The victim is 16-year-old Angel Guzman of Silver Spring. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime. A cash reward is being offered for information related to this ongoing case.

On June 26, 2026, at approximately 1:30 pm, officers with the Maryland-National Capital Park Police, Prince George’s County Division, and Prince George’s County Police officers responded to the Langley Park Community Center in the 1500 block of Merrimac Drive for the report of an unresponsive male. The victim was located outside suffering from a gunshot wound(s). He died at the scene.

PGPD Homicide Unit detectives are actively working to determine a motive and identify a suspect(s).

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision that occurred Thursday in Suitland. The deceased passenger is 79-year-old Ann Carol Taylor of Fort Washington.

On June 25, 2026, at approximately 6:30 pm, officers responded to Pennsylvania Avenue and Spaulding Avenue for the report of a collision involving two cars.

The preliminary investigation revealed the two cars collided in the intersection. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Taylor died of her injuries several hours later at a hospital. The two involved drivers suffered injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

Suspect in Custody in Connection With Fatal Shooting at MGM Parking Garage

The suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting at the exit of the parking garage at the MGM National Harbor Hotel and Casino is in custody. The suspect is 36-year-old Tyrell Hairston of Accokeek. The victim is 33-year-old Christopher Austin, Jr., of Alexandria, VA.

On June 25, 2026, at approximately 11:10 pm, officers responded to the report of a crash in the area of Monument Avenue and MGM National Avenue. Once on scene, officers discovered the victim inside of his slingshot autocycle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect and victim were both in the exit line at the parking garage. Preliminarily, it appears the suspect initiated an argument with the victim. Hairston then exited his vehicle, approached the victim in his slingshot autocycle and shot him. Following the shooting, the victim drove away and crashed nearby.

Shortly after the shooting, the suspect called 911 and turned himself in. He’s in the custody of the Department of Corrections. At this time, there is no indication that the suspect and the victim knew each other prior to their interaction at the garage exit.

Two Teenagers in Custody for Fatal Shooting in Town of Brentwood

Prince George’s County Police Department Homicide Unit detectives identified and charged two teenagers in connection with a recent fatal shooting that occurred in the town of Brentwood. The suspects are both 16 years old and are from Mount Rainier. They are charged as adults with the murder of 16-year-old Ruben Arevalo Saavedra of Hyattsville.

On June 12, 2026, at approximately 4:55 pm, officers responded to a shooting in the 3700 block of Shepherd Street. Officers located the victim outside suffering from a gunshot(s) wound. He died at the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed the suspects shot the victim in connection with an on-going dispute. The victim and suspects were known to each other. On Thursday, the PGPD’s Fugitive Unit, which is part of the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, arrested the suspects.

The suspects are both charged with first and second degree murder and related offenses. They are in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

Suspect in Custody in Connection With Fatal Stabbing

Anthony Joseph Key

The suspect wanted for a fatal stabbing Wednesday evening in Oxon Hill is in custody. He is 38-year-old Anthony Joseph Key of Washington, DC. He’s charged with the murder of 44-year-old Corye Trapp of Oxon Hill.

On June 24, 2026, at approximately 6:35 pm, officers responded to the unit block of Audrey Lane for a stabbing. The victim was located outside of a business suffering from multiple stab wounds. He died a short time later at a hospital.

With the assistance of the PGPD’s Real Time Crime Center, responding patrol officers located Key in the 4900 block of Indian Head Highway. The suspect ran from officers but was quickly apprehended in the 4600 block of Livingston Road SE in Washington, DC. He remains in custody in Washington, DC, pending extradition to Prince George’s County. The PGPD appreciates the assistance of the Metropolitan Police Department.

The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect stabbed the victim during an argument. At this time, there is no indication they were known to each other prior to the stabbing. Key is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges.

2024 MGM Parking Garage Fatal Shooting Suspect in Custody

Dayon Neal

The suspect wanted in connection with a 2024 fatal shooting in the parking garage at the MGM National Harbor Hotel and Casino is now in custody. He is 28-year-old Dayon Neal of no fixed address. He’s charged with the murder of 37-year-old Daniel Antonio Thomas of Washington, DC.

On May 11, 2024, at approximately 4:50 am, PGPD officers responded to the 100 block of MGM National Avenue after MGM Special Police and Security reported a shooting. The victim was located in the parking garage suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several days after the murder, through various investigative techniques, Neal was identified as the suspect and a warrant was obtained for his arrest. On Monday, the PGPD’s Fugitive Unit, which is part of the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, located and arrested Neal in Charles County. The PGPD appreciates the assistance of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office in this arrest.

The investigation revealed the suspect and victim did not know each other prior to the shooting. The motive remains under investigation.

Neal is charged with first and second degree murder and related offenses. He’s in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

The Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Friday night. The victim is 18-year-old Daijah Cherry of Washington, DC. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On June 19, 2026, at approximately 11:05 pm, officers responded to a shooting in the 1400 block of Doewood Lane in the unincorporated section of Capitol Heights. The victim was located outside suffering from a gunshot wound(s). She died a short time later at a hospital.

Investigators are working to identify the suspect(s) and determine a motive.

PGPD Arrests Suspect in Temple Hills Fatal Shooting

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit identified and charged a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting in Temple Hills in late April. The suspect is 51-year-old William Jolly of Clinton. He’s charged with murdering 38-year-old Juanita Frazier of Washington, DC.

On April 28, 2026, at approximately 10:15 pm, officers with Maryland-National Capital Park Police - Prince George’s County Division and the PGPD responded to Oxon Run Community Park for the report of an unresponsive woman. Frazier was located in a parking lot suffering from a gunshot(s) wound. She died at the scene.

Through various investigative techniques, detectives identified Jolly as the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest. On Friday, the PGPD’s Fugitive Unit, which is part of the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, located and arrested Jolly in his home in Clinton.

The preliminary investigation revealed Jolly drove Frazier to the Oxon Hill Community Park before shooting her and leaving the area. The motive remains under investigation.

Jolly is charged with first and second-degree murder and related charges. He’s in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

The Prince George’s County Police Department investigates all homicides that occur in the jurisdiction of Maryland-National Capital Park Police - Prince George’s County Division.
