I have now paid dues to the local club good for a whole year. I flew the north side of point of the mountain and boy was it crowded. The launch is only about 300 feet high and the idea is to bench up to the upper ridge for easier flying. I could not do it. There was just too much traffic on the ridge. This may have been a great site once upon a time but in my opinion there are too many pilots now for this to be a great site. I had a good landing at the bottom after about 20 minutes on the ridge. If I fly again tomorrow then it will hopefully be when fewer people are flying. They said to be there at 6:30 in the morning.

Utah Lake State Park

Well, we have finally made it to Utah! we are staying at the Utah Lake State Park and there are very few camp sites taken. I haven't seen any other children here and the playground is really pitiful.

It got really windy while we were setting up the tent and I thought that the storm might ruin our tent. It is not staked down very well because it is set up on a concrete pad and there is nothing to stake it directly to. thankfully the wind stopped and now we can cook supper in peace.

While Loretta was cooking supper, Rebecca and I went around the camping loop several times so that she could "burn off some energy". Rebecca is really acting hyper today. The very last time we went around the loop, she was almost attacked by a dog that was chained to a fence post and we did not see until it was too late. Luckily Rebecca veered away just in the nick of time and the chain was too short to reach the other side of the road. I had a talk with the dog owner later about controlling his animal and he took it rather well. I am thankful that Rebecca did not overreact to the near miss.

There is a very nice jogging trail just on the other side of the campground. It is paved and very scenic. I hope to take Rebecca on a bike ride there in the morning to burn off a little more energy.

Happy Birthday

<img src="http://www.movedigital.com/go/bullmorgan/83998/Rebecca.pct" class="audImg"border="0" alt="this is an Video post - click to play" />
130 MB Quicktime video file!
Rebecca is one year old and gets a chocolate mess all over her face. Well, anyway I am still trying to figgure out this blogging thing. I have four blogs going and originally I wanted them all to be audio blogs. I even had RSS feeds set up for them. Unfortunately, the feeds do not seem to work properly. My iTunes doesn't seem to know that they exist! I suppose that the best thing for me to do right now is to forget that the RSS feeds even exist and just start writing. Writing is an age tested method of communicating with other people. It may be a good way to prevent my mind from going stale also.
I am enjoying reading about people's adventures down in Florida for the Flytec meet. This is a hanggliding event where people get to have long xc flights almost every day. Some years the flying is good every day. This year they had to miss one day due to bad weather. It was too windy. Mark Stump was in the news today because he was the only one not to make goal! hopefully, I won't read about him in this light again.
Well, that is all for now. It has stopped raining and is a good time to go for a walk on Mt. Nebo.

<img src="http://www.audioblogger.com/media/images/audioblogger.gif" class="audImg"border="0" alt="this is an audio post - click to play" />

<img src="http://www.audioblogger.com/media/images/audioblogger.gif" class="audImg"border="0" alt="this is an audio post - click to play" />

Tuesday and WednesdayPagosa Day 6 and 7

We went hiking on both days and now David tells me that he has had enough and we must take a break from hiking on Thursday. Loretta and David both want to take a ride but I am not sure that I want to fork out the cash.
I have high speed internet access now at the Higher Ground coffee shop within walking distance of our room. Tommorow we will complete our journey and arrive at Pagosa. We hit a large Thunderstorm in Oklahoma City and decided to slow down when I saw 5 separate cars either slammed into a guard rail or stuck in the median. They appear to have lost control after hydroplaning. I hydroplaned once during a hangglider trip to Florida while driving an SUV. It was no fun and I too took the wrong response ending up in the median.
I have wireless internet here at the Microtel Inn and am very happy with the room. I wouldn't mind spending the entire vacation in a room like this one. After all, David and I survived last week staying in a tent in rainy conditions. I would probably appreciate any airconditioned room.

<img src="http://www.audioblogger.com/media/images/audioblogger.gif" class="audImg"border="0" alt="this is an audio post - click to play" />

<img src="http://www.audioblogger.com/media/images/audioblogger.gif" class="audImg"border="0" alt="this is an audio post - click to play" />

Hello World

This is my third blog and like the other two, it will probably be an audio blog.
