Before this year’s Olympics, the complex underwent a nearly 5.9 million renovation.

The heat on Sunday and Monday made for grueling outdoor triathlon and marathon races at the Beijing Olympics.

Australia’s Emma Snowsill took gold in the triathlon. Vanessa Fernandes of Portugal won the silver. American American Laura Bennett stayed in third place for most of the run, but lost the bronze to Emma Moffatt of Australia.

With losses in previous Olympics, there was some fear that the U.S. basketball team wouldn’t do so well, but on Saturday, they routed Spain for a 119-82 victory.

They later went on to beat Germany 106-57 in the final game of Olympic group play.

The team faces Australia on Wednesday in the quarterfinal.
