Street photography at a Philcoa community.

2016-01-10T05:04:00.001-08:00

I finally decided to visit a community near the Philcoa pedestrian bridge. It is a peaceful community, but almost all residents are "squatters". The community is near the Phil. Atomic Agency which is the one I wanted to shoot. Maybe someday I will visit deeper.

Himbabao tree in Philcoa.

2015-12-31T00:11:00.001-08:00

It is surprising to see on the last day of the year a himbabao tree. I thought I would have to go to a forest, but trees can grow if the ground is fertile and there are birds, butterflies or bats to disperse seeds.

But one can also do this using GIMP. We shall illustrate with an example real soon!

A new bird species sighting in U.P. Diliman

2015-08-27T08:02:00.001-07:00

I wanted to shoot again the trees in the Washington Sycip Garden of Native trees in U.P. Diliman, and I was glad I shot this new bird sighting near the Alumni Center, at the back of the College of Music building. I was only able to get one photo, but the photo is good enough. Next time, I will shoot more and faster. Hope someone can identify this beautiful bird.

Fleshy wood mushrooms

2015-08-11T06:58:00.000-07:00

I do not know if this is edible, but it is fleshy to touch. It is obviously different from the ganoderma spp. we have shown from Salvador Benedicto. These photos were taken near the Bahay Alumni at the University of the Philippines.

What artocarpus species?

2015-06-25T18:01:00.000-07:00

Common names, antipolo, camansi, rimas can be easily confusing. Here is one which may get different common names depending on the regional affiliations of the beholder. Do you agree, for example that this specimen, found growing in Salvador Benedicto is a camansi?

So many posts with missing photos

2015-06-13T16:47:00.000-07:00

I fell unhappy that there are so many posts missing their illustrative photos. I thought Facebook will keep them. They do but they keep changingyou the url to the photos.

So I am sorry for our readers that I may have wasted their time. Facebook wasted my time and worse nearly made me crazy copying photos even mine to blogger and there hundreds in our group blog http://phppf.blogspot.com/, Photographic Handbook of Phil. Plants and Flowers.

If you are missing a plant photo, may I point you to that blog. Life is too short trying to cope with Facebook practice changing links to photos.
