Jiji - 2015 Senior Session // Twinsburg, OH Portrait, Fashion & Wedding Photographer

2014-09-19T09:19:00.002-07:00

I had the great delight of photographing Jiji. She is a sweet girl with a quiet disposition that makes her very intriguing to be around. As we took photos and just sort of roamed a few locations it was so fun to see her personality come out here and there bringing a new light to how I saw her. Also, we had the great honor of receiving some information from a random biker telling us first that "oh, when she poses like that if she turns her head a bit she'll look just like kim kardashian. You know I know that stuff." Then after that he invited that, "she can pose on my bike too!". It was so much fun and I am just in love with how these photos show different parts of Jiji's personality.

Brett + Brittany - wedding // Middleburg Heights, OH Portrait, Fashion & Wedding Photographer

2014-09-16T13:31:00.000-07:00

Being able to meet Brittany and Brett before their wedding and take their engagement photos really made their day so much more personal to me. Just seeing how much they loved each others corks and embraced the little things in life really made me excited to know them and even more excited to be a part of the day that they would vow their lives to each other. Brittany is just a radiant person, Brett is kind and relaxed and together they are absolutely beautiful. At the end of the day as I said my goodbyes and came up to Brett and Brittany, they gave me the biggest hug and let me know how much they appreciated me - this totally describes who they are. Whether it's a new acquaintance or a long known friend, they care deeply and genuinely for people. It was nothing but an honor and joy to be part of such a lovely day uniting two amazing people together.

And now, for a look into their wedding day...

Andrew - Portrait session // Cleveland, OH Portrait, Fashion & Wedding Photographer

2014-09-04T14:53:00.004-07:00

When Andrew contacted me about getting some photos done for his photography business I can't deny that I may have done a little happy dance in Starbucks :) I was so honored to be able to not only meet such an incredible local photographer, but also to help capture a bit of his personality and vision in photography. Andrew is a super cool guy with a lot of personality and great style (obviously) which made him a breeze to photograph! We had a blast talking about geeky photography stuff and roaming around the outskirts of the the art museum. There is something so neat about meeting people with the same vision and creative mind set and just talking about the trade!

Without further adieu (in honor of starting to learn french), the very classy Andrew -

Allie - 2015 Senior Session // Hudson, OH Portrait, Fashion & Wedding Photographer

2014-08-27T17:54:00.001-07:00

This 2015 senior flaunts amazing style, extraordinary good looks, and a huge dedication to sports ( soccer to be exact). Allie's edgy style was so fun to work with as we ventured through the quaint city of Hudson and explored the alleyways and old houses at every turn. It was so great to get to know her and enjoy her serene disposition and fun personality -

Kari + Ethan - wedding // Milton, PA Portrait, Fashion & Wedding Photographer

2014-08-20T09:31:00.002-07:00

The more weddings I attend the more I realize that every wedding day is different - even if the schedule was laid out exactly the same and the decorations/venue were identical, it is the couple who sets the mood of the day and brings a unique aspect to the wedding. Kari and Ethan's laid back attitudes and fun disposition set the perfect rhythm for the day. I felt right at home as Kari's mother made sure I was well taken care of and Kari welcomed me like a dear friend (regardless of the fact that we had never "met"). Kari is just the sweetest person ever! She has such a kind and loving attitude that shows through her eyes and radiates in her smile. Ethan had the chance to tell me about his love story personally and, just like Kari, he had a rare kindness that leaked through every story and action throughout the day. Kari and Ethan were such an amazing couple and it was nothing but a privilege to photograph their wedding, I couldn't have asked for a better day or sweeter couple.

May you continue to use your love for each other as a blessing to others and point of joy. Thank you for your friendship and allowing me to be a part of your very special day, I am excited to see where your life together leads and the people you inspire. You are both beautiful people and I wish you the very best as husband and wife.

2014-07-29T17:31:00.002-07:00

I am so excited to finally be sharing these photos from a stylized wedding I shot and helped plan out in Leavenworth, WA at the Delight Retreat. The couple modeling were such amazing people and super fun to work with as they were close to their 2 year mark as a married couple! Everything turned out beautifully and it was amazing to see Elise's and my vision ( mostly Elise's) come together to make for a beautiful shoot.

Hope you enjoy the photos and feel free to share on pinterest or with friends!

A special thanks to these vendors who did so much to make the shoot turn out perfectly!

Holly + Micah - wedding // Rittman, OH Portrait, Fashion & Wedding Photographer

2014-07-27T16:22:00.002-07:00

As I arrived at Gish barn and walked up the gravel path I was greeted by a joyful group of people setting up the final details and Micah who showed me around and made sure I had everything I needed. Even from the very beginning I could tell that the day would be full of laughter and fun not laden with any stress or nervousness what so ever. Micah and Holly were so at peace with the life long commitment they were about to make and every smile and gesture was proof to that. One of the most memorable moments was holly walking down the isle and Micah seeing her for the first time; his eyes were welling with pride and love for his bride and holly's smile was brighter and wider than I've ever seen. The beautiful ceremony finished with cheers and uncontrollable smiles and they were tackled with hugs and congratulations from a ecstatic bridal party.

Here's the story of the day Micah & Holly became husband and wife

Jessica + Josh - Elopement // Lakeview Beach Lorain, OH Portrait, Fashion & Wedding Photographer

2014-07-15T18:48:00.000-07:00

"I just can't believe I am actually married to you!"

These were the words spoken to Jessica by Josh with the biggest smile I have ever seen - That one sentence summed up their day perfectly.

I have never seen two people more ecstatic to become husband and wife. Their smiles were endless and their love was so real and evident in every grin, touch, and glance. I have been to countless weddings, met tons of brides/grooms, and been apart of capturing so many special moments, and yet something about this simple joining of two people touched me so deeply. There wasn't a schedule to follow, a reception to put together, a bridal party to clothe, a venue to schedule, just two people deeply in love with one another. Don't get me wrong, I love the traditional wedding and all the lovely details, but sometimes the events without the distractions of making everything perfect is what makes it perfect.

It's your turn to be apart of and enjoy the love that Jessica and Josh share on one of the happiest days of their life.

Jessica and Josh -

I hope that 20, 40, or even 60 years from now you will be just as happy to be married as you were on your wedding day. I can't express how much I loved being apart of such a special day, your joy was contagious. I look forward to seeing how your marriage and love for each other grows throughout the years!

Love you two!

- Audrey Hepburn -

The woman who held her head high, moved with grace, and spoke with passion. Redefining the age's view of beauty, she was known for her slim silhouette, bold brows, and innocent/doe like eyes. Her unique style and personality has always been a constant inspiration to me and my photography. Anna Gray assisted me as a model to finally be able to portray my view of a modern day Audrey Hepburn and it was amazing to be able to draw inspiration from a icon and create my own unique images/look! Please feel free to pin and/or share these images - My goal is to inspire and bring joy to as many people as possible through my work

Cara - Senior // Huntington Beach, OH Portrait, Fashion & Wedding Photographer

2014-05-10T15:59:00.000-07:00

Preparing for my senior shoot at Huntington beach, I was mulling over whether or not I should grab a coat. Pro - Warmth. Con - I'd have to carry it if I was hot. There was a major factor I didn't take into consideration; the beach means more wind, which means colder, which means bring a coat. Of course I told myself I won't be cold and ditched the jacket idea and headed off to the beach. Letttt's just say it was a bad choice and while I was hoping my fingers were still connected to my hand, my nose was pretty much an unstoppable faucet.

Moral of the story? when in doubt, grab a coat and more importantly Cara is a beast.

Not only did Cara withstand the freezing cold, but she also managed to look amazing while doing so. Even with the chill, we had so much fun walking along the beach and adventuring out onto the rocks. Cara is so incredibly stylish and was always up to any crazy pose I might have. She has such a bubbly and fun personality which is balanced with her ability with numbers and ambition in career. Seriously, beautiful, fun, adventurous, and ambitious? Cara is such an amazing woman and it was a dream to be able to photograph her.

Thanks for sharing part your senior year with me and letting me capture your beautiful personality! I know you have an amazing future ahead of you and I am looking forward to where it leads !

You are a truly beautiful person.

Xoxo,

Janelle

Lydia - Fashion // Cleveland, OH Portrait, Fashion & Wedding Photographer

2014-03-29T13:36:00.000-07:00

Lydia is such a fun model with her kind personality and willingness to try different things. Even though the weather kept us from venturing outside, it was such a unique challenge to use the bland building we were at. I am looking forward to helping this lovely woman build her modeling portfolio!

Innocence - Self Portrait Series // Cleveland, OH Portrait, Fashion & Wedding Photographer

2014-03-11T16:57:00.000-07:00

As I spoke to an older friend of mine they made a lighthearted jab about my age and innocence and for a few seconds I felt a sort of shame in that. I felt as though, in that short time, there was almost some sort of mockery in being pure. The next thought that came to mind was Mathew 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” In a culture where media floods us with coarse jesting, crude humor, and explicit scenes of sin, we are constantly being encouraged to intake all this as a part of growing up and attaining maturity; almost as if maturity is only achieved through taking part in the world and experiencing, watching, and carrying out sinful acts. It struck me that innocence is something that is often regarded as bad or immature among young adults.

Innocence – “freedom from guilt or sin through being unacquainted with evil”

That ^ doesn’t sound bad to me, in fact I see my life and what a great and utter lack of innocence I posses. I strive towards innocence and Jesus dying on the cross is the sole reason that “freedom from guilt” is attainable even when I am so blemished by sin! For those who are not acquainted with evil, do not be ashamed. Although people may not admit it and might even tease, many would do anything to be where you are; to not know some of the things they know, to not think some of the things they think. “Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted.” Titus 1:5

This series is my way of putting a new image to innocence; one that is not lacking in maturity (the old roses which have withered with time representing maturity) and exudes a certain beauty and attraction in a pure heart. I hope that through these images even the slightest impact will be made to the way you see innocence and purity.

"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God." Matthew 5:8

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” – Philippians 4:8

“Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.” – Colassians 3:5

United 2014 // Personal

2014-03-07T17:08:00.000-08:00

When an experience is so special and impactful I often find myself struggling for words, more importantly the right words. United 2014 was one of the most encouraging, surprising, thought evoking, and friendship-centered experiences I have had. Seeing people that I've followed throughout the years over social media and being able to give them a hug and talk to them was beyond words. I can only explain meeting these people, some of my photos winning, shooting alongside people I adore, and being able to share my passion and be inspired, as a dream. This might all sound so cliche, but I promise that if you were my shoes, or if you went to United, you would know that I mean every word. As we flew out of Cali I was sad to leave my newfound friends but invigorated by their love for art and people. Of course, the photographer in me wishes I would have taken more photos of the people around me, but I hope that these photos will give you a bit of a glimpse of what my trip looked like.

I want to extend a special thank you to David Jay, Andrew Barlow, and Kevin Sturm for all you did for me. My experience at United was a priceless gift that I will cherish forever and talking to each of you was so special.

To Kristin W, Emily W, Sabrina N, Amanda W, Stacy C, Tori W, Kenny K, Eva D, Andrew O, Jessica D. David M, Jodi I, Phillip N, Mikey and Samantha S, Lukas and Suzy V, Joel and Maggie R, and so many others. You guys were the greatest. I honestly have not met people with greater hearts or talent. I had such an amazing time hanging out with you and getting to know your quirks and unique gifts. You made the week especially fun and welcoming to me and I want to thank you for that! See you next year ( and if not, then hopefully sooner) !

Janelle

Becca + Matt // Wedding // Cleveland, OH Portrait, Fashion & Wedding Photographer

2014-01-20T18:10:00.001-08:00

Becca and Matt's special day consisted of such a great, contagious love. As soon as we ( Rachel, the first shooter, and me ) walked in, we were surrounded by huge smiles, infectious laughter, and the most beautiful bride. After such a welcoming start, the events rolled out in the most wonderful fashion and the whole day was such a joy to be apart of. From the harlem shake and utterly confused older folk to the tender love Matt and Becca showed for each other, their wedding was a dream!

Matt and Becca, you two are such a beautiful and godly couple and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of your day! The love you two share is so evident, genuine, and real and it was so wonderful to watch and capture it. I hope your love only grows stronger through the years and I hope our paths cross again in the future!

Emily + Michael // Chagrin Falls - Cleveland, OH Portrait & Wedding Photographer

2013-11-16T16:45:00.001-08:00

Emily and Michael were such a sweet, fun, and stunning couple. There was something so youthful and romantic about their relationship that was such a joy to watch. My favorite part of taking their photos was going to the place where he proposed, on the beach, and watching their eyes light up as they told me where and how he proposed.

It was such a pleasure and honor to be able to capture their spirit and love for each other.

Thank you Emily and Michael for letting me take part in your joy and allowing me to stand back and witness/document your love.
