Snowshoeing Cypress Mountain

Cypress has opened for the winter season. We went up to the cross country ski area to do some snowshoeing. It was fogged in though and there was not a lot to take pictures of. Hopefully well get some nicer weather to enjoy the winter activities in. More posted on my flickr account here.

Waves crashing on the pier at Jericho beach in yesterdays wind storm. Winds were so strong thought I would be blown over getting the shot.

The Wind picked up pretty good today. We expect winds up to 90 km/h. With a cold front moving in the Mountains are going to get lots of snow. Whistler opens this weekend if you have not heard, and the local mountains should'nt be far behind with this kind of weather. Bring on the snow.

Grouse Mountain Winter Snow

Snow is visible on the North Shore after the clouds cleared. This is the first time Ive seen snow on the local hills as it has been raining a lot. Grouse Snow report Shows 50cm base. Wont be long before it opens if this weather keeps up.

End of the rainbow

Photo isnt quite what I hoped it would be. It was still raining and I did’nt want to get the camera wet. But there was a pretty large rainbow today that stretched from Vancouver’s West Side to North Vancouver.

Docked in the straight, Great Glory. Nice weather continues tomorrow and Wednesday, then we are back to winter rain.
