Lucy 6 months and Update

2012-01-19T08:43:00.000-05:00

The last two months since I posted have been a whirl wind. The arrival of our sweet little boy on Nov. 23rd has filled our life with SO MUCH joy!!

I'll share some pictures of him in a second but before that, here's Lucy! She's six months old! I was able to squeeze in her session my last few days of pregnancy. She's such a smily happy baby. I mentioned in her newborn post about how special she and her parents are to me. Love this family! Can't wait for the years ahead in going through the parenting and family life together.

And now introducing Canyon :) Our precious baby boy. Born November 23rd at 4lb 14oz and 19 inches. (At his 1 week check up he was measured at 17 1/2in so he may have been measured wrong) He weighed 6lb 11oz right before Christmas, so I'm excited to see what he's up to at his two month apt next week! He was super healthy, just small! So I'm glad he's growing just fine and doing so well.

Chris and I are so in love with our little man. :)

Christmas card :)

About 7 weeks here

Catch Up!

I'm so behind in posting!! October was crazy, super busy. I was so thankful for all the great sessions, but it kept me hopping! So... I'm just going to do one giant post to share some of the beautiful people I've had the honor of working with these last two months!

First up is Cohen and Kadien...cousins! I can't believe Cohen is one! He's the newborn in my header of this site... I need to update!

Myah and Macy ~ Two year old twins! So cute and so different from each other! They were fun!

Holland Family ~ Blaine is two! I've done his pictures since he was six months... so fun to see him grow!

Lance 3 years old and Audrey one year ~ Such a beautiful fall day with beautiful kids!

Brooks Family ~ I have a special place in my heart for this family :) Nieces and nephews are so wonderful :)
~Noah, 3 yrs

~Shae, 5 yrs

~Kahlan, 7 yrs

Zack ~ Senior... crazy to say senior! Another extra special session, our nephew! Such a handsome young man... can't believe he's a senior!

Collena ~ 5yrs and Gracie ~ 3 yrs... Such beauties! This was a quick little session but still some cute shots!

Jake ~ Senior... Jake was very easy going and made for a great second senior session!

Megan & Emma... I LOVED this session! These ladies were such naturals in front of the camera (not to mention beautiful!) and the two locations were new to me, so that was extra fun!

Mounsey Family ~ Such a sweet family! I did their pics last year so it was fun to see how the girls have grown and to meet their new addition!

~Halle, 5 yrs

~Chaney, 2 yrs

~ Vance, 4 months

Girod Family ~ This was a new experience for me... A large extended family! I was so thankful to have my husband there helping direct everyone. That was challenging for me, but they were all so sweet and cooperative!

Sarah ~ Senior... what a beauty! She made it so easy on me! I loved this session :)

Stratten ~ almost 2 yrs... What a surprise to go to this session, not thinking I knew the family, and then get there and realize this little guy's mom and I used to work together! That was funny :) This little guy was every bit of almost two... very active and lots of fun!

~If you're still with me... you're a trooper :)

Ryker~10 days new

2011-09-06T09:45:00.001-04:00

Ryker was such a little sweetie. He wasn't crazy about me moving him into poses but he finally drifted off into that deep sleep so we could get some fun shots :)

Casen-6, Ryah-4, Cyton-3, Raimi-2(almost!)

2011-08-30T10:53:00.001-04:00

What a fun session! These kids are not only beautiful, they're sweet and funny as well. We had a gorgeous morning... enjoy the little sweeties :)

These cute little ones were so sweet! We picked a beautiful day to head out for some photos. I had a great time with these three!

Cael ~ 2 years

2011-07-11T13:45:00.000-04:00

This little guy is so cute, funny and FAST! He likes to run! He definitely kept me on my toes and I came home absolutely exhausted. But it was worth it. :)

Madison- 4 years, Reid - 2 years, & Cole - 1 year

2011-06-28T11:47:00.000-04:00

These three cuties definitely keep their mama busy! Even when we have some little stinkers who don't really want their picture taken... it's fun (and rewarding!) when we still get some great shots. They were all very sweet, and I enjoyed working with them!

Journey - 8 days new

2011-06-28T11:41:00.000-04:00

Journey is such a sweetie, as all newborns are. :) She had such beautiful hair and her mommy was prepared with lots of cute hair bows! Such a fun shoot!

Amayah 2 years

2011-06-21T11:29:00.000-04:00

What a little sweetie pie... I may be biased because she's my niece, but I think Amayah is one of my best models :) Enjoy her cuteness!

Lucy was an extra special newborn session. Being close with both her parents, I couldn't wait to meet this little one. I wish all three of them much happiness!

Bailey

2011-04-08T13:21:00.000-04:00

I had a great time with Bailey finding cool areas downtown. It was such a fun change to work with an adult! haha! She was fabulous. :)

Ross & Kiann - Expecting

2011-04-04T15:56:00.000-04:00

I've known these two for a long time... Such an honor to be a part of this exciting time in their lives! About eight more weeks until we get to meet the little one!

Cohen 6 months

2011-03-22T13:42:00.000-04:00

Little Cohen is growing so fast! He's the little newborn in the header above! Such a little sweetheart he is. It was a beautiful day to get outside and this was my first shoot with my new lens which I LOVE!! Here's Cohen...!

Crete 1 year

2011-03-10T19:09:00.000-05:00

Little Crete is one already! Such a sweet and fun little boy. Super squeezable!

Kinda fun fact... Crete was my first photo shoot with my DSLR when I did his newborn shoot. What a fun year of photography it's been!

I'm Baaaaack!

2011-02-01T11:17:00.000-05:00

Wow... almost three months with no blog post?! That was due to about 10% neglect and 90% nothing to post! I recently had a session of a cute little family. This was my second indoor shoot (besides newborns) and first using only natural light (which I prefer). So I was extremely nervous about finding enough areas with enough light. Thankfully I was able to get there an hour early to scope out some spots!

Photography is still (and probably always will be) a big learning experience for me. The day after a shoot I usually think of about three things I would have done differently if I could go back, but I'm thankful to learn from that and apply it to the next shoot. But enough of that.... Meet the Knight family!

I also realized I never posted the photos from a sweet family who wanted to capture their last days with their pet and forever friend, Molly. This was my first time shooting at Foster Park and will definitely be going back! Here's the Welbaum family!

Orange

2010-11-09T10:09:00.000-05:00

This weeks challenge for i heart faces is orange! The trees were beautiful at the time this picture was taken. I love fall!

Mounsey Family

2010-10-28T10:32:00.001-04:00

I love photographing girls! Boys are great too of course, but girls just LOVE getting their picture taken... especially when they get a little older. I had a great time with this sweet family and their girls are so adorable!

The Jones Family

2010-10-19T17:39:00.000-04:00

How cute is this family? Maybe I'm a little partial since I'm related.... but seriously... they're cute! :) Payton was excited about getting his picture taken (don't know how long it lasted) and Amayah was a little ham as always. It was a beautiful fall day!

Collena & Gracie

2010-10-19T11:17:00.000-04:00

These two girlies are so adorable and beautiful! I absolutely loved the first time shooting them so I was so excited to hear Collena turned four and was ready for more pictures! Of course Gracie came along so I had double the models :)

Brooks Family

2010-10-18T16:38:00.001-04:00

Sometimes the best photoshoots are the spontaneous ones! I'm a planner and a researcher. Personally, if I know I have a shoot coming up, I like to feel prepared. But our days were limited and it was a gorgeous evening so we took advantage of that. I think it was a good idea. :)

Cohen 5 days new

2010-09-30T20:54:00.000-04:00

This was my fourth newborn session (all have been boys, where are the girls?!). I wouldn't say it's gotten easier, but I have definitely learned more with each one. Cohen was my youngest yet biggest baby! And how I've come to say, thanks to the Aschliman family.... I love his "chewy" cheeks!

Holland Family

2010-09-23T20:37:00.000-04:00

I had a great time shooting down town Fort Wayne for the first time with this cute little family. I can't believe Blaine is already one! Seems like we just did his six month pictures!

Contest!

2010-09-14T15:59:00.002-04:00

I decided to enter a photography contest through Better Homes and Gardens magazine! It sounded like something right up my ally. The contest says to submit your best photos that capture special moments at home with your family and friends. Share your celebrations, backyard fun, and other memories-in-the making.

So the past few months I've been going about my usual photography-ness while keeping the contest in the back of my head. However the deadline is approaching soon and I need to be deciding which photos to enter!

That's where YOU come in! If you are reading this, I'd LOVE and APPRECIATE your input! Just comment with what your favorites are starting with most favorite. I can enter six so feel free to tell me however many you like! Thanks in advance! :)

I tried to number them to make it easier but it was being difficult so.... oh well. :) Chris and I went through lots (and lots!) of pictures to narrow it down to these. We think they fit the theme of what they're looking for... but we could be wrong! So vote not just on the cuteness factor :) but that it portrays "home fun with family/friends" as well as has good quality!

2010-09-10T16:19:00.000-04:00

Oh how I love little bitty newborns! Having made it through my 3rd newborn session, I can say I'm getting the hang of it a little more. But... they're still so tricky! I feel like I'm walking on eggshells, tiptoeing around trying to keep the little guy peaceful, while sweating like crazy since I want the room to be all warm and cozy for the babe! (pretty sure that was a run-on sentence...)

However, as I'm going back through the pictures later to edit I realize... it was so worth it! So how cute is this little guy?! He was sure fighting sleep making it difficult to "pose" him, but I think I still got some good shots... before and after he fell asleep! Enjoy his sweetness. :)

*sigh...*

My wonderful hubby designed our watermark! Isn't he fantastic? I think so. :)

Edwards Family

2010-09-06T22:50:00.000-04:00

Such a cute family! But boy, families are tough! It's hard getting everyone to cooperate at the same time! (mainly the little ones of course) But, I love a challenge. :) Although... the fun far outweighed the challenge part!
