I was about to return this phone because Verizon wanted a $45 data plan just to activate it; then I read the brilliant comments by Chuck Homic.

Opening the package, I saw the ESN/MEID HEX printed on the box. I held down the power button until the PALM light lit up on-screen. It took a while for it to boot up. The phone tried twice to call Verizon and activate itself, to no avail.

On another phone, I called the Page Plus Cellular toll-free number and gave them the Pixi's MEID and the phone number that I wanted ported from my active, prepaid Verizon phone. They gave me a 'Premier Package' 6-digit activation code to dial from Pixi, and said that Verizon is usually quick to release your old number and to call back when they have done so.

It took about an hour or so that the old cell number stopped ringing the old phone, indicating that it had been ported.

I bought this Palm Pixi Plus to replace a failing Palm Pre Plus. My biggest complaint about the Pre Plus was its keyboard, it was hard to use, and keys often failed. It was my third Pre, and I still have time on my contract, so even though I want to switch to an Android based phone, I chose to go with this because the price (where as an Android phone would be much more expensive).

Positives:
So far, my experience with the Palm Pixi Plus has been much better than the Palm Pre Plus. The hardware seems to be built a little better (no sliding moving parts), the keyboard is much easier to use and is responsive (however, my "R" key needs to be pushed a little harder than the others to respond. Even though it "clicks", it won't type until you press just a little bit more. Still MUCH better than my Pre.) I like the size of the Pixi better than the Pre as I'm not a fan of having a huge smart phone.

Nice phone, The OEM Shop stinks!
This item advertised as new was not in manufacturers packaging, also included no manuals. Entered ##786# to find out if phone is truly new as-advertised. It is not, it's a refurb that I could have gotten cheaper elsewhere. I ordered the Palm Pixi Plus and the Stereo Headphones together but didn't receive headphones, emailed The OEM Shop, 5 days later. no response. Called their listed # 718-362-2255 and it's out of service. Just noticed that only one speaker is working. You get what you pay for but I paid for new. I think I lost $55 here as I'm afraid to return and wind up losing all I have to show for this deal which is the refurbed semi-functional phone. Given the ethics of The OEM Shop I wonder if should worry about having my identity stolen when using this device.

The LG-E510g is a great phone. I purchased it for use in Mexico. Once I inserted my sims card, I was on my way to making and receiving calls. I had a problem with internet connection using the phone. Which was resolved by a visit to the local cell phone provider here in Mexico. Wifi works as it should, with no problems connecting with open networks. Two problems the camera has no flash, and the battery life drains fast. Bit of a bummer but other wise nice phone.

I just posted a review on the s390G tracfone. It's on it's way back to the seller. I had it less than a day, enough said on that, if you read the review, you will see what I am talking about. Now enter the S425G. I have had a tracfone like this one in the past so I knew what I was getting into, I wanted the triple minutes for life option on a good phone. Texting is very easy on this phone, It has a slide out keyboard which I find is very easy to type on, though I am still partial in my head to a keyboard just being on the face of the phone, this is the next best thing. One different thing with this phone is, if you want to use your head phones to listen to the built in music player that this phone has, you will need an adapter, there is no 3.5mm jack. The adapter is a mini USB to 3.5mm and I have ordered one. The ringer options are good, entering contacts is easy. No Problems there. Purchase this phone for my teenage son so he could text easier and he is very happy with how easy it is to use. Can't beat the price. Got it at Target on sale for $35.99, rolled over minutes from his old TracFone(extremely fast and easy to do online)and in less than 10 min. he was good to go. It's not a apple phone etc. but then he wasn't interested in paying for monthly service and this phone does what he wants it to do. Thanks TracFone

The phone works fine.
That said, you notice very little information on this phone, that's because they hope you make the same assumptions as me...this has NO hands free speakerphone...I assumed that most phones had this.
Additionally, you can only put in a single phone number in the Contacts, very limiting...again I assumed more.
This phone comes with a sim card that is unreadable, so you will not be able to set it up until they send you another one.
This seems like a great deal - for the price of a 1year card, you also get a phone...and it is.
The phone sounded fine, so if the above is not important to you ...jump on this.

I got this and was definitely surprised by the quality. Its very solid and feels just like a brand name phone. The MTK6575 processor is very solid and overall the phone had scored a 3656 on the Antutu Benchmark, it would have scored higher however the SD Card I had in scored low. The only negative I have for this phone is that I still have yet to be able to get the 3G working on the Straight Talk Sim network. The APN settings that Straight Talk gives you did not work with this phone.

So overall, the phone itself is good quality, battery lasted all day with heavy use on WIFI. Screen comes pre-installed with a cover. Once I get the 3G working I will be very happy with this phone.

UPDATE: Okay so I have had the phone now for 2 weeks and am now able to give you a good update.

HOORAY!! I was able to get the 3G to work by playing with the APN settings more. Straight Talk says to create a new APN and delete the old one if possible. Well the original APN is... Read more

The speed of the delivery was blazing fast. I ordered it friday and got it Monday. Opened the package and the box is pretty kewl even. The phone is much faster then my pre paid LG Thrive. I Love the large screen and all the features. Everything seems to be in perfect working order. I may be writing this review a bit to soon I just got it yesterday. I wanted to thank Amazon and the seller for the price the speed of the delivery and so far the quality of the phone. I think I have tried most things out on it and both the front and rear camara's work very well with very good picture quality. I just popped my old AT&T prepaid sim card and my 32 gig memory stick in it and within a few minutes I was able to use the phone. It configured itself perfectly. Now I need to see if I can find a large protective case for it as I'm very clumsy and need the extra protection.. Thanks again.
