Finally we have a big competition for all the Gunpla modelers here in Europe. For years we have been waiting for Bandai to do an official BAKUC -or whatever it's called now- and with no succes. One of the members of MAC, - now moderator- Kamm has gone trhough the trouble to set up a competition catered solely to the European Gunpla modelers. He managed to convince HLJ to sponsor the contest with some sweet prizes!

It's been awhile again since I posted something, so here it goes

I started working on a little dio for my old IJ. The reason is that i wanted to practice some more on my diorama skills and weathering skills.

So it seems as i've forgotten that i even have a blog.........
The main reason for this is the fact that school has really been asking alot of my time lately. After studying for tests nad writing reports there's hardly any time left for gunpla. I did get some progress on my 00 Gundam but was to lazy to blog about it xD

I've also been thinking about more videos to put on my YouTube channel, as it is quite bare at the moment.
Anyways, here's a little update on the 00 for you guys.

As 'm too lazy to link every individual image, i'll just link you to my thread at MAC :D

Some dio progress

So, i wake up and see that the tissues are still soft and wet and figured that it wouldn't work. Went to find some wallpaper glue. I then dipped some newspapers into the glue and layered it on the dio.

I also made some glue-sand mixture and added it to the dio to make some ground.

Diorama time

So i finally have some time to do some modeling this weekend, originally, i was planning to work some more on my 00 but i changed my mind and decided to make a dio for my recently finished Gelgoog. I'd planned to do this someday anyway.

SO, i took a tile that i found in the basement, added some trash to get a mountain structure and covered it with paper-mache to try and give it some nice rough texture....

How to make welding lines

First I want to say that this isn’t the only or best way to do this; I’m simply showing the way I did it.

1.What you’ll need

Epoxy putty ( it doesn’t have to be milliput, just make sure it’s the kind that’s a bit like clay since that’s much easier to handle)

Hobby knife (or any other flat thin object that you can use to shape the milliput)

2.Mixing and shaping your putty

Take a little bit of each stick and mix them together like the way the instructions tell you to.
When your epoxy is all mixed and ready to use, roll it on a flat and preferably clean surface until it looks like a sausage.

3.Preparing your parts

When you’re applying the weld line on a place where there is normally a panel line, it won’t be a problem, but if you’re trying to get it on a surface that is normally flat, I’d suggest carving a panel line first.

4.Applying the weld line

Take your epoxy sausage, cut off the appropriate length and put it where you want it. If you’re not working on a big scale kit, your sausage will probably be a bit too thick. Use your finger or a satay stick (or a toothpick) to push the epoxy putty in place so that it sticks to the surface.

Then take your knife and gently cut off the excess putty until you feel the size is good. Now take your hobby knife and use the blunt side to push in the indents so that it looks like it’s welded on.

Let the epoxy cure and voila, you have a nice looking weld line.

It's done!

I htink this is one of my fastest builds. It took me about 3 weeks to finish this kit and, IMO, it turned out pretty nice. It's my best kit untill now :D.

Base kit: Gelgoog Jäger

Mods:

-Added armor plates with welding lines on the shoulders, front skirts and side skirts

-Extended the front skirts and added vents on them

-Added vents on the shoulders

-Added thrusters on the back skirt

-Scribe new panellines on the legs, back skirt and upper arms

-SB a new head because i lost the original one...

-Move those guns on the forearms and used them as thrusters on the legs

-Use electrical wires as tubing on the legs and backpack

-SB the "sleeves" for the Neo Zeon feel

-SB the fully articulated claw

This was airbrushed with Reeves acrylic paint and topcoated with Future+Flat base.

Weathering was done with pastels and drybrushing.

Little update

Have been busy putting basecoat on the Gelgoog and finilazing the mods. I noticed that i forgot to wetsand my parts before i painted them, so i had to remove all the paint again and sand it so that all those ugly scratches wouldn't show....

Anyways, for the sake of having some updates:

Experiment with lead pencil:

The left is just black basecoat,

i brushed graphite powder i scraped off of my pencil on the right one. I'm pretty satisfied with the result, it has a gunmetal-ish look to it. I think the result will be even better if my basecoat was flat instead of semigloss...

What do you guys think about it?

Time for an update!

I've begun painting some of the parts and i'm finalizing some mods....

Scribed some panellines and added some new thrusters to the backskirt:

Made the sleeve for 1 arm (you'll understand why later :) ....... )

Finished the knee covers:

(the other is also done, just not in the pic)

The head just needs some touch ups and a monoeye

My plan is to finish the mods by sunday and then i'll take about a week to paint it all.

So it's been awhile since i update on my Gelgoog.

First i wanted to wish everyone a happy newyear :D

The updates:

Added some armor plates with welding lines to simulate the fact that the suit isn't up to date with the suits in UC0096.

AAlso extended the front skirts and added some vents:

Some tubes and a thruster on the leg, it looked a bit plain....

Guess what?

New project! :D

Damn i should really finish my other projects......

I had painted the Gelgoog before but it was just an AB practice and i was planning to redo it al along.

Concept: Neo Zeon found an old Gelgoog suit in the space wreckage, seeing that the Gelgoog was in a pretty good state, they decided to reapair it and equip it with their new experimental weapon...

So what i'm planning to do is add those sleeves and chest plate like the neo zeon suits in unicorn, add some detailings and give it some extra weapons.

What i've done already:

Finnaly got some time to work on this again.

I scribed some panellines... still getting the hang of scribing...

As you may notice in the pics, I'm trying to mod the foot so that it can bend a bit.

If you noticed, yes I changed the name. I didn't really like the sound of PP....

I won't be working on this for a while because exmas are coming up and I have to concentrate on studying. I may work a little bit on it, but not so much that it would be worth updating. I will resume working on this after the exams.

It just started snowing the other day here in Belgium!! :D
The snow came suprisingly early this year. It caught everyone off guard this morning, so everyone got stuck in traffic....
The strange thing about snow is, it makes people happy. Even though it's freezing cold....

Anyways, if you were looking for some updates on my 00: I worked a bit on the chest and will probably post some pics soon. But exams start in a few days so I have to study, which means I won't have time for any gunpla.

Double 0 ver.Ph WIP 1

As you may or may not noticed, ver.PP stand for version PhantomPain. It is a kind of name that is used to designate that you have customised the model to your own style.

This is the first time that I'll be simply changing a few design aspects, but trying to keep the overall feel and look.
Not like my Dom where i didn't keep the overall feel and look or my Destiny where I didn't really change alot to the design.

Here goes:

I did most of the mods on one side first, so the difference is visible.

I enlarged the lower red part, in my opinion, the 00 was way too skinny looking. It could be because the desingers were compensating for those ridiculously large addons on the shoulders... But I won't be using those anyway....

Laslty, somethign I've been thinking about:

First I wanted solid blades, but then I realized that i wouldn't want them to stick out all the time, so I went with beam sabers.

I seem to have started the habit of starting alot of projects and not finishing any of them, something I notice that alot of other modelers do too. I wonder if everyone does it....

Anyways, my new project will be a diorama featuring a 1/144 Tieren and a 1/144 00 Gundam.
The Tieren will be modified to a GN Tieren and the 00 will just get some new weapons and backpack and some aestethic mods. At the moment I'm thinking about a forest as dio, maybe with a small military base...
