Cars Driven By The World's Richest People

With spots on Forbes' richest people list, these billionaires are going places.

But it turns out their favorite modes of transportation are as varied as the ways they got all that money in the bank to begin with.

One housewares entrepreneur drives a car that would sell for only about $1,500, while a certain software mogul could sell his car for $4.4 million. That's enough for four dream houses.

Some of these vehicles are stars on their own, while others are only notable because of the billionaire behind the wheel.

Carlos Slim Helu is the world's richest man, according to Forbes. The Mexican telecom giant drives himself to work in his Bentley Continental Flying Spur. But don't let his modest driving habit fool you: the price tag on the car is more than most houses at about $300,000.

Bill Gates' Porsche 959 Coupe is one of only 230 in the world. It took a federal law signed by then-president Bill Clinton to allow the billionaire to drive the car because there was no crash-test rating. The price for such a car? $225,000 when new, they now go for well over $400,000.

Alice Walton, heiress of the Wal-Mart fortune, is the second-richest woman in the world. But her car of choice is a simple 2006 Ford F-150 King Ranch. The trucks retail at around $40,000. With her DUI arrest last year, it might be better that she stick to inexpensive cars.

Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Alsaud, member of the Saudi royal family, drives a Rolls-Royce Phantom. The entry level version of the prince's car costs $246,000, while an upscale version a royal would surely need is a cool $447,000.

Ingvard Kamprad is the founder of Ikea and is worth an estimated $28 billion. But his ride of choice is as humble as the furniture he sells: a 1993 Volvo 240. If the car sold today, it would only be worth about $1500.

New York's mayor and financial data mogul Michael Bloomberg drives an Audi R8. The swanky car retails at $120,000 and goes from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds.

Billionaire Larry Ellison, founder of Oracle, is famous for his many cars. Among his most prestigious is this McLaren F1. In 1998, the car was declared the fastest ever to hit the road and its invention is seen as revolutionary. Production of the cars stopped that year and now they can fetch up to $4.1 million each.

Warren Buffett is one of the world's richest men, but his frugality is as well-known as his bank account. The investor drives a Cadillac DTS, which he purchased to support then-flailing American company General Motors. The car retails for around $45,000.

Mark Zuckerberg is often seen in a black Acura TSX. The young billionaire has among the cheapest of the rides: the car is valued at about $30,000.

Laptop mogul Michael Dell drives an edgy, 2004 Porsche Boxter. Although a new model could cost you well above $80,000, you could buy this model used for under $20,000.

Microsoft's Steve Ballmer is one of the world's richest men but went for a fairly modest car. He's seen here with the CEO of Ford, taking possession of the Hybrid Fusion. The car retails for about $19,000--well within the budget for a new family car.

Nike founder Phil Knight has a $120,000 Audi R8. Knight, however, went for a bolder approach and got a black model with a contrasting silver sideblade. A Nike employee snapped his car, seen here, at the company's headquarters in Oregon.

Super-rich clothier heir Francois-Henri Pinault shares this Lexus SUV with his gorgeous wife, Salma Hayek. New models run at about $40,000 without customizations.

Laurene Powell Jobs, widow of the legendary Apple founder Steve, drives a silver

Audi A5 that's often seen parked outside the family's home in Palo Alto. As a

billionaire, she can easily afford the $37,000 starting price.

Google tycoon Eric Schmidt has the most modest car of all: a Toyota Prius. The environmentally-friendly cars start at just $11,000. But don't expect it to last--Schmidt has often spoken about the automated cars of the future.

تمر ذكرى جريمة إحراق المسجد الأقصى. وما تزال الجريمة الصهيونية تحفر في الأذهان ذكرى أليمة في تاريخ الأمة المثخن بالجراح ، هي محطة ظلام كبيرة ووصمة عار لا تغسلها سوى جحافل التحرير المنتظرة لبيت المقدس.

ففي 2181969 قام الإرهابي اليهودي الأسترالي «دينيس مايكل» وبدعم من العصابات اليهودية المغتصبة للقدس بإحراق المسجد الأقصى المبارك في جريمة تعتبر من اكثر الجرائم ايلاماً بحق الأمة وبحق مقدساتها.

المجرم الأسترالي «دينيس مايكيل» قام بإشعال النيران في المسجد الأقصى، فأتت ألسنة اللهب المتصاعدة على أثاث المسجد المبارك وجدرانه ومنبر صلاح الدين الايوبي.. ذلك المنبر التاريخي الذي أعده القائد صلاح الدين لإلقاء خطبة من فوقه لدى انتصاره وتحرير لبيت المقدس، كما أتت النيران الملتهبة في ذلك الوقت على مسجد عمر بن الخطاب ومحراب زكريا ومقام الأربعين وثلاثة أروقة ممتدة من الجنوب شمالا داخل المسجد الأقصى.

كشفت كاميرا برنامج “أنا والعسل” عن فخامة منزل النجمة نانسي عجرم من خلال تقرير أظهر الرفاهية والمميزات التي يتمتع بها المنزل.
وأشارت نانسي الى أن منزلها الخاص يتضمن كل اللوازم الأساسية لحياة الفنان، من السينما وصالون التجميل والحلاقة والنادى الرياضى والمسبح لأنه من الصعب عليها الخروج من المنزل والعودة مساءا على حد قولها.
ووصف نيشان المنزل بالمملكة بينما قال المخرج باسم كريستو أن التقرير أقرب الى الاعلان منه الى المنزل نظرا الى الفخامة التي يتمتع بها.
من ناحية اخرى, اطربت عجرم المشاهدين باغنية “بكتب اسمك” للسيدة فيروز، كما قدمت مقتطفات حصرية من كليب “يا بنات” من ضمن البوم “سوبر نانسي” الجديد، حيث ظهرت عجرم الى جانب ابنتيها “ميلا” و”ايلا”.
وفي اتصال مع المخرجة ليلى كنعان، اكدت ان كليب “يا بنات” استغرق 7 اشهر من العمل ويتبقى اسبوعين للانتهاء منه مشيرة الى أن عجرم ستظهر بحلة جديدة في الكليب الجديد، وأكدت انها بعد هذا العمل قررت اعتزال الاخراج الغنائي، .

المريخ للبحث عن حياة

حبس العالم أنفاسه خلال الساعات الماضية عند اقتراب مركبة الفضاء كِريوسيتي Curiosity من سطح المريخ، حين اقترب موعد هبوط المركبة على سطح الكوكب الأحمر في الساعة 5:31 صباحاً بتوقيت جرينيتش

المثير في مهمة كِريوسيتي هذه المرة هو أنها أحد أكثر مهمات الفضاء تطوراً وإثارةً، حيث بلغت تكلفت المهمة 2.5 مليار دولار في رحلة استغرقت ثمانية أشهر ونصف قطعت فيها مسافة 566,000,000 كيلومتر !!
فما الذي سيكشفه لنا مسبار تكلف 2.5 مليار دولار؟!!

7 دقائق من الرعب:

7 دقائق هي الوقت الذي تحتاجه المركبة لتصل من أعلى غلاف المريخ حتى سطحه، ولتتصوروا مدى تعقيد عملية الهبوط شاهدوا هذا الفيديو:

أرسل الإنسان 16 مهمة للمريخ منذ سبعينات القرن الماضي، لكن 6 فقط منها نجحت في تنفيذ مهامها، وتشاهدون في الصورة التالية مقارنة بين حجم المركبات التي هبطت على المريخ في السابق (1997 و2004 على اليسار) والمركبة الجديدة التي هبطت حديثاً (على اليمين):

يقارب حجم المسبار كِريوسيتي حجم سيارة صغيرة ويزن حوالي 900 كيلوجرام، وهو بذلك أكبر الروبوتات التي يرسلها الإنسان للمريخ وأكثرها تطوراً.

المثير في مهمة المريخ أن الإشارة تستغرق 14 دقيقة لتقطع المسافة بين الأرض والمريخ. تخيل التحكم في جهاز يستغرق إرسال الأمر له 14 دقيقة ثم تنتظر 14 دقيقة لتعلم ما حدث ثم 14 دقيقة لترسل أمراً آخراً وهكذا ! .. أي أن المتحكم في الجهاز يرى الماضي ويرسل أمراً للمستقبل!!

على فوهة جيل:

إن سار كل شيء بدقة سيهبط المسبار كِريوسيتي على فوهة جيل Gale Crater، وهي فوهة عملاقة يبلغ عرضها 170 كيلومتر وتشكلت منذ 2.5 مليار سنة بسبب نيزك ضخم. ويظن العلماء أن كوكب المريخ حينها كان مغطى بالمحيطات والجو المعتدل قبل أن يصطدم به هذا المذنب المدمر.

هل نحن وحدنا في هذا الكون؟

سيبحث المسبار كِريوسيتي عن إجابة هذا السؤال لأن المنطقة التي سيهبط فيها مليئة بالصخور القديمة، ما سيعطي فرصة للعلماء للبحث عن دلائل حياة من خلال تحليل المكونات الكيميائية لهذه الصخور.

من المؤكد أنك تفاجأت و فرحت و تسائلت كثيراً كما تساءلت أنا قبلك (مع انني من الضفة الغربية) عن جمال و روعة فلسطين و القدس و الاقصى، و التي ربما قد شاهدتها لأول مرة في حياتك( بنظرة أعمق قليلا عما تعرفها) … و قد تكون أيضا قد تساءلت عن البعض من المناطق التي شاهدها في الفيلم .. لا تقلق سنشرح لك بعضها .

في البداية ما قد شاهدته هو بعض من المناطق التي توجد في فلسطين و التي تحت يد الاحتلال فما شاهدته في البداية الفيلم من الشواطئ، و المناطق السياحية، الاثرية، بحر الاردن، بحيرة طبريا، البحر الميت (معظمه) و جبل مسادا أو مسعد مع الاحتلال الصهيوني .

ربما تساءلت عن جبل مسادا أو مسعدة و هو اسم جبل يطل على الساحل الغربي للبحر الميت، شرقي منطقة النقب الصحراوية. ويبلغ علو قمة الجبل 450 متر فوق سطح البحر، ولكن لكونه مطل على منخفض البحر الميت(موقع إستراتيجي)، يمكن الإشراف منها على منطقة واسعة حوله، إذ يبلغ علو قمته نحو 850 متر فوق المنخفض .

و قد لاحظت أيضا جدار الفصل العنصري و هو عبارة عن جدار طويل و عالٍ بناه الصهاينة ليقسموا به الضفة الغربية عن الاراضي المحتلة بهدف منع دخول سكان الضفة الغربية الى الاراضي الاخرى داخل الخط الاخضر (علماً بأن هناك لكثير من أراضي الضفة أيضاً محتلة)…

ملاحظة مهمة: الأقصى ( المسجد القبلي، و قبة الصخرة، و المسجد المرواني، و الساحات كلها و ما تحتويه من اثار ) .

و نعدكم برحلات عديدة أكثر عمقً و جمالاً في المستقبل إن شاء الله …
