Bluejuice had a great performance, but I lost interest in photographing their set as it was so dark!

A changed layout to the event meant the local produce stage was in a new location.

Photographically this stage was brilliant! The closed glass roof and spot lights on the band allowed me to drop the exposure on the sky while still filling the subject with light – pretty similar to how I shoot outdoors on location with speedlites!

To photograph her was almost a little intimidating: she requested no personal video and absolutely no flash point n shoot cameras in the audience. Still, I got the shots I needed and then put the camera away and was mesmerised, just like everyone else.

Incredible.

It’s hard to not like these guys.

If you are swayed by drummers and generally find yourself watching the percussion at a gig then Greg Saunier’s interesting hitting style will have you captivated. It’s incredible that he gets so much variety from his drums considering the simplicity of the kit!
