Dark Clouds are looming over the Gingerbread update for HTC Droid Incredible. Though HTC has been telling all the users users that an upgrade would bring the smartphone up to Android 2.3 Gingerbread was to be released sometime in summer – and this update is already very running late. The Most alarming news now is that the Update can be canceled as according to one HTC rep.

We’re still hoping to hear something official from the company, but in an e-mail conversation with one Incredible user who was inquiring about the update’s status, a rep wrote, “we only update our phones if it will provide an overall improved user experience as we balance features, performance and usability. Because of this, we will only be updating certain phones to Gingerbread. At this time, the Droid Incredible is not on that list.”

If that is true Droid Incredible might face the same fate as by HTC Desire Owners.

Software updates are meant to improve the stability of the Device. However Gingerbread Update for Kyocera Echo has been giving hard time to some users, there were reports that the Gingerbread Update bricked their Devices and Sprint was quick enough to halt the update. But now on 10 August they have resumed the Update for all the users and this time it won’t brick your device.

As the Update is over the Air it will take some time to be pushed to your Device, first starting from a small number of Users.

Facebook for Android has received an Update today in Android Market. This Update fixed a lot of bugs that were in the previous update. The most noticeable among them being the birthday of Your friends that disappeared because of the last update. But now its up working.
