Artist creating these sculptures are often referred to as hyper realists. Some sculptures are enlarged in comparison with the original scale to accentuate the detail.

Evan Penny

Originally from South Africa and now residing in Toronto, the talented Mr. Penny makes sculptures look beyond realistic with their age spots, wrinkles and carefully implanted hair. His special effects have been featured in X-Men a

Large Murray

Panagiota: Conversation

Self

Ron Mueck

Ron Mueck (born 1958) is an Australian working in Great Britain. He is one of the most recognized names in photo realistic sculpturing. He also worked on special effects in the 1986 movie Labyrinth.

Mueck eventually established his own company in London specializing in making photo-realistic props and animatronics for the advertising industry. Although highly detailed, these props were usually designed to be photographed only one specific angle while hiding the mess of construction seen from the other side. Mueck's dream was to produce realistic sculptures which looked perfect from all angles.

Jamie Salmon

Vancouver based sculptor Jamie Salmon uses human hair to help accentuate his photo realistic sculptures.Together with fellow artist Jackie K.
