Though the Sprint BlackBerry Tour is the most talked-about Sprint smartphone these days, there are other RIM phones too in Sprint’s lineup, such as the 8330 and the 8350i. We know you may not want to care less about anything other than the Tour, we bring you interesting info on the other two phones in Sprint’s shed.

News is that Sprint will soon be launching an “Inferno Orange” 8330 model and a red 8350i. Now, this sounds like two absolutely shocking colors for the usually very suave and stylish BlackBerry devices. We truly have to wonder just how popular or unpopular they might turn out to be in a market that expects business phones to look like business phones, and not some fancy device!

Ok, here’s the howler of this week, guys. We always knew that Bell would be the official carrier for the Palm Pre in Canada. Now Bell has introduced its new “You Could Win A 3G Palm Pre Contest”, which will supposedly give away a Palm Pre to one lucky participant. Of course, this is great – getting your hands on a Palm Pre, that too free, is almost too good to imagine. But there’s something hilarious that happened here.

When you visit the page that gives you the entry rules, it opens a PDF document that, on the header is a picture of the Palm Treo Pro and not the Palm Pre. Click here to go to that page and you’ll know what we’re talking about.

There is one more thing here. The contest rules state that the “approximate retail value” of the device is $650 CDN. So we can probably assume that this device will cost $649.95 outright, for an unlocked version of the smartphone. Click here if you want more info on the contest. This one goes on till August 31st. Go ahead and try your luck, guys!

The latest introduction from LG Electronics, the LG GW300, looks suave enough to pass off as a lower-end smartphone, but hey, don’t you guys get fooled by its looks. This is actually just another mobile phone, without even the slightest bit of a smartphone’s usual traits.

The good thing about this device, though, is that it comes with an integrated Facebook client, so it will keep all teeny-boppers very happy. Other specs include 3G-free EDGE, 2.4” QVGA display, stereo Bluetooth and a full QWERTY keyboard for heavy texters. There is yet no info on the pricing or availability of this phone, but something tells us this is gonna become one hell of a popular device when it does enter the market.

Anyways, one good thing is that it looks a lot better than the higher-end Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone. The 5530 also has EDGE for the WWAN, relying on its Wi-Fi for transporting heavy data back and forth. No more info for now, so we shall bring it to you as it comes.

We sincerely hope SE changes their mind about bringing this phone to the market - it would be nothing short of committing professional suicide. Nothing else is known about this horrendous thing other than it is very, very different from the normally suave and stylish SE phones. Anyway, we will bring you more news as and when we get it. So stay tuned.

LG Electronics has officially announced that it is all set to show off its next-gen LG Chocolate feature phone in August. There are not many details on this one yet, but the company says that this new phone will be designed by the original Chocolate designing team and that it will be better off than the first-gen phone.

The company also stated that the 2nd generation Chocolate phone would use a unique display, so as to “maximize usability while inheriting the original minimalist-inspired style and iconic design,” to quote the statement verbatim. LG claims that it has sold 21million Chocolate handsets in 54 countries of the world. Anyway, we will hopefully let you know soon about this device.

We all knew that the latest Apple iPhone 3G S is capable of capturing video. What we didn’t know it that it could actually produce high quality music videos. Reyna Perez’s “Love Love Love” was jointly directly by her own fiancé, Ari Kuschnir. He got this novel idea when he was listening to Reyna’s music while toying around with his new iPhone 3G S.

As Ari Kuschnir heard the music on his new smartphone, he suddenly thought of featuring Reyna in her debut music video. We are sure they were many more people who used their phones to record a music video in the past, but we know for sure that this is the coolest of them all! Watch the video below and drop in your comments.

Now, we have received documents that state the latest feather in HTC’s cap, the AWS-equipped superphone, will not be anywhere in sight till August 12.

Hmm, this long wait is killing all of you guys, we know. But what can we do except sit and wait? Anyway, the myTouch 3G will launch shortly, so that should be interesting. Of course, this may or may not have caused competition for the former, but hey, launching late is something of an advantage for the Touch Pro2. Otherwise, how does this thingy get more prominence, right, folks?

The latest news from Samsung is that its massively impressive i7500 Galaxy is coming to O2 UK soon. The smartphone has already been lapped up by O2 in Germany and now it’s also entered Britain. The carrier has now officially confirmed that it will be promoting the Android-powered device.

The Samsung i7500 Galaxy will enter the UK market in August. O2 Germany is offering the smae at about $98 on contract, so though there is no pricing availability on the English one yet, we assume it would be around that same price range. You never know – they might even offer it free with some plan – imagination costs nothing after all, see?

Verizon’s LG enV line of phones has always been a big hit with texters, all thanks to the lovely QWERTY keyboards they also have. The enV2 VX9100 has been introduced a year back, but wasn’t stylish enough to catch attention. Now it’s the turn of the LG enV3 VX9200 to enter the market. Not only is it more stylish, but it also comes with a better keyboard, display and camera.

LG enV3 VX9200_1

The enV3 comes in Slate Blue and Maroon. It has more rounded edges than its predecessor and feels sturdy to hold. Both the external and internal displays are larger and there is a standard d-pad too. The buttons are bigger and give good feedback. There is also just one space key at the center instead of two on either side. This makes the keyboard feel a lot less cramped.

LG enV3 VX9200_2

All-in-all, the LG enV3 VX9200 is definitely a better model than the earlier ones in the same line. Worth taking a look, definitely. We will be posting a video on this one very soon. So check in again soon.

We had told you about the LG GD910 a long time back and expected to bring you the news of the release of this unique watch-phone. Now, it seems that this product could be hitting the UK first. Some online sources claim that this device will be released by Orange somewhere in August this year.

The LG GD910 watch-phone is said to include 3G, touch UI, Bluetooth speaker and even a Web browser. The device, it is additionally believed, will come on a Pay-as-you-go SIM-free plan. The shocking thing here, though , is the price one will have to cough up to own this one. This piece is said to be priced at £1000, something which we find difficult to digest.
We sure hope the news about the price is not true, else this cutie is just gonna be left waiting in the stands, literally!

RIM, forever on the lookout for creating something innovative, has now added a link from mobile.blackberry.com, which opens a mobile-friendly version of its support forums. Of course, this is the initial stage, so RIM has to continue to work on it, but on the whole, the company has definitely succeeded in its mission.

Right now, though, the topic titles seem to be cut off and it becomes very tough to make out what each topic is saying. But we are sure the makers of the BlackBerry smartphone will get around that problem soon. Goto mobile.blackberry.com from your smartphone’s browser and follow the link to the forums.

The original Samsung Glyde did not really cause much of a clamor in the mobile market. But the phone seems to be second-time lucky. Now blurry photos of the Glyde 2, also called the u960, have featured online. This one looks far better than its predecessor.

The QWERTY keyboard of the Glyde 2 looks more spacious that makes better use of the bottom part. There is also the usual TouchWiz to be seen on the screen. What amazed us was the big Verizon logo just above the display screen. There is still no news about when this one might be released. We sure will let you know as and when the news peters in. Look at the pic below and tell us what you think of it.

What really impressed us about the phone, though, is its 3” QVGA resolution screen, that comes with big-sized dot matrix display, that is bound to thrill one and all with its retro looks. As is usual will all of Pantech’s SKY-branded cuties, this one also may enter markets outside Korea.

You guys may recall that the Palm Pre was supposed to debut in the UK last week. But there is no sign of it arriving there yet. Residents of the UK are still waiting impatiently for news of the iPhone contender hitting the markets out there.

There is rumor, though, that the Palm Pre smartphone will make its grand entry in that region sometime next week. But we can say nothing for sure yet. One thing cloying our minds is, “who is going to be the official carrier for the device?” We are betting on O2 at the moment.

Of course, there are those other lovelies just waiting to be picked up too, like the HTC Hero, iPhone 3G S, Samsung Jet and so on. If you guys were to choose, what would you go for?

Sprint has made a claim that it will be the very first carrier to be introducing 3G femtocell technology into the market. The company spokesman said that, just as it was the first to bring in 2G tech, it would also be the pioneer in 3G technology as well.

This claim comes close on the heels of AT&T releasing an announcement about the release of its 3G femtocell in the US, by 2009 end. Sprint, though, did not give any additional info about the price of the device or the rate of service plans.

Apple is now setting right an iPhone SMS bug, which could end up giving an attacker ready root access to important phone services. Taking advantage of this vulnerability, a hacker could easily monitor the iPhone user’s GPS acitivities, manipulate the smartphone’s mic and use it for eavesdropping or tinker with the system in general.

SMSs in this device are stored in the form of a binary code that are reassembled without the user being aware of it. Now, Charlie Miller, a security researcher, is working with Apple to set right the exploit.

There is certain other related news that Apple is planning to patent several of its latest mobile technologies, including fingerprint ID, RFID reader, tactile haptic feedback and so on.
