How do I get paint in your color schemes?

You Chip It!!

There isn’t a day that goes by when I am not asked how to make paint swatches from my color schemes. With the help of Chip It it’s about as simple as it can be!

  1. The first thing you need to do is visit the website and install the Chip It button in your browser.
  2. Now that you’ve installed it you can visit the color palette on the PCB blog you which to turn into paint. I am going to use the scheme from 5.20.2013.
  3. Next you just hit the new Chip It button you installed in your toolbar!
  4. Now just click on the color palette.
  5. The tool generates a color scheme based on the image and you can head to your nearest Sherwin Williams and purchase paint to decorate your home or walls with!

Installing a Color Palette

Our new color palettes also feature a convenient swatch download compatible with Adobe products. These are a free tool I have added to the posts for you to make using the color swatches easier. They are compatible with Adobe graphic design programs and once you try them you will be hooked!

  1. Download the zip file from the color palette you’ve selected. Simply click the link in the post you want to use and save it to your computer. If you are having trouble right click the link and select save as.
  2. Unzip the file on your computer, your computer may do this for you.
  3. Once the file is unzipped drag the .ase file directly into the Adobe program you want to use it in, simple as that!
    or
    An alternate method of opening the swatch in Photoshop or AI is through the swatches tool box. Once you are in the swatches click the menu in the upper right hand corner and select load swatches.
