Hello Valued Customer/Friend of mine!! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and Happy New Year!!

Ours was especially great since I ate till my hearts content AND just found out that my health is back to normal (somewhat) ha! What IS normal?? I had a scare of thinking I was going to have to have surgery to remove a mass a few months back in my tummy, but all is well now as it is has gone away!! I am truly blessed that my family is healthy and happy.

On to the SALE part which I'm sure you are wondering about..

I didn't have too many of these over the holidays and felt like sharing my happiness for the new year by offering 2 of them to you now! So make sure you scroll down to the end of this email to see the second sale...

First, is the DIGITAL IMAGE SALE. As most of you know, I caved and started selling high-resolution digital images on cds a few months back. It was a hard decision to make, but I needed to stay with the times we live in, the "digital age", where everyone wants to share images on their computer devices and print their own products. Well, the sale part is that I have reduced the price of the digital image for you---some of you spoke up and I listened! I hope this makes it more accessible for you to now own the rights to your images and do with them what you please! The digital prices listed below are only until I get a feel for what is selling and then this might be adjusted again in the near future, or I might even decide I don't want to offer this anymore, so get in on it while you can! The digital image ensures you have these images for a lifetime of printing/sharing how YOU want. I have some links to share with you of a perfect printer and a place to get Christmas cards, birth announcements printed too after your purchase, I wouldn't leave you hanging with the images and let you go to WalMart to print them!! Please don't go to WalMart, Walgreens or any other hour photo place to print them!! They adjust everything and leave the image looking so bad. So, if you have done a photo session with me before, in the last few years, please check with me to see if I still have your images, and I will put them on a disc for you to have. :-)

Hello to all my wonderful clients, past and present!! As we are nearing the holidays I would like to keep you posted on what's new and ordering deadlines.

The ordering deadline for ordering prints for Christmas is: Dec. 10th. If you are a distance away and I have to ship them to you, please allow a little more time for that.

The deadline to order jewelry/handbags is: Dec. 1st. as it takes more design time and time to get here.

Digital Files from Your Photo Session!!

I soooooo excited to tell you something, I really am! Just in time for Christmas...

After much thought and consideration and the requests of my clients, I will now be adding DIGITAL FILES to my shop!!

You will now have the option to purchase digital files from your photo session! Now, if you know me, you know I have been against this for quite some time, really all along. But, I have decided that the research I've done has put me in the mindset that it's ok to sell the digital file if I can direct my client to the proper place to print that file for products/prints. This doesn't mean I won't still be offering my already wonderful products or prints. This is just an offering to let you keep the file or files you choose digitally to do with as you please, like share over email, online, make your own Christmas Card or get grandpa that mug with little Chester on it he's been wanting! Of course, I have found a wonderful print lab that will allow you to do that and so much more with your disc of photos in hand!

My New Years resolution is a no-brainer---to keep up with the blog more. No more excuses of being busy or whatever. Another would be to post more informative content on photography in general and what makes me different from other photographers out there. There seems to be a new photographer that pops up every other day it seems. I really feel what sets me apart from the "newbies" is my years of art experience and just being in "the biz" for a lot longer. Also, it's in the editing and what you can do with your photos after they come out of the camera and land in Photoshop or whatever program the photographer uses.

Take the above examples, for instance. There is not much difference in the first example before and after but just minor touches to really bring out the subject's eyes and light of the overall photo. The second is a bit more pronounced. Newborn's skin is always a little red or blotchy and that is a must in getting rid of that. I then tweaked the skin color a bit to be more yellow than blue to give it a warmer effect. Next I retouched out the padding under the front baby. I then ran a beautiful soft action I found in photoshop and a texture or two later added to the edges and the final product was done. It does take me time to work with your pictures and get them just how I want. So, please take that into account when we do your photo session.

I hope this helps a bit to understand what goes into the process of professional photography a bit more. This is just the tip of the iceberg...

I had sooooo much fun with these two at the beach! They really loved showing off for the camera and having their picture taken. It is such a joy when I go to the beach and just play AND get great shots naturally with kids. It took the boy a little longer than his sister to warm up, but he really came around after a little talk about legos and Star Wars (a boy after my own heart)!

This configuration of the photos above is also a new 10x10 STORYBOARD I'm offering in the shoppe. Let me design one for you today with some photos from our photo session.

I was absolutely over the moon when I was contacted by these newborn twin's mommy! I have photographed numerous newborns, but never twins before! (They are fraternal twins, by the way) I am always honored when a parent trusts me enough to document the first precious days of their child's life, but this was double special.

I immediately enlisted the help of my good friend, Elaine, because she is the mommy of 5 year old twins herself and I needed an extra set of hands. And who better to be an expert than a mommy of twins? She helped me so much in rocking and placing and the soothing of the babies the babies----and the mom! Thanks again, Elaine, for sticking with us for three hours...That's how long newborn sessions last usually, just so you all know out there...two to three hours. We like for the babes to be sleeping and curled up. Usually, I like to photograph newborns at 6 to 12 days old. These little guys were almost two months, so it was a little more challenging to get them to sleep, but finally, they both fell asleep at the same time! Ahhhh...bliss...and a few great shots later, they both woke up. But, we still got some really good shots of them and mommy was really happy with them...thank goodness!

Clients are always asking me, "What do I wear to the photo session"?? The main thing for families is to not show up in all the same color. That's sooo 80's. A classic look is fine, but vary it a bit so you all aren't in kahki's and white shirts. Instead, group together color palettes like the suggestions above for a cohesive look, but not too matchy, matchy. I hope this helps a bit!
