East Quoddy Head

Campobello Island sits at the mouth of the Bay of Fundy in southernmost New Brunswick, just over the International Bridge from Maine. A century ago this island was the summer haunt of many rich and famous families, including that of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who would one day become the president of the United States.

The island is rural in character, uncrowded and very scenic. It can only be reached by one bridge, from Lubec, Maine, or by a seasonal ferry from the New Brunswick mainland, via Deer Island.

The same things that once drew some of the most wealthy people in North America, now lure tens of thousands of tourists of average means. It is an ideal destination for those who enjoy outdoor activities amist scenic splendor. The history buff will also find much of interest here, including old mansions and even older lighthouses.

On one of my first walks to the South End, this building surprised me. It's not what you'd expect of the SE at all. And although this area has a lot of large houses, none are quite like this - stone, huge, and in great condition (on the outside, anyway). It looks like a freaking castle, it's awesome, and it's called Caverhill Hall.

Lors d'une de mes premières marches sur la rive sud, cette maison m'a étonnée. Ce n'est pas du tout ce que vous compteriez voir dans cette partie de la ville. C'est vrai que ce secteur a beaucoup de grosses maisons, mais aucune n'est tout à fait comme ceci - en pierre, énorme, et en excellent état (du moins, à l'extérieur). La maison ressemble à un petit château, très impressionnant. Cette masison s'appelle Caverhill Hall.

Today I was at work and noticed the weather eye on the taskbar saying +13!! So on my break I went for a walk on Main St. Woohoo we can go outside and not freeze body parts while taking pictures!!! :) It was on the other hand quite windy and didn't feel like +13 haha but still nice!

My mission today was to find a puddle to try shots like my flickr friend transgress did so great with her shot! She gave me the idea and since all the snow was melting it was the perfect time to try out some shots. You can see the ripples cause by the wind in the puddle hence the title.. I had a hard time keeping steady to take shots :)
