&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;The initial range of products had been researched and selected by Alison based on her extensive experience in the weddings market. While standard on-white product shots were required she wanted to also show some of the products in-situ to give customers a better feel for how the product will look on their special day. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;When shooting we had to consider the material they were made from, flat lighting would not show up the sheen of the satin so we used a lighting setup to show off the reflective nature of the products. Each product was shot isolated on-white and then in-situ and used together to give a rounded impression of what a customer can expect.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;The cravats were shot on white showing the whole product then shot on a mannequin with a shirt and neutral waistcoat to show how it would look when worn. The handkerchiefs were shot folded neatly and then in a pocket of a suit jacket to show how the colours and patterns would look. These additional images provide the customers with more information to make their choice and represents the products how they will be used rather than simply as isolated items on a white background.&lt;br /&gt;

One of the most satisfying personal shoots is of course the opportunity to try a side of portraiture I have not ventured into in the studio before. I offered to photograph my beautiful 8 week old Niece Neve, I had no experience photographing babies previously but I was eager to try and make some nice pictures for my brother and his partner. After a little research and some shopping for props I had a 30 minute window to photograph Neve before she became restless and hungry. I wanted a soft gentle look to the shots and to make them something they can keep forever. &amp;nbsp;The results were one very happy brother and some new skills that can be applied to my portraiture service and one clear reward was capturing Neve&#39;s very first smiley picture.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Outside of the studio I often visit Newcastle City Centre to explore the life of the city, I will spend hours observing, shooting, meeting and talking to interesting people. I often come back with images that surprise me, sometimes they show positive aspects of city life and other times I capture events that highlight the issues of the day. I develop my skills in reportage, portraiture and of course valuable social skills, but the best thing is meeting and talking to people who always have interesting stories to tell.&lt;br /&gt;

Every time I pick up the camera personally I learn something new that is transferable to the business, either directly or in-directly. Every shoe design had very different elements to consider when photographing them, the patent leather products were highly reflective meaning the reflections had to be created to show the finish of the shoe without distracting the viewer too much or reflecting the studio, camera or other surrounding elements. The t-bar shoes had to sit right without being supported, which is extremely difficult to achieve considering the suppleness of the thin leather straps. PHP was approached to photograph a unique Travelodge Hotel building in the centre of Cambridge which turned out to be quite a challenge.&lt;br /&gt;

While the interior of the building will be familiar to many the exterior was completely unique and it&#39;s position within the city provided its own problems when trying to shoot images that matched the architects visuals as requested by the client.&lt;br /&gt;

Regular client Merchant Place Developments approached the studio with a view to photographing a building that had just been completed for Travelodge Hotels in the stunning city of Cambridge. The hotel is to-date the largest Travelodge outside of the capital and it&#39;s unique design incorporates custom artwork, photovoltaic panels and other architectural features you would generally not normally find on a Hotel of this type.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The brief was simple; to photograph the building from a similar point of view as the architects visual (below) and capture other standard and interesting features including the custom glass art, every elevation should be represented with interiors and plant rooms included in the shot list. The photography had to be completed within a 2 week window and delivered for use in marketing and promotional material in this time. The final building had changed in material and some design elements had also changed but the overall concept had remained.&lt;br /&gt;

Planning for the project was tricky, the UK weather refused to co-operate and there was only one window of good weather that would provide the light and drama the client wanted. In addition the position of the building was problematic, it was positioned on a main road which was extremely busy all day and the layout was in the process of being changed. This meant that road cones were apparent all over and they could not be moved for safety and public liability reasons.&lt;/div&gt;

The building is north facing meaning that the shot most requested would be best lit at 5:30 - 6:30 am just after sunrise which worked well with the met office prediction of blue skies until lunch time and the warm sunrise light would enhance the colour of the stone and woodwork.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;

The above image was the main shot requested by the client, unfortunately there were road works with 14 unsightly road cones covering the traffic island under the traffic lights, these were tricky to remove in photoshop but after some work it was completed which ensured the viewers attention would be on the building rather than the road works.&lt;br /&gt;

In total over 50 high resolution interior, exterior and detail images were delivered via online drop box within two days of the shoot together with low resolution files suitable for email and web use. With permission from their client, Design249 sent the product designs and associated information relating to the use of my photograph in their design work. The label design intent was to capture the &quot;natural&quot; or &quot;pure&quot; quality of the yogurt (only two ingredients, milk and culture) and, since the company also makes vegan foods, let potential customers understand visually and immediately that it was a dairy product. &amp;nbsp;Design249 wanted it to be distinctive from any other yogurt else on the shelf, but still traditional and inviting. &amp;nbsp;The final design incorporated a composite image which projected the appropriate values and consisted of two images.&lt;/div&gt;

The studio was graced with the lovely aroma of beautiful organic teas once more when expanding tea brand Storm Tea visited the studio again for more product shots (and they left a load here for us too!!).&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The lovely people at Storm Tea first came to the studio in 2009 with their first tea products and packaging for photography that would help them launch the brand. The team knew that the photographs produced by PHP would in most cases be the very first contact customers would have with their product and brand, so the images were critical to the success of the marketing.&lt;br /&gt;

Walker Technology College has seen many changes recently. The College has moved premises to a large purpose built site and have set up Academic Awards to celebrate the students that go above and beyond what is expected of them.&lt;br /&gt;
