Kickin it with my Homies

Where do i even start? I finally took the time this year to hit my homies in the west. Sonny and I flew over to LA to visit our friends Kevin & Ming from Standard Functions. Not only that, but we also met a few other interesting people during the vacation that made the whole 3 day visit pretty epic.

We started off in Little Tokyo and had Jessica contact the owner from bowls to tell him that two Chi-town homies are swinging by for the first time! We got a nice warm welcome from Ryan, one the owner of unique boutique. (click on the photos to make bigger)

Afterwards we headed out for some Korean BBQ. Ming showing off his cooking skills. I'm so full i wasn't even hungry the next morning!

Then following day we met up with Yogi which is also the manager for the Illest LA store. Great guy and hes also an amazing photographer too. The night before he took us to all the shooting locations downtown LA, sorry no pics they are all secret location, haha.

We all showed up getting ready to load all the bike into the trucks and head out to "The Chronicles" Honda meet. Sonny checking out Maggie, Thats Yogi by his dope truck and his homie Mike. Caught Kevin doing some labor intensive work.

I told you had a great week! Nothing short of spectacular in my books. I'd like to thank everyone for showing us a good time! Kevin, Ming, Yogi, Jessica, Sherry, All of the SF crew, Bowls LA, and Fatlace for taking care of us during our visit. Will make sure to return the favor when you guys visit Chi-town! Time to board and head back home....

So even before i bought the GDB wagon, my buddy Jakab already bought me a nice birthday gift. It was a V-limtied front lip. This gives that nice lowered looked without really slamming the car like what i did with my bimmer.

Gives the car a more aggressive look :)

STANCE

I called up my friends from Stance Suspension and they help me get the last set of AL+ Pro for the GDB wagon. The AL+ system is all Aluminum to help prevent rust, corrosion, and reduce unsprung weight. On top of that just this week. I also replaced the springs with Swift Coilovers Springs 6K front and 4K rears. This also add to a much better ride plus reducing more weight.

I love the feeling of a flat car cornering! The finished stance is the post below.

So i was really excited about using this little thing. Wow I was amazed on how well it worked during my little sisters bday weekend. The video is crisp and sharp, the colors looks really nice and balanced.

Flow M9-SE Bindings

Now that i got new boots this season i didn't realize that my M9 bindings are too small for them. It was a super tight fit and was a total pain to get in and out. So i upgraded to the M9-SE (special edition) The same ones that Scotty Lago used in the 2010 Olympic Games. The power input was much better not that its a bigger binding the transfer to heel-toe is smoother and i can really feel the responsiveness on the toe side. I'll get to really test them out this weekend!

Snowbird and Goodwood 2011

So this was really unexpected this year. I was thinking that i would still be riding my Flow Era board with M9 bindings. During the past few weeks and the holiday my gear has been upgraded to a Lib Tech Skate Banana BTX and M9 SE bindings. Not only that, but for christmas my good friend Sonny and my awesome girl friend Denise bought me a pair of Nike Snowboarding Kaiju boots. Wow let me tell you its like walking around with Nike shoes, they are much better than my DC boots. Its like night and day difference.

Also I recently stopped by Salt Lake City, Utah which gave me a day of fun at Snowbird. This was my first time going to a real Mt. let me tell you its a whole different world, haha! I really want to go back and try out Brighton and check out Park City!

Cascade For Bday

My cousin Mike had a Bday this past month, so we we got a few our cousins out into the hill of the midwest. This was a little prep for his big trip to Whistler Mt. this week. Anyways here is the video using the S95.

I also used my new snowboard and new boots! More on this later!

Recently went to one of my cousins dance competitions and Poreotics made a guess appearance. I also happen to have my Canon S95. Time to test the HD video mode (720p) on the canon s95. A little manual setting on the metering, dropped it down a few stops to expose the dancers correctly. The standard res. is pretty good too since it was full zoom (105mm) and hand held with no tripod or grip.
