Net Neutrality can best be described in the sense that all information flowing on the internet should be treated equal. There are many different things that can be said on both sides of the issue. There are many different metaphors that can be used to describe how the internet should be. I do believe that internet is like a freedom of speech, but needs to be monitored to an extent.

In the video "The Internet @ Risk", Moyers spoke too many people about their views on the subject. I think that the internet is like any other service. One example that was used was electricity. It doesn't discriminate on the devices plugged into the grid, it just provides power. The thing is, the more electricity you use, the more you are going to pay. The power flows at the same rate, but you are going to pay for the consumption. If you rent a room, you will have to pay more for the better suites. There are many more examples that can be said.

The concept is an ISP wants to charge a user twice, basically when consumers get on the network and then along the network. It’s like a toll both. It does make sense to charge someone for faster speeds, but maybe that is because that is what has been going on for as long as I can remember. Right now I get about 3 mb/s. I could pay an extra $20-$30 to get faster speed, but I don’t really want to do that. Especially when I know people else where are paying the same price I am, but have almost 100 times the speed.

The Bottom line is the ISP's need to bring down their charges and provide a better infrastructure like they promised back in the 1990’s. If you Google which countries have better technology, you will see that the USA is following down fast. Something definitely needs to be done.

One more thing, I normally don't like the government getting involved in a lot or personal stuff, but I think it was a great idea for the perish in Louisiana to take the lead with installing fiber because Cox and Bell South weren't. I know that it is probably impossible for the whole nation to do the same thing, but we have the FCC and other similar organizations for that reason.

So yes we need equal internet. But my equal isn't the same as "net neutrality". It is more of not letting the ISP think they are God of the internet. I agree in the fact that if I want to be faster, then I expect to pay more. That is how it works in the auto industry. So make it equal to an extent, but we also need to make sure that there aren't any terrorist out there making a blog and using it to get others to collaborate together on the US soil to do us damage, now if it was for some other country...won’t name any...then whatever don't care. Those countries should have thought about helping America like we did them.

Hey all!

So just letting you know that there is going to be all sorts of different things on this blog.
